I lived in Philly for 30 years before moving to Tulsa in 2013. If this place was actually in Philly, it would be an annual contender for Philadelphia Magazine's "Best in Philly" list. They do cheesesteaks right, including flying in the original Amoroso rolls weekly (the owner told me that, and it is the actual secret to a good cheesesteak or hoagie. Late night place to feed your face! Fun younger crowd after hours but open at other times. Great condiments for the sandwiches. Salad rocks as well. Fresh Marshals Tulsa brewed beer on tap. Used to be downtown, with a rae gae staff, some are still on board. You will love the atmosphere if young at heart, or just plain young. Lots of attractive party people in the scene. read more

I always order the tenders with fries and it is the most delicious chicken tenders I have ever tasted. It's a nice relief to come after work or school, the people are funny and nice. Stopped in for a late night bite to eat after a concert. We ordered chicken strips, buffalo wings and fries. Everything was delicious and served piping hot. Prices were reasonable & the restaurant was clean. Did not give 5 stars because drunken, belligerent guests were allowed to bring their antics into the restaurant. While I expect a rowdy crowd late night, they should not be allowed to disturb other patrons. I did not however, feel unsafe-- just terribly annoyed. This experience though, would not deter me from returning in the future. read more

Amazing food, great customer service, get you in and out. The food gives me a good glimpse of how the food in Philly actually taste and persuades me to make a visit to Philly. The seasoning on the fries is phenomenal and made like no others. The employees always give a warm welcome when I walk in and most remember me as a returning customer which is nice. If I'm not eating in then I'm out of there with my food in under 10 minutes. read more

My uncle took my family and I to Phat Philly's a few years back when we were looking at schools in Tulsa. This place is somewhat a hidden gem in the TU area/Downtown area. It's got a convenient location and even more convenient hours. The northeast gave me high expectations for my Philly Cheesesteak and I'd be lying if I said Phat Philly's didn't meet those expectations. Delicious sandwiches and a pretty swanky joint. If you are looking for an authentic steak sub in Tulsa look elsewhere. I ordered an 11" plain steak sub with onions (green peppers are not authentic). Lettuce and tomato and mayo were not on the menu. The steak? while seeming to be high quality tasted more like roast beef than steak and the fried onions were nearly non-existent. The roll while tasty was the skinniest sub roll I have ever seen. Definitely NOT worth the $11.00 price. The first of the 8 waffle fries in my order was delicious, salted with garlic salt. The rest were thick cut but very ordinary. For $2.00 I was expecting a somewhat larger order. Also got the chili-cheese tots, a local favorite, and these were pretty good and a decent value at $3.50 If you want authentic you would get fries with brown gravy which I have not found in anywhere in Tulsa. The best thing I can say about Phat Philly's is that it is open late on Friday and Saturday night. If you have a hankerin' for a cheesesteak at 2:30 A.M. and a lot of extra money in your pocket this is the place to go. I can think of many better places to spend $20 ($18 + tip) for a meal. For Philly Cheesesteaks I will stick with Steak Stuffers. Better prices and better subs. read more

I LOVE this place! I have been eating at Phat Philly's for about 6 years or more. When they were downtown I loved the bands out back and all the people who would gather. I worked at Phat Philly's for about a year or so and during this time I also visited Philadelphia. I HAD to try an authentic Philly cheesesteak sandwich!! However, I did not like the bread they use, it's much harder than here in at Phat Philly's. That was the only difference! Same grill, same toppings, same cooking utensils, and same cheez whiz! lol I like to order a Phat Chicken with both Whiz & Jack, DELICIOUS!!!! Try it next time you go!
