No matter what grade of blade they say they will use they end up with a #10 which is the shortest shave. My boy's left ear is so jagged and uneven it is an obvious mistake. According to reviews I am just thankful his ear is still there! My $10k dogs have only been here twice out of desperation not being able to get a booking. elsewhere. Both my dogs are acting very strange each time they eat from their dinner bowl after being brought home from a grooming appointment yesterday. They immediately came home and started rubbing their bodies on anything that would have traction like the carpet or dining bench. Day 2 while trying to eat they immediately run away from the bowl and tuck their butt under as if in pain. No idea how this is related to their extremely shaved bums and chest area, but apparently they are hurting when in the eating position. I noticed when we went to pick them up from Petsmart, neither pup recognized me until we got home. They acted very strange and untrusting. They wanted the hell out of there and in the car ride they were skiddish and paranoid. I also noticed the groomer that worked on them was no where in sight on pick up. Just like last time. No one said a word so I asked how did they do and the response was,"They were nervous." She added that the girl, "didn't like her face touched." One huge female employee was in the corner of the store on her phone not saying a word. No doubt something happened that night at the evening drop off. A reward will be given for information specific to my dogs. I will be looking into what is going on. If there is any sedation or animal cruelty at this store it will be found out and I will certainly pursue charges. Do NOT go here, something is wrong! read more

Everything about their "pitbull" policy needs to be revamped. By treating certain breeds of dogs differently because of their reputation, you are further adding to the narrative that certain dogs are dangerous. My dog IS NOT a pit bull and her vet paperwork backs that up, yet because she "looks" similar to a pit, she gets treated differently and gets locked up away from the other dogs for boarding. They also restructured all the pricing and now force you to play for doggie play time see more on that in the next section. I made a reservation for both of my dogs to stay in a suite. Not only did they change the reservation for my dog who they identified as a pit, but they didn't call me or contact me in any way. This isn't the first time they have done this to my dog either. I won't be bringing her back for them to watch. Meanwhile, on the way out of the store, my lab mix is almost attacked by a German shepherd being trained by a Petsmart employee. We have brought our pug here many times over the last 1.5 years for a basic grooming with nail grinding. Generally, we are always greeted warmly by the staff. Today, my husband took in our pug and has vowed we will never go back there again. There is a very overweight white woman who was grooming our pug today and was being unnecessarily aggressive with him. My husband had to interrupt the service and ask her what her problem was as our pug was visibly upset by her demeanor and roughness. She became confrontational with my husband so he had to ask to speak to her manager. Our pug is pretty submissive and we have always been told he was a pleasure to groom. This is very upsetting for us as we have never had this type of experience there or with any other groomer. I wish my husband had gotten her name so I could warn others to make sure to ask that she not groom their dogs. Maybe she was having a bad day, but that's no excuse to mishandle our fur baby. So beware of this groomer and if she's assigned to your dog, keep a close eye on them during the service. read more

This was after I made the online appt and knew exactly what was included. I said fine because he needed his rear end trimmed. I have to give this location one star more than I did for any other pet store I reviewed for one simple reason: Kool Kats Feline Rescue (http://www.yelp.com/biz/kool-kats-feline-rescue-azle) sets up here on the weekends. You can read my review of Kool Kats for more info, but I've come to this store several times now to meet with Kool Kats (in regards to Marco & Polo). This location also has Banfield Veterinary Services, and though I have not used them, they staff always says hello whenever I walk past... So props for being friendly. But bottom line: If you are thinking of adopting a cat, this is the place to come. Kool Kats is a wonderful organization. But this review is not for Kool Kats, so props to this Petsmart location for being the home of Kool Kats. I love petsmart as a store and have NEVER had a problem with the grooming services, as I frequently take my dog to a different location during the school year. When I went in to drop him off, they of course checked to see if there were any problem areas or matting. After waiting 10 minutes for them to throughly inspect my dog without any communication, I asked what was the problem. They said it appeared to be matting, which I knew it was not as my great pyrenees just has a thick double coat. A different associate came over and confirmed my thoughts that it is not matting but he just has a lot of fur. After dropping him off, I get a call almost exactly an hour after saying to pick him up saying he needs to be rescheduled for a morning appointment due to compacting and the time it would take to groom him. Upon asking for further elaboration to what "compacting" entailed, the associated summated it to the word, "matting." When I got there I requested to speak to the assigned groomer, Adrian, yet he was nowhere to be found. Three associates gathered around me to explain that groomer Adrian had spent "an hour" brushing him alone and therefore he would need an all day appointment. When asking whether or not there was matting and if they could point out the exact areas, the associate corrected herself and stated it was compacted due to the thick nature of my dog's fur. Nevertheless, I did not get answers/explanation from the groomer himself, incorrect terminology was used to explain the situation therefore escalating it, and my dog did not end up getting groomed. :) P.S. I brushed my dog when I got home to see the situation for myself and had absolutely NO difficulty in doing so. read more

