I wasn't too happy on how my pet was after the grooming service, I've mentioned multiple times that this will be a very first trim and bath for my puppy therefore she may need desensitize. I was told that they understand and they'll take care of my pet. I mean they did a good job on trimming her face and under belly, I just wasn't happy on how my pet wasn't herself for more than a couple days, she lost appetite and looked traumatized. Booked a grooming appointment for our dog online. Accidentally booked 2 different days and cancelling one was very easy, just a quick phone call. There's a convenient text service to remind you of upcoming appointments and to confirm that you booked services. We paid $37 for a bath and brush + $12 for a tooth brushing and breath freshener Don't forget to tip! ** Groomers name: India She is so kind, you can tell she loves animals and actually likes her job. She was comforting our dog and even went above and beyond to offer a larger kennel since there were no big dogs back there. Our dog came out so clean and brushed out and looking happy! This store needs to stop selling fish. Period. Their tanks are always gross, have algae, have fish with parasites, they sell demasoni cichlids, and these are NOT fish for beginners!!!! These are for advanced fish keepers who understand the requirements of African cichlids. It makes me sad to think of the hell some unsuspecting community fish will have to endure because someone thought demasoni were pretty. And now let's talk about the bettas. During a recent visit to buy a few supplies, I was appalled at the condition of the bettas. Please see the attached screenshots from a quick video I took of the display. I'll upload the video, too. When bettas are kept in these tiny cups, the ammonia in the water grows by leaps & bounds. Fish give off ammonia when they defecate AND when they breathe. These bettas did not seem to have fish waste in the water which makes me think they are not being fed. So they are slowly starving while living in ammonia contaminated water. Great. I asked an employee how often the water gets changed and was told once a week. Once a week is fine for a tank with a filter and live plants. Once a week is not adequate for 6 ounces of water in a cup! And looking at these cups, they have ALGAE, which means I was lied to. Algae happens when the water is out of balance. Too much waste and nothing to take it up---like live plants. In Germany, bettas are kept in small aquariums with filtration and plants, and because bettas are aggressive with each other, only every other tank has a fish so they don't have to see one another and get stressed out. Our stores need to follow this model. When I went to ring up, I was asked how I was doing. I said I'd be better if they took care of the bettas. He ignored me and asked if I wanted a bag. I said no and told him I'd change the betta water for free while I was there just to know it got done because they had some that were barely hanging on and the ammonia in the cups was going to be off the charts. He asked if I wanted my receipt. I forgot something for my dog, so I'm going back this weekend and I will be checking the state of those betta cups. I'm not expecting anything to be different. My betta lives in a gorgeous 10 gallon home I built just for her. Every betta should be so lucky. When I bought her, she was purchased from a shop that keeps their bettas in tanks with plants and filtration. Why can't Petsmart do something similar? I do not recommend this store AT ALL. read more

Let me just say that everyone working in the store is very nice and helpful. However the store needs to do better for animals in their care! We got a guinea pig from the store, we didn't plan on getting one, we came to get new water bottles for ours, we already have 2 at home. But a big adult guinea pig was in a tiny terrarium, the space is simply not adequate for him and looked so sooooo sad :( when we got home we noticed that poor guy is tilting his head on the side...well...long story short...poor thing has a severe ear infection, meaning it's been developing not for a day or two, but at least for few weeks. Honestly, it's just a plain cruelty towards animals :( read more

We have been taking our dog to get groomed at this location for the past 4 years. We have a corrective leash on her that is just a strap over the nose (NOT a muzzle) and they rejected her from getting groomed because of that even though we've taken her there for years with the same leash. Highly embarassing and highly unprofessional. There should be a notification that certain leash types aren't allowed or they should have told us that some point in the last... idk 4 years? Not to mention every single time we get her groomed here something is wrong. First they clipped her paw pad and the turned into a cyst that never disappeared. Then there is always something they forget like trimming her nails or trimming her paw fur or the coupon book - they also never sent us the Valentine's Day picture. Always let it slide because they are right next to our place and decently priced. Will never return. read more

i have been taking my little Totsie to this place for about 3 years. i like this place because they are friendly and do a pretty good job with my yorkie. We have had the chance to try out a few groomers at this location, but the last groomer that i have taken Totsie to, Jaxx is extremely awesome. Jaxx is very nice and does a great job at what she does! i recommend taking your dog here! They are all friendly and you can just tell that they all have a love for animals. I initially booked a nail trim appointment. They booked me with JASMINE and she had a horrible attitude. Alyssa kindly checked us in and informed her of us. Jasmine immediately starts complaining and says "do you have time." Kindly enough Alyssa agreed. Jasmine states "I don't know why they added that onto my schedule and didn't even let me know." Immediately the attitude of not wanting to do teamwork is horrible work attitude especially saying it in front of the client . Alyssa service was 5/5 she was gentle with Milo. I have 2 other petsmarts that are closer to home, but this location is by far worth the extra drive. I took my puppy here for training classes last year, and she had a great experience. Today, we had our first grooming at this location. Previously, we went to the Elk Grove location but were not satisfied with our experience there. The groomers here were much more friendly and seemed to actually be enjoying their jobs. Would definitely be taking my dog to this location from now on. read more

