Can I just say BEST PET STORE in the whole world? Those words don't even do justice! My kids and I found a stray bird that was definitely a pet. We brought it to them late on a Thursday night frantic and totally clueless about birds. They were SO patient and kind. Took a ton of time giving us bird info and helping us pick a perfect cage. It was busy in the store too and yet these 3 workers, managed to actively and wonderfully assist us and still take AMAZING CARE of all the other guests and pets!!! As a former customer service worker I know how many tasks they handle. Yet they multi tasked, spent personal time with each guest, and were professional and thorough throughout the whole time! These particular three are: Supervisor/ assistant Page, Natasya, and Jordan. At one point we put bird in cage and realized it needed a bigger one. They were so nice and not cranky at all about having to return the smaller cage even though we had put it together and all. They were truly concerned about our pet and our experience. We found perfect bigger cage after and everything was just great when we got our birdie all situated at home. My son and I even thought about naming our bird after then! Also, they gave us a handout about our kinda bird which was super helpful. These guys go OUT OF THEIR WAY TO HELP GUESTS. They should all get praised. I hope corporate knows what a phenomenal store they are! The bar should be set this high for all other stores. They should literally be the model store for PET SMART. Thanks guys! read more

Isaac is any old boy & was a bit traumatized earlier this week having to have 5 teeth extracted and his remaining teeth deep cleared. (We were more them a bit traumatized at the cost for that!) The great part of today's appointment was that the girl I booked it with, told me I could save $5.00 by checking in on Yelp on top of the current 15% off coupon I already had.. Really great service. My dog was running out of food and so I ordered it online and did curbside pick up. I was disappointed when I got there. The app said to click "I'M HERE " when I arrive, so I did. I've been waiting in my car for about 10 minutes and no one came. And then there's this guy that just got there and got his order delivered to his car. So I asked the guy how he did it. He said he called instead of doing the app to notify that he's there. So I told the employee that I've been waiting for my order and that's when she went back inside the store to get my order. I don't know how they pay attention to their online curbside pick up. It's just disappointing. read more

Since I buy buffalo blue dog food for my babies, this place is convenient. But I can find toys and treats much cheaper at costco or other stores. Even though they claim to price match for products, they don't do price match with Walmart. I rescued a dog a few months ago and needed diapers for him. We just got a new puppy and we were very anxious as most new parents are and as well, we have another furry child that doesn't alway play nice with others. This sweet, funny, very accommodating and knowledgeable trainer JORDAN went above and beyond the scope of her job duties and pretty much saved our butts. She helped us get all the things we need for both the new dog and the one at home too, she encouraged us and was very patient. She went out of her way to help us and show that she really cares. She's amazing and she embodies what customer service should look like. When u come to this store, ask for JORDAN!! Hopefully one day she can own her own pet store. She's the best. Absolutely horrible experience. I have been coming here since they opened and have steadily watched the level of service in the grooming department go to crap. I had a 9 am appt and went to drop my dog off at 8;35 (as I have done for years). The girl said, "you cannot drop off the dog until 9". I had to go to work, so as I was leaving (with my dog) I saw a man walk his dog up and 1) not only take my appt, but 2) dropped his dog off for my 9 am appt. Where do they find these kids? (On a side note, the last time I was in, I commented to the groomer that the dog she was working on was gentle. She said, "yes, but I do not understand his name- SEW-KRATES".....I simply turned away disappointed in our education system. The Greek Philosopher "Socrates" must have been spinning in his grave. You really can't fix stupid. PS- Store manager was noce and offered to take her back, I really am not comfortable taking my dog there. read more

Great range of products and they allow you to bring your pets on a leash. Even better, they have a great set of Vets here. Years and years and years, vets have been telling my girlfriend and I that our dog has Ear Infections. PetSmart vets actually went in there, tested his ear and let us know that it's a Major Bacterial Infection, which no other Vet has even come close to diagnosing. They did more for us than just give us meds like any other vet. They found the real problem and never tried upselling us on more expensive services. They recommended services that would fit our situation pricewise as well as only addressed what we needed and not what we would want. Case in point. We almost got the most expensive Care Plan for our dog but they said we don't need the most expensive, just the one right below it. Thanks guys! read more

I always come to this store for all of my dog and fish needs, and I am never disappointed! Everyone is always extremely nice, and very helpful. However, there was something a little different today. I have a Betta fish, and he is not doing so well. Max saw me standing in the fish department, asked if I needed help and in return I asked him how much he knew about Bettas. This is a great place for unique pet supplies. They have a full service groomer, veterinarian, and dog training on site. Just cover your eyes when you walk past the animals awaiting adoption outside. Seriously, they are so hard to resist, especially the puppies. They are a little more pricey but if you are looking for a speciality item or fish supplies, this is a good store, well laid out and staff is helpful. I've used the dog groomers a few times and my dogs look and smell great. So cute with little bows in their hair. They hate me for a few hours until the good smells wear off and they are wallowing in their personal dog stink again. read more

