We have been going to Petsmart Groomers for years now, especially with our baby girl Athena. As she has always had a unique appearance from many other long haired dachshunds, we pride ourselves on having her groomed to fit her look and stand out. This location has definitely given us some bumps along the way but the customer service of the groomers, along with the stores management have made the experiences pleasant. I definitely would recommend finding a groomer who has many years under the belt as it goes along way, I would highly suggest going to see Lindee for sure at this location, she is a doll. I do give this groomers a 4 star review, solely due to a few bumps we have ran across through newer groomers, but still I wouldnt let that steer you clear of this location. Got my dog groomed for the first time. Mainly wanted it done for the sanitary cleaning and shave. When I got her home I noticed they didn't touch the hair on her stomach and private part. The sanitary procedure didn't happen so pretty disappointed because that's the whole reason I went now I have to pay to get it done again. I rescued my dog from the pound where she spent the first 5 months of her life until I got her. She is a little scared of some noises and hates the kennel. Her appointment was at 1230 then they called and said they were behind to come in at 230. I did I waited 4 hours until they called that they were done, I could hear my girl barking in the background. When I picked her up the girl which I didn't see when I dropped her off pissed me off by saying god she wouldn't shut up we were all saying man will she just shut up already. That was the last straw for me. Total attitude change from when I dropped her off. I'll pay the extra $20 and take her to the vet groomer so I know she safe and actually get done what I'm paying for. They also had the bandana so tight around her neck tied in a knot that I couldn't get out so I had to cut it off her. Also not to mention a grumpy ass older lady yelling at me to get my dog to stop barking,I looked at her and said EXCUSE ME she says I'm sorry, I'm sick....I don't care if you're that sick then stay home. And know if you're going into a PET STORE there will be dogs and barking. Won't be going back for grooming ever again. read more

TOTALLY ridiculous place for grooming. The prices are ridiculous for my German Shepard to get groomed and have his nail trimmed. I work all week long so the only time to get it done is on the weekends. They charge $3 more to do his grooming on Sunday...are you kidding me? I'm sure it's not for religious reasons either!! AND, they don't do anything to help calm an anxious dog...if they don't respond well...then, oh well they don't get taken care of!!! If I could give a zero I would. My dog has been getting groomed at Pets Mart every 8 weeks for 8 1/2 years and I have never had a problem until today. I got there at 8am and Tara took him in, they not only didn't finish his feet they musseled him, said he put his mouth around her arm. Normally he takes 4 hours got a call at 3 hours. Charged me for full service plus special handling so my bill was 123.00. Called Manager she is a joke. I have worked in customer service for 40 plus years. She said that there were 10 groomers at and 10 dogs at 10:30 and used that as an excuse for his behavior so what happened from 8am to 10:30? Stay clear of this pets mart off from 91st. Read all the negative reviews. Never ever will I step foot in this Pets Mart Again. read more

W Peoria location- We have had several appointments for dog grooming services change by associates calling back, most every time we set up an appointment. Either someone has called in sick, a cancelation so they want to change our time, or like today we walked in to be told they were just going to call because they needed to cancel the time we just showed up for. Don't know what the problem is at this location but they don't honor times, they either change it or cancel it. read more

Sarah in the salon is THE best! I have an older cranky medium sized dog that is deaf and losing his sight which causes him to react less friendly to humans. Sarah however is his exception. He loves her and when I try to make an appointment with anyone but her, he refuses. He's still growly with her but allows her to do what needs to be done to make fresh and shiny. Those (insert strong profanity here) left him screaming for an hour because the jerkoff in charge didn't check the paperwork for my phone number!! I got there and he was screeching in the back!!! Recently broke my foot. Not getting around well in walking boot. I called Petsmart Peoria and spoke to Michael store associate. I asked if he could please pick some Authority cat food out for me and leave it at front checkout, so I could pick it up. I had ordered a different kind from website, but was Making my cat sick. This place is ok. I've never taken my dogs to get groomed here but I did buy my guinea pigs here. One of them ended up having weird dry looking spots on his ear and they wouldn't even let me bring him back to show them because it was over the 14 days. I wasn't trying to return him, just inquiring on how to help him. I ended up turning to the internet because I talked to some girl that worked there who had no clue about guinea pigs and told me to buy the book behind me, which was conveniently located but as always overpriced. I always thought you should be knowledgable of things that you work with but I guess that's not how it is here. I'll still go back because the quantity and quality is better than petco (I think) but definitely not buying any animals other than fish. read more

