Seeing as I am lucky enough to get nails in my tires atleast once every 1-2 months, I am really lucky to find this place. Pulling up, I notice there is one side for smog, and one side for tires. As soon as I pull into the tire side, I am greeted and taken care of immediately. He shows me the nail head sticking out of my tire, and then shows me the bubbles from the soap solution indicating my tire is leaking air. Another nice gentleman then comes out and plugs my tire for me. I barely had time to check into yelp and sit down and my tire was fixed already! They even handed me the nail that had gotten stuck in my tire. I have no idea where I picked that up from because it was HUGE!! I uploaded a pic for you all to see :) YAY!! This place is close to my office, Super fast and friendly service, and only $12, what a bargain!! I will be back here next time my tires need some TLC and for my next smog too. I hate CA smog... but, we have to get it done every other year, so here we go. I researched different locations since I wanted to run and get both of my cars smogged quickly without wasting my day waiting around. I've been driving past Phan's Smog Station for most of my life, and decided to make my way over here as soon as they opened on a Saturday. There was one other car infront of me, but as soon as the big Bolo looking asian dude (I believe his name is Actor) finished up the car, he pulled my car in and proceeded the smog. 15 minutes go by, fill out the receipt, pay $59, received the "PASS"print out and I was on my way. This business is exactly what it is... a smog shop. Bring your car, make sure you dont have any check engine lights or a brand new battery, drive up, smog your car, pay and you're on your way. EXACTLY what I was looking for! Ended up bringing my 2nd car right after... bang bang, DONE! Thanks Actor for your professionalism, efficiency, and for not wasting my saturday morning! I brought my car to PepBoys in Newark CA to get some tires replaced (I only needed two replaced and I brought my own set) and they couldn't take off my low profile tires, so I took my car to my favorite smog spot instead. Yup. They smog AND do tires. I called Phan's Smog Station to let them know I needed some tires replaced and they said they could do it. Boom. Bam. I arrived there and they were able to assist me right away. Although this place is a small business, they have been around for a while and experience trumps all. What took a technician at PepBoys almost 30 minutes to try and take off ONE tire only took the technician at Phan's Smog Station 5 minutes to do. Maybe less. I was in and out of that place in less than 15 minutes. I also believe technique is key to getting things done efficiently and the technicians at Phan's Smog Station definitely got it down. replaced my tires on 2 wheels at this place a month ago that cost $280. One my tire was flat today. I checked it and saw a damaged sidewall. I pumped it, then drove there and showed it to the owner. He said it is ok and I can use my car normally. I went home then checked it after three hours and I saw it was flat again. I tried to replace my spare wheel but nuts is very tight and is not able to loosen it. Maybe I have to be off a haft day to tow it tire shop to replace a new one. Amazing service. I needed to smog my car and I procrastinated up until the last minute. They were about to close but went ahead and smogged it anyways. They were quick and they got all the paperwork done. They don't have much seating but the wait is not long at all so it's no big deal. The reason I gave this review one star is because when I called to inquire about some used tires, the person who answered the phone only said "hello?" Usually when running a business you introduce your business so the caller knows he's calling the correct place. Then, you introduce your name so the caller knows who he is speaking to. After stating the tires that I needed to the first guy, he said he was going to check and then gave the phone to another person whom answered the phone just the same way the first guy did; no proper introduction. Anyway, the second guy told me they had one tire left in the size I wanted so I asked how much tread is left. This really tested their knowledge and professional response...his response was, "I don't know. Come here and you can check it out..." Obviously I'm not going to waste my time driving there to check it out if I could have that done for me by an employee there, which, he wasn't very good at doing assuming the response he had given me earlier. As much as I adore the good reviews from others, it sure fooled me. Maybe in the future if I'm out of resources, I will turn to this company as my last resort. read more

This place is a basic Star Certified smog station. It is located in the old part of Newark in a very old kinda beat up building. I have never had any issues with getting my cars smogged here, and the smog techs have always been okay. That accounts for my average three star rating. What else is there to say about a smog station? They don't offer any free beverages, great prices, or a nice waiting area. Their techs do their job. That is all that counts. read more

This place deserves like 10 stars!!! Seriously, they went above and beyond with their services! Besides the smog check, multiple things were wrong with my car: my cigarette lighter was broken, needed to check my tire pressure, and had no front license plate. They fixed it ALL. yay! 1st check mark! After a quick smog check session, the guy checked my tires and my tire pressure was all "even." 2nd check mark!! When I told him that I had gotten a ticket for not having my front license plate, he offered to install it for me. At this point, I am thinking..wow this place is great :) 3rd check mark!!! At first, the guy referred me to a different place to get my cigarette lighter fixed. After talking to him for a bit, he decided he would take a look at it and see what is wrong with it. It turns out that my fuse was out and they didn't have any extra ones there. He told me to come back with a fuse and he will install it for me. I wasn't really familiar with the area so gave him a blank stare when he was telling me the direction.
