Came for the pictures for Santa's . First off all the employees who ran that area December 21 2019 after 330 were incredibly rude . A dog urinated right in front of me in line and they didn't even bother to clean it up ! They just wiped it down and I can still see pee on the floor. They all were very unhelpful and rude and for being a happy event they had no snacks for the pets or room for pictures like the other Petsmart in Chino that I went to today ! Im giving that location a five star review but this location does not represent the Petsmart name for your company you guys need to look into the employees ! And the Petsmart in chino gave me the picture frame option ! How come this location made me take my own pictures of it wasn't for your other location I woulda stopped shopping there !! read more

I take my dogs here to get their nails cut, but that's it. The old location on Azusa Ave was SO MUCH BETTER. There is a guy here named Chris Jackson who works in grooming, and if you love your fur baby like I love mine.. DO NOT let this man handle your pets. He does not care about animals, and he is very rough in handling them. I felt so sorry for the doggie he was grooming. :( He has a nasty attitude in general, even in dealing with people. He is condescending when talking to the other employees. I feel bad for his co-workers. The other women I have dealt with and spoken to over the phone seem very sweet though, so you should be fine as long as you avoid Chris Jackson. read more

The nice manager that rang me up offered to carry out my stuff to my car today, And I told them he doesn't have to but he offered because I was parked far out in the parking lot. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOGS HERE a flea jumped on my chihuahua puppies coat and I know it was from Petsmart because he is the cleanest dog and I have talked with some employees about their store having a flea infestation at this location just a week before this happened to my dog. I was walking my dog around the aisles and noticed something popped onto him - didn't pay attention until we were in the car and was petting him. This gigantic adult flea was crawling all over my baby's coat and I had to run to Petco to buy a flea comb to take the bastard out. My dog was clean again after that. That was very inconvenient though and had to spend money because a store can't keep their aisles clean. read more

This review is for the grooming and banfield only...you need to read the banfield review. I would give the grooming salon 4 stars I've been bringing my dog since she was a puppy and she's now three years old. I've gone to different places that cost a little bit less but the quality of service and grooming is significantly better at Petsmart. My usual groomer is Kevin and I absolutely love him and always request him no matter what. There's been times when I've requested kevin and the person I was speaking to forgot to book me with him and if that happens again I will reschedule to make sure he takes care of my dog because he is so fantastic. Kevin knows my dog by name, he always asks about her and called me to see if she was okay when he hadn't seen her for a while (I know that's probably routine, but he stayed on the phone with me for a while when I was explaining to him her surgeries and stuff, it was really appreciated). I feel like he gives her the best haircuts and whenever I have a different groomer my dog ALWAYS leaves a bunch of tiny cut hairs in my car on our way home...except when Kevin does her haircut. I'm pretty sure I mentioned this to him one time and he's always remembered to remove the excess hair after her cut. I love that he pays attention to the little details because it shows that he really cares. I would give this salon five stars if all the groomers were like Kevin and if he ever decides to leave he better tell me so that I can follow him to his new salon! _________________________________________ I will give banfield no stars When I got my puppy she was five months old and I bought a puppy starter kit which included a free consultation for banfield. Once I was there I was convinced to buy the insurance package that included spay surgery, shots, and free visits. Her spay was fine, her shots were good, but when I brought her in to have her mouth checked out because of her foul smelling breath they told me she was fine. I brought her in about her breath a couple of times and they just smelled it and said it was normal. I've grown up with dogs my entire life and I knew this was not normal. The first couple of times it was just the nurse that diagnosed her fine regarding her breath, then I started demanding that the vet check her out and he said she was fine also. So I decided to trust them and accept that my dog had really bad breath. Fast forward almost three years later, I no longer go to banfield and I take her to TLC Animal Hospital in Baldwin Park. Out of nowhere my dog became very lethargic, she wouldn't eat or drink, and she kept having terrible sneeze attacks. I decided to take her to the vet and the vet checked her teeth and found that she had two broken teeth and one was partially broken off with bits of exposed nerve which should be very painful. He asked me if she played with metal rods or if she was an outdoor dog and I told him no, she's an indoor dog and she has plush toys and ropes to play with. The vet continued to ask me questions and he concluded that this injury happened when she was a puppy and her previous owners probably had her playing with metal rods or she bit into one, causing the broken teeth and the reason why her breath smelled so bad was the build up of bacteria that has been accumulating in her mouth and has now gotten into her bloodstream after three years. I was so devastated that my poor pup has been living in this much pain her entire life while in my care and I had no clue until she almost died from the bacteria in her bloodstream. I very much blame banfield for their laziness and neglect. I bought their "best" insurance plan only to have them not give a crap about my poor puppy and treat her like she's disposable. How dare they say that they "aim to be your partner in your pet's long-term health and happiness" when they also disregard owners concerns and not do any valid tests to make sure that the animals are in actual good health. Not once did they offer blood work or even open her mouth to check out her teeth. read more