Anyone out there looking for the single most passionate and knowledgable dog trainer go to JORDAN. We recently got a new puppy Named Ben and jordan has become his second mom. Not only has she been encouraging for him to learn different skills but has listened to our every ridiculous question as new dog owners . She is knowledgable and treats every single dog in her classes with love and care. She has gone above and beyond her duties as a dog trainer and reached out to us if we needed any additional help on her off days. She made herself available to us on weekends if we ever had a question . OKAY and if all of the above is not enough, when we took little Ben in for a grooming and a bathe and had to leave our puppy(child) there for three hours she sat with him while he received a bath to make sure he wasn't scared and THEN called me on my cell phone to let me know it all went well. And you are probably asking yourself... Is she a groomer and is that part of her job?... Answer: NOPE. She is just as caring and passionate as it gets. Our little Ben walked into puppy class on the first day absolutely terrified of everything (I'm talking scared of strong wind gusts, large bushes and every single person, dog, or bug in sight). By the end of the classes Ben was the most social dog in the class, trying to play with dogs 10 times his size. Thank you so much Jordan for all you do and all you give to this world!! Not a bad place to take the kids and look at the animals. The cages are clean and the animals are mostly healthy. We especially enjoy seeing the cats for adoption. Our biggest problem is the staff selling fish are not very educated. We've been fish enthusiast for many years and it bothers us when a young, apathetic teenage tries to tell us why a certain fish will or will not do well in a certain environment. read more

My boyfriend went to get us another Albino pleco and I don't understand why the employees who are assigned fish act so educated when your trying to get a fish. I get there is people who walk in there thinking you just throw a fish in a tank and call it a day but this was not the case. My bf is very nice but this women made him snap I have never seen him so anger and hateful. She is trying to say this pleco needed a 100 gallon tank when it needs a 30 and it's going on a 50! We have so many fish we take care of when we get one from here we feel like we are rescuing it cause 25 percent of their fish when we go are DEAD some there for weeks!!! This place is pretty good. I can get a lot of stuff here. The one problem is selection. They cram stuff for ALL pets into one store. Dogs, cats, hampsters, snakes. What gives? There's got to be lots more dog and cat owners than anyone else. Why don't we have a Dogsmart? I'd even settle for a Dogsandcatsmart. Also, Dog and Cat people are an entirely different group of people. I don't mean to be prejudice, but some of these snake people have more nose rings than my wife has ear rings. My dog is a spazz when it comes to being groomed and Rene is so patient and really takes her time to make sure my little baby is cleaned and cute as can be! I went into PetSmart looking for Frontline products and while checking out at the register, Ashlee the cashier, kindly asked if I knew about their price matching policy and their rewards program(I had no idea of either). She took the time to explain everything to me and sign me up and allow me to search for a comparison price in the product and saved me $30!!!! She is amazing!!! From the start of checking in she rude beyond belief it took 30 min just to check in. She looked like she could care less to be at work and had nothing but negative things to say about my dog. When I went to pick up my dog she tried to sell me dog training claiming he is way to anxious and aggressive. I bring my dog to the vet here and I've also gotten his nails trimmed here. My dog is an 8 lb terrier mix. They charge $15 for a "deluxe" nail trim. I don't know what's so deluxe about it, but that seems like a lot for a nail clipping. I do like the vet staff here though. As for products, there are some cute toys and clothes, but when I wanted a kennel and some other products, I found the selection lacking. read more

It's a big chain pet store. I came from Encinitas where there were smaller, local pet stores I preferred, and was disappointed there weren't any on this side of town. Nonetheless, although they don't carry the cat food I prefer, they do have some good choices and the selection is broader than other nearby pet stores. The staff is always very friendly and I appreciate that they do adoptions from local animal rescues every Saturday. I find it difficult to go on Saturdays and resist taking home a new pet! read more

I'd give it less. Bought a $30 Cat scratcher that didn't hold up after two months. I could understand if it gave out after a year but two months? I was denied a refund or a credit because I tried returning it after 2 months. The return policy is written in stone no matter what! I love the PetSmart on Highway 79. They carry George's favorite brand of food (Natural Balance L.I.D.). We take our little boy there for bathing and grooming all the time and are very happy with the groomers and their grooming skills. George is shy around strangers until he gets to know you, but he has never shied away from any off the groomers at PetSmart. I will continue to go to PetSmart for my pet food, supplies, and grooming. All good getting the doggies groomed. They were very busy but they got both our dogs done. They look and smell beautiful! Got the furminator service for our bigger, fluffier dog. So far it has made a big difference with shedding. I will repeat this service. He wasn't a big fan of the dremel for grinding his nails, so they clipped them instead and hopefully he'll warm up to that idea. Our min pin just got a regular bath and nails trimmed. I'm so annoyed by the experience I had today I had an appointment for my fur baby at 9:40am and I arrived on time sit in my car and call to let them know I was there sit on hold for over 7 mins so I just hang up tell my daughter I'm just going to walk in because this is crazy I know 7 mins dissent seem like a long time but I was in a time crunch because my water heater went out at my house and needed to get back home for the plumber so I'm waiting and as I'm waiting 2 other people come in and they take them in before me so now it's 10:05 and I go up to the receptionist and ask my appointment was at 9:40 right she then says yes but you were 10 mins late are you kidding me I was outside in my car on hold due to your protocol for covid and your going to tell me that I'm late so you just take people that had appointments after me because why? As the store over all is a nice store, my husband and I go there often. I learned something yesterday regarding the fish that disturbed me. While we were waiting to get a refund on the 5 fish we had to return because they passed within a few days of us bringing them home (1 survived and our water has been tested and it is fine) I noticed there was a tank there that had about 5 dead fish in it. When we alerted the associate's attention to it, we were informed that the way the fish are shipped to them (at the back of a truck) is too cold and that they are kept at 66 degrees instead of 70. The associate figured there will be more dead fish this weekend. I would hope if this were known, (and maybe someone has) to contact the company delivering the fish and either discuss this and create solution or find a different distributor who is going to take the wellbeing of these fish into consideration. These poor animals are in shock and then die - I guess I should be relieved they are only transporting fish to PetSmart, right?!?! I would buy your fish elsewhere until this issue is resolved. read more
