When it comes to pet supplies, even though there are quite a few options in town, PetSmart is the place we go. We feed our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and our Sheltie limited ingredient food. PetSmart has a large variety of limited ingredient options, and we switch up once in a while, but stay in the same brand family. I think I counted 4 aisles of dog food at this location, as well a 2 or 3 other aisles of treats and snacks for your favorite four-legged friend. Along with that, they have all of the accessories you'll need for the canine of your choice, including flea/tick treatments, collars & leashes, bedding, booties, and toys. More feline-friendly than canine? They have just about as much stuff for the cats as they do dogs, so basically copy/paste the previous paragraph and add litter and litter boxes. Speaking of cats, they also have an adoption area where you can take home the cat the catches your attention -- or the cat the chooses you -- from any of one- to two-dozen that they have at any time. Frequently on weekends they'll host an adoption event and bring in even more. The options don't end with dogs and cats, supply items for aquariums, birds, lizards.... The staff here has always been helpful, and at one point one of the employees helped solve an issue with one of our dogs that our vet wasn't able to, so don't downplay experience over education. We had our boy at the vet 4 times and his problem persisted. This employee asked a couple of questions, said she thought he had acquired an allergy to chicken and to change up his food. Within three weeks he was all better. A number of PetSmart locations in the area have animal hospitals and day care available, which is a very convenient service if you're traveling or need to get out of town unexpectedly and your regular pet sitter isn't available. Add to that a grooming service and PetSmart is pretty much your one-stop shop for all the things that live in your house that have more then 2 legs...or...um...gills? read more

love petsmart I've bought fish from here and fish supplies multiple times and they are all good quality I love looking at the animals they have and I've always wondered why they don't sell rabbit or guinea pigs. Ive seen all the small animal supplies and they have everything for them I have a rabbit currently and would love to buy another but no place nearby actually sells rabbits... it would be amazing if they had more variety of animals then rats hamsters fish and other things but I would love rabbits to be sold here read more

We made a quick visit for fish food and learned they do not sell it in bulk like other pet stores. Since we were there we grabbed a packaged bag but it was much more expensive so PetSmart won't be our go-to for our pond needs. Today we also struggled to find help in the store and noticed other customers with the same issue. Most workers were at the front of the store hanging together but if you were brave enough to interrupt their conversation they'd walk to the section you came from ... I've been coming to this PetSmart for the last decade. I got my pup here from Woodstock Animal Foundation. And while I do most of my food and supplies shopping from Feeder's Supply, the main reason I come back to PetSmart is for the PetsHotel. I use PetsHotel for all our boarding and daycare or daycamp needs. The hotel staff there knows and loves my boy like their own. He trusts this staff and he hardly trusts anyone but his humans at home! I know he'll get the best care and have safe fun playing with the other pups. Since he also goes to Banfield Pet Hospital, which is also inside PetSmart, I feel secure knowing that his doctor is close by. I also love that I can drop him off for boarding and get him an exit bath and nail grind so that his grooming is taken care of before I bring him home. You can book boarding via their app, which is a nice convenience. You also now earn loyalty points on purchases and day camp visits. And if you watch their calendar for special play dates, they offer freebies like photos and doggie ice cream for the day. read more

While I'm not currently a pet owner, I'll always be a pet-lover. In the past we've had several dogs and a variety of other small pets but none currently. Anyway, we were headed to my son's house and I knew his Corgi would be excited to see us and I wanted to stop and get some doggie treats. This was my first time to visit a PetSmart in a number of years. Even when I had a dog, PetSmart was not usually on my radar. Well, PetSmart is BIG and carries a lot of stuff. The only problem was finding bags of treats in smaller quantities. They had very large bags of treats but I only needed a small bag. And the staff was of no help. If you've ever been in a PetSmart store, it's generally organized with CAT stuff down one side and DOG stuff down the other side. When I inquired about smaller sized bags of dog treats, the clerk pointed to row 2 of the CAT section. When I questioned why I was being pointed to a section that was clearly labeled as CAT SUPPLIES - the clerk responded and said "you want dog treats, right??" -- GO FIGURE. I guess if you have pets and buy in larger quantities this might be the place for you. But if you just need a small bag of doggie treats and/or a doggie pull toy -- go somewhere else. I am.very disappointed that it is not very clean at all. Took my dog to Bainfield there and couldn't even.sit on the benches. This was first visit of the morning. Also under the aisles of shelving (where the pet supplies for sale)looks as though they haven't been swept in ahwhile. We t to use the restrooms and there were cobwebs in the corners of the floor with some.spiders lots of dust.... faucets were pretty disgusting. I don't usually like PetSmart- any PetSmart- but I was nearby and needed to purchase something for my puppies. As soon as I walk in, I can see dog poop on the floor. There are several clean up stations around the store, so I assume an employee will clean it up. Well, I go and look for my items (they were out of stock, no biggie, I'll order it offline, where prices are much cheaper)- but when I am done (about 30 minutes later) the poop is still not clean. I go to tell an employee that there is dog poop on the ground, and she tells me 'oh, there are several clean up stations.' I inform her that it's not my dogs poop- I don't have a dog with me- and she shrugs. I tell another employee, and he says 'okay' without actually doing anything about it. The dog poop was still there when I left. PetSmart has horrible customer service, and horrible prices. You're better off ordering from Chewy.com or going to Feeders Supply. read more

