Went to purchase a small animal with my wife and small children. A small female employee with piercings and horrible attitude was slamming the fish cages shut. Told us we shouldn't purchase the enclosure on our carry "I won't let you buy that. It shouldn't be on the shelves...". He was rude, unprofessional, and 1 step from ending up stuffed in a hamster cage. The most unsavory/uncomfortable experience I've ever had. Took our big boy Duke to PetSmart the other day and we were pleased with the selection, but a little disappointed in our experience with the cashier. Now I know everyone thinks that their dog is the cutest, but my dog is pretty dang adorable (and it was his birthday!!) and the cashier was not in the least bit interested in my dog. You work in a pet store! Literally had headphones in and was more interested in her tablet. Pretty annoying. I understand that this is a minimum wage job, but put your tablet down when interacting with customers. EDIT: came back the next day for another fish friend and supplies. Asked the cashier if someone else could help us because the pissy employee was working around the fish again. The cashier sent the store manager over and she could not have been nicer. We didn't want to cause trouble, just be treated like decent human beings, which it seems everyone else on the staff is more than capable of doing. I changed my 1 star review to 5 because I don't think it's fair for them all to be dinged for one rude employee. Incredibly rude staff member today. After asking the front desk for help with adopting a fish, we waited by the fish for someone to help us. We have no problem waiting as I'm sure the staff were busy. One employee was doing work around us but we didn't want to bother him. After about 15 minutes we asked the counter if they could send someone over. At this point the employee very rudely told us "if you guys want help you can just ask me." We let it go. After telling him who we wanted (and being told that all the first were males even though there were clearly females in there) and also answering our questions in a very curt and rude manner, he again told us "next time you want help just ask "you guys were standing there for 20 minutes" very rudely, I told him he just as easily could have asked us if we needed help and that we didn't want to bother anybody which is why we went to the counter. He said "the counter people don't do anything" at which point I told him I don't know their whole procedure and that there was no reason to talk down to us for not knowing. He said he wasn't talking down to us and I told him he was though. At that point he said "fine" and like a child handed over our bag of new fishes. We have had good experiences with the customer service here in the past but this guy with his stand offish attitude and headphones in his ears should not be working with the public. read more

Went to Petsmart to get my fur baby trimmed for the first time. I came in ready to knuck if you buck since I've heard horror stories of dogs coming back looking like a Sphynx cat. I made an appointment with Stephanie on a whim and she definitely came through for my baby. They estimate everything taking about 4 hours and thank goodness it didn't take nearly that long. When I picked up my lil ball of fluff I saw that Stephanie heard me when I told her I just wanted his hair trimmed. He looks so cute and when she brought him out I could tell that he was treated well. I'll be back! read more

I come here monthly for various cat food, litter or other supplies. They staff here is always so welcoming and willing to answer any questions I may have. The store is always clean. I love that they host a local cat rescue in there, so I can visit/see the cats on my trip there. They do have a restroom if you need it. They always accept coupons with out any issues or complications. They also have various adoption weekends or pictures with Santa. read more

I will never be bringing my dog here again. Went to pick up my dog and they handed him off like nothing happened. I was in line to pay when I noticed 2 of his paws were bloody. I took him back in to be told "oh sometimes that happens when they get their nails cut" ...what?! My dog is 15 pounds you're telling me they can't handle a nail trim on a 15 pound dog without hurting him?! Also have the decency to tell me! While I enjoy the store, I found a couple of glitches with the training: 1. The area was so noisy! It seems to be very close to where the pets are boarded. It made for too much distraction. 2. The training did not appear to be any different than the YouTube videos on new puppy care. While the trainer was so caring and nice, I did not feel a sense of confidence. read more

Great location for pet store by target and ShopRite.. The pet supply is huge if it's for fish, dogs, cats what ever kind of little pets you have. They even also have a training center inside for dogs, Get on the rewards program they have. Makes it worth wild. The prices are high.. Not as cheap as many other pet stores. I would give this store no stars if possible. I have been a long time customer of Petsmart, but after today never again! The groomers are uneducated and the staff is ignorant. I took my pomsky mix there to be groomed and asked for his hair to be taken down as short as possible, meaning as short as safely possible. I have said this before to other groomers and because my dog has a double coat they know never to shave him, but just to de-shed and trim in certain areas. When I picked my dog up, his coat was completely removed other than his face and tail. Not only was he shaved as he shouldn't be, but it was a very sloppy and choppy job. I contacted my vet who notified me that you should never shave these dogs and I groomer should know that. He also let me know his coat may not grow back in properly. I called the grooming manager at the store to let her know what had occurred and she was extremely ignorant. I was really just looking for an apology or an explanation of how this happens. Instead, her response was "well I can't put his hair back on unfortunately." I have never come across staff that was so unprofessional and will not be using their grooming services again. Anyone who has seen my dog in the last few days has also said they would never use their services based on the look of my dogs fur. read more

