Petsmart Training with Edna--Basic, Intermediate and advanced. This was not the Pet training I expected or even wanted the first couple classes BUT was what I needed for my two puppies. My husband and I signed up for these classes to help with behavioral issues and basic training for separated at birth sisters that got reunited around 8 months of age (German shepherd/great Pyrenees). Stella we had just adopted from shelter a few months prior to starting classes and Skye we had had for 8 months already. Skye and Stella were my husbands first dogs, whereas I have had family pets around forever creating a familiarity with basic training. I came into the class wanting to leave with perfect dogs and everything I didn't like to be "fixed". The wonderful and frustrating part of Edna for me was she was not in a rush. She gained trust with the dogs, learned their personalities and then worked at the problems week by week not in a single session. She was stable and logical and brought up a lot of points about raising a rescue/shelter dog vs raising a dog from young puppyhood. Edna created a very safe environment for Stella to learn to trust humans and love people again, and we are so thankful for her kindness + her true love for animals. Stella's personality went from shelter survival mode to curiosity and loving to learn. I believe having a kind and patient trainer was a highlight that allowed this--I can see how my strict and militant mind was intimidating for Stella to learn things. Edna trained us humans to allow our dogs to be themselves and develop while respecting our boundaries and listening to cues. We are so happy with progress the dogs have made and are very happy that edna was our trainer in group classes :D read more

Ayana and Sunshine were amazing! The customer service was top tier from start to finish. When I came to pick Benny up the groomer wasn't there so I spoke with Ayana (forgive me if I spelled it wrong) Failed inspo photo which is what I was afraid of from TikTok compilations of their disappointments from this place with grooming services. The look i wanted (teddy bear cut): * Rounded, plush face. * Legs left fuller and cylindrical ("column legs"). * Body about 1/2 inch long but still fluffy. * Tail left very full and feathery. * Overall soft, plush appearance. What Benny received: * Body is much shorter than a teddy bear cut. * Legs were clipped very close, making them look skinny instead of fluffy. * The face is nice, but it's more of a pet trim than a rounded teddy bear face. * The tail was trimmed down, although they did leave the tip fluffy. * His ears are adorable and they kept them fairly full. When I came to pick my pup up I was so disappointed I won't even lie. Harpo who is dis!? Now I was definitely concerned my dog would act a plum fool since he's a puppy and not used to grooming. So I will definitely give some grace for his behavior and anxiety. With that being said I still hate it lol maybe it will grow on me. The groomer said there was areas which the fur was a bit matted which I will give a bit of grace for but it was more on the under side where his belly is near the joints so why he was shaved so close is a bit ridiculous to be honest. The rationale for his face was a bit more understanding with him being too fussy to touch his face. Still I'm super bummed with his first grooming and I don't think I will get the same groomer if I do. In all honesty if you can't do the cat somewhat similar I would rather you 1. Just say that 2. Get another groomer to do it 3. Reach out to let me know the plan so I don't show up to this strange dog . I mean a heads up. Did I mention I hate it. lol there are also some space the cut just looks ragged. Idk I am not a fan. Sunshine's customer service was definitely top tier but I'm not a fan at the results like at all. This is not to all the employees but I went to go grab some products recently and couldn't find what I needed so I went to up to the cash register to ask if they had it in stock when I got to the register there was a employee working in one of the middle register she was white with dreads probably 40+ talking to a customer that she already checked out when she saw me standing in line she proceeded to to tell me that the register was closed I then said I just had a question she ignored me gave me a look and turned back to talking to the other customer acting as she didn't hear my question so I proceeded to ask again but directly if they had that product then she finally gave an answer. This was by far the worst grooming experience I've ever had at PetSmart. I've been a loyal customer since 2020, and my dog has always been loved by every groomer--until now. I booked the Bath & Brush ($40) plus Special Package ($35). I dropped my dog off at 1:00 PM, and by 1:40 PM they called saying he was "ready." In just 40 minutes? When I arrived, my dog was still wet on his belly and back, and he smelled terrible--not like a freshly bathed dog at all. I politely asked the groomer why the service was incomplete because there's no nail trim, no bandana, no toy--nothing, and all she did was blame my dog, who obviously cannot defend himself. When being asked, the groomer (Cecilia L.) blamed my dog, saying he "tried to bite." That is a lie. My dog is 5 years old, trained at PetSmart, never aggressive, and never even barks at people. I requested camera footage--they refused. The manager only dried him again and sprayed perfume to mask the smell. Four days later, I discovered my dog's ear was scratched and bleeding. This was not an accident--it was neglect and rough handling. PetSmart South Sacramento should be ashamed. My dog left terrified, injured, and dirty. I will never trust this location again, and I urge all pet parents to think twice before bringing their pets here. read more

