Booked a grooming appointment for our dog online. Accidentally booked 2 different days and cancelling one was very easy, just a quick phone call. There's a convenient text service to remind you of upcoming appointments and to confirm that you booked services. We paid $37 for a bath and brush + $12 for a tooth brushing and breath freshener Don't forget to tip! ** Groomers name: India She is so kind, you can tell she loves animals and actually likes her job. She was comforting our dog and even went above and beyond to offer a larger kennel since there were no big dogs back there. Our dog came out so clean and brushed out and looking happy! She went in shaky but it's really the way she comes out that I pay attention to. Thank you India for your great service, we will be back and hopefully you'll have some time slots open!

Clamped fins (ammonia causes that), algae.

This store needs to stop selling fish. Period. Their tanks are always gross, have algae, have fish with parasites, they sell demasoni cichlids, and these are NOT fish for beginners!!!! These are for advanced fish keepers who understand the requirements of African cichlids. It makes me sad to think of the hell some unsuspecting community fish will have to endure because someone thought demasoni were pretty. And now let's talk about the bettas. During a recent visit to buy a few supplies, I was appalled at the condition of the bettas. Please see the attached screenshots from a quick video I took of the display. I'll upload the video, too. When bettas are kept in these tiny cups, the ammonia in the water grows by leaps & bounds. Fish give off ammonia when they defecate AND when they breathe. These bettas did not seem to have fish waste in the water which makes me think they are not being fed. So they are slowly starving while living in ammonia contaminated water. Great. I asked an employee how often the water gets changed and was told once a week. Once a week is fine for a tank with a filter and live plants. Once a week is not adequate for 6 ounces of water in a cup! And looking at these cups, they have ALGAE, which means I was lied to. Algae happens when the water is out of balance. Too much waste and nothing to take it up---like live plants. In Germany, bettas are kept in small aquariums with filtration and plants, and because bettas are aggressive with each other, only every other tank has a fish so they don't have to see one another and get stressed out. Our stores need to follow this model. When I went to ring up, I was asked how I was doing. I said I'd be better if they took care of the bettas. He ignored me and asked if I wanted a bag. I said no and told him I'd change the betta water for free while I was there just to know it got done because they had some that were barely hanging on and the ammonia in the cups was going to be off the charts. He asked if I wanted my receipt. I forgot something for my dog, so I'm going back this weekend and I will be checking the state of those betta cups. I'm not expecting anything to be different. My betta lives in a gorgeous 10 gallon home I built just for her. Every betta should be so lucky. When I bought her, she was purchased from a shop that keeps their bettas in tanks with plants and filtration. Why can't Petsmart do something similar? I do not recommend this store AT ALL.

Kelli is such a caring, attentive, and amazing groomer!! My Winnie is super anxious, but she is always so patient with her & gives me a rundown on how my lil honey behaved during the process! I'm very appreciative of these amazing groomers at this PetSmart. Worth the 40 min drive just to know Winnie is in good hands with Kelli! :)

S/o to Natalie on the grooming team! I take two of my cats to her regularly and they return looking so dapper with their lil lion cuts and smelling so clean. Natalie is patient and caring with my kitties. I know they're in good hands with her and I so appreciate being able to see her.

Holistic & organic pet calming aid with B vitamins
    Lucy M.

I was looking for a natural calming aid to help my pup, Bella, get through the popping and explosion sounds from the July 4th fireworks. There are 2 types of organic chewable calming aids at PetSmart. 1) Just Relax herbal calming support is made with a blend of herbs and B vitamins to help manage normal every day stress. It also has oats, chamomile flower, passion flour extract, valerian root, and other homeopathic herbal supplements. 2) Hemp Calming Support is made with a powerful blend of hemp seed oil, chamomile, and magnesium. Both calming aids are made by "Only Natural Pet" and they are veterinarian holistic developed. Bella likes the flavor of both of them and will gobble either one up when I give it to her as a treat. However, the Just Relax blend with the B vitamins seems to work better for her on a daily basis to help manage her stress and separation anxiety.