I come to this petsmart casually I've purchased my piggies from these ppl unfortunately this last time I bought a young piggie from them couple months later my daughter sees another I figure since the last one we purchased was a female like she is by herself the other pigs we keep separate are males soo we decide to get this one piggie which is said to be a "Female" by petsmart soooo ok like I didn't care for this particular pig but it's my daughters choice sooo upon purchasing we head home my daughter starts to assume that Dude piggie DOES NOT in fact look like a lady pig! And that's Guinea Pig Btw, anyways! Lol, I checked and it did look like a female but it did act like a male in a LOT of ways soooo I took it back (his names Cookie now) but the guy who sold us this pig this one Red head dude I believe who he always seems disshovled everytime I see dude but he checks cookie again and with same response that cookies a female sooo we let cookie stay in the same cage with the other female (LuLu) we never saw him jump on Lu for a thing sooo I still assumed cookies a she well pshhh two weeks ago we go in to feed cookie and Lu and my daughter spots this fast lil Black thing Dart right into the piggie home! Well, ya it was a Baby who OBVIOUSLY LuLu started nurturing thereafter I wasn't even aware Lu was Preggo she did not look it and she was TOO small when we purchased her so she couldn't have been Preggo then but the baby looked TOTALLY like cookie! Ugh!!!! I was heated at the fact that LuLu being so small could've had a complicated labor and I knew once I would advice petsmart they would start with excuses and the lady I spoke to in the Am shift she seemed nice but still oblivious to any of this and excuse excuse it was annoying only advice she gave was more or less give the baby up and Hell NO! That's not ok and NO! But I would've appreciated them caring for LuLu atleast for a check up to make sure she's ok and the babies ok it is their fault imo they mislabeled a Pig who just might have a small one and just assumed by that red head employee that the piggie cookie was female! Smh...... another thing why is it no matter the TON of cash you spend here they never seem to even have at the least 5$ in rewards when I spend a lot on a Bums income!!!! The dude with the Batman tattoo who I thought was coo and neat lookin but after his remark today like Nah I tell him about this issue today with the rewards and his response was well when I buy a little here and their i shot back with a well when that little here and their costs over 10$ and I always leave the store almost ALWAYS spending the least of 30$ I would assume a damn dollar would show up but I'm always told just this much more points and that much more, regardless of how out of my way pratts is I might go with them like they have cheaper items like on tha FRFR! ...Js, not the El mirage location though!!!! I had one of the worst experiences at this PetSmart on 91st Ave in Peoria. I went to rent a carpet cleaner this morning. I stopped a gentleman with Grey hair in his mid forties who I think was possibly a manager. I asked him where I could find the rent-able carpet cleaners, He acted annoyed to have to help me and shuffled me over to the carpet rentals. I asked if he had used it before and he said yes briskly. He then yelled over to a girl at the register and told her to ring me up. He said when she was finished to come find him so he could tell her something seemed like helping me was preventing him and her from doing something that was more important than the sale. The girl was friendly but just told me to sign in the purple area and rang me up. She told me the cleaner was $29.00 but after I swiped my card and had to confirm the amount it said it was $42? I asked was it a mistake and she said there was a deposit which was never explained to me. I took the device home used it and it worked well. My boyfriend & I went to return it tonight and the experience got even better. We walk in and a friendly PetSmart employee asked how it was. As she was being friendly another employee who was on the phone came over and told her to check the bottom of the machine. She flipped the machine over and told me that it was dirty on the bottom and would keep my deposit because I failed to clean it. The tone that she said this in was where I had a problem. The other cashier suggested I go and "hose it down"....because a hose is just outside of Pet Smart...umm yea OK! Then Lisa (a manager by the way) took her finger and started saying how now she would have to call Bissell and have a tech come clean the machine and how it is un-rentable. She made me feel like I had brought this back filthy and almost like I was a bad human for having used it and it have some pet hair. She sent the other employee away and I told her how I did not appreciate her tone and that I did not receive an inspection of the machine when I rented it so how do I know that it was not already that way. She then tells me that there is no way she would send a machine like that into someones home and then she took the copy of the contract held it up and took her pin and in a stern annoyed voice read to me all the things I agreed to. She made sure to take the pen and point to the part where it says you will return it clean. She then set the paper down and went on to say how she doesn't know how to return the deposit to me and that she has to return it then recharge it and how she had never done a transaction with these machines before. I asked her what needed to be cleaned on the machine and if I could take a paper towel to it? She said "maybe" but that she still would probably need to charge me and how only the professional tech can clean it at this point. I told her as a business practice I feel they should explain to people renting the machines the expectations and do an inspection so that people are not paying deposits for something that they may not have done. I work in customer service and would not have minded losing the deposit but the tone and attitude I received from Lisa was beyond rude. I go to many Pet Smart locations but I must say this is the worst. If I didn't receive such amazing service from the Dysart-Goodyear location I would never return to a PetSmart after my experience today. If either employee I was forced to deal with today is a manager they should be ashamed. I feel bad for both of the friendly employees I had to deal with as I would never want to work with people like that. DON'T GO TO THIS LOCATION unless you like horrible customer service, lack of supplies that all other stores are stocked with and want to pay deposits on machines you were not aware were dirty. My boyfriend & I are both business professionals and we will ensure that everyone in both our personal and professional network is made aware of this awful customer service experience and to make sure they do NOT give this specific store their business. read more