I will not be taking my dog here for grooming anymore. There are a bunch of new groomers here and they don't handle the dogs well. I've taken my dog here for years and never had any issue until my last visit a few days ago. When I got home and looked at my dogs eyes both of the whites of his eyes were blood shot red. You can't see this at first because it's the whites of his eyes so he has to look to the side to be able to notice. I was so worried because I've never seen that before. I had to take him to the vet to get examined and they said blood vessels popped in both of his eyes. The vet said this can be caused from too much pressure around his neck or some sort of strain. The only thing he had done that day was go to the groomers. I called the groomer afterwards and asked if there was any type of struggle he exhibited and she said he wasn't comfortable with her cutting his nails and kept tugging his neck on the leash trying to bite. I asked if the leash was around his neck and she said yes, and I said well it seems that was what caused him to come home with blood vessels popped in his eyes. I never use a leash around my dogs neck because he's super small and the leash pulls extremely hard against his neck. I always use a harness. They didn't even have the audacity to tell me after the fact that something was off, until I had to call and ask. So I told them to notate the file. I will not be taking my dog here anymore. read more

Regarding the grooming department only--Jocelyn W. is AMAZING!! I've taken my pup to see her twice so far and, both times, I'm blown away by what a good job she's done! She's friendly, efficient, and knows how to groom a dog! I highly recommend booking her for your next bath and brush!! I usually add on a Pawdicure Plus which comes with a sanitary trim and nail cut and grind. Can't wait until she's certified to cut my pups hair! Our Standard Poodle was just groomed by Katey B. Absolutely the worst butcher job in our 15 years of getting our poodle and Labradoodles groomed! She said he was very matted which he wasn't. Our dogs have been matted in the past and we are aware of what that looks like. Katey shaved his tail! His tail was not matted!!! Just needed to be brushed out. She also said it was difficult to groom his feet because he was pulling. Rocky loves to be touched and groomers in the past have always said how cooperative he is doing the grooming. She finished in less than 3 hours. It usually takes 3.5 to 4 hours. Katey did a lazy job with obviously no passion for her profession. We will never have our dogs groomed at PetSmart again unless we get confirmation that Katey is fired. Her quality of work confirms her lack of pride in her workmanship and she should find another line of work. read more

UPDATE: I switched people and was hoping it wasn't PetSmart as a whole. DO NOT BOOK WITH AMBER B. My dog (who rarely ever barks at home) was apparently "barking too much" during a grooming and my account was immediately blocked from future bookings online. After he's been seen there for months, with no issues listed on reports, he barks for one session (as dogs do) and I can no longer book. ALL groomers were looking at me judging LT and obviously agitated at pickup. I will never use another PetSmart groomer again, extremely unprofessional and short tempered. Should not be working with dogs if barking upsets you. I truly hope he was not mishandled due to the irritation that was very clearly present. ------------------------------ Do not take your long haired pups here for grooming. I took my doodle, I asked to "trim down the body and neck, leaving as long as possible, frame face to get hair out of eyes, trim under ears, and round the top and feet. Also trim snout" I left with a patchy poodle imitation. And they cut his whiskers! I brush him out prior to any grooming and matting was minimal and only under his ears (which was confirmed at drop off, and the reason I like to keep that area short). So disappointed. This is regarding the grooming department. I have the most horrible grooming experience at this location. My dog is fine going to any other groomers but he get extremely scared when we to this particular location and today I know why. A 2.5 hours grooming session turned into a 7 hour ordeal, they didn't care to call me to inform that my dog was done with his grooming until I called them expressing my concern as to why they took so long and they casually said we forgot. My dog is scared and completely worn after we got home and I'm concerned to as what else they did to him. I'm never going back to this location because I'm concerned for his safety. read more

I brought my golden doodle puppy for grooming. As most people know, golden doodles are very hyper. However, they are super loving and not mean. My dog is not mean at all. The friendliest puppy. I've brought my dog three times. The first time was just for a puppy bath to get him used to the groomers. They said he did okay, but a little crazy. They said he's a puppy so that it was okay. The second time, they made me come pick him up after about an hour because he "was too hyper". I was slightly irritated, but I came to get him. The third time I brought him, they shaved him down way shorter than I had asked. If he was too knotted, I wish they would have called me before shaving. I just don't feel like this pet smart is very patient with puppies, and it made me feel like my dog was a horrible puppy every time I picked him up. read more

I'm so grateful to have this wonderful store close by to my neighborhood! It's definitely my " go to" pet supply store! My older cat has hairballs. I had tried ALOT of varieties but finally found Authority dry cat food, hairball formula! It's been a life saver! Best of all the customer service is always top notch! The girls that work there are so helpful , knowledgeable & friendly! I have also used their generous discounts which I couldn't be more thankful for! Being on a tight budget with two rescue kitties, one being a kitten , helps out greatly! The store is always fully stocked, very clean & top notch customer service ! My only complaint would be to pay attention to the price on the shelves in comparison to what you're being charged! Also, if you see it cheaper online, they're able to adjust the price! read more

This review is only for the pet salon. Champ got the Puppy Trim package which is inclusive of the puppy bath & trim of face, potty area & paws. His groomer was Malinda T. Overall, it was only an OK job. I'm not expecting much for a puppy's first grooming, I understand they move a lot. But the job was a bit messy, specifically his face trim being uneven. It's not a big deal since my biggest concern was a grooming mistake that would result in injury which thankfully didn't happen. Plus it was only $20. She did a great job with the bath & cleaning tho. He came out looking super fresh & clean & smelling great. I'd take him here again for a Puppy Bath when needed. But anything to do w/ a hair cut I'll probably go elsewhere. My boyfriend and I love this PetSmart. We actually don't shop here often but bring our dogs for training and like to walk them around the store on non-training days. Ashley Q is the trainer that leads the classes and we love her! She's knowledgeable, is open to questions after class and spends the time to chat if she doesn't have back-to-back classes, and always provides great tips if you're looking for different options to approach a situation. All the staff at PetSmart we see around the store are very nice. Even when we see them three times a week, they always greet us and always ask if we need help.
