I have nothing but good to say about Steve and Phantom Screens. He isn't kidding when he lists his hours of operation. He got back to me very quickly after requesting a quote on a Friday morning and then was at my house in person the next day -- Saturday. We didn't make up our mind on the service provider until Wednesday that next week (because that was the soonest the other service provider could get to our house to give us a quote). Called Steve on Wednesday to give him the good news, and he was there that Saturday installing our door (the other provider had a couple week lead time to install). Steve was friendly, professional, and quick. We love, love, LOVE our doors! We have true french, glass doors that open outward toward our patio. We can now have both doors wide open anytime we want! And nothing to block the view when the doors are closed (like if we had permanent screen doors in front of them), or open for that matter. The retraction works great, and the connector with the little switch that keeps the doors shut works perfectly (much better than the magnet option, imho). The product looks really, really nice. It's high quality. I should say that we tried to DIY with a product from Home Depot. Not HD's fault, but the product was absolutely AWFUL. Shoddy, cheap, and non-functioning. What a waste of time, effort, and money (that was refunded). I really encourage you to make the investment if you think this is what you want. Oh, and fwiw, the two estimates of Steve's and the other service provider were basically the same. read more

New house, so needed a new screen door. Steve did our installation after we bought The Phantom Retractable Screen Door thru Lowe's. He comes out to measure the door and orders the correct door size and color trim, so that your installation looks professional. After a week or so, the new screen door arrived, it only took him an hour or so to install the door. It blends in so well, you can hardly tell it is there if it is not extended for use. These screens are the best. We have had them on another house and will buy them again when we move. I love the low profile of the screen when it's retracted. I love how smooth it works. As compared to other screen doors, this is the best in value and price. I put four screen doors in my house. I am saving money because I am able to put more air into it in the early morning through the afternoon, thus the air conditioner is on less, saving money.
