Been to Petsmart both grooming and the store many times. Seems everytime we go the experiences get worse. Someone needs to tell your employees when you insult someones dog you insult its owner as well. We are sick of the pot shots and always looking for ad ons or a way to upscharge! If youre employees are not happy with your rates thats between you and them we already agreed to a price at the time we booked the appointment! If you cant groom and bathe a 45 pound dog without complaining or claiming you need more help then maybe you need a career change! We have had our dog to the vet several times and she is not overweight she is a cockapoo and a great animal. I dont walk in your store and tell your people they are FAT or OVERWEIGHT and I dont appreciate it when at 7:30 in the morning 1st thing out of your peoples mouth should have been GOOD MORNING not hey your dog is FAT and insinuating they may need a upcharge! One of our past experiences they upcharged us $10 for lifting the dog on the table (45 lbs) . We are VERY dissatisfied and wont be back! Teach your people some cooth and customer service! I could go off on there appearance which was VERY unprofessional but will save that for another day! We hate to write bad reviews and let it slide last time this time you get it! Took our German Shepherd in to be Bathed, Brushed, and Nails ground. She was stinking really badly. Picked her up and she looked better but when I got her in the truck I noticed a little odor. Was not sure if it was her until I got home. She was not as strong but I could still smell her. When I petted her my hands stunk, too. Her hair looked like it had been brushed a bit but back on her hind-quarters she had had a lot of under fur bunching up. As I petted her and ran my hand across her flank, tufts of hair were flying out. She obviously had been brushed to some extent but not adequately as there was still fur flying. $64 for the whole thing and I think they brushed her a bit, maybe put something on her fur a little to help with some odor but not sure. If they bathed her it was a lousy job as she still stinks. I can smell her when she walks up behind me in my office. It does appear they did her claws. Very disappointed. We have had fairly good results in the past but will probably find somewhere else to go now. read more

Location: Independence, MO on Bolger Rd I had an incredibly disappointing experience at PetSmart. This is the second horrible encounter. The employees were unprofessional and outright disrespectful, specifically Taylor and Katelynn. When I asked a simple questions to the receptionist about their fees, Taylor and Katelynn stood by laughing right in my face and making faces to each other as if I wasn't even there. They exchanged looks and made faces while discussing my questions, which felt extremely rude and demeaning. I was shocked by how they handled what should have been a basic, courteous interaction. I've had issues with Taylor in the past informing me that a fee would be $15, only to pick up my pet and the price hiked to $40. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, and I won't be returning to this location or probably any other PetSmart if I don't have to. If they would treat me horribly, right in front of my face, these aren't people I'm trusting with my pet. read more

I went in and tried to get a couple of fish. The lady first said she couldn't sell me a certain fish because they recommended it to be in a specific size tank. Then I was told that plecos and khilo loaches don't get along and the pleco usually will kill them. I know that's bull crap because for over decades, I've never had that problem! The last fish I was trying to get, they really didn't want to sell because they felt that my tank wasn't going to be good enough. I will never buy anything from this location ever! I've raised and had fish for so long that they treated me like I didn't know what I was doing. It sucks because I wasted my time coming here when I should've gone to Petland or another pet store. I would never recommend this place to anyone! If this is petsmart's way of doing business, then I'll never shop at one ever again! To top it off fish, they recommend that they are in certain size tanks that they will not sell, are in small tanks separated, so their recommendations they don't even follow! read more

I take my pup Duke for grooming, he's a pretty easy going guy until you get to the nails, today I picked him up and he was all smiles and SO handsome! But the best part was I looked down and could see his nails were trimmed, we know he can be a pain but it brought tears to my eyes that they gave him a chance! Shelby did such an amazing job! It's so nice not to worry about his nails continuing to get too long to where it's unhealthy for him. Thanks so much you guys read more

Took Bella for the first time to get groomed and all pampered and I couldn't be more impressed with the service I received and the service my dog received. The staff was very friendly and I could tell it was an environment full of animal lovers. I got Bella the Pawdicure Plus package which was 26.00 dollars. It included a nail trim, nail grind, ear cleaning, brush and hair removal, spritz, teeth cleaning and a pink bandana. Bella felt really soft and her nails were awesome! Will go back! read more

Bought a Kong XL leash the other day from the liberty location and it didn't work the next day. I haven't been using a leash all week because I just haven't had the time to go exchange it. In liberty they threw away my old leash, packaging to the new one, and never gave me a receipt. Thank you to the older gentleman in there for switching it out for me at no charge. I have always liked the grooming salon inside. This peticular location also sells kittens! Which my daughter likes to look at. The store was clean, which is important because some locations smell from the combination of animals being sold. I wish their products were priced a little lower though. read more

1) Staff in the Fish department were not very knowledgeable as to what species worked best with others, nor did they mention any advice for steps to follow when setting up a fish tank including introducing the fish, both to one another and to a new environment. 2) They had a very limited selection of fish to choose from and there were several dead fish in the tanks. It is understandable that fish die, but you would think they would spend a little time cleaning the tanks to make them more presentable to potential customers. 3) Also, the blonde lady at checkout could definitely use a lesson in manners. Not only did she badmouth her own coworker to us, the customers, but she also made us feel dumb because we weren't experts in regards to starting an aquarium. Excuse me, but it is the store employee's job to be knowledgeable enough to properly inform us. That being said, I do not think we will be returning to this store in the future. read more

I've been using PetSmart Grooming for an extended period of time now. My Groomer is Alayna who does a fantastic job making my fat eight year old Maltese beautiful. I've had dogs over the years and until I began using PetSmart my pups had to be dragged out of the car to go inside then I would feel terrible all day for making them go. I'm not going to name the establishment but my Maltese got his head trimmed up to look like a Schnauzer. The location was so great for me but the results not so great. Freddie DRAGS me into PetSmart for his appointment and Alayna sends him home happy and beautiful. I've watched the other Groomers work and I'm very impressed with the skill they show at providing a great groom while being so patient and kind. Some dogs do not want their feet touched. I've watched a few times and they accomplish what I know I can't and the dog wasn't stressed or freaking out Like I've seen in other salons. I went to pet smart to purchase a new animal with a friend, I went to the checkout with everything we needed and the woman starts at the register with "I don't have all day" and "come on guys" and once we approach she register she gave us a very dirty look and was very rude, not sure if it's because we're young, But once we were there I was informed that there would be a wait for another associate. Once we got there she informed us that we had the wrong bedding, that stated it was specifically for the animal. So I put it back to pick out their recommended bedding and then we're informed the habitat is to small even though the habitat we picked out was larger then the tank they're kept in previously. Still continuing to be very rude. I had decided to take my business elsewhere. So I purchased just the habitat Because of the listed sale, once I arrived to our car I see they didn't even give us the discount that came with the sale. Our family cat was groomed at Petsmart yesterday, and we received a phone call that the cat had died while being groomed. The person calling claimed that the cat had a blood clot that killed him. Really?!!, groomers go to vet school now, and have X-ray vision. Our belief is that the cat was strangled somehow while in the groomers care, and that they were trying to cover their backsides with a lame excuse. Whatever you do, don't take your beloved pet to Petsmart, or not so smart, to be groomed. This was an obvious case of neglect on the groomers part. I have been reading lots of other reviews about people not being happy with their service. Love your pet, DO NOT take them to Petsmart to be groomed!!! read more