Petsmart GROOMING I had taken my dog previously to the Petsmart Grooming on North Azusa for the puppy package. There they did an amazing shop. He came back looking super cute with his face and paws sculpted. So then I decided to take my maltipoo a 2nd time at Petsmart at the Eastland shopping center because it was closer for me. I had a good experience the previous time. My maltipoo's hair was already about 4 inches and getting difficult to maintain so I asked for 1/2 of his hair to be cut. So that should have left him with 2 inches of hair. I paid $45 to come back and find that they shaved his entire body. You know it's bad when your dog looks like another dog. The groomer left about maybe an inch of hair. I said "Hey it's kinda shorter than we agreed" and she said "No it's half of his original hair." BS his hair was super short, he looked like a different dog. I had a horrible experience. The groomer was nice but did a horrible job. His feet weren't even nicely sculpted and they left his tail hair long. I even found a chunk of hair around his neck that wasn't cut. I feel so bad for my dog because he looks so different. Never again going back to that store for grooming. read more

We were passing through the area and needed to get some food and treats for our chow hounds. Although the store looks large from the outside, it feels smaller inside. The grooming section is right at the front of the store which makes for a nice feature for customers to take a peak at what's going on, but not sure if the doggies mind having their privacy invaded. Anyway, the staff is very helpful. Since this was my first time at this location, I didn't know where to find the Zukes, and an associate quickly came to my aid. This review is about the contamination of dog food! Also a rude MANAGER! I went to go buy dog food Purina One, my husband picked up a bag off the shelf and a moth flew off the bag. I didnt think anything of it until i got too the register. I paid then noticed the dog food bag had moths and larvae on it. I decided not to purchase the bag of food. I asked for a refund, the manager was called to the register she seemed very annoyed she didn't apologize or give any eye contact she just jammed her overide key into the register with no concern about the contaminated of the dog food nor did she seemed concerned about the moth infestation in her store. or the many bags of food that could be infested with moths and larvea. I brought my dog here to get groomed twice, both times they said he was out of control. The last time they said he was so scared of the dryer that he pooped all over himself they gave him another bath and sent him home soaked. I had taken him baths on my own previously and used a blow dryer on him - he had whined a bit but wasn't at all out of control just whimpering so I assumed maybe it was just because he was more comfortable with me. After about 2 months I took him to a different groomer and they said he did perfect outside of whining, had taken multiple pictures for me to see and when I called for updates they said he was scared of the dryer but not more than most dogs and it wasn't bad enough to the point they couldn't get the job done. I myself now work in a grooming salon temporarily and all I can think is what they we're actually doing to my baby to make him so scared, seems as tho their lack of patience causes dog's trauma. I had tried to take him in with me to pick up food at the store shortly after and he was so terrified I couldn't even get him past a certain point in the parking lot - he doesn't even have that reaction when he goes to the vet. I honestly only see petsmart grooming as the problem seeing as tho it was not his first time being groomed and his reactions to the sight of the store following his experiences, not to mention the fact he was fine at another grooming salon. read more

