I love "The Groom Room" and so does our Schnauzer Pepper! I totally trust everyone there, including the nice receptionist! This is the only groomer I have ever taking our 5 year old Pepper to! The visits are by appointment, which means that the service is quick and Pepper does not have to stay in a kennel all day! It takes about 1.5 hours - and I can pick her back up! Oh my gosh, I love this place! I was in the market for a new groomer after my previous one said they would no longer take my dog due to his "behavior". Ouch, okay. A family member found this groomer for me and I'm so glad he did. I have a 2 year old Labradoodle and a 7 month old Aussiedoodle. My Labradoodle is considered "reactive" dog. He barks at most things but has never bitten or attacked anyone. He's a very large dog so when he does bark he is incredibly loud. My Aussiedoodle is a breeder surrender rescue and she is very skiddish around most people. James worked with both of my dogs and he did amazing! My dogs looked absolutely fantastic and I'm so impressed with the word that was done. He said both of my dogs were so sweet and I could tell he was genuine. Can't wait to bring them back for their next groom! **CORRECTION: Crystal worked with my Aussiedoodle and James worked my Labradoodle. Both groomers did AMAZING jobs. I've been a client for 7 years now and I honestly don't know why I have continued to take my dogs here. I guess because it was convenient. But enough is enough. While they do a good job at grooming my dogs for the most part, the people in the front are always rude and have something negative to say. The last few times they have cut my dogs face that takes me weeks to clear up with medication. This last time when I picked up my dog, they had the nerve to say my dog's face was oozing and I better never bring him back there like that again. My dog's face wasn't oozing when I brought him in!! You once again cut him causing that. I definitely don't recommend. In response to the message below, it's not an infection. He has seen a vet. One of your groomers cut one of "schnauzer bumps" on his face. Like I said above, I have to re-treat if every time he gets groomed because they continually cut it open. I have never had a conversation with anyone about it there until the nasty comment was made when he was picked up the other day. read more

For as great as the first interaction was......this time when we went was ridiculous. we didn't even make it in the door and the owner was incredibly rude about picking our dog poop up on the ground when he literally just dropped it. We hadn't even had time to try to grab a bag to pick it up and she made it a point to stick her head out the door and yell at us to clean the shit up!!! Then shut the door in my husband's face to the building because it was an employee entrance instead of just kindly referring to it as employee entrance literally slammed the door in his face. It was an incredibly rude interaction and made me wonder how she treats the dogs if she's already in a shitty mood and acted that way to humans why she wouldn't be just as ugly to the animals that she supposed to be taking care of .... Pretty sad actually for Customer Service business!!!!! This was my husband's first time bringing him to the groomer, but the third time we've taken our dog there and every time we go the owner is just rude.... Taking into account how you speak to people is just as important as the service your providing because if you make me feel like you don't care, makes me wonder how my animal feels when you're around!!! read more

There's good and bad. The good is that my girl is clean and has an overall good cut. Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good for me. I've been growing out my girls top knot for months and all the progress was lost when the groomer gave her "bangs". This could totally have been a misunderstanding or a simple mistake. That being said, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect the expert to double check the specifications of a groom especially when they were gone over prior to the groom. What was left of her top knot was SO tight and tangled. That was really upsetting to me and there just is no excuse for that. I had to cut the band out. I've never had that problem when doing her hair at home so I'm guessing he did it really fast or sloppily. There were a couple other minor issues; nails not filed and I didn't get her collar back with her (had to go back to get it). Not a huge deal but all together it made for a very unpleasant grooming experience. So, maybe not the best groomer for long haired dogs? Or maybe they just didn't take enough time to work on her I would like to add to this. After posting this exact review elsewhere the owner responded in a very unprofessional manner. As a people manager, her behavior and lack of the basic customer service skill set in this field is the exactly quality I steer clear from hiring. She is the only reason that I will be telling my friends and colleagues to no longer support this establishment. Gabrielle, you continue to make this business look bad. I thanked you for calling and reminding me of the appointment. I work in customer service and realize it's an inconvenience. As I mentioned, I could rush over within ten mins and apologized. At no point in time did I place blame. Your tone and rude manner is what drove me away. You forget who pays your bills working in this industry. And who knows how my dogs would be treated now that I know the type of person you are. As a mom I know you understand when your little one gets sick and has to be rushed to the ER. This is the type of human understanding clients need, especially when they are still willing to support the business you work for. I've never had issues prior. Only with your customer service. The Groom Room did a great job on my dogs! I have a big dog who is about 2 years old and an angel, and they did a great job on him. The truly impressive part is that they managed to give my 6 months old doodle mix a haircut and make him look presentable -- actually, not just presentable, but heckin' adorable. The groomers will even call you during the appointment if they have a question or want permission (i.e. they had to shave down the big dog's tail because it was matted, and wanted to make sure that was okay) The only downside is that I haven't LOVED any of the interactions that I've had with their front office staff, but they are efficient and get the job done. It's never been anything downright negative, either, and nothing I could put my finger on; I think my vibe just doesn't mesh with theirs. My favorite part is that I can book online at any point. Regardless, office interactions are minimal -- most of it is taking the dog in and dropping them off. I can tell that the groomers that I've interacted with like dogs and are happy to be working with them, which is also always a plus at a groomer! Their prices are also decent -- I used to take the big dog to a home groomer nearby, but the Groom Room charges the same prices, for a higher quality end result, and appointments that aren't 3 months out. My pekingese's normal vet and groomer is Petsmart, but we noticed that he often left very stressed and they also did a very messy trim for him last summer so we decided it was time for a change. I have 2 female Shih tzu's, very well behaved... They get a little hesitant when it comes to baths and a groom but many dogs do. They aren't biters or scratchers. This place rocks! I've taken my 3 yr old Maltese and our 6 month old rescue terrier mix there twice and what an amazing job they did. My Maltese came out whiter than ever with the most perfect haircut and Frankie got a little red Mohawk. Not to mention, I accidentally thought my appt was for 9 when it was really for 12, but they were cool about it and just kenneled them there until they could get them started. I love this place! First time leaving a negative review, however I feel like this is warranted. I have been taking my dogs to the groom room for years and always tip well to the groomers because they do a great job. On Friday my dog had to have emergency surgery and then it was the weekend and Christmas so they were closed. I called today to cancel my one dogs appointment for the next day (24 hr in advance) because he obviously can't get groomed because he is recovering for the next two weeks. The women I spoke to, who I assume is the new owner as they are under new management, told me I had to pay a cancellation fee of half the groom because it wasn't 48 hours in advance. I told her my situation and with it having been the holidays I couldn't call earlier because they were closed. Well, she told me I should've called Friday because they were open. Sorry the first thing on my mind wasn't to call the groomer to cancel my dogs appointment the next week when my dog was having emergency surgery. The attitude and lack of empathy was very loud. It's unfortunate because I do love the groomers there but the fact she was rude and unwilling to find some kind of resolution was off putting and I will not be returning.
