I called Sun City Grooming to see when I could get an appointment to get my older dog groomed. They were very accommodating and said they had an opening in the afternoon. We are new to this area so we were very happy to be able to get him in so quickly. We took him over at appointment time and were greeted at the counter. I spoke with the woman who was going to groom him. She asked all the questions to make sure she knew how we wanted him groomed. They said they would call when he was ready which they did. I have used a groomer about 1 mile from my house that was always too busy to answer the phone. When I took my dogs in, it would be hours before they were done. I have used a mobile groomer that charged close to $300 for two very small dogs. Even though those shops did a fine job, it was very frustrating. About 6 months ago I started going to Sun City grooming. They always answer the phone, have great availability and rarely do they take more than 2 hours for both the pups. The pups come out looking fantastic and the prices are fair. I will tell you that I am not super picky and I am not one to come in and have a specific guidelines for what my pups should look like after they are done. I just want them to be trimmed, look nice and not spend all day at the groomers. No matter how much they like it, they are always stressed out going somewhere. The prices are fair and the cuts are great and my pups are happy. It is easy to schedule and the prices are fair. Even though this is a little farther away, I am super happy and will continue to bring my pups to see them. read more

Today was our first time taking our poodle to Sun City Grooming and it was the smartest move we could have made for her. Our little girl gets scared at groomers and today she seemed to have fun with the other dogs. Before and after grooming she got to run around with the other dogs getting groomed. Our poodle needs the socialization she got there and was happy when I picked her up. Not scared and not shaky like a few of the groomers we have taken her to. I brought my Chihuahua to Sun City Groomers for a simple nail trim. When I got there, I handed my dog to the groomer and then left to go around the corner to get cash. When I returned five minutes later, the groomer said "he poo'd himself and pee'd himself and so they had to give him a bath. (What?) and then handed me my dog and said keep an eye on him and make sure he is not licking his paws. (Again, What?). I have been taking my dog to get his nails trimmed for five years. I have never had an experience like I had at Sun City Grooming. When I got home, my dog went to his bed and stayed there. He would not eat, barely walked and was clearly traumatized. Two days later, I went to Sun City Grooming to find out what happened to my dog. He was a happy active dog when I brought him in and a lethargic dog who would barely eat and barely walked when I took him home. Had they warned me that they cut the dog's nails too short and to be careful with him, I would have understood. However, nobody said anything to me at all, just "he poo'd himself and had to give him a bath". They simply said to me two days later when I went there to find out what happened was "it was a nail trim" and said "he didn't walk when he came in." Really? CAREFUL WHERE YOU TAKE YOUR DOG FOR GROOMING. THEY ARE NOT ALL THE SAME. My dog was traumatized for two days so far. read more

Took my doodle there for the first time off of a recommendation and was sadly disappointed.. my doodle was cut way too short even though I said just a half inch to clean him up. The tail doesn't look like it was even touched. His snout is uneven and possible not even touched either. His body is choppy and there is long patches of hair through out. Has a weird bald patch right in front of his sanitary area and his nails were horribly done and chipping off and his dew claws weren't clipped... I had high hopes due yo the referral but will not be taking him back. Wasn't worth the $100. read more

I've been taking my Chihuahuas to Sun City Grooming for over two years. First I took two of them, and then I rescued another, so I've taken 3 dogs there. They only go for nail trims and occasional anal expressing because they're short haired chihuahuas. The women there are the friendliest and most professional groomers that I've done business with, not to mention how caring they've been for my dogs. I read another recent review on here that was negative. My dogs don't love getting their nails done but they realize they're in loving hands and they certainly NEVER go home traumatized. One of my dogs nails are curled under and every time I go, I mention it to the groomers. I also go every 3 weeks because I don't want to get there and find out that her nails have grown into the pad. Not only is it hard for the groomer to trim the nail but I'd be torturing my dog for allowing it to get that way. I definitely recommend Sun City Grooming! read more