PetSmart is one of the stores I love to check out when I see them because of Latte and Butters. They loved shopping there too! This store carries almost everything we need for Latte and Butters. Form good staple foods for them to the toys they like. They have more items in stock than some other PetSmart in the Sacramento area. The store is spotless. The shopping carts are clean, and the wheels are very smooth. The employees are friendly. I do enjoy shopping in this location.

My cat's manicure (Cat Nail Caps Applied)

Kristen B did an incredible job grooming my cat! My cat struggles with anxiety, but she seemed surprisingly comfortable being handled by Kristen. As a first-timer there, I really appreciated how Kristen guided me through the entire process and patiently answered all of my questions. We will definitely be back!

    Dead fish

I went to Pet Smart yesterday and was absolutely appalled when I walked past the 2 goldfish tanks. 95% of the fish in both tanks were dead!!! Poor children around the area were traumatized! Please clean out those tanks.

This is not only a benefit to pet owners but to their pocket book as well. He could just as easily charge for introductory classes. Instead he has a great system of a group class. Explains a lot in that class. This makes it cost effective and can help you determine if you and your pet are ready to commit. We have since taken a private lesson. The wealth of knowledge he has is impressive. He met us at a dog park and gave us plenty of things to work on. Remember he is a real trainer. That means he is training YOU to work with your pet. Not your pet to work with him. Our dog couldn't walk in a dog park without going crazy. Being a bit of an alpha and posturing. Now, he has been a great pup at the parks. I highly, Highly recommend seeing Jaimie. He has followed up with us since our session. He has really helped give us the confidence to read our pup.

I often approach google reviews with a healthy dose of skepticism, but after researching Jaimie's…read moreapproach to training, and gaining a cursory understanding of his training philosophy, I knew I had found the trainer I was looking for, and took a leap of faith. All I can say is: wow! My dog has never been happier and more well-behaved. Ironically, his approach, really, is about training you, the owner, to cultivate the behavior you want to see in your dog. He trains owners to address the root cause of behaviors, which leads to broad, systemic changes through energy-management and LOTS of positive reinforcement. Before finding Jaimie, I was worried I'd have to give my dog up to a sanctuary if I ever lived with another person who owned a dog because my dog's behavior was out of control. I no longer have that fear after training with Jaimie. He is truly a master of his craft, and I have full confidence his training techniques can work on any dog after seeing my dog's behavior transform. I have a 10 year old Shih Tzu that I adopted from the pound at 5 years old. She was constantly getting into trouble: jumping on furniture, marking in the house, pulling trash from trash cans, aggressive with kids and other dogs. I believed the folk wisdom that "you can't teach an old dog new tricks," and Jaimie shattered that myth within the first training session. Jaimie's approach is really quite simple, if you think about it: if you manage your dog's energy, and you set boundaries for your dog, you can create a completely new routine that your dog will adopt through your consistent, clear communication and praising good behavior. Over time, through consistency, you fall into a new routine, one where your dog listens and understands the expectations you've set, and it feels natural. Since beginning training, my Shih Tzu has stopped marking inside the house and outside during walks, stopped begging for food and stealing food from the toddler in my house, pulling trash from the trash cans, stopped barking at every little noise in the house, listens to my commands while walking on a leash, and no longer jumps on furniture. Additionally, she is generally happier, and more affectionate with every human she meets. Next, I'm planning to work with Jaimie on addressing my dog's anxiety with other dogs. All of the work the work you put into training really pays off, and I have full confidence that his techniques and attention to detail will help me guide my dog finally begin to trust other dogs. Trust the process, be patient with yourself and with your dog, remain consistent, and cultivate the behavior you want to see.

