ZERO STARS!! I had been taking my dog to be bathed at Petsmart for years. Not just the current dog but previous ones. I pay to got the bath and LUXURY The luxury packages is 45$ above the cost of the bath. It includes chosen shampoo, nail grinding, ear cleaning, teeth brushing,nose and paw balm among other things. It used to take 1-2 hours (she's 80lbs) to accomplish these tasks. When I went to drop her off this past Friday I said " you guys haven't been grinding her nails and I really need that done" the person at intake said "oh that's extra did you want to pay for that?" I was astonished! How can you work a job and not know what procedures go with what packages? I said it's included with the luxury package she said oh I'll make a note ( make a note? Make a note to do what you're supposed to???). Then I said her ears have been coming back dirty and she hasn't had the fat folds of her stomach washed thoroughly. She sighed that oh you're one of THOSE people sighs and as she was taking my dog back she said we close today at 5 pm so don't be any later than 4:30 picking her up. What? The hours say close at 8 but that didn't matter her appointment was at 3 so 1 1/2 should be ok to get it done. 37 minutes later they call and say she's done 37 minutes !! 37 !!! I just stopped at the front and asked for the manager and told her all of the above information. She assured me she wanted to make me happy my dog was brought to the front nails had not been ground, I stuck my finger in her ear and it came back waxy and dirty and I did this in front of the manager,she SAW the nasty I said I was not happy and normally don't like to complain but I knew that 37 minutes was not enough time to bathe her and take care of her. The manager said she would arrange for the things to be taken care of and to let my dog go back. Unbeknownst to all of them I am proficient in reading lips due to being deaf. I saw/heard them talking about how I was just being a Karen, that I probably wanted the service free of charge, they told each other they had done the ear cleaning and had done nail grinding. I was FURIOUS. It took them ten minutes and by this time I was so angry I said I would never NEVER use Petsmart for any service. Went in yesterday to see the cats they have for Petsmart Charities because I've been wanting to adopt a cat. The lady I asked if she can help us or find another work who can help automatically starts off with an attitude "well how old are you? You need to be over 21". I tell her my boyfriend & my age and she throws one of the fish decor into a bucket and says "well I'll be right with you". We go over where the cats are while we wait. She opens the door tells us to sit and she'll take the cats out. There are three adorable orange kitties Antonio, Mateo and Nico that I've been stalking online & excited to meet them. She struggling to get them out and decides to just grab the litter box that they're laying in and toss it on the floor so we can see them. All three kitties are scared, nervous and crying. She tells us "I can barley touch them because I'm pregnant". If that's the case why didn't she grab another associate that ISN'T pregnant to help us? Obviously the three orange cats aren't in the mood to play or be around humans. She grabs the litter box and puts them back in there cage. I then ask if we can play with Lorrain, and she kinda huffs about it and grabs her and hands her over to me. Lorrain was a bit scared but slowly warming up. Not even 3 minutes pass and the worker told my boyfriend and I "ok I have to put her away before my boss b*txhes at me". My boyfriend and I were both taken off guard by that comment. 1. Why is there a time limit for customers getting to see, and play with these cats? Knowing that that they can potentially be adopted. 2. Why did this lady think it would be appropriate to use horrible language around us? I was so disappointed and heartbroken. I am happy with this place because of the fish care!!!! Fish are so easily overlooked, and many places hire anyone to do the fish job- but whoever maintains them at this place really makes the effort. There are always casualties with large purchases of fish, especially from inexpensive breeders, but for the most part you ca tell these fish are active and healthy. read more

I just took my pup to be groomed for the first time ever. Nikki was so good to my little girl. She was very detailed when asking me questions about what I wanted for my 10 month old puppy. She didn't try to upsell me on unnecessary services, she only recommended the nail grinder because my dogs claws are black and hard to see where the claw ends. She came out looking and smelling so pretty. I am definitely going back to Nikki, she took great care of my dog and gave her lots of love and attention. read more

