Was a great store but then they rolled out the new "Desk Pets" display, which are going to slowly kill the animals inside them. There aren't temperature and humidity control. I worry they aren't even being fed right-and if they are, the wrong temperature could shut down digestion, leaving food slowly decomposing inside them. The containers are way too small and some people will think it's fine to keep them in tiny enclosures. Some people pick up the little containers and shake them, and there's not always going to be an employee or anyone else there to tell them to stop. The employees and supply of products for pets are great, really sad to see it ruined by using animals in tiny plastic containers like cash register impulse buys. read more

I go to the one here in Philly at 9717 Roosevelt Blvd frequently. Great customer service with a friendly crew, I've never had a health problem with any fish or other aquatic creature. They separate new fish in in quarantine tanks from what I've seen. read more

Upon entering the store, the cashier greeted me with a bright smile and welcoming voice...this store was clean and the bathroom was clean as well. I was disappointed that they weren't properly stocked, with the brand-type of food I needed for my pet. The cashier was nice and she did inquire with someone from the back to double check to see if they were out of stock. Overall this was a nice pet Co, I just truly wish they had what I came in there for. I did not give 5 stars because they weren't stock with what I needed and I didn't see anyone near the section that I needed assistance in. read more

This place stinks, sold me a broken moldy dog cage($126) last week while also giving me false information that the vet accepts walkins every other Thursday, showed up as a a walk-in 5 minutes after "the vets" got there and am told not only is it appointments only but they are going on break. Really you get there at 12:10 and go on break at 12:18? Unprofessional, lazy, false information, faulty products. Extremely disappointed and I'll probably never step foot in there again. read more

I just called this location to schedule an appointment for my adult cat who is almost 10 years old. I was told by an employee over the phone that they can't take my cat because he's never been to their location and health concerns despite the fact that I used to bring my cat to PetSmart all the time years ago and he's in good health. I told her the I could provide the documentation and my cats gets groomed regularly, I just wanted to go and try to save any extra couple of dollars since the place I usually go went up. Either way, the reason for not taking my cat was inadequate and I feel turned off as a customer. I have to go out of my way to another PetSmart for this inconvenience. Smh. read more

With coupons, I've been getting my dog food here for years. I wish the prices were a bit lower, though, which is why I wait for sales or use coupons associated with the Petco PALS program. The place is clean and well maintained from what I can see. They have a pet grooming section which I've never used and quite a selection of products for dogs and cats. They also have birds, fish, reptiles, and small pets like hampsters, ferrets, and guinnea pigs. I think they have cat adoptions here, too. I've always been weary of buying a dog or cat not from a breeder directly, so I'd beware. The other animals I'm sure are fine. read more

This review covers grooming of our American Eskimo Dog; Caleb. Caleb had become a little shabby and there were a few areas of let's say dredlock... long haired dogs that dont like grooming get like this I am told. Jessica the grooming manager took care of Caleb as if he was her dog. She was kind and gentle and careful in every way. I spent an hour watching her carefully turn my best buddy into a dog worth every bit ot the $50+ fee for the service. I dont know anything about the other groomers but I was very impressed with Jessica. read more

Great customer service. They always treat us so well. Signed up for the puppy training for my 5 month old lab Lilly. Simone is great. She understands the puppy behavior and always comes up with new ways to train the puppy. Glad we found her. The groomers are great too. They did great job and since my puppy was nervous with the blower they hand dried her. In all they deserve 5 star rating truely. read more

Went in and overheard a group meeting of staff while I wandered around looking at piles of supplies needing to get put away. Petco in Roosevelt Blvd has been my favorite store for grooming for my dog. After a long time sending my dog every two weeks there, just one person was taking care for my dog. When the lady went in another location, the other part of the team refused to take my dog for grooming. I called them so many times and they told me that was no space for little dogs. After 3 weeks that I was calling they told me that they can't deal with the dog, because the dog doesn't like them. That's ridiculous. Why people work when don't know how to give love to animals and to take care for them? I am completely disappointed from this store and I don't recommend anymore at all. read more

I am not one to write reviews, but I have to give props to the store manager, Sherman. His attention to detail on the store (mostly saltwater fish) and knowledge is impressive. My boyfriend and I love investing into our saltwater tank, but hate taking the drive to Hidden Reef. We went for dog & cat toys, but we're blown away with the selection of saltwater fish/frags/etc. Sherman invested the time and effort into making the fish section thrive (he himself had a 210g saltwater tank so trust me when I say he knows his sh*t) and lemme say, we're probably going to be back on a weekly basis since he keeps up with getting new shipments Wednesday-Friday. You can also call and request a fish for them to order! Sherman and Dan were such a big help and I have to express my gratitude! Keep up the good work, and we'll see yous next week! Had the WORST experience at this store than I've ever had in my life. I go to petco often because I have 3 dogs and usually when I walk into a petco the employees are super friendly and super helpful, well not this time! I had to make a return and lost my receipt, i got up to one of the woman cashiers named Chris and she had the biggest attitude about me doing a return without a receipt, she kept rolling her eyes at me and did the return extremely slow, then I purchased a few items when I was done with the return, she put my items I bought in a bag and threw the bag at me when I was done. I am simply amazed that a person like this keeps their job, she had no personality, she didn't even smile the entire time she was handling my return or purchase. Horrible customer service, I don't write bad reviews just to complain about a dirty look or because I didn't get my way in a situation. I was looking for a specific tank which I found on the website and the man who " helped me" was incredibly rude to the point where I walked away in mid conversation. His answer to my question about seeing it online was " oh I don't think they change stuff online without telling us, hahaha I hate when they do that, we don't have that here" he made me feel like an idiot. I showed him the website for proof ( I guess ? ) and he went on about corporate not telling the stores what they put on the website. I can understand it doesn't look too bad reading it, but with his tone of voice and other customers starring with their eyes bulging out of their heads in disbelief it was horribly embarrassing . I have been taking my Shitzu for grooming at 9717 Roosevelt Blvd, Philadelphia, PA 19114 for almost 2 years with no problem. I took him for grooming this past Thanksgiving. Ariel Mercado, who normally does not groom him, did a horrible job! I specifically asked for her to just clean him up around his face, paws and sanitary areas, which is very basic. I also asked for her to make sure she trimmed and buffed his nails. She left his nails as sharp as razors, cut his fur into a weird shape that was clearly not very well done. When I picked him up, she admitted to not having buffed his nails. I paid and had to finish her job on my own. I, then, received an email asking for my opinion of the recent grooming services. I filled it out and let them know the problems I had. During my next attempt to make an appointment, the Salon Manager Jessica (who knows my dog and has been seeing him for the past 2 years) informed me that they suddenly have notes saying that my dog is not allowed back there because he is too difficult to groom. He is the same dog he has always been, if not better. My survey feedback should not have affected this. They apparently do not take very kindly to people expressing honest opinions on their feedback surveys. So, if you want to ever go back, DO NOT fill out the survey! read more