This Pet smart called me to cancel my dogs appt because they will no longer be able to groom her. That she's too big and it hurts their back. She's a St.Bernard and has been going w them for a few years now. They said she's no longer welcomed. I can understand if she was an aggressive dog. But she's not! If she sits during grooming then give her time. But don't say She's not welcomed and it hurts your back. Very rude and unprofessional. Petsmart should be able to provide services for all dogs. I'm so glad that we found petsmart in West Covina that is willing to take her. City of Industry will never get my money. read more

I love PetSmart. :) The employees instantly greet you when you come in and ask right away if you need help with anything. And when you do know what you're looking for, it makes the trip a lot quicker, especially with PetSmart being a pretty big store. They usually know what they're talking about when you ask about a certain product. I haven't come across a staff member that wasn't able to answer my questions. They usually have good sales going on with their dog clothing and food. Because of that, I usually end up coming out of the store with more than I expected. But that's okay, because I love my babyboy and babygirl, and I don't mind spoiling the $h!# out of them! :) Other than the sales, a lot of their merchandise is decently priced. The Martha Stewart line always gets me! PetSmart also offers shots, behavioral training, grooming, etc. Although Petco is a little closer to my house, I would rather make the drive here, where you can tell people actually care about your pets. :) TIP: Sign up for their rewards card and you'll save some $$$. :) read more

This PetSmart is very convenient for us since it is just a couple of miles from where we live. We buy our dog food(Wellness) and treats there. The veterinarian is very helpful. The staff in the vet's office are nice and friendly. We have a Labrador puppy and are in the middle of the 6 week Puppy Training. James, the trainer, is very patient and knowledgeable with dogs. He also spends the time and shares tips on how to handle our dog's hyper behavior. Couldn't ask for a better trainer than him. When we first got our puppy, he was out of control and hysterical. I could see the improvement having gone to the puppy classes and can't wait how our puppy will be after the completion of the Puppy Training. I just wish there was a Doggie Day Camp and Hotel in the store so we can have our dog spend the day there when we are at work. Not having a Doggie Day Camp is the reason why I am not giving a rating of 5 stars. read more

I took my puppy in for grooming today for the first time and needless to say, they did a good job with grooming! I booked with Evelinda and she was very nice and attentive of the skin issues my dog had. The other groomers here were very friendly with the pets too, so I definitely knew my dog was in good hands. As for the store, it's alright. I've gone multiple times trying to find a certain dog toy or shampoo, but they never have it. Bummer :( Nonetheless, I still go to this PetSmart for all my dog needs. read more

I have a 5 month old yorkie named Denim. I took him to this location three times to be groomed by Marcos. On his first visit very little was done because I was told that he was very wiggly on the table. Because he's a puppy they were willing to "work with him". By the third visit VERY LITTLE WAS DONE, my puppy was very anxious and Marcos told me that he needed an calming aid. I was in tears because I felt as if my puppy had an behavioral problem. I did buy the medicine that was recommended but I just couldn't imagine myself medicating my baby to make their job easier. I told my wife after the first visit that something seemed off and I wasn't feeling this location. But Marco assured me that Denim would continue to misbehave and it could lead to other groomers and locations not wanting to work with him. I followed my heart and took my puppy to the PetSmart in West Covina on Azusa. Denim INSTANTLY bonded with ALL of the groomers! He finally got a puppy trim. Yes he did move because he's not a stuffed animal. He smelled great, looked even better and was in the BEST SPIRIT when he got picked up. So before trying calming aids, try a different groomer. Denim showed me that he wasn't comfortable with Marcos and he will NEVER return to this location. Wish I could give Marcos a negative 5 stars read more