Not happy with my Experiance with PetSmart. I came in on 7/14/2019 to get my dog groomed and the groomer said my dog bit her. I never saw any bite marks or anything. They were rough with my dog and the groomer didn't even groom my dog she didn't even try because they said he was bad. I get that but the fact is they shouldn't hire people that don't know what they are doing. We will not be back. Also the dog training is a Joke we took our dog to the training class and she didn't even know what she was talking about she kept saying spray mouth wash in the dog's mouth I have never heard that at all. We are new to this area and made an appointment at PetSmart for our Beagle. She has a couple of things that she's sensitive about which is a blow dry and nail buffing so I let them know. When we took her in, the place was a mess with dog hair everywhere and dogs barking in the room next to the grooming area. People were coming in and out and I could see our dog starting to get anxious with all the noise and congestion. The groomer came out and abruptly started to take off our leash and put theirs on her and our dog got very irritated, barking and growling and even showed her teeth. The groomer said for us to step out so she would calm down so we did and in a few seconds the groomer called us back in and said she would have to cancel the grooming appointment and for us to reschedule when our dog was calmer. We walked away feeling very embarrassed but the more I think about it, I can understand why our dog was so upset. It wasn't a calm environment with all the barking, messy grooming area and people traffic in and out. At our former home, we always took our dog to Petco and she did fine but it wasn't so congested and unkept and the groomer was always very sweet and talked nicely to our dog on arrival. I want to express my feelings for the way I was treated by the grooming clerk, KAREN, in the Mount Juliet, TN. The employee KAREN refused to offer grooming services saying that I was late for the appointment. It's not that she refused, it's his bad attitude and behavior towards me. She smiled and mocked. I came in just before closing on Sunday 6/12/16 to buy dog food and Super Worms. When I got home, there were literally no live worms in the cup. I called and was fortunate enough to get Chuck on the phone, despite being after hours. I explained my circumstance, he went & checked on another cup full, verified they were good, and offered to swap them out. I drive right back, he swapped them out with a smile. So I only made this account to write a review. So there's a groomer there named Kenna. Kenna is the BEST groomer I've ever met in my entire life. She was so kind to me and explained to me the ins and outs of her trade. She made sure I was knowledgeable about everything that was going on. I really wanted to like the groomers at the Mount Juliet PetSmart. We had just moved to the area and I couldn't find another groomer who was available, so I looked into the grooming services at PetSmart. They agreed to groom our dog on short notice which I really appreciated. Also, I must agree with other Yelp reviews that say that this store is clean, big, and offers a lot of services which can be convenient. However, since this would be our young Collie's first trip to the groomer and b/c I had heard horror stories of other Collie owners' experiences w/groomers at PetSmart (one owner returned to find her Collie completely shaved after requesting a simple trim), I decided to play it safe. I decided to schedule him for a basic bath along with a trimming for his paws and ears. I figured this would be pretty straightforward and simple for all parties involved. First I called the store for a quote. I was told that a basic bath was $27 and it would be an additional $7 for the trimming of his paws and ears. I thought $34 was reasonable and my husband was pleased with the price too. So we booked the appointment. I dropped off our dog in the morning. I informed the groomer that our dog was very trusting of people (which is amazing considering he is a rescue) and due to his lack of previous groomer experiences, they were working with a blank slate. I brought along his favorite treats for positive reinforcement and again, to help keep things easy for everyone. The groomer said that the dogs are usually ready to be picked up in 4hrs and they would call when the dog was ready. Again, I thought this was reasonable and left feeling confident that our dog was in good hands. Fast forward four hours. As promised the groomer called when the dog was ready to be picked up. When I arrived I asked the groomer how our dog had behaved. She stated that he wasn't fond of the grooming experience or scissors but was ok with clippers. I thought this was kind of odd. Usually animals hate the noise and vibration of clippers and don't mind scissors as much. The groomer shared that she was able to trim his paws and "sensitive areas" but since he didn't like the scissors by his ears she "just didn't do it [the ear trimming]". I wasn't thrilled to hear this since his ears really needed trimming and the ear trimming was 1 of only 3 basic things I had asked them to do. She handed me the receipt. I couldn't believe what I saw. The total bill was $82 - more than double what they had quoted me! Plus no one had mentioned or asked me in advance about whether or not it was ok to upgrade our dog to the "Premium" service even though I had repeatedly said I only wanted the "Basic" bath. I was stunned. The groomer asked me if I wanted to go to the front register and pay first while they kept my dog, or pay after they gave me the dog. Since I was experiencing some serious sticker shock I figured he was ok in their care and quickly went up to the front register to pay. (really wish I hadn't done this). When I was finally given our dog I was so disappointed. I can describe him in one word: frazzled. His hair was frizzy, dull and dry (which is terrible for a Collie esp. after we've been working so hard for months to improve his coat), and he looked like they hadn't even brushed him. His eyes were wide, he was panting heavily, and was a completely different, very stressed dog. He couldn't leave there fast enough and frankly I couldn't wait to get out of there too. So all in all if you want to be be over charged and receive really poor quality grooming at the expense of your pet's well-being, book a grooming appointment at the Mount Juliet PetSmart. I can't believe how much I had to pay while they were 100% ok with not doing the most basic services that I had requested. Our dog is not a trouble maker and clearly the groomer just didn't know what she was doing and didn't care. Oh and lastly, when we left there was a Chihuahua that was tied up on a table, shivering and scared, and no one was working with it or paying any attention to it. This petsmart is out of the way for me because I stay in Nashville. I went here because I saw they carried the Vital dog food my Alice likes. Turns out, they have a great selection for dogs. I brought my puppy in for Miss Vanessa's six-week beginner course, and I was very happy with the results! Vanessa helped me feel like a good pet-mom, and explained that bribing my puppy to get results was okay. She took the guilt out of training, and showed how to use positive reinforcement. Vanessa is kind, soft-spoken, strong when she needs to be, and obviously loves dogs. My puppy will definitely be joining the intermediate class. read more

