The best thing at this shop is Nate's customer service. I'm changing my review to 1 star because they sold me an $80 used tire that I guess had a bad repair done in the past, but no one informed me of this. I hardly drive my car, yet I've been having issues with the tire and when I took it to a tire shop they said they couldn't do a repair on it because a new repair would make it worse, since there was already an old bad repair done on it. When I called Phan's to tell them about the tire issue and how they didn't tell me about the bad repair, the old man here answered the phone and cut me off in a rude voice saying "you break it you pay for it" and he cut me off mid-sentence and hung up on me. Very rude and I guess I was scammed. read more

Very friendly and professional service! I came here for a smog check and it took less than half an hour total. The guy who handled my car took good care with the car. He was very friendly and treated me with respect. We chatted for a bit, just enough to feel comfortable but not so much that it took up too much time (basically chatted while paperwork was printing and payment was processing). Other people who were there at the same time seemed happy with their service too. There are socially distanced chairs and everyone wears masks. They are open 9am-6pm 7 days a week, no appointment needed for a smog check. I showed up on Thursday around 3pm and didn't have to wait long. Gave them a call, said they were available so I just drove right in! Was greeted warmly, guided where to park the care, and the STAR Smog test/check was taken care of within 20 or so minutes. This was my first time, yet they treated me very well. Paid w/ debit, no issues! Test was $50 ish, Certificate for DMV (electronic send) was another $9 ish. Total less than $60 for my dmv smog check. Just registered my car and needed a car smog and found this place near my work. I was helped by Tri, he was super friendly and the service was QUICK and affordable and the information was sent directly to the DMV! Well if I knew smogging was this easy I wouldn't mind doing this more often! I noticed they also offer TIRE services too!! So definitely coming back for that too, when the time comes! Phan's smog station is a great place to go for quick smog or new tires. I recently took my sons truck by to get smogged. Highly recommended by my dad who lives around the corner, and with an great rating on Yelp I was definitely coming here. When I arrived I had two people ahead of me. He was just finishing up with one and there was another just heading in as I waited on deck. Overall I was waiting for about 20 min. Very quick, in and out without any hassle. There is a small waiting area right in the front of the garage with four seats and some magazines. In my 20 minute wait I watched as a Mercedes pulled in behind me to get four tires changed and was in and out even quicker than I was. The smog was $60 and the service was excellent. Called in during the holiday 4th of July and my tire was flat. I actually ordered my tire from Walmart and they couldn't do the installation till Tuesday. Very disrespectful towards female customers aka me. I am assuming it was the owner. Anyway, I needed to purchase a new tire. It was Sunday late afternoon, and most auto shops were already closed. I saw this was still open so I called to inquire more info because noob here..duh. Guy on the phone asked me what tire size I needed and I responded I don't really know but can I bring the car by and have you check it. This was a mistake on my part; I should have checked the tire size that is pretty much imprinted on the tire itself. Silly me. Well, the guy said yea and that they were closing in an hour. I assured him that I would be there way before their closing time as I lived 10 mins away. My father and I arrived at their shop. An old man, who seemed to be the owner, walked toward us. I told him I wanted to buy new tires. He checked the size on my tire, and walked towards the area that I am assuming where they keep old and new tires. He walks back out and asks my dad to come follow him. My dad, whose english skill is bare minimum, tells me to go. I am about to go--this is where he makes his sexist comment-- when that old man says "No no, you stay here. You girl. He come." uh. What did you just say?? Not only did you embarrassed me, but you just made another example of society's set divided views of males and females. Thank you. Your service is no longer needed. read more

My usual smog check station isn't open Saturdays anymore, so I did a Yelp search, and checked out Phan's. I needed to use a STAR station, and they are certified for that. When I arrived, another car was getting smogged, so I parked on the street in front of the shop. As I was getting out of my car, one of the mechanics came over and said "you're next", and handed me a form on a clipboard to fill out. Plenty of seating outside. Soon my car is driven inside the shop, and undergoes testing. Around twenty minutes go by, and I get the good news that it passed. Very competitive $59.95 price. They also sell and fix tires, and are open every day of the week. I highly recommend Phan's. read more