Should have read the reviews. There is a groomer who should not be working at this place. I was there last week and the groomer, whose name starts with a J, was being so mean to this beautiful dog, which looked like a white with some brownish/blackish pittbull. I have always disliked pittsbulls, I was not aware they can be so loveable until I saw this sweet pitt there. All this girl (?) wanted was some love and comfort from J, who was being so ugly to this dog. If you love your dog, do not let J touch your baby. J was so frustrated because the pitt wanted to lick her hands. J just left the room and left the dog stranded high on the lease-really! The dog is the one who needs a break! They are not very knowledgeable about animals. Anyway, back to my dog, when I got there her tongue was hanging out from the lease being way too high, practically hanging her. But the two employees that were working on my dog did not notice because they were too busy talking about their schedules and getting time off for their concert. They need permanent time off, is what they need. They absolutely do not like their jobs!! This place is not pet friendly at all. Do not go there and most of all keep them away from J!! read more

Took my dog in last Saturday for a shave. They shaved him, no blending of shave to his head. Looks horrible! They also knicked him in several spots and he has long scratch on his back. He didn't start acting somewhat normal till 3 days after. Don't know what happened to him there... will never be back! read more

My 5 month old Great Dane loves the daycare/bootcamp and grooming. She walks in with tag wagging and I see other pups doing the same.

The first time they groomed my dog was great.. she looked like a show dog when I picked her up! So I took her back again to see the same groomer, Komfert, and I got her hair cut a little shorter since it's warmer out and specifically asked them to trim her ears and tail which they said they would since that's included. They didn't. They didn't even give her a bath. I picked up a dirty dog that didn't even smell clean. My dog was also terrified the second time.. I figured it was just her anxiety.. but she also had a cut on one of her pads when I picked her up so I'm thinking there's more to it than anxiety. Normally I cut my own dogs hair but was so amazed by the grooming they gave her the first time that I took her back. She won't be back now. I have very minimal experience in grooming dogs but can do better than them. read more

I dropped my dog off for a groom and they did such a whack-job. The first time was great but this time it looks like a child with safety scissors groomed my dog. I had to cut a lot of his fur when he got home because of how uneven it all was. We will go somewhere else next time. read more

We have been taking our dog Toby to this petsmart for grooming since we got her she is 7 now. They now her are very patient & good with her since she has Addison's disease. FIRST They tried to tell me my dog wasn't the breed that she is and also they did my dog so dirty, been going to the one on Euless with the groomer Amanda (best groomer) and had no problems (even with the breed I originally put her as, BTW) but here they cut her to the BRIM and upcharged me (saying she was something else that she's not) I told Katie (the groomer) to do Teddy Bear hair cut and she didn't do that but shaved her completely bald and I showed up when she was exactly ready and the groomer was no where to be found to tell me any complications as to why she shaved her completely bald... Terrible experience today April 16 2023 was with my kids after a very sad death of a long time goldfish and we came as a family to look for some new fishes had a few questions and a woman named Kaylee "helped" us, She looked very annoyed by the questions and when I try to choose a fish, she try to question me if I even had a tank for it, I get some of them require bigger tanks, but she made it sound like the fish was going to grow overnight when they're already in a 1 × 1 tank probably there for months when I can literally buy a tank by its size as it grows. So basically she refused me a sale, I asked another woman for kaylees name some obese girl with a nose ring, and she was also very rude too trying to justify her ugly attitude giving a sorry excuse because it's Sunday and its "busy" that has nothing to do with it. We are all human and work on weekends and that's a very a sorry excuse ,that does not mean they have the right to be rude and refusing me a sale. Very poor customer service. If they don't like their job, they should look for a different one. Terrible experience, came with a positive attitude and came out with a very negative one. And I should've known better because as soon as we walked in all eyes were on us and it was giving a very racist vibe, no one greeted us and even tried to help us we had to approach someone for help. My little guy has been going to this PetSmart for a few years now. He is a chiweenie that hates to have his paws touched let alone nailed trimmed. Thankfully we got connected with Kelly, I told her of his quirks and she took her time getting to know him and making sure he felt safe. Now she is the only person that he will allow to do his nails. . .Kelly is amazing. . .she does not only an awesome job with his nails but makes him feel loved and cared for. I go to Petsmart to get my dog treats and fish supplies. This Petsmart is a nice store only beef I have is the fish department is bad. The fish tanks are full of snails. And you do not want to get snails in your fish tank. They are very hard to wipe out once you get them. So I recommend not buying fish at the Petsmart if you do be very careful of the snails plus you might get snail eggs that will hatch later in your tank. You may think snails are not bad but they are. They will multiply like crazy and take over. They need to shut done the fish tanks until they get the snails removed Now the rest of the store is good plenty of items for pets to buy. absolutely terrible, horrible place to take your furbaby to get groomed. they charge you for services you didn't know about. they are refusing to groom my gran-furbaby, that he is too old & difficult to groom, even though they even admitted to me that they have other difficult furbabies. when i would pick him up, he was usually still wet and his nails were different lengths. i kept taking him there because they we convieant & they didn't tell me apparently issues that they were having with him. but they never had a issue accepting my generous tips. i can't stress enough on how bad a place this is. don't take your furbabies there, please read more

