My puppy Marcus (Yellow Lab) and I moved to Queen Creek in June of 2019 from California, Marcus was 6-Months Old. He was starving for attention and I wanted to have him socialize with other dogs. He had been puppy and hunt-dog trained, but needed to be with other dogs to calm his playful spirit. I let him stay the night at PetSmart and Play all day at Doggie Daycare weakly. I can't say enough about the transposition/change took place in his personality after his visits to PetSmart. The Staff Loved and Babied him so much that it was hard to take him home (He Loved to be There). I let him stay over at the Pet Hotel this Thanksgiving while we went to my daughters house in Bullhead City. He had a physical emergency (I guess he had since birth) and was transported (twice) to the Emergency Vet Hospital, where he had a whole battery of test which PetSmart used their Credit Card +$600 to start the tests. He was found to have an abdominal abnormality that could not be repaired. Last night we had to put Marcus down. The management the Girls and Mona Baker at PetSmart insisted to pay the initial $616 dollar bill for Marcus...(I Can't Believe their Kindness, they Loved Him so much) I can't stop crying!!!! Wanted to buy a training collar for my pup. Instead I got my ear talked off for 30 minutes about how to train my dog without the collar. I proceeded to still try and buy the collar. When the girl who talked my ear off of training heard on the radio I needed a collar from the back (non on the shelf) she ran up front and corralled her manager to tell her not to sell one to me. Instead I was told the one I wanted and all other training collars were out of stock. There's a reason I use chewy for all my pet stuff. And thank you to the pet smart employees for reconfirming why I do not shop here. I will also take my business else where for grooming and literally anything petsmart does. Close your doors. Please. Also I went to Walmart and bought a training collar for half the cost. Thanks again for the unsolicited advise and saving some money on the same product. Also the guy at the cashier station asked me "do you know what it like to not sleep in 10 days?". He proceeded to tell me he tattoos trees of all different colors. Dude must of been on shrooms. He also threatens his sisters cat. Saying it was going to go missing, and there would be a new hole in his wall. Take that for what it is. I've seen circle k gas stations tan better then this place. This review is about the pet hotel specifically. We have used petsmart pet hotels all over the west for years, and no problems. But, recently we used this one for a few boardings and it was a disaster... they confirmed a "suite" (actual room). But after the fact I found out our dog was locked up in a small cage both times!! And it still cost almost 100.00 a night!! They blamed the call center for the "error" but I call b.s. when you get a confirmation you assume it's a done deal... then they did a bait and switch and charged the same amount. I actually called the store number directly but they said, " oh, it automatically gets sent to the call center". I know this isn't true because I've been booking with them for years and know there are separate numbers. They claimed the "suites" have been booked up for the last 2 months, yet they never said that when I booked. I spoke to the hotel manager, Mona, and she was full of excuses and was pretty rude and unprofessional. Looking at some of the other reviews, I can't believe any of these people still work there. Petsmart grooming...just don't. Even the grooming manager is bad. Overcharged, paid for extra nail grinding, she hadnt even clipped them. Bad grooming, returned for a fix on our dog. Still awful. Thankful the hair will grow back. Never again. read more

Every time I use the groomers here there is an issue. The staff which the average age is maybe 19 doesn't care at all. Every time I come in they ask for my dogs rabies papers and every time I provide it, they tell me it's on file so I wont need to provide it again but I always have too. Booked an appointment online the other day and when I went to drop my dog off they said the online booking doesn't work. The employees constantly put the blame on "corporate" stating that the system they use doesn't work. But today was the final draw, I came in to drop my dog of an had an interaction with Shane. He was extremely rude, he could tell I was frustrated and all he could say was "I don't care, it's not my problem". I almost reached over the counter and grabbed him! The worker (Karen) in the fish department today 10/18/20 was rude and refused to sell my Husband and Daughter a very small feeder fish because it was going to be going into a gallon bowl temporarily. This is a FEEDER fish! A fish that is used for feeding. I called and spoke to manager and she told me that the bowl was too small even though I told her I had larger at home. Funny how they think it's sufficient to keep betas in small containers when it has been proven that they thrive in larger tanks! The manager also told me that I could come in and buy as many feeders as I wanted as long and I am using them to feed a snake. Never shopping for my pets here again. Your staff is rude! I have been coming to this pet smart since I moved to QC and love the grooming staff. I even took my dog to the doctor to get vaccinated and it went very well. Unfortunately after covid grooming closed and I had to take him to petco and they completely traumatized my dog trimming his nails and now he screens every time we wanna trim his nails. I just wanna send a thank you to all the grooming staff at this pet smart for being there for my dog even when he yells when trimming his nails and understanding what he's going through. Brought my Goldendoodle here to be groomed. The girl Danyel checking us in asked how short we wanted her body and asked if we wanted a teddy bear cut for the face which is said yes, we like her with more fur on her. Our groomer was laycee. I didn't recognize my dog when I picked her up. She was totally butchered and doesn't even look like a doodle! I'll never return here. read more