They were not busy and had several employees that could quickly trim our dogs nails, but kept putting us off. They didn't quote us a time frame and just let us stand around waiting and about five minutes in told us to wait outside without quoting a time to us at all. I had to ask before they even gave us a time frame. They said they would be done in 15 minutes but then exceeded that time. All while two grooming employees stood by without doing anything. Extremely unprofessional and horrible customer communication. The supervisor and store manager should talk to all the groomers and make them aware of time management and professionalism. I was at this store for the first time and was pleasantly surprised (because of the 3 star reviews) It was clean and everyone was helpful. There seemed not to be many employees on the floor to help customers. It was very busy and was only around 10:30 am Saturday. Lots of barking dogs (annoying to me a cat owner). The item I wanted was priced much higher than what was on their website. I asked a cashier about why that was and we spoke about the product a bit, how it sells were there many returns, etc. I decided to purchase the litter system and was given a "price match". The box was pretty bulky so she suggested I bring my car around and she would load it in. Very nice. All employees were masked - too bad more people weren't. I've been going into this Petsmart for the last nine years and although all of the employees are knowledgeable and friendly I find it refreshing that Mitchell is so knowledgeable for as young as he is. I've got For parrots to dogs and a guinea pig and no matter what I ask Mitchell about he's got the right answer it's also extremely refreshing that he's so upbeat on a nonstop basis! Everyone is stressed over the pandemic and other issues in our society but I can guarantee five minutes speaking with Mitchell and you'll be reminded that there is hope for humanity he's a great kid!!! read more

I have brought my dog to several Petsmart stores for grooming in the Louisville area due to school and my dog in addition to my friend's dog came back from this groomer with cuts on their neck, under my dog's arm and legs. So they cut my dog in one spot and in stead of figuring out the problem they continued to cut him, so they either need additional training or don't care about the well being of these dogs. I will not be returning. P.S my dog has had positive dog report cards following every grooming appointment. Please keep this in mind when taking your loved pet here. read more

This PetSmart location has gone above and beyond for my dog Piper. We started using the Doggy Daycamp last week while we were moving to make the transition a little easier (and more fun) for our pup. She has loved going and always comes home worn out from playing all day! Today, I got a call from Megan informing me that our dog started her first heat cycle. Understandably, she was unable to stay in the room with the other dogs. I am so impressed with the fact that instead of calling for me to come get her, they gave her a large room with a TV and a treat! He went three days before he would go to the bathroom, would not walk, and his eye is very inflamed with pus. I have no idea what the grooming salon did to him but never again!!!! I had a wonderful experience here getting my elderly rabbits nails trimmed (when nobody else around here would or could) I was desperate at this point and i couldnt have done it without the help of an employee named Jasmine. (please give her a raise or award for her kindness) she was the only person with the skill of trimming small animals nails. she was so kind and patient with my rabbit. I can't even hold my rabbit the way she had without my skittish rabbit flipping out. Jasmine was so gentle and so lovely, and kind of showed me how she did it and told me she would help me in the future to prevent my rabbits nails getting that long again. I can't tell you how thankful I am! this is my home store where I do all my pet shopping, I love every employee they are all attentive and kind and helpful. VERY UPSET with our dogs stay at the Wesport Rd Pet Smart Hotel. Our dog went in absolutely happy and healthy! When we picked him up after 5 days his scrotum was swollen and raw. Called and spoke with an employee and they said this sometimes happens to the male dogs because of the cleaning solution they use. When asked about treating my dog at their cost the employee told me I had to wait for a manager to call back. Days went by no one called back. I called back, Manager Micheal answered. I explained the problem to him. He didn't seem apologetic other than the fact he was sorry for not getting the message to call me back initially. SMH. He agreed to have my dog treated at their expense. Now my dog has to wear a cone and take 2 different pills for the next 10 days. He's very uncomfortable and has spent his days and nights whimpering. He doesn't want to really sit since he left the Pet Smart Hotel. He's MISERABLE!! NEVER AGAIN! The manager admitted this has happened before! Nothings been done about it. THE POSSIBILITY OF THIS HAPPENING NEEDS TO BE DISCLOSED TO PET FAMILIES. Had my family known, we may have chosen to take our dog elsewhere!!! read more