I have been shopping this location for many years as it is right down the street from my house....I have never been impressed by the how the store looks or by the customer service I have recieved. I am a retail manager myself and in the past I cringed at the thought of going in here because I know that is not how I would run my store and if my employees were this way, they would be looking for a new job! This mindset was all changed today. I had stopped in real quick yesterday and noticed that there was definitely a different vibe in this store. Today, I was actually able to spend some time in there...the store it's self is alot cleaner and more astetically pleasing. Every staff member I came in contact with actually acknowledged your existence, was pleasant, and happy to help you. The person who really hit it out of the park for me was Jessica (95% sure that was her name) who was one of the managers. The caliber of customer service she provided was amazing...the type of customer service I expect from my employees. I watched her engage with several other pet lovers and the level of service was top notch. I think I will no longer cringe at the thought of having to go here and I cannot wait to go back next week to see their new fish wall! Whatever changes have been made in this store was definitely the right direction to go in. Please keep the people like Jessica in this store so that they can build a team that will keep me and other pet lovers comming back to this location. read more

The people in the fish section are friendly, although sometimes hard to find. I get my crickets here to feed to my leopard gecko and Tiger salamanders. They have recently downsized the fish section but still have a reasonable selection. All the fish I have gotten here have been healthy and happy. Not a bad place to get fish and crickets if you ask me. read more

Made an appointment for my dog way ahead of time. Went there before appt. and they were taking walk ins before me. Said they could put my dog in a cage for 1 1/2 hrs. to 2 hrs. and then do her. Why would I want that??? If someone makes an appointment you might consider taking them at the appointment time. This past Saturday I took my dog (Teddy) to be groomed for the first time at Pet Smart and dealt with Heather. Heather did a fantastic job with Teddy. He had the works, bath, haircut, claws cut/filed, teeth brushed. He seemed very happy there and looked fantastic when I picked him up. Based on this experience, Teddy has a new best friend at Pet Smart and will return for all grooming. BTW, everyone I dealt with seemed to be truly caring with all of the other dogs that I observed being worked on while the pet parents were not there. Loved that! read more

The manager there cut my dogs ear off and superglued it back on. Though I have records, dated pics, receipts, they say they didn't do it. They did pay for three Vet bills and refund me for grooming and future Vet bill. The same groomer superglued my other dog Sadie's top of her head back on. She didn't lose her job. BEWARE! Don't ask for the grooming manager and the store manager does nothing and keeps his staff regardless. My poor Lucy shook when I took her to the PetSmart Vet at Banfield. read more

I have two cats, a three year old and a new kitten. The three year old is wonderful, well behaved, and not unusually smelly. However, after the kitten goes to the bathroom, it smells so bad it will wake us up in the middle of the night and we have to get out of bed to take it out. We think it may be so bad because she is not covering her droppings. I always go to this Petsmart for food because it is close to home and so today I decided to ask a question of the staff at the Banfield pet hospital they have inside. After waiting for the girl with all the tattoos (I only mention the tattoos to identify her because I did not get a name) to stop talking I asked if there was anything we could do to get the kitten to cover like some sort of training. She shrugged her shoulders and said some cats do some don't and that I should be happy she goes in the litter box at all. I felt that her response was flippant and that she didn't really care to be speaking to me at all. I have spent a lot of money at this store and would have appreciated at least a little empathy even if there was no solution. read more

I've never been so disappointed in a veterinary visit. I brought my new puppy to this location to make sure he was healthy before I introduced him to my other dog. He seemed to be having an ear issue and I let the veterinarian know. All I was told was that his ears were too hairy to be able to tell "but if I signed up for the healthcare plan" they'd be able to do a test to see what was going on. They were more concerned about selling me a year plan than my dog. Not wanting to commit to a year plan with them they advised me to simply clean my dogs ears. Now BOTH my dogs can't stop scratching their ears and I now have to pay for two visit to a different veterinary office and find out what they have going on in their ears! I am so disappointed I waisted my money here and even more upset I now have two dogs that are suffering from their inability to fix the problem with my new puppy. I will never spend aanother penny in this store and would advise anyone going to their veterinary clinic to choose an different location or completely avoid banner clinics. read more

Went to this location with my husband and puppy to return a leash and collar I had purchased earlier in the day that unfortunately did not fit my puppy. We entered the store 15 minutes before closing and could not figure out how to put on some of the harnesses. I asked the only associate in the store whose name is Sheryl for help and she did not want to help us. Sheryl said she is just a cashier and does not know how to use "those things." I asked her if she could have the manager help us and she informed me the manager couldn't because she was "busy in the back closing." We still had 5 minutes before the store closed. I shop all the time at PetsMart for all three of my pets and take them there for grooming and Banfield for medical issues. We are extremely disappointed to see other customers get help and we were ignored. We will not be returning to this store and will also complete PetsMart survey regarding this particular experience. read more