took our dog to be groomed- was referred to a specific groomer. got an appointment with her and she assured us our dog would be done in 2 hours- 3 at the most. drove 40 min to see this groomer btw. after 4 hours i tried to call and the phone would just ring, then after several minutes disconnect. got ahold of someone at the main store and they told us it would be another hour because our dog was "big". so 5 hours to do a simple shave. he has 2.5 months of growth from the last time he was shaved, so it's not like he was super shaggy. went to wait on them at the 4 hour mark and someone also waiting for their dog, told us that ours had been standing on the table at least 2 hours since they got there. not professional and certainly not a humane way to treat a beloved pet. so nearly 5 hours after his appointment we had to jailbreak our dog out of there, and thus legs and face weren't even done. save your dog the trauma and go somewhere else. read more

We usually take our dogs to the Gilbert location for a pawdecure but it was booked so we got an appointment at the Queen Creek location all I have to say is NEVER AGAIN! The two girls working in there had no idea what they were doing. They had my male so stressed out that he pooped! I will say my dogs are not the easiest when it comes to cutting their nails but we've done this service several times without incident at the other location. We are so upset at the lack of training and lack of care at this location, we are still trying to calm the dogs down. We didn't get their nails done and the girl tried to tell us that their nails didn't look that bad anyway. What a waste of time! I would give zero stars if I could. read more

We've always been happy with the service at this PetSmart/ Pethotel. We've used the Pethotel and Doggie Daycamp several times for both our pups. They have been friendly and treat our dogs well. The workers even recognize them when we visit the store and call them by name. read more

Typical corporate BS chain. The groomers never get to know your dogs personally because it's a constant revolving door of teenagers working there, and depending on school and summer schedules, you'll rarely get the same groomer twice. I've been taking my pups there for over 6 years across multiple states, and every time, there's a new reason to never go back. In the past year, they've lost both of my dog's shot records... TWICE. The only reason I've kept going back is the hassle of finding a new groomer. But today was the last straw. Today they wouldn't even attempt to cut my Yorkie's hair the way I asked because it's against corporate policy when the dog has mattes. It's not even that bad, but because it's a corporate policy, the teenager behind the counter is at the mercy of some corporate paper pusher who cares more about volume than quality, and hourly wages over customer satisfaction. I have given Petsmart so many chances. I've left comments, and even helped them discover a flaw in their computer system that was inadvertently deleting shot records. But the company is a loser, and they're getting worse. There are several dog groomers in my area with great reviews. At least 1 of them takes walk-ins. I won't miss Petsmart. read more

We have brought our pup here for about three years.. recently I have noticed they have had a huge turnover in staff.. We noticed the new staff being a bit ruff and rude to the dogs they were grooming! Horrible service! Today I brought in our new pup for a haircut and was told that "she did not cooperate and was not able to get her serviced" but she still charged me more than half the cost. I have taken my 3 dogs to the Petsmart grooming in Queen Creek for many years. They seem to have a constant turn over in their staff and it makes it difficult for the dogs to adjust. Today, I was bringing in all 3 dogs at the same time, which I don't usually do. I called in asking if someone from the grooming area could come out and help me get them in. The girl said we are all too busy. They called me 3.5 hours after I dropped them off to let me know they were ready. I have always wanted to know why this always takes 3-4 hours. I went to pick them up and they had a additional $10 special handling fee. I have never had that before. The manager said it is because your dog was either not well behaved or it took the groomer more time then usual to groom them. I was unaware of the fee and should have been talking to about this before charging for it. Also, the prices always changed and they seem to have no way to give a good explanation. read more