This review is mostly a flection of the constant pleasant service I get from Diana (manager). I have had issues for years at the Petsmart in city of industry mostly for their manager there (Kevin) who refuses to accept opened food or a coupon accommodation, from any customers. This is absolutely not a part of their printed written policy (with a receipt) therefore is arbitrary and unprofessional. Diana's understanding of customers in need strengthens the relationship of trust which I now have with Petsmart. This has been my go-to pet store ever since I adopted my cat a year ago. Product stock is always consistent, and I never have any difficulty finding what I need here. I like that they have a range of niche items whether it is cat toothpaste, travel items (car hammock, airline-approved pet carriers), calming spray, cat grass, etc. they have it all. This store also provides grooming services, but not boarding. I was informed that grooming (without bathing) for my domestic longhair cat would be around $40, which is so expensive considering it's just a haircut. The loyalty rewards are quite hard to come by, regardless of shopping here every week. Those points are so hard to accumulate! In my experience, returns of food and litter items (even though they are unopened and unused) will be donated. The staff are friendly but take forever to get back to you; it also takes ages to find an available staff member who can actually help you look for something. It seems like they are pretty understaffed, even during regular conditions (prior to the pandemic). There is a sanitizing wipes and hand-washing station in the store. I always love saying hello to the cats up for adoption when I stop by - they are so cute and well behaved. read more

I love coming here to get me some Beta Fish. One of the guys in there (i forgot his name) but i was looking at the Betas and he came up to me and told me what they need and all that, then he took me to the reptiles and told me stuff about every single one, like the snakes, and lizards. He is very knowlegeable with all the animals in the store. but boy when he told me about the goldfish.... that took forever!....lol read more

I like going here. It's my one time stop shop for anything PETS. I've got 3 dogs, 3 birds, and two reptiles which I used this specific Petsmart to get all my equipment and food for my pets. I never had any problems here other than I had to drive a bit because this was my closest Petsmart. Other than that, I've used their grooming and also the Banfield Hospital inside is where I would go to have my puppies seen and get checked out for the better of their health. The store is quite big and organized on a daily. I love just stopping by just to walk around and see what little things I can grab. Employees always greet you once you walk in and say bye when you leave. This place never seems to disappoint. Will continue to do business with them just as long as their open. read more

I made an appointment for my dog online for 5pm that same day. At 4:00 i received a call from the store saying that i needed to be there by 4:30 or i would have to reschedule my appointment. I rushed over to the store we we wouldn't have to reschedule. When i got there they asked me for a copy of her rabies vaccination. I told them i didn't bring it with me. The guys says "oh sorry then we can't see her". If they wanted me to bring information with me, why didnt they tell me when they called to move my appointment?! BIG WASTE OF TIME! I love this Petsmart location! I went there today to buy superworms for my beardie and brought my dog along for the ride. The employees are really nice! The groomer stopped by and took a look at my dog an complemented him and offered to give him a nail trim. Which was so nice and I really appreciated that. I wasn't able to though because I didn't have his rabies shot form with me but it was much appreciated. I did have one small thing that kinda disappointed me today. It was one employee in particular. Not sure his name but I asked for superworms and he gladly gave me the 50 count I asked for an that's it. So I go to the register and the nice lady there told me that I was supposed to get 12 free crickets and if the person who helped me let me know this. I told her he didn't and she told me to go tell him to give me my crickets. Now I'm not sure if he just forgot (which I'm hoping) or if he just was hoping I wouldn't notice so I wouldn't get it because there free, but anyway I got my free crickets and left. All in all it's a good location and I enjoy going. Though I do advise customers to do research on sales and coupons just to be sure your getting the most from your petsmart purchases. read more

I went to go buy some fish and asked for help and they told me to wait and I waited for 15 min and no one came to assist me with buying fish then I ran into a employee and asked for help but instead she asked for my age and ran off. When she returned she told me that the polices says I had to be 18 years or older to purchase a fish or have a parent or guardian buy it for me. There is no sign saying I am required to be 18 or older to buy fish at petsmart. I've been at plenty of PetSmart without anyone asking me for my age to purchase a fish or decorations. read more

