I'm having mixed feeling about this post for positive reasons only. Today my case was successfully completed, my braces have been removed and the results are Amazing! While I'm elated my braces are finally off, I'm feeling so sad that I no longer will be seeing Dr. Phan and staff on a regular basis. That said, let me express my gratitude to Dr. Phan and staff as they have been so kind to me during my 3 years of treatment. There is no comparison to the quality of staff in any other offices I've personally been too. Front staff is always welcoming and caring, you are not viewed as a patient, they care about you and your family. Janet and Sandra have been here from day one of my case and my sons case, they are amazing as well as the other ladies in front. Dr. Phan had his work cut out but was confident with my outcome during our initial consultation before treatment began. This is why I selected him compared to the other four Orthodontist I seen for consults. My case was challenging, Dr. Phan provided his thoughts as he answered all my concerns, this was reassuring to hear! Joel has been my go-to since I required the strongest of wires, given I went to my appointments during my lunch hour, he was quick enough to get me out. Thank you Joel for always working on methods to close those stubborn spaces, I cant thank you enough. Thank you to the front staff for always being so kind and working me in when I have broken my chain link rubber bands or poking wires, I'm forever grateful! Dr Phan is hands down the best orthodontist San Jose. I went to a few orthodontists and got a few consultations and he and his practice stood out from all the others by a very wide margin. From the minute you meet him you can tell he is extremely knowledgeable and caring. I asked my dentist and even he told me that Dr Phan is very highly regarded in the dental community and treats the families of many of dentists in San Jose and San Francisco. So that made my decision very easy. My first appointment was a fun, no obligation consult and he explained my treatment and gave me all my options. I decided to get braces that day and I was so happy with the results that after just a few visits that I brought my husband in and he got braces from Dr Phan too! The staff are all great and always nice and friendly. They are a very good team and all know what they are doing so every appointment is quick and efficient. I notice although there are lots of patients everyone is really happy to come to their appointment and its such a fun atmosphere. They really love what they do and have lots of fun helping people. The technology and methods he uses are very state of the art and up to date. I did not see any of this when I went to my other consultations. I got braces even when I was pregnant and after just a one year in treatment both my husband and I have beautiful smiles as well as a new beautiful daughter! After doing a lot of research and recommendations, I came to Dr.Phan Orthodontics as my case was a bit different. I had a slight underbite and needed double jaw sugery. He and the staff planned everything accordingly with my oral surgeon and made everything a breeze. I also recently moved out of state with 6 months left until completion date. I continued coming to this office because with a staff genuinely nice and this bubbly, I wouldn't want to go anywhere else. I've always felt comfortable and can say they make everyone feel important. Joel & Janet in particular. Joel was always informative when working on my teeth and with care. He has a lot of knowledge in his field and can tell he loves his job and clients. Janet who worked front desk always answer/return my calls/emails no matter what questions or concerns I had. Living out of state and having a busy work schedule, I had a few last minute appointment change request and Janet gave that little extra effort to squeeze me in and make rescheduling as easy as 1,2, DONE! I started my braces treatment at Phan Orthodontics for 5+ years. I really like Dr. Phan. He is very knowledgeable, caring, and pretty cool. I feel very comfortable talking to Dr. Phan and asking him questions whenever I have any concerns. He attends to his patients at a personal level, and always shows concern for his patients' well being. His office staff are friendly, helpful, and kind, especially Joel. Every time I have a problem with my braces or retainers, I can always count on Joel to resolve whatever the problems were that caused the pain. Just today, I had a problem with my bottom retainer, and I told him. He checked and discovered that the wire was exposed, which caused me pain. Joel fixed it, and now I feel just wonderful. Their response time is very quick, and it is very easy to make appointments. I am so pleased and over joyed with the remarkable work Dr. Phan and his staff provided. My daughter was injured when she was 5 years old on playground equipment. She broke 7 baby teeth, and 4 where jammed and twisted. After her general dentist took care of removing the baby teeth & improving her oral health for approximately 4 years, her permanent teeth were extremely crooked, twisted, and growing in at awkward angles. Dr. Phan and his staff were kind, respectful of her condition and self consciousness, and extremely gentle. They were able to work with my budget to ensure my daughter received the care she needed. Her braces are now off, and she has a BEAUTIFUL smile. She is in high school and a drama buff, and she has gained the confidence in her dental appearance to grace the stage with her presence. My youngest son just finished his 14 month braces journey with Dr. Phan. His teeth were overcrowded and needed some space for his new teeth to come in. From start to finish, our experience at Surfside Dental was fantastic. The fun atmosphere in the office made it really easy to bring him in for his monthly appointments. The staff were all very professional and everything went as planned. My son is very proud to be wearing the retainers now and loves taking on the responsibility for making sure they're well cared for and worn frequently. I would recommend Dr. Phan and Surfside Kids Dental to anyone with kids who are a little intimidated or afraid of getting orthodontic work done. I brought my son here for a Phase 1 and Phase 2, and we are very happy with the results. Our over all experience with Dr Phan and his amazing staff was over and beyond 5 stars. Everyone in this office are genuinely nice and very accommodating. The office has a great vibe and energy. My son was always excited to go to his monthly check ups. I had braces a few years ago from another office and I was never seen every month, it was about 6-8 weeks. I wish that I had found this place before. When it comes to preparedness, this office came prepared when they first opened to see patients this week. My son is a patient of Dr Phan and we were very eager to see the Dr and the smiling, friendly staff of Phanorthodontics. Upon arrival to my son's check up appointment, they sanitized his hands and took his temperature. And inspite of many changes that they have done to protect the health of my family such as air filters everywhere, protective barriers at the front desk, protective uniforms and face shields, and many more...they are still respectful and loving to my son. Dr. Phan has been my daughter's orthodontist for about 2 years and my daughter and I are very happy. Every time my daughter needs to come in, everything is easy and quick. We usually don't have to wait more than 15 minutes and I've been able to schedule appointment as early as 2 days in advance with out much difficulty. All the staff is great! The ladies at the reception are very friendly and always greet us with a smile. The staff that works on my daughter's braces are great with her and know their stuff, that especially includes Dr. Phan. When most people think "orthodontist", they think about being 12 years old and 2 years of wires and rubber bands.. For me, that was age 18 and 2.5 years, as well as other dental procedures on top of that.. Which is why when my teeth started to shift (12 years later)-it bothered me. Dr. Phan suggested Invisalign to correct the shifted teeth, and his team immediately fit and ordered. I had a great experience at Phan Orthodontics in San Jose. The staff was friendly and attentive, providing excellent customer service. I particularly appreciated their timely scheduling, which made it convenient for me to plan my visits. The treatment process was well organized, and they created a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere during my appointments. The progress has been promising, and I'm happy with the results so far.