This petsmart has had ick in their fish tanks for almost 2 years now. It supposedly cleared up a couple weeks ago but obviously all of the fish still have it. You can see the literal disease on their fins. i was unaware that they had it at this store until I was told by another petsmart location that I shouldn't buy fish from them. The problem with this is they have no signs or anything that states they have sick fish!!! I bought a frog to add into my tank and now all of my fish from before are going to get ick, the "manager" says to me "you can return the ones you bought yesterday but not the ones from before" lol what? your saying after selling me a frog with parasites, you won't return all the other ones you killed? 0 star review. they don't deserve even 1 star read more

Came here in the morning within the first hour of opening. There were lots of shoppers with their pets here. It was crowded to say the least. I knew exactly what I wanted. Entered the store and went to the aisles that had the products I wanted. Just maneuvering through the store, I was sniffed by multiple dogs. The noise level from barking dogs was unbelievable! I have NEVER been inside of a PetSmart with this volume level! Customer's pets (all dogs) barking at each other and jumping all over the place! It was as if I were inside a Chuk E Cheese for dogs! I am not kidding! Between the hyped dogs everywhere and the crowded nature of the store, I could not wait to leave! Only positives of this shopping experience: The PetSmart associate working the checkout was very nice and professional. Thanked me for shopping at PetSmart and everything. No dog poop or pee puddles on the floor of the store either. So, 1 star for the nice checker and 1 star for no animal waste on the floors = 2 stars. read more

I just picked up my dog from the pet hotel and my experience with the staff and the entire process really makes me question the care my dog received over the 3 days/nights they took "care" of her! I used to board my dogs at Petsmart in Northridge, CA and always had a great experience. The staff was friendly, informative and the facility was clean and bright. The pet hotel at this location was dark, dingy and not particularly clean. I questioned even leaving her there just from the negative vibes I got on my first impression, but I had to leave for my trip so I chanced it. The girl who checked us in on Wednesday, 8/24 evening had no personality, didn't smile and wasn't the least bit friendly or welcoming. The girls who assisted at checkout when we picked her up this evening, 8/27 were nicer and friendlier but had no idea if our dog had received the "seasonal package" we paid for. I was supposed to get a photo of my dog, which they said would be e-mailed (not disclosed up front), she was supposed to get a bandana (she didn't), a toy (which they gave only after I asked) ... and an ice cream treat which they assured me she had received. The "Pawgress Report" which used to be such a charming perk in the past, was hastily filled out with very little personalized information about how my dog did (none of the boxes were even checked off). To top things off the gentleman who initially booked our reservation asked what type of dog my Sadie was and I disclosed that she's a mix of mostly Australian Cattle Dog with a bit of Pitbull, Poodle and other breeds (we only know thanks to a DNA test we paid for since we adopted her from the shelter) and he never disclosed that she would not get social time with the other dogs because she has some Pitt, so she was limited in her activities and fun and it was all solo. He also said she would get a cookie treat and an ice cream treat with the summer package we tacked on ... at this point I'll settle for that emailed photo they promised is coming my way. As a result of this experience I will never board my fur babies with Petsmart again. They did not communicate honestly from the onset and I question the care my dog received, I'm just glad she's in one piece, appears healthy and happy to be back home. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely terrible customer service in the grooming department. We went in with our five month old golden retriever for a simple nail trim and bath. An hour later i get a call saying he is done. After I asked if he did okay, the groomer laughed and said no. Again, I had to ask for more clarification if they were able to get everything done. She responded with no again. I asked if they were able to try again since they still had two hours left with him and she hung up. When i went to get him I refused to pay and there was still no explanation of why they were not able to do what was scheduled. He came home traumatized.. never again. read more

We went to this location 2 times this past week to get a dogs nails trimmed. They are open until 9p. Went at 7p. No one there. Crickets. They said they are short handed and there is no one to work evenings. Would have been nice if they put that on the door, instead of us standing around and trying to find out what was going on. Went back at 7a this morning when they open. The gal who was working recently had surgery and could not pick up the dog to put on table to trim nails. Why is someone working alone who can't do the job??? So annoyed that we took our dog their 2 times and both times a bust. They used to do a great job, but won't be going back. I don't have time to just go back and forth to PetSmart in hopes that someday they can actually trim the nails. They have "Daria" working there who is either high on something or just woke up from a long night. This girl had no idea what was going on. The other girl that was grooming a dog had to help her. We used the regularly for grooming and pet hotel, made an appointment for our dog to be groomed and after they cancelled for the third time have decided not to take them back. Their explanation is that they are understaffed, but instead of cancelling the newest to oldest reservation they canceled all of the appointments for the groomer we were scheduled with. We never asked for a particular groomer so we should of had priority based on being cancelled twice before read more