After calling many places and being told they were full, I called Petsmart and gave them the dates and number of pets needing to be boarding. The rep. said "let me check" a& pulled up our account and said the pet info wasn't in there. She spent the next 7 minutes asking for detailed info about each pet. I was relieved that we had found a place! If only....after a 10 minute phone call, she said they didn't have availability!!! Why go through all that if they were booked? I have been a customer for PetSmart for a long, long time. I even had a job at PetSmart as a manager so I'm a big fan, just not of this location. I'll stick to the outer loop location or literally any other location but I will never be back at this one. I understand how the policies work as I mentioned above, I was a manager at PetSmart for a year. I know how the return policy works and I understand how tedious the process is, so I try to always keep my receipt or use my treats account, however sometimes my husband doesn't always use the right phone number, it happens. We recently got some new reptiles and got some lights and some domes. He purchased a dome that was kind of pricy ($45) and unfortunately did not use the treats account and did not save the receipt, however per the PetSmart policy you can make a return without a receipt, you just need an ID and you'll receive store credit, which is all I asked for. I didn't expect cash, I specifically asked for store credit because I was going to turn right around and buy a different dome. The cashier that was there, some blonde lady that's been at PetSmart for 13 years said that I couldn't do the return and I asked if the policy has changed and she said no, you can't do returns on things like this (high dollar items) and even spoke to a manager who also said no. I showed her the policy and the exceptions on the policy that did not apply to my return I wanted to make, and she was rude and said this type of return wasn't a thing. It was just absolutely absurd to me that I couldn't do the return when I returned another pricy dome that I did use my treats with, so I obviously have no intention of trying to pull one over on PetSmart. Just poor customer service and a shitty experience and I just won't recommend this location to anyone, no biggie. read more

As a cat owner I am always needing some sort of supplies for them. I've been to multiple other pet stores for food and litter. As far as litter goes I can get what I typically buy at the same price almost anywhere, but finding the Purina Pro plan food I have to go to a specialty store. PetSmart seems to have the best price most of the time even if it's only by a couple dollars. I am also a pet perks member so I get coupons emailed to me from time to time that help me save money. So these are a few reasons I choose PetSmart. I can't say this is the best ever PetSmart but it is decent, located close to home, and usually very clean. However this time I did almost step in dog poop in the parking lot that someone didn't clean up. That's not the stores fault as they provide doggie bags and garbage cans which I appreciate them having. read more

Took our dog to get a bath and it cost $75 for a bath, nail grinding and teeth brushed. Way overpriced. On top of that- when we went to drop him off we watched one of the groomers (Ciara) treated a dog they were working on terribly. She was getting aggressive and yelling at the dog as the dog almost fell off the table multiple times. It was horrible to watch. All the other employees just sat back and allowed it to happen for an extended period of time before stepping in. I'd never trust them again to take care of my dog- if you want your dog to be treated well, go elsewhere. Large store and good selection. Prices are consistently higher than those at Feeder's Supply, online or my fav local pet shop. This location has a boarding place, doggie day care option, grooming, training and a vet so it can be a one-stop kinda shop if that's what you are looking for. They have a pet adoption area which is awesome. The training area is very small and centered in the shop which limits its usefulness for dogs that might be nervous, reactive or simply need a little space to get used to the situation. The daycare is all indoors, the dogs look pretty happy but it isn't a big indoor/outdoor facility either. No "bully breeds" allowed, regardless of age or temperament testing, breed being determined by appearance and including mixes. I sometimes stop here for this or that since is convenient for me but I rarely end up buying anything. Finding a worker for assistance is hard, usually I end up waiting in line to ask the cashier, and about half the time they either don't have the product or the price is so much more than other stores that I buy elsewhere. However, the store is clean, the workers that I have actually dealt with have been pleasant enough, and when things are on sale, they have tons of good stuff to buy. read more