Well apparently because he's part pug they refused to honor his appointment because I needed to make an express appointment. Wtf is an express appointment?! Makes no sense and when you book online there is no option to put in a mixed breed. So asked if they could cut his nails. He barked at the groomer and she said oh I can't cut his nails! Last weekend we got our doggy from Inland Valley Humane Society - great experience by the way. LVHS uses Iams so we bought Iams from Covina's Pet Smart thinking it would be better to stick with a food he had been eating for 3+ weeks. He ate one bowl of it. The vet, (whose exam was free like anything found wrong with the dog for 14 days after adoption), said maybe when we were done with the (free) antibiotics were done, the dog's appetite would return. This pup does not like IAMS. We took the dog food back to PetSmart. John said "I'm sorry your dog isn't eating, but we take back dog food". He made some recommendations and we went to the dog food aisle. John came and found us with a big 'ol coupon book! He told us since the dog was from adopted from the pound, Pet Smart steps up with some good stuff. We got a free bag of dog food, there's a free grooming in there, try out the pet hotel, free...I could go on but it makes me sound crass. It's joke to suggest that getting a dog saves you money. I simply want to offer my kudos to Pet Smart for all they do for "pre-homed" animals. They collect blankets and other needed items, they donate new stuff and have events like the Valentine's Photo thingy in February to raise money for homeless animal charities. Bring in your paperwork from the pet adoption though. John knew we adopted from the Humane Society because he knew they used IAMS. What a guy, we ended up with the same food he feeds his dog (for free). read more

THIS REVIEW IS FOR BANFIELD LOCATED INSIDE PETSMART! On Friday I got home and realized my dogs head was swollen due to (what I think) and insect bite. I called Banfield hospital to see if I can have him evaluated since I didn't know what to do. I called at 6:30pm and spoke with Wendy and she stated that the hospital closes at 7pm and that 30 mins is not enough time to evaluate the dog. Normally, I would of understood the situation but when I'm paying $40+ dollars a month for their "services" you think they would be able to see me even if it was an emergency. Wendy made no effort to get me into see the vet. She was rude and not helpful. I want to get out of that contract that I have with them and thankfully my renewal is up in October. She did not seem to care if I wanted to cancel services and when I told her I wanted to cancel all she kept saying was "Okay, that's fine". That contract is such a waste of money and I cannot wait until my contract is up so I can take my business elsewhere where they don't treat customers with any respect. read more

I'm writing this review about the Grooming center only. I've been coming here to this Petsmart for 2 years now, faithfully. I rely on the dog food, snacks and toys for my little Lucy as well as her health maintenance, it's been great. The grooming has been good up until they posted an advertisement on grooming that you can save 25% for grooming Monday thru Friday after 5pm and walk in's welcome. I called before 5pm about 5 times one call per day to see if I can bring my dog in and each time they say :"We are not taking baths at this time or we are only bathing but not cutting hair plus we don't have any openings" and I say "ok but each time I've called you guys all say the same thing and your advertisement mentions you take walk in's and as a courtesy I call first, so it doesn't make sense to me, why you wouldn't take her in" and they say " well we only have 2 people here and only one bather" I say "well that's false advertisement then, why would you not schedule more groomers and bathers to accommodate what your advertisement says on your window," and they couldn't come up with a good answer, Pretty bad customer service and it's too bad, I think it's worth the drive to the Glendora store. They need to get it together. read more

I went here to buy a hamster. Waited for 10 minutes without any acknowledgment from the staff. Finally, I went up to the cashier to request assistance. She told me that she would page someone to meet with us, and waited ANOTHER 10 minutes without no one showing up. My fiance went up to the same cashier to request assistance. She finally called for help, but no one showed up for 20 minutes. Normally, on a busy day, I would completely let it go. However, since my fiance, myself and two other customers were the only ones in the store at the time, it's a bit ridiculous that we had to wait for almost an hour. Definitely won't return to this store. I'm willing to drive the extra distance to the Glendora location instead where it's a guarantee I'll always have some available to provide some kind of assistance whenever needed. read more