I took my Goldendoodle puppy there to the Queen Creek location a week ago. This is my first dog so I didn't know where to take him. I was shocked when they brought my dog out to me. I know they said they would need to cut his hair short but it is nonexistent in some places. He no longer looks like a Goldendoodle and the cut on top of his head is all crooked. I was also told that "He has a lot to learn!" I won't be taking him back there to be groomed. I have him scheduled for some training there starting this Saturday but, I am not sure how that will go. read more

So aggravating, everywhere online store hours clearly stay open till 7 PM. I called down to the location they also tell me they close at seven. Luckily I came in a little early at five and the sign on the door clearly says they close at 6 PM. Worst Customer service EVER!!!! Took me 40min from the time I get off my car to the time I leave in my car, just to purchase 40 fish. Took an employee 30 min just to help us. I wasn't the only customer waiting for that long. We made eye contact with cashier, we physically went to he and ask her for help, none was provided for 30min! Ive been going here for almost 9 or 10 yrs. The last couple ive noticed a downturn inconsistency in the Groomers handling of my dog. More visits are like this, versus less. Some are not customer or dog focused, rather just "get it done" and hand the dog over to you. No report card on what and how my dog did. No little scarfs around their neck, etc. for a nice touch. They do not do a good job trimming or cutting/grinding nails. Obviously something is wrong with the management at this store. The Groomers care to a point, but when the service declines overall like this, its not because of pay, its how they are being treated as employee(s). read more

I don't think I could feel complete without a pet in our family.!!! We have two pups and a cat, so I frequent PetSmart quite often. They have the best selection of dog treats, we like to use the dental sticks which helps control tartar and helps with stinky breath! They work! Plus the boys really love them. As for Klaus our cat she loves the grass they sell there. Service is always friendly and the return policy rocks! I purchased two Kong balls and the boys fought over them constantly, I had to return them - they were great! No problem, I received store credit, but I didn't mind. This PetSmart also has a Banfield Pet Hospital, Pet Hotel , Grooming and Doggie Day Care. It's a nice to have sooooo many options close to home. read more

Store: I used to go to petco but the store was always messy (stock not unloaded) and the staff was always unprofessional or didn't know what they were talking about. I switched to petsmart because the store is always clean, has a bigger selection compared to petco, often has items on sale when petco never does and has a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Training: 5 star we're on week 4 training my dog to not be scared aggressive. When I was researching dog trainers I was planning on using a trainer that comes to the house based off of reviews online. I looked and looked at reviews but then I realized that these people might not have any idea what they are doing they could've just watched an episode of the dog whisperer and though hey I'll be a trainer. So I thought about it further and realized I always see training classes going on when I'm at petsmart. That thought really comforted me since petsmart does high volume training vs some random person online could be making it up as they go along. Linda the trainer at petsmart has been amazing! My dog has come so far when i thought it wasn't possible. I highly recommend Linda. I plan to sign up for more classes with her read more