This is one of the cleanest locations around the area for getting pet supplies, plus they have a grooming center and a vet clinic. We had taken our pet for training here and our only complaint was that the training was probably more effective for older animals that are not as wired as our dog, and the trainer could and should have seen that upfront and recommended us saving money. She gave us some basics for our dog and did recommend the proper diet for him however. read more

We just took our Olde English Bulldogge to get a de-shedding and a bath and they were absolutely terrific. Our dog is only 10 months old and weighs almost 80 pounds. I cannot even imagine having to keep them still to actually groom them. The staff was so incredibly sweet and patient. We will continue to go to Pet Smart for all of Gunner's grooming needs. probably should give it a 4 stars because of the refund however this should be addressed. groomers were very unprofessional and rude. to start with one of the groomers just started touching my dog without even letting him smell her first (which is huge because some dogs may not be comfortable with that) and of course he was scared of her. she had to drag him to the grooming side because he probably smelled the rudeness on her. we wait three and a half hours for a call and got nothing so we ended up calling them to see if he's ready only to find out yes he's ready but he was bad when they were blow drying him so he's still wet ( which makes 0 sense because he's never like that ). while paying the two groomers bad mouthed other customers in front of us, extremely unprofessional. will not be back there to get my baby groomed. wouldn't be surprised if they had mistreated my dog as well with the look of help in his eyes when we came to get him. came home only to realize his nails weren't properly cut, nor did he get an actual bath. sad work ethic means nothing to people however managers were nice to give us a refund with no hassle. also mentioned this is the 10th refund within 3 weeks. something should be done. read more

I was with my family on the day before Easter and we decided to get some pet rats. We went into the store and talk to a very nice man who helped us. We were gonna buy the last two rats. We where in the process of filling out the paperwork and while doing so we were talking to the employee who was being very nice and told us how to save money on accessories. We told him about our other pets. Snakes, geckos, lizards, mice, dogs, and a cat. He walked away for a bit and a different lady returned. She said, "we can't sell the rats to you knowing you could breed them or feed them." I tried to assure her that I would neither feed nor breed them. Then she almost basically escorted us out of the store. I'm upset cause we were very excited about our new family members only to get a door in our face. The lady must have had a bad day because she was very rude. Till further notice Petsmart has lost our business. We buy everything from Petsmart so it was quite a shock. Yesterday, we dropped off our Australian Shepherd for grooming. I had given detailed instructions on how I wanted my dog cut when I made the appointment and then also confirmed by phone when she was dropped off, and when I picked her up, she was pretty much shaved all over and even that was gapped and choppy looking, and the cut was nowhere near the 1" length I had requested. They also did not clip her head or groom around her ears, so she looked bizarre with a shaved body and and long hair all around her face and ears. Of course, when I picked her up, the groomer was "at lunch" and not available to talk to. I was very unhappy with the grooming, however, when I spoke to the store manager, and she reviewed the notes in my file to make sure that I had, in fact, called and left detailed instructions, she did reimburse me 50% of the grooming cost. I would not take my dog back to this store for grooming, but I was satisfied that the management of the store did handle the mistake. read more