If I could give this PetSmart no stars I would. Recently I purchased a pet camera so I could make sure my puppy who just had surgery was okay while I was at work. Once I got home I finally opened the box to discover there was no camera in the box. I tried to call the store but by the time I realized they were closed. I called the next day and an employee told me that an assistant manager would be giving me a call that night. I never received a call. 2 days later I went back to the store which is 30 minutes away from my house. After speaking to another employee who was rude and had no customer service I was informed there was nothing she could do for me because I had to speak to a manager. She told me that a manager wouldn't be in until noon. I don't live close by and couldn't wait over an hour for a manager to come in. The way this situation was handled couldn't have been more horrible. When I opened the box there was only a cube and mounting stickers. The camera, cord and tool kit were missing. The plastic for the camera was ripped. After finally speaking to Dan, the manager, he informed me he looked at the cameras and it appeared that the box was sealed. How he could tell that from a camera is beyond me. He advised me to contact the Wyze company directly. So now I don't have a camera and I will not be refunded the money for the camera that wasn't in the box. Ridiculous that they cannot resolve this problem or replace the missing camera. read more

The last time I took my dog there, they took one look at him and refused to touch him (yes, he was current on all his shots and all). I'll never go there again. On dog and cat food, stores like Target (same shopping center) are the same price, or cheaper. They also offer pet adoption, which is a cause near and dear to my heart. They do carry a variety of animals - snakes, turtles, fish, hamsters, etc., and the animals seem well cared for. read more

My only complaint is that the cashier told me that they are getting rid of the loyalty cards and going all electronic. It seemed a little more difficult. Figured I'd give them a second chance with my 80 gallon, 70 fish, fishtank issue I've been having with water quality. Was told one day partial water change. Done. Done 2 dead fish from it. I had spoken today with the manager at the Petsmart on greater Roosevelt Boulevard on the customer service that was given to me by their employee. I have been going here for over four years and have used the same service every month with the same groomer besides today. I've informed the manager of my handling that was unprofessional and also mentioned not To address the employee Of my my complaint while I was still there and while they still had my dog. Against my wishes the manger approach the employee while I stood outside the grooming salon. The manager left the salon and assured me everything was going to be handled and apologize. Our conversion was about to end when the employee I've had made a complaint about came out to address me in a rude manor. She gave me attitude and said it's due to her pregnancy. I told her she can leave as I never intended to address her as that's the managers position. I have been going to this store for years only because it was more convenient because of the proximity. Today was my last straw dealing with their terrible cashiers and their attitudes for no reason. This store constantly places sales signs under the wrong items. Today when I went up to the register, i scanned my petsmart card, and the dog food I got rang up $34.99 instead of $29.99 which was the price labeled RIGHT UNDERNEATH the product. The cashier kept repeating very rudely that the food was 34.99 and walked back and showed me. When i looked I did see it was for another dog food right next to it, but who is looking at the small print that closely? Why not just label underneath the correct item? I was like okay whatever, there was a huge sign above it for the smaller dog food for $13 so I told her I'll grab the small bag. I follow her back up to the register she tells me my total is $16 and some change. I said hold on i need to scan my petsmart card. She tells me she already did. Then i said I thought the price was $13. She tells me again very rudely that no it is $15.99. By this time i was sick of the whole experience. I said you know what forget it, I'll just go to another store. I will no longer be going to this store. I doubt she even scanned the store petsmart card. For all I know the small bags of food were on sale. I will never know and at this point I don't care to find out. I took myself to the Petco that is a mile down the road. To say I am disgusted is an UNDERSTATEMENT. My dog had been in the hospital and was finally sent home on several meds. My vet advised I should go to PetSmart to get a Pill Gun, since my pup was on a really strict diet and I couldn't try to disguise his pills with cheese anymore. Anyway, my husband and I went to this store and I waited for the cashier (Brendan) to ring up his customer, since there was no one else in sight to help me, and I asked where I could find a Pill Gun. He laughed and said, "We don't have that." I explained that my vet said I could find it there and he said, "Well I never heard of it." So he called the next customer forward and I moved aside. By this time, a young woman (Carissa) walked up who also works there and he asked her, "Do we have Pill Guns?" she laughed and said I doubt it. So he pointed her to me and she turned and said, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure we don't have that.'' So I said, "So, you're both pretty sure, or never heard of it, and neither of you are going to help me" and Carissa stated, "We don't have it". At this point my husband already walked away to find it. Sure enough, he did. So I walked up to check out and Brendan was ringing someone up. He whispered to Carissa and she walked away. When it was my turn, I said, "I guess you do have it, huh" and he said, "Well you don't have to sit here and rub it in my face." REALLY? I have never experienced such unprofessionalism in my life. If my dog wasn't so sick, and I had time to go somewhere else, I wouldn't have spent a dime in this disgusting establishment. As I walked out, I saw Carissa walk back up to the register, and they stood there and laughed about the situation. Everything in me wanted to go back and put them in there place. I cannot believe that these are the type of people that are working with customers. I will NEVER shop at PetSmart again. I suggest that no one else does either. A Petsmart is a Petsmart, big with a larger variety than smaller stores, but a recent trip to this one did not go so well for me. I was looking to buy finches and although every conceivable source says otherwise, I went to a petstore as they are just too convenient. Of course the cages in this store were overcrowded and birds generally housed with whoever the 2 page training manual said they could be housed with - that is to say mishoused (species which don't get along). They have one of those circular huts in this store with cages along the walls and maintenance space inside the circle. So after watching the finches for 10 mins., I noticed an escaped parakeet flying inside the maintenance space, desperately trying to get back into one of the cages (probably for food and water). I told one of the employees (she looked like a 14-yr. old little girl). Guess what I saw while she was catching the bird? A dead finch in the corner of one of the cages! After I told the girl - "Wow, you notice everything!" Needless to say that she wasn't very helpful in any bird-related matters and could not answer any of my questions, nor direct me to anyone who could. read more
