We observed several crew members urinating in our yard and Tony made light of it so we had to address the workers ourselves to use a bathroom. There was also a miscalculation in the amount of concrete needed; while Tony completed the job at no extra charge using bagged concrete-which we appreciate-the situation could have been handled better from the outset given his level of experience, use a tape measure. Cleanup was a concern. The crew left behind concrete residue on surfaces like the driveway requiring several hours of my time to sweep and scrape. In summary, while the quality of the finished work is good improvements in professionalism, planning accuracy and post job cleanup would make a significant difference in the overall experience. Without these issues he's a solid 4.0/5.0 stars but we had the issues. I also overpaid $50 and my text hasn't been answered. The work was done in just a few short hours and he went above and beyond. Tony identified a drip line issue, a sprinkler head that should be moved to another spot, and a tree that needed to be trimmed. He did all three on his own at no charge! My lawn looks fantastic with an even spread. A few weeks later, one of the sprinkler heads snapped and he came by same day and replaced them no charge! I called and spoke with Randeep, who scheduled me within 2 days with an irrigation specialist. I had an appointment this past Wednesday for Danny to come by and take a look at the leak. Not only did Danny fix the leak, he replaced the valve completely with newer, more up to date parts as my home is 20+ years old. After addressing the original issue, he noticed that two of my sprinklers were not functioning and replaced them, even without me asking! Wow! He then recommended that I replace my sprinkler timer as well, since it was also an older/outdated model. I purchased a new timer, in which he took the time to walk me through step by step to make sure I understood how to use the timer and make necessary adjustments and also made sure to go through the schedule not once, but twice to ensure I was satisfied with the watering schedule and overall water flow. During the walkthrough, I noticed there was a huge leak coming from a drip line in my backyard that caused a puddle in my lawn. He explained that the leak in the drip line may have been caused my running it over with a lawnmower or by me accidentally hitting the line with a weed wacker. I asked Danny how much it would cost for him to fix the leak, and he said, "This is such an easy fix, I'm almost positive you can fix it on your own." He then recommended the parts I needed to fix the leak, and sure enough, I was able to fix it on my own! He made sure to keep in contact with me while I went to Home Depot to make sure I bought the right parts. Danny went above and beyond and provided exceptional service! He was patient, honest, kind, and very knowledgeable, which is a true reflection of the company. Nowadays, it's hard to find a trustworthy company that won't take advantage of you! When I decided to redo my backyard, I consulted with several contractors. I chose pavers because they have a better track record for longevity than concrete. When I got back the proposals, I appreciated that the one from Forever Green Cali reflected everything I had mentioned in our initial meeting and had the best price. It was clear that attention had been paid during the meeting. Once selected as the contractor, the work began pretty quickly, nailing down details, making selections, identifying the things to stay, etc. The demolition of the existing deck and cleanup of the weeds went fairly quickly. And there were a lot of weeds. The rest of the work of preparing the foundation and sand and then laying the pavers went very quickly as well. Their employees worked very hard and with precision. I had an existing orange tree that was remaining and I really liked the outline that was made around it, including the darker accent pavers. I wanted a tree on the other side of the yard and I had failed to emphasize where I wanted it. When I asked about making a change to pavers already laid out in order to adjust for the tree, Firas was quick to accommodate me, and his employee made the change in no time. This cut out mimics the cut out for the orange tree and really complements it. As a novice at this sort of thing, I appreciated the good suggestions Firas made throughout the process. He and his team were very easy to work with. Part of this process included using their landscape designer to design the planting beds that were around the perimeter. She really took into consideration the kinds of plants I liked and the color scheme that I wanted. After our trip to the nursery, she provided a schematic so that I could anticipate what it would look like and also serve as a guide for the planting of the yard. I absolutely love the result. It is precisely what I wanted. I love the patio that replaced the deck. The edge is trimmed in a darker bullnose paver that makes it visually clear that there is a step down and the lights under the step emphasize this transition. Having broken my arm in the yard five months ago, this is a safety feature that I really appreciate. My backyard is now a much safer place to be which was a primary incentive for this entire project. Did I mention that I love my backyard? It's now a calm and tranquil place to relax. I cannot recommend Forever Green Cali highly enough. Before receiving the quote, I sent multiple photos clearly showing the bushes, roots, and work area, and explained that I have fibromyalgia and spinal arthritis, which is why I needed help with the job. Unfortunately, the experience became extremely stressful and uncomfortable. After the work began, the owner repeatedly complained that he "didn't account for the roots" and tried to increase the price, even though everything had already been shown in the photos beforehand. During the job, my pavement was cracked and my irrigation system was damaged. No one warned me ahead of time that the irrigation could be affected or discussed any precautions before starting. When I brought up the damage, I was told there was basically "nothing they could do." The owner was aggressive, loud, and repeatedly threatened to stop the job and leave the work unfinished whenever concerns were raised. The constant arguing, pressure about money, and confrontational behavior made the entire situation feel very intimidating and unprofessional. The work was eventually completed after more discussion, but the overall experience was chaotic, stressful, and lacked professionalism and accountability. I strongly recommend getting every detail in writing beforehand, including scope of work, pricing, and responsibility for damages. NOTE: The owner called me then texted me. I had to block him. I did not contact you further or continue any argument. My review reflects my personal experience with the work performed, including the property damage and how the situation was handled. I would prefer no further phone calls and that all communication remain respectful and in writing only. This is inappropriate behavior and he's making heritage assumptions.