I wanted to exchange a outdoor dog bed that I had gotten online for one that they had in store since the one I bought was so big. I had called in prior and asked if they had it in stock and if they could hold it at the register; they agreed. When I arrived, I waited in line, but unfortunately it wasn't there. But the ladies that work in the store were respectful. The worker behind the desk said I could leave my returning dog bed where she was and told me where I might find the new dog bed. I couldn't find it. so I asked another employee in the store and she told me I could wait in line and she'd bring it to me, which was very nice of her. When I got in line, I was waiting for about 10 minutes behind a few customers that we're having trouble with their receipt or something. I'm not sure, but the same girl who helped me find the dog bed came over and opened up a new register because she could see that the line was growing. Overall, I thought the Customer Service was great. The surrounding area is a little iffy, but the inside of the store is kept clean. read more

We came here to purchase a fishtank for our son. There's not much of a selection of plants for the fishtank at this location. As we were looking for a tank, I looked up, and there were crazy spider webs on top of the shelves that go across to the other aisles. It looks like a spider may have gotten loose from its habitat and has been living on the shelves for a while now. It almost looked like it could have been decorations from Halloween. Lol. I'm definitely not exaggerating. I should have taken pictures, but I did not want to be over in the fish aisle anymore and come across the spider that made its home somewhere in that area. The staff here are really nice and very helpful. After purchasing the fish tank and getting home, we opened the box, and the fishtank was broken. He engaged in conversation and was very pleasant to not only myself but I noticed with all the customers he assisted. I have been taking Zara to get groomed for years now. Yesterday, Zara visited her favorite groomer, Mathew. I would select whoever was available the day that best worked for me. However, one day she got a groomer that charged me extra, because Zara was "difficult." After this we got lucky to get scheduled with Mathew and he has been our go to ever since. I booked a grooming appointment for my lovely labradoodle and these pictures should tell you more than enough. We are heart broken, we barely recognized our pup. They weren't able to cut his nails either. We will never be returning as a customer ever again. The manager did assist me with a refund after explaining my complaint. I personally talked to the groomers and she had a bad attitude and told me they offer training at the same location, how unprofessional! Plenty of parking in the shared lot. Clean interior. Since it is a pet store, it has that distinct smell from pet food and all. Hand sanitizer available by the entrance, and it seemed like they had some dispensers around the store. The staff do not wear masks. The cashier greeted me when I came in. I saw some staff helping other customers, though no one talked or checked on me - which is 100% fine by me, I'm glad to look at products uninterrupted. Some of the betta fish were completely still in semi-dirty water, which was a bit sad. There were dead fish in some of the tanks. The chinchilla looked depressed. He was super attentive & answered all my questions. I was nervous because this was their first time going there & I was very satisfied. I came in to buy food for my Cichlids. I actually got the last bag of Mini Pellets by Hikari. In fact that area of the Hikari was "ALMOST" empty. I was pretty lucky to get the last bag, but it would have been a shame if i was the one that came right after someone purchased the last bag. :( The place is clean and the worker at the cash register was pretty clear and concise and got me out within less than 2 minutes. Dropped off our dog to get a haircut and bath. Received a call that during the cut my dog got cut due to matting. Was told since the ear had bled that hey could not continue with haircut. Picked up my dog and he was uncut every where. Half his body was shaved and the other untouched. We have come here a few times to get our dogs nails trimmed. It was only recent when we decided that we would get our dog washed here. I took my dog here about a week and a half ago. They said he did very good and the only thing was that his coat was oily. He was nonstop scratching and acting all kinds of crazy every since he got a bath at petsmart. I thought maybe they used some type of shampoo to make his coat less oily and maybe it dried out his skin. We found a tiny bug on him the other day and wasn't able to find anything else but saw that his skin was a little dry. However today, we washed him because he would not stop scratching and found fleas on him. We know this is not from the house because he has never had fleas before and our other dog does not have fleas. It was only until after getting a bath here that he brought it home. Funny thing is after taking him there, I started getting emails about flea prevention and coupons for flea treatment. I'm never going back here again! This is horrible that my dog has to deal with these bugs on him. You guys need to clean all of your stuff before other dogs start going home with fleas. BEWARE! Fernando the best groomer in Petsmart left to Noah Art in Elk Grove. (I have wrote a review for his new place) I brought a fish here and it died 4 days later. Kept the receipt because if states that if your fish died within a week you can get a new fish. So I got a new fish and that died again after a little over a month of getting new fishes, I just gave up. Turn out if you Google search Petsmart and fish tons of review would pop up about how Petsmart are known to sell sick fishes. How sad!! Unpleasant experience I just had here at petsmart. The black man at the front with dreads was very rude and didnt even care to help me find what i was looking for. I asked him twice and