So ... if you follow my reviews you know I rarely leave bad reviews unless the service or something is terribly wrong . We decided to come here today and go all out , we bought a glow in the dark fish tank, food , rocks , all accessories including real plants and, tank warmer and tropical fish ... we spent hundreds of dollars... after we arrived home we first notched the never put the food in our bag however after calling they credit the money back in our account fantastic but literally 3 hours after setting up the tank , putting on the water Warner all our fish died and I'm not talking about cheap $0.16 golfd fish I'm talking $15 a fish and we got 4 of those . The tank was new , the water was warm , we went out and replaced the food ... all I can think of is they sold us fish that were dying . How do all 4 fish die with in 3 hours of leaving the store ? That has never in my life happened before .. how do you explain to a toddler that all his brand new fish died ... I would never purchase from them again . Clearly they don't take care of there fish well enough to stay alive for customers! read more

Caroline is the best dog trainer! My rescue dog Sasha just graduated from beginner classes taught by Caroline today. Of course, we had to sign up for intermediate classes with Caroline because she is FANTASTIC! Caroline is so patient and it is obvious she loves what she does. She was encouraging and motivating to my dog who I was not able to get to listen to me before working with Caroline. Horrible customer service over the phone! Wasted 45 min of my day on the phone trying to get an appointment for my dog only to finally speak to the manager who said there was no availability! Why couldn't they tell me that sooner !! Called Petco and 5 minutes later I was booked and happy and ready for my puppy's grooming ! Never again Pet smart ! Not even to buy supplies ! Who doesn't love PetSmart! We personally have a dog with strict dietary and skin needs and they always have what we need for her. They have a large variety of items for most all domestic pet needs. The store is easy to navigate and always clean. The animals they sell are well cared for cages are always clean and the staff is always playing with some kind animal, reptile or critter of some kind making sure they get lots of attention. I can't speak of the vet/groomer/obedience centers as we've never used them but from what I've seen it's all good. read more

I had my dog groomed by Julianne and I had an amazing experience! She groomed him the exact way I asked her too. Also, I always get a ton of anxiety when getting my dog groomed and my dog had a healed scab that she found and she immediately called me to inform me. She was extremely caring about my dog and valued the experience we both had. Which was greatly appreciated! So excited to find a groomer who I can truly trust and cares about my dog as much as I do. Not very happy with my last visit there . The store was empty and the young man at the register an Asian guy was rude and acted like I was bothering him when I asked him where something was located . I didn't expect him to leave the register to personally take me there. So much so that between his attitude & the higher prices than that other big pet store in Glen Cove I just walked out. Too bad for them because I than spend quite a bit at the Petco. I'd been there previously and the girls I'd encountered at the register while buying hamster items were helpful and friendly . Some people should not work in customer service . 3 stars for the other experience but if it were to rate him it'd be 1 read more

I came here a few days ago to buy some things for my new dog I got from a rescue shelter. The entire staff was very friendly and they helped me find everything I was looking for. They were very informative and helped me find him special treats, a collar and harness. The staff knew about dog foods and how they were beneficial for my dogs health. I will be coming back here again very soon read more

They have one groomer that is good but ultimately the absolute worst pet salon ever! They have a bunch of obnoxious high school students with no manners running the salon without anyone overseeing what they are doing. My experience was so bad that I am calling the corporate office to complain. They have no managers on the floor to assist with anything!!!!!!!! I would give no star if it were a choice. I question how they could possibly allow this branch to stay open. I am not sure why the manager is still in her role and has not been fired. read more

Always super clean, and well stocked. Competitively priced. I even had a very pleasant and still rewarding cat adoption experience here. My only critique is the cat viewing/adoption area is kind of tucked away in the dog supply section... so it took me forever to notice. But the experience was careful and considered... and they still ask me about my adopted pet every time I walk in. read more

Melanie K, an associate at the greening salon was completely rude and unprofessional. She kept insisting I allow them to use a shampoo called the Furminator even though I explained I allowed them to use it the last time I was there and my dog shed uncontrollably for a few weeks. She would not take no for an answer even though I repeatedly told her about my experience and that I just want regular bath for my dog. She would not let it go. She continued on for several minutes on why I should use it even though I had a bad experience. Then she proceeded to tell her manager that she did not feel comfortable bathing my dog, who's been groomed by them multiple times with no issues. Palma, another associate gladly bathed my dog, and when I went to pick him up, she too insisted that Melanie was an amazing groomer and she doesn't understand why there was an issue. She also recommended I use the furminator in the future and that the issue I had last time was because an inexperienced groomer did it last time, and she didn't do it the right way..."off the record". Later today, a while after I was home, she texted me from her personal cell, with a picture of the ingredients of the turning it bottle. Why do they feel it was necessary to insist on a specialty product which I had issues with in the past, when I just wanted a clean dog? So rude and unprofessional. Don't have a menu of services if you're not allowed to choose. read more

Its a nice store in a nice location, its a nice option aside from petco. However, on one visit here I was made very uncomfortable by an employee hitting on me. Unprofessional jokes along with awkward questions, then progressed to unwanted flirting and asking for my phone number. I ended up rushing out because I was uncomfortable. If zero stars was an option I would have chosen it. This was my first time at PetSmart Glen Cove and I went to get my dog groomed and they REFUSED me service because my dog has special needs. Mind you she is 100% healthy, and I've had her groomed at many other PetSmarts in the past without issue. Additionally, while one employee was calling "headquarters" the other was questioning me about how I care for my dog. Completely unprofessional and I will never go back. read more
