The WORST groomers I've ever been to. I needed to get in somewhere quick because I'm going on vacation and told them i wanted my doodle TRIMMED. i came back and didn't even recognize my dog because they SHAVED him. Shaved him completely down. And then their explanation was because he had a few mats. They took it upon themselves to shave my curly, long haired dog. Not to mention they said my dog was aggressive??? Hes the sweetest doodle and for him to be mean or whatever you hVe to be seriously hurting him. DO NOT take your dogs ESPECIALLY doodle dogs here. read more

I took my teacup yorki that weighs 1lb there today. The assistant at the Banfield hosp. Was holding him above the stainless steel table a foot above it dropped him on the table nose first. Our puppy loves this store so much we literally have to drag him out. All the workers are so friendly and always offer up pats or treats. We just finished our first round of training classes. I sat on hold for about two hours listening to the same terrible song during the process to learn about PetsHotel and set up the perfect plan for my 4 month old puppy. Everything did seem perfect. The reservation department had potty breaks every hour in a pheromone treated pebble-tech potty room, an extra playtime, and ice cream set up for my fur baby. However, when I dropped off my baby, only through close questioning did I learn that what I had arranged was not even possible. I found out that the location had no pebble-tech room. My baby would have to potty in the kennel or in the playroom for her one break that comes with the daycare package. The reason that we were using daycare was to make sure our new puppy could keep succeeding with potty training and forcing her to go "wherever" completely defeated the purpose. She can inappropriately relieve herself at home for free. The pricing I was given by reservations didn't match either. I ended up sitting in the car all day with my puppy, while my family proceeded with our plans for the day. I lost a lot of time setting this up, only to receive misinformation. I wonder how many dogs are dropped off while their owners have no idea what will be actually happening with their dog. read more

I frequently shop at Petsmart as I'm a dog owner and have a large fishtank. I was in the market for new aquarium light, I did some research online and found the perfect one. When I got the store it was 19.99 more than the online price at an online pet store. I spoke with the manager, who is unfriendly, doesn't smile, and has a sloppy appearance. She refused to honor the price match. So I explained that I would simply order it online to save money. She said that's fine. You would think a manager would want to save the business for her store. The employees in the store are friendly, but they don't have knowledge about the products they are selling. read more

Hubby and I are here working. Wanted to do some tourist stuff and brought our dog in for doggie day camp. Great prices! Union was great. She loved all over our dog. Even had a nickname picked out for her, "Lizzard" by the time we got back. She mentioned our dog looks just like another dog named Lizzy. Union is a keeper, did a great job! read more

Jacob, our minature poodle 11 years old, has been groomed by Cali at the North East Mall PetsMart location, for 3 times and she always does a terrific job. He's so cute, I can't stop laughing when he crawls into my laugh! I try to scissor cut him, in between grooming appointments, but there's nothing like a professional groomer, who knows how to groom poodles, not everyone knows how to groom poodles this way. We are so glad to have found Cali, we hope Cali will be around for years to come.... read more

I have had nothing but good experiences in this store. I recently adopted a black Lab from a rescue who had a bit of nervous energy. When a sales clerk saw that I was having trouble dealing with the dog on the leash and trying to shop for a crate, they immediately offered to help! Not just while i was purchasing, they followed through with helping me get it loaded in my car! Excellent customer service. I took one star off because I do feel that they could work on their pricing a bit. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR FAMILY PET HERE TO GET GROOMED!! I took my Shih-Tzu here for the first time. This location has deceptive business practices. Especially since this is a corporation, I believe that there should be a list of clear and concise pricing. I was told that there would be an additional $11.00 charge for nail grinding, which was fine. I was being helped by an associate, as I was exiting, another individual (whom I later learned was the Salon Manager) walked up and said it would be an extra fee for De-Mattifying. (My dog was not matted.) Her hair was long, but not matted... The Manager then said that for every extra 15 minutes it takes them to de-mattify the animal, there is an extra charge. She never said what that charge was or how this can be verified. She then waved her hand and said it would be no more than $26. It ended up costing me more than $80. to groom my 12 lb. dog. Mind you, I dropped my dog off at 3:00PM and she was done not a minute before, 6:00PM. When I returned, I asked her how the amount of time it took the salon to so called de-mattify the animal, can be verified by the consumer? She then replied by saying they time it. This still did not answer my question of how that could be verified by the consumer. I was curious to understand what the price was, and how it could be verified by the consumer. She then became somewhat defensive, saying that since before she worked at another Salon location and became a Manager at this one in Hurst, she has never witnessed anyone being dishonest. I did make it clear that i was not insinuating that she was dishonest, however I felt like that was a legitimate question to ask and that I felt that this was a deceptive business practice. She then proceeded to say, it is $6-7 for every 15 minutes it takes to de-mattify the animal. To add insult to injury, she proceeded to infer that due to the "condition" my dog was in, it took extra time to de-mattify her. Again, I state, my dog was NOT matted. She had long hair, but she was not matted. Another inappropriate comment I received, is that she was insinuating that I owe her money if anything, since she used Oatmeal shampoo on my dog. She stated that she did not charge me for that. Due to the deceptive business practices and "up-charges" I will never take my dog here, ever again! read more