Needed same day appt for small rescue dog that needed shaving. I called their 888#. They made appt same day at 1:30. After arriving a 35 minute road trip, Petco at Springhurst did not have my appt and stated they were booked until end of next week. Proceeded in calling the 888# back and was told the agent that took appt incorrectly entered into old booking system and not new system. I ask them to call the other two locations in town and they were also booked out. All I got was sorry which just doesn't cut it. At least they could have given next visit a discount or free grooming. It was like sorry for your luck. They just lost this customer by the way it was handled. Don't bother replying back with your typical "we're sorry and looking into the matter". Who cares! I own a very large cane corso, and I am very small, so I ventured out to petsmart on Hurstbourne looking for a better harness and a pinch/choker collar for training and safety purposes. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and they assured me the items were returnable if they didn't work out. Unfortunately I needed to return them because they did not fit, and I had spent 60$ on the two items, not to mention thousands in total over a 4 month period alone from this company. Because I live in anchorage now, I decided to return the items at the Westport rd location right by my house. Big mistake. I also brought along his "KONG" Lifetime warranty crate mat which he had torn up within days, and I had been assured I could bring it back within 60 days if need be and the store itself would switch me out easy peasy. Turns out Westport rd location seems to operate completely differently and turned their nose up to me right away. They refused to switch the mat out without asking me when I got it, from which location, or anything at all to show that they were willing to help at all. I was told I had to deal with the brand itself and they had absolutely no involvement. (Even though the other location had already switched me out once before). I was more concerned about the return because I spent 60$ on these items that I cannot use. I had all of the tags, and the petsmart bag it came in but I couldn't find the receipt. I understand that is proof of purchase but this isn't something that doesn't happen often. The cashier was Very cold to me and refused to offer any help, and treated me like I had shop lifted the items. I knew that company policy was to return the items without a receipt for an In-store only gift card, which I happily would've used. The cashier told me absolutely not, so I kindly asked for the manager asssuming maybe she was new or just didn't know all of the possibilities. He too, turned me down and said there was no way to prove I had actually purchased the items. I was sad but I figured I must have beeN wrong about the return policy. Well I just left the Hurstbourne location and they HAPPILY switched the crate Mat out without question, and gave me an in store gift card for the returned items just as I thought was appropriate and according to policy. I spent the gift card right away plus more. I will never be back to the Westport location. No matter where u live, it's not worth being looked at like a liar and refused customer service even though my dog has a puppy plan with the coMpany And all. Hurstbourne it is for me from now on. I like bringing my young German Shepherd in here though to help socialize her, and look for deals, see all the animals, and get my pup a treat or toy...the staff here has always been really nice! 6/2019 We used to love the PetsHotel for our dog, but this last experience left us disappointed. We noticed red drops of blood around her private area when we picked her up. We were hoping it was just scratches from playtime as dogs sometimes have. Turns out it was from her urine. She had a full blown kidney infection which is a result of lack of water or holding the bladder too long. Our pet is a house dog and goes out roughly every 4 to 6 hrs. I can't imagine that was too much to ask. And if they noticed she was refusing water, they should have informed us of such. We won't be returning. Petsmart advertises on their website that they would do facial trim or nail clipping without any appointment necessary. My morkie needed a facial trim so I was just going to stop by and wait while they clip some hair off so he could see. We walked in and I told the person what I needed. She then proceeded to turn around to her crew of about 6 other people saying "can anyone trim his face?" All of her crew just ignored me then she turned around and said they are too busy. So embarrassing. Will never go back there again! I will take my money elsewhere! read more

I try to pop in to this Pet Smart as often as possible. My husband and I mainly go because we liked to check in on the kitty cats. Oh and let's not forget about the pups in the Pet Hotel, I could watch them play all day! The Woodstock Foundation is set up in Pet Smart with cats that need a forever home. I like to donate money as often as I can. I fostered 5 kittens that were too young to be taken by Woodstock, and they helped every step of the way. Pet Smart offers dog training as well as grooming and Vet services. My cat requires a prescription cat food, so I can't buy his food there, but I'll visit any day! They have a great selection of dog and cat toys. You should stop by and make an animals day. You can not be in a bad mood when you see their loving faces. read more

Only reason I keep doing it is because I get a deeper discount buying it online versus going to the store. Have actually started going to Petco more and more lately as they ship to the house for what I need and Petsmart does not. read more