This review is for the GROOMING SALON. I have a little chiweenie that is extremely touchy when it comes to his paws being touched. I took him into this location a few years back and he was placed with Kelly. I told her of his quirk and she completely understood. She took her time and talked to him while she was working on his nails. It took a couple of visits but now he has no problem going in to get his nails done. Taking my standard poodle on vacation got her hair and nails done... get her home take her harness off... none of her hair is even.. you can see the marks from the razor. The top of her head is was slanted and her face was only partially cut... I complain and get my money back... now my dog is banded from this location?!? They messed up and now she can't come back?!? The overwhelming stench when you walk in is more than it being a "pet store". The store looks disheveled and dirty. If I didn't have to get the prescription dog food they have here, I would've walked out immediately. We made a quick trip to the restroom, where I was hit in the face yet again, this time with mold or mildew, it made my eyes water. The kids couldn't hold it, so I told my boys not to touch anything. ** in photos you can see the air vent in the restroom** We went to get the prescription food and everything was in the wrong places, which the food looks a lot a like, but price varies greatly. We headed to the checkout where the cashier was new or overwhelmed. My 2 year old kept trying to show her the dog toy he picked out and she just kept telling him to put it on the belt, she was immediately annoyed. He just wanted her to acknowledge it was cool, thankfully the lady behind us noticed his disappointment and reciprocated the excitement. At that point I was just ready to pay and go. Unfortunately, this was not the case, the food didn't ring up( with the cashier huffing and puffing) she called the supervisor to come over. Where they then, were both short and flustered at having to type in the UPC. It took about 10 mins to check out one bag of food and a toy. I am posting regarding the groomer at Petsmart- Particularly about an employee named KInni as well as most of the staff in the dog grooming place. No one greeted us. I had a 4:00 express appointment to have 2 dogs bathed and combed with teeth brush. I got there at 3:45 to be told they would not accept our animals until 4:00 when the other groomer was due into work- which is ridiculous. I waited until 4:00 and walked back in to the grooming establishment- no one greeted me once again. At 4:10 I asked what was taking so long- they said well the other groomer is not here so you have to wait- we can not accept the dog yet. The other groomer came be bopping in at 4:15 late. Terrible customer service- none of the workers are friendly and no one had smiles- I will be calling corporate as well! I do not usually review a chain store unless I get either horrible or super awesome service. I raw feed my dogs and don't put any poisons on them so this sort of pet store really has nothing to offer me except a specific item I was looking for. I am a tiny woman and I walk my 5 dogs twice a day and often encounter off leash dogs. One of my big dogs is not okay with another big dog rushing up to her while on leash (she is fine off leash). So I need to carry protection! I called on Friday to inquire if they had Petsafe Spray Shield (it is not harmful to dogs but scares off an approaching aggressive dog). The person I spoke with said they had only 2 left and said he would put 1 in the managers office. Saturday morning I stopped in and the guy who I am assuming is a manager knew exactly who I was and what was in the managers office waiting for me. I was in and out in 2 minutes! Okay I come here a lot and this is ALWAYS a problem. There is an older lady with red/orange hair who is always at the registers and she doesn't NOT know how to stop talking. At this point I'm so annoyed because it hold up the line and if she finds someone who is interested in talking, she'll talk for 20 minutes and it's annoying. I needed to get in somewhere quick because I'm going on vacation and told them i wanted my doodle TRIMMED. i came back and didn't even recognize my dog because they SHAVED him. Shaved him completely down. And then their explanation was because he had a few mats. They took it upon themselves to shave my curly, long haired dog. Not to mention they said my dog was aggressive??? Hes the sweetest doodle and for him to be mean or whatever you hVe to be seriously hurting him.