This is not my local PetSmart but I took my stepdaughter to a PetSmart hiring event and unfortunately my local store was not participating. We were guided to the QC store but it was not the location she was able to work at. Nonetheless, Jason gave us a wealth of information. This review is based off of their Pet Smart Grooming not the shopping basis of the store. I've taken my border collie/german shepherd mixed there three different times for grooming. The first time I was extremely hesitate because I've never had a dog that needed to be groomed and honestly I looked for mobile grooming before deciding to bring her here. When I brought her in I only had her for maybe about a month and she was a stray and very shy around new people. The gal who groomed her was absolutely incredible and understanding of how unsure I was and my dog was. I wish I remembered her name but unfortunately I don't and my account didn't save it either. The appt itself was not even 2 hours which was great since we don't live on this side of town. She looked so much better and the little bit of the conversation I had with the groomer I could tell she truly cared about her clients. The second time I brought her in I found out that the girl who groomed her last no longer worked there. With no choice I still had her groomed there and was done by Amberlee I believe, again the appt was maybe 2 hours and my dog looked fine. Her tail was cut shorter than we wanted but overall it was an okay job and good enough to get her through majority of the summer. Today was our third time using them and our last. Tarryn I think was the groomer and my husband and I were not pleased at all. First of all when I dropped her off I said specifically that last time they cut her tail too short so I asked to just have it trimmed but left on the longer side and she said that was fine. We came back about 2 hours later to see if she was close to being done. My husband goes in to check and was told to him rudely that appts take 3-4 hours and they haven't started her yet. What? The last two times have been about 2 hours and she's been for 2 hours and you haven't started her yet? How does that work? What's the point of scheduling an appt if you're not going to even abide by it? Whatever, so we waited there for another hour since it made no sense to drive home wait there for 15-20 minutes just to turn around. They brought my dog out and she was shaking and was jumping on us with so much anxiety and we could tell she just wanted to go home. With this we didn't do a good look through at her before we left and I wish we had because I would of raised some hell. But we didn't, we paid and took our baby home. After being home for awhile we both got a better look at her and we're not happy whatsoever. Her tail is super short which is the complete opposite of what we asked. Her back half of her body was cut short and then the front half including her neck and ears looks like it was not even touched. If it was, it was barely even trimmed. The shampoo and conditioner they used that's suppose to be the "top dog" is crap. Her fur is so rough and scratchy now, it's just ridiculous. Now, I personally have to rewash her and purchase my own set of dog clippers to attempt to complete/fix their mistakes. This whole experience was just awful and not even worth the money especially since the groomer cost $61 and I added the "top dog" service $18. All in all we basically paid nearly $80 for an incomplete and incompetent job. Generally I would call and demand a refund because this is insane and not worth the money but what's done is done and now all we can do now is warn anyone looking for a groomer to stay away from here. Ps. All of you who work there currently need a class or workshop on customer service because every time I've walked in there, everyone has RBF (resting b**** face) and are incredibly rude. I'm a first time dog owner. I just rescued my chihuahua mix dog. Took him in for a first time grooming and boy was I disappointed. I had all kinds of questions and the groomer was so annoyed I had questions. I asked about the tick treatment they do and she said she had no clue. She processed to try to just get rid of me. Once my dog was "done" he didn't look any different or smell any different and nails looked horrible. The groomer expected a tip and I said absolutely not. I sent in a complaint to the manager all she did was say sorry ask for me next time... not worth it all! Glad I used a coupon and didn't pay anything out of pocket because it wasn't worn one dime ! read more

Our family has been blessed with a fur baby we found on the side of the road. She's definitely not even 8 weeks and our primary concern was to get her checked out as soon as possible. For a chip, 1st round of shots, and all the works. I called the Ellsworth location who stated they are not currently taking new members as they have to many pets on record. Understandable. However when I asked for information from a professional point of view on how to take care of the baby on my own until they are ready for new member the women in the phone laughed and said she needs to put me on hold. I was on hold for 15 minutes and someone answered and said "sorry wrong line, I'll transfer you" they put me in an additional hold for 30 mins. I would appreciate if they'd just told me to call back another time as they are busy. Instead they kept me in the line. All I had was questions on pricing for future reference and how I can properly take care of the fur baby on my own. read more

Recently took my 7 month old mini schnauzer to this location for training class. Since the outbreak of covid-19 this was the first they started classes again. I have taken other pets to Petsmart for training and was pleased with the results. The best trainer ever was Charlie in Mesa. The trainer here is Linda and she is awful. I usually never write bad reviews but don't want anyone else to waste their time or money. First off, schnauzers are barkers and she told me she never would have gotten my dog. Then she said she knew of Charlie and I should forget the methods he used. There was only one other dog in the class and she told both of us our collars and harnesses were wrong and wanted us to go online and get a very expensive harness made in Italy! She talked nonstop about what she was going to teach. We were late getting started and did not do much. Not impressed, but since I paid I showed up for the second lesson along with the other pet owner. We were on time. However Linda didn't show and so after 20 minutes I went looking for a staff member and he went looking for the trainer. Came back and told us she got her schedule mixed up and was on a register. When she finally came over to us there was no apology and wanted to tell us what an awful day she had. I almost lost it then, but calmly requested a refund. I was charged for the first "lesson" but refunded the rest. The other pet owner and I will be looking elsewhere for training. read more