I've been bringing my dog here since I got him in October and as far as I can tell he absolutely loves the doggie daycare. What's good about this location is that so far they have treated my dog and the other dogs I've seen so kindly. The reason I'm rating this location so low is because after my experience today from picking my dog up from the pet hotel, I will no longer be bringing him to this location. I've paid for my dog to stay at the pet hotel twice now, and he's been in the doggie daycare numerous times. The first time he stayed overnight, they forgot to give me back his food cup. I didn't think anything of that because mistakes happen and I should have checked his bag before leaving. Now, when I've brought him in for day camp lately the workers seem aggitated and do not show good customer service towards me during check in and check out but I blew that stuff off my shoulders because as long as they treat my dog right, that's what's matters. However, I was astounded with what happened today when I picked my dog up from his overnight stay. Before I make this any longer I'm just going to summarize. 1. They did not even bother to take a few seconds of their time to put my dogs harness on correctly 2. They once again forgot to give me my dogs things and luckily this time I made sure of it. I reminded them that I needed my dogs bag that he came with 3. After already making it out to my car I realized I didn't see the red Kong in his bag so I went back in there to get it. The cashier said her apologies and sent someone to look for it and I overheard the employee that she sent to find it come back and tell the cashier that he couldn't find it. She then told him to just give me a random kong. He tried giving me a disgusting, chewed up kong and acted like it was mine! I told him that it wasn't and then he said sorry I guess we misplaced yours. I can't believe that they were trying to give me a random kong, like I wouldn't know what kong belongs to my dog...I'm tired of them forgetting things and I didn't appreciate the customer service I received today. Especially after the amount of money and business I've given them. I will not be bringing my dog here anymore. read more

If I could leave a lower rating - I would. Just moved here and used Petsmart for several years in our former area (Georgia). Never ever had a problem. Had my little Chinese cresteds groomed just before we left there so it was time to take them in again (usually every 6 weeks). These are HAIRLESS dogs. I called this location and asked if they were familiar with grooming this breed and was told they were as they were educated on all breeds of dogs. WRONG. Took my little 8 lb crested in and explained there was not much grooming obviously but her feet needed to cleaned up and nail grinding. Hair on her head needed to be trimmed and all of the other routine grooming care. Reminded her that crested dogs have longer quicks so be cautious on the nail grinding. Well to my shock when I returned to get her, was actually told they were afraid to groom her muzzle and use shears on her because of her skin. These are hairless dogs!!!!! but they have hair on their heads and muzzle. She used scissors around her face and then said my dog was fidgetity......really? with scrissors around her eyes? She was not used to that. Plus what dog does not fidget when groomed at all? Then she pointed out that she had something on her feet (I explained she likes to lick and chew sometimes especially if she is nervous) but this unqualified groomer became a qualified vet and said it looked like a yeast infection. NOT. Besides they have a vet right there in the store so why would they not have someone look at it and inform me of this. She then said not to bring her back as they were uncomfortable with a hairless dog. OMG. I could not believe this. Not to worry - none of my 3 girls will go back. 50.00 for a groom on a hairless dog which did not look good afterwards - they just lost 150.00 every 6 weeks from my pocketbook. These little ones sleep with us and get more attention than my kids did at times.... so no one makes remarks to me about my babies. I talked to the manager and she commented she had noticed her while she was there and thought she was cute. Not good enough for me. I have contacted their corporate office and hope this groomer is sent back to school. She does not need to be grooming dogs. I will locate another groomer who cares about dogs and her profession and understands how to groom a hairless dog. STAY AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. read more

We take our Australian Cattle Dog here about once a week since moving to the area and we have never had a better Doggy Daycare experience than we do here!! After we get out of the car he basically drags us to the daycare center before pawing at the glass door to be let it. I was SHOCKED to say the least considering we are usually the ones dragging him in places. The ladies that work here already know him by name and you can tell give him all the love and TLC he's used to getting at home which makes it so much easier to leave him as a nervous puppy parent! I went in there to get a bag of food for our cat here at home. Upon walking in I was blasted a horrible smell of feces and pinesol. The staff was sort of ignorant and didn't care about what I had to say about a defective product. We went to the aisle with the bag of cat food we wanted, but we checked every bag, and each one smelled stale or rotten, and upon pressing on the bags, to check for an airtight seal, ALL of the bags were letting out air and a rancid smell of stale cat food. The floors were very dirty, hair was all over the floors, and some areas had messes on them. The store was also very unorganized and prices were higher than they should've been. I have used this store for grooming and doggy day care with good results, however this morning (Sun) I called about leaving my dog for the day at daycare, the reservations desk asked for my name and my dog s name, and I gave this and told that she had been there before, so all was well, I loaded her up and took her down there and then when I got to the daycare area, I was told they were ONLY taking big dogs that day, (my dog is a Yorkie) I then told them that I had scheduled her stay, they told me that reservations has nothing to do with the day care, ???? after returning home, I called the manager, and she said the same thing, that they were independent of the reservations desk. This is a clear case of incompetent, lazy people. I will tell everyone that I know that this is a leaderless bunch of kids who I will not use again, there is a LOT of competition out there and I will be sure to tell all how Petsmart tells you something on the phone and then completely changes direction whenever you get there. read more

I came today pick up my cat at Banfield inside the Petsmart Hurst, TX location. As I was walking in front of the grooming window I saw a young lady that was holding and trimming a small dog with scissors. She dropped the dog on the table and it hit it's little back on the table and another girl caught him before the dog bounced off to the floor. The girl that dropped the dog, made no attempt to try and catch this poor dog. She did not even have a startled look on her face so that right there told me that she did not care. I told the manager about what I had seen and all she said was "I will go and see what happened, thank you." I do not think that they really care about animals at this PetSmart location, they are just there to make a buck. I told the lady at Banfield what had happened and she told me that this was not the first complaint on this girl in the grooming salon. I wished I would have gotten the groomers first name but did not think to. She is young, early to mid 20's and had her hair up in a bun on top of her head, her hair has been colored green. Beware of this groomer!!! Maybe just avoid this salon all together! read more