He had…read morea skin infection, had bad kennel cough (he would sneeze out large amounts of blood) and was recovering from being neutered. I gave him so much love and attention. What I did not realize at the time was that I was setting him up with bad habits. I let him control our house and do whatever he wanted. He wasn't ruining our things and was potty trained so I figured why not. He then started to growl if we bothered him while he was sleeping and then he started to bite us. Once he started to bite our guests, I was horrified. He ended up biting my parents dog so bad that he needed to get stitches and I was devastated. I felt responsible for all this harm but I also knew if I returned him back to the shelter, he would probably be euthanized. I did so much research to see if this was fixable. That's when I found Tammy. Her background is phenomenal. She is knowledgable and trustworthy. She helped us understand that our small dog is acting out because he is so nervous and we just needed to show him that we were in control. When we left him for her train and boarding program, I was expecting him to wear his muzzle the whole entire time. I was shocked to find out that she only needed it for a couple hours. She had her own dogs and cat living with her but she was able to make him feel safe and control any bad behavior. That nice thing about going to her instead of a big company is that she will be with your dog to correct him/her whenever they act oūut. When Tammy brought him back he was completely different. He was a lot calmer and we could walk him without him pulling and barking at other animals or people. He was also finally able to sit and stay. I never realized how important sitting is until he was trained. She also trained him not to mark his territory so hes not constantly trying to pull us to pee on random things anymore. He just squats to pee whenever we take him out to pee. She has taught us so much about how to read dog behavior and gain control so our dog no longer feels the need to control. Once in a while he tries to test us and go back into his old behavior but her board and training comes with 5 separate hour long sessions. And shes also available over text. She has never made us feel like we're bothering her with our questions. You can tell she genuinely wants to help people train their dogs and is not in it just for the money.

I cannot recommend OLK9, and specifically Trainer Christina enough…read more My pup is 5.5 years old, extremely sweet, but would get extremely excited around other people/ dogs. We couldn't take him in public. When we'd have to take him to the vet, he would pull so hard (90 lb pitbull/ American bull dog, so he pulls HARD) that he would choke himself and make my hand hurt from holding the leash, and he would SCREAM/ bark/ cry when we wouldn't let him go up to people and dogs. He wouldn't tire out. He would do that the entire time. It was stressful as all heck when we'd have people over to our house. He would jump all over people, knock over small kids, non stop licking people, etc for about 15-20 min before calming down. If we kept him crated when people were over, he'd scream the entire time (I'm talking HOURS). It was extremely stressful. We did the 2 week board and train program with Christina. I'll be honest, because his issues seemed more like personality issues rather than not knowing commands, etc. I was a little nervous that our biggest concerns wouldn't be fixed. Him sitting, laying down, walking on heel, etc would be nice and all, but really what we needed was for him to be able to CALM DOWN around people. Lucky for us, we got the best of both worlds! My husband and I are blown away by the change in our boy. It's truly day and night. We picked him just one week ago. Yesterday I took him to the local Farmer's Market. He walked at a heel the whole time, not pulling toward any of the other people or dogs. We also spent multiple minutes at a time in a "sit" or "down" position just watching. This used to be a scenario where he'd be going crazy trying to get to everyone, but he remained calm for the whole 45 ish minutes we were there. Shortly after that, we had 2 new-to-Wesley friends come over to our house. I placed him on his cot before they came in the door. He jumped up once, but after I placed him back on it, he remained there and didn't move until I allowed him too. I thought for sure after I let him off, he'd run over and jump on his new friends. But nope! He walked over and let them pet him, but remained calm with all four feet on the floor and didn't lick them like crazy. He spend most of the afternoon just laying near us but not demanding attention like usual. He even stayed by himself quietly inside, while we were in the backyard (another first, he always wants to be where the people are) A total transformation!! Not having him for 2 weeks was definitely tough but Christina sent us multiple pictures and videos every single day, letting us know how he was doing and just showing us his cute face. She was quick to answer every question. You can truly tell how much she loves dogs and what she does. When we picked him up, we spent about 2 hours where Christina taught up how to use the e collar and worked on some training with us and Wesley together. The only thing I'm disappointed in with this training is not doing it sooner. I am in awe of what my boy learned at almost 6 years old and I truly cannot recommend Christina enough. We drove 5+ hours round trip for her training and it was so so worth the drive and the cost. THANK YOU CHRISTINA!!!