both times he just pointed the general area. Luckily more employees started coming to the registers. They cancelled me today before my appointment time all because one employee wasn't prepared or properly trained. I called to ask why my appointment was cancelled and Melody says because I had been extremely rude to the groomer Myah for not having my vaccine certificate. First of all how was I rude to someone that I hadn't even met yet. This call was on for 7-10mins, I tried to explain she was talking to the incorrect person, then she stated the rude lady was in the car with me. Super defensive, accusing me when she was extremely upset and just very unprofessional, I couldn't get through to this woman over the phone at all. I showed up to my appointment just to see her face & when I showed up with my dog & certificate, she left to "lunch" conveniently. The manager of the day couldn't care less said oh sorry and kept on with her day. Jocelyn & Mathew were extremely understanding and helpful for them I give this location 3 stars. Mathew has taken very good care of my Yorkie in the past and Jocelyn took responsibility even though it wasn't her fault and didn't concern her. My Frenchie didn't get seen at all and it's very disappointing that I wasted my time, gas & energy over one silly employee that obviously needs to be trained or moved to the warehouse (customer service is not her thing that's for sure). Just beware & make sure you have time to spare. I've been shopping at Pet smart for over 17 years. I've bought dog, cat, lizard,snake, hamster, and fish food and supplies. We even supported a rabbit for some time from Timothy Hay purchased there. I have NEVER returned a purchased of any kind from the thousands of dollars spent. I attempted to return items I purchased for a chameleon, and chew toys for a dog the other night. The clerk was helpful., Professional, and quick. Then the manager came out and began to shut it down, he kept flip flopping on the return policy, changing it for his convenience. Worst of all, he more than implied that I had stolen the items. Even after we were able to find the receipt, he told me he had to have the original receipt and couldn't help me. "I've worked here a long time", he rudely and loudly stated . Implying that he knew of some secret agenda of which, I'm unaware. I've never been to the. Florin store, and I've never stolen from Pet Smart, returned anything, never even attempted a return. Needless to say I was upset, he called me a thief and then went on loudly to say he would call the other stores and make sure I couldn't return it there. This is after we found the digital receipt. "But I have to have the original, it's store policy" I called corporate and she read me the entire policy. 1. There is nowhere that states you have to have a receipt for chew toys or for lights. you can get a merchandise credit without a receipt for sellable, items such as the ones I had, with a valid ID, (which I never asked for anything but store credit. Further,since we found the digit receipt, I was eligible for payment in any form from credit, cash , atm return etc. From the moment he Walked up and shut down the return , he was loud, rude, unprofessional, and biased. This location is close by my house. It gets the job down if I'm running low on puppy pads or puppy wipes. Parking: It feels like it's distant from all the other retail shops in this strip mall, so there's plenty of parking. I always find some in the front. Grooming: You have to schedule a couple of days in advance. I tried to schedule an emergency grooming appointment the day of and was unsuccessful. (which is ok, its understandable). Service: The employees here are friendly. They greet me when I walk in and ask me if I need anything. Overall, I like this store. It's good if I ever need to do a quick run. read more

I have shopped at PetSmart Florin for many years for pet supplies and dog grooming. With grooming closed I have to groom my own dog, which isn't going well. I was near PetSmart Florin and decided to stop in to purchase dog treats to help encourage my pup to cooperate. I also had to use the bathroom first (it was urgent) and I noticed no bathrooms signs. I asked security if the bathrooms were open, he said yes, but then started questioning me about making a purchase. I told him what I wanted buy, but I urgently needed to use the restroom first. He said show me a recipe and I'll let you use the bathrooms. Otherwise to talk to management. I was shocked. I told him this is weird and walked out. I called PetSmart Florin management and talked to Sicely. She was very apologetic and offered me a discount on my next purchase of dog treats. She said she would look into the matter. As a returning customer for their grooming service, I am extremely disgruntled with my most recent visit! Following the appointment for my two dogs on May 16th 2016, I was horrified to find that my dogs were almost unrecognizable after taking them back. I specifically asked that my cavalier King Charles spaniel not have his ears cut and that he have a light trim. And rather than listening to my request, they did a full shave of his body and ears. Similarly I asked that my bichon frise to have a trim on the body and a light trim of her head. Apparently they took this to mean I wanted her entire body shaved down to the skin. The problem was not isolated to the service itself, as I was also met with an unfriendly and distasteful employee who thought it best to shave my dogs instead of giving me other options. She even had the audacity to sarcastically tell me to groom my dogs myself if I wanted the haircut I asked them to do. Though they did do the trimming of the nails and dental cleaning I requested, their overall lack of service left me upset. All in all I would not recommend them to any other dog owners who don't want their dogs tortured. And the only thing getting cut is my business with them. read more
