Cheeseburger and fries combo with a drink.

Holy Smokes!! Craving a good burger today and found this gem down the street from work!!! I don't like it -I LOVE IT!! Best, juiciest, not over cooked at all burger in Tulsa. I highly recommend the cheeseburger and fries and drink combo. Their fries are so hot and that is super important to me because I'm not a big fry person, but these are an exception!! Service is great. Super nice and friendly. It's clean and cool inside and they brought my burger to me at my booth.

The restaurant should be called Mo's Famous Burgers. The cheese burger combo meal is the favorite here. A quarter pound or better beef patty, cooked on the flat top long enough to get a little crispness going, covered with a slice of cheese, with fresh lettuce, chopped onion and pickle wrapped in a soft burger bun. Add a generous portion of crinkle cut fries, and a refillable serve yourself soft drink to make for a bargain priced at $11.90. The restaurant is a neighborhood favorite and the burgers are the main event. A perpetual daily special. Many other reviewers have a long relationship with the other special, the Country Fried Steak Sandwich. The little old guy that owns this restaurant is named Mohamad. He has a small efficient operation in the kitchen. You can watch him work behind the steamed-up plexiglass partition. Looks like a mad scientist with his face mask on, intensely focused on creating a new species He shows the beef patties no mercy. When they start to sizzle on the hot flat top grill, he pushes down on the burger press with all of his weight (which ain't much) driving the heat into the patty and ensuring that nice crisp finish. At the same time, he is watching the fryers closely as the raw potatoes evolve to a pleasant golden brown. Everything comes together as it has for thousands of times and a great meal is delivered to your table. Mohamad said the business was named Karl's when he bought it and it had changed owners a couple of times before that, but it has always been Karl's. He said it cost too much to get a new sign, so he just stuck with the name. Karl may have originally made the restaurant famous, but he is history. Mohamad has been keeping it famous. Let's call it "Mo's Famous Burgers" from now on.

    Mohammad doing his thing.

This place is a South Tulsa institution. My father took me here as a little boy in the 90's and now I take my young son. The menu hasn't changed much, and the customer service is as friendly as it was some 30 years ago with the same owner and staff. The hickory burger may be my favorite burger in town, rivaling burgers double the price. Highly recommend.

Chicken Fried Steak sandwich and fry. Reminds me of the ever loved and famous Braums version. Absolutely Delicious.

Always great and never had less than a great meal and experience here. Please try the Onion Rings! So sweet and freshly fried.

Decent food, made fresh. Nice customer service. I got the old fashioned burger and fries to go. The proportions were great for $10 but the fries needed salt badly. I guess the menu option for "seasoned fries" is how you get salt on your fries.

During that time I never ate one of their burgers but ate plenty of the Country Fried Steak Sandwich and the Philly sandwich.

We decided to eat in the parking lot as it's much safer than driving and eating. However, with the option of people watching that also was a deciding factor on why we should park and eat. There is a nice view of the city, skyline and interesting lights and various different people in the area. Would recommend the chicken sandwich combo, however, would probably recommend to request the mayonnaise on the side as it definitely was seeping out the bottom of the sandwich and the napkin was much needed. Disappointed they did not have french fries so we were not able to try them, but they substituted onion rings and the tater tots which both were good. Tater tots could've probably use some seasoning or salt however they were cooked perfect. The staff was polite and helpful. We can definitely see ourselves stopping here again.

Encroaching on a seemingly crowded market can be tough but somehow Howdy feels like an already-established diner. While many newer burger places attempt to overwhelm the consumer, Howdy Burger's approach seems to be keeping things simple and delivering what the people want while staying true to the "burger joint" identity. I've had Howdy Burger 2 or 3 times through the years. My first visit was likely in/at Mother Road Market but a more recent visit was on October 29th (2025). In the midst of an economic stall (the federal government was shut down for 4 weeks at that point), eating out seemed like a luxury. I visited around 2pm for lunch. The weather was chilly and the staff was readily available. I was greeted and I browsed the menu for about 2mins before ordering. I ended up getting a single burger & rodeo fries. Afterwards, me & the lady cashier had a brief conversation about the state of the world as business was slower than usual. The restaurant isn't huge but it was well maintained. I sat near the West windows and the food came out shortly after. The highlight of the food was easily the burger itself. It was a decent size, the bread was soft, and the patty was just thick enough. Each bite was equally satisfying as they didn't hold back on the toppings. I will say that the fries are pretty standard, even with the extra toppings. I don't think the Rodeo Fries are worth wild but it didn't hurt to try. Lastly, I LOVE the variety of sauces they offer and the staff are happy to add them directly onto the sandwich or place them on the side. I've since returned to have the Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was just as good, if not better, than most famed chicken sandwich spots. I wasn't familiar with Howdy for a while and, as mentioned, there are many other places to get a cheeseburger, sandwich and/or fries. But what I like about Howdy is that they don't try too hard, they know what sells and they offer great service. Considering the price, consistency in their products and good people behind the counter, Howdy Burger is good enough to replace your favorite burger chain and/or fast food spot.

I usually order my food to go, but on one visit I arrived early and spent some time inside. The front area has a small waiting space with decor that gives a bit of history and personality to the place. They also offer beef for purchase, which is a nice touch if you are someone who enjoys cooking at home. I sat at the bar while I waited, and the service matched what I have come to expect from them. Friendly, attentive, and easygoing. The bartender even helped create a drink based on the flavor profile I described. It had a light citrus note with tequila and was very well balanced. As for the food, the onion burger is my favorite. I always add lettuce and tomato, and their burger sauce brings everything together. The flavors are rich without being overwhelming, and the quality of the beef stands out. The fries deserve their own mention. The regular fries are crispy and well done, and the sweet potato fries are just as good, which makes it hard to choose between the two. I usually get the garlic aioli on the side, and it takes everything up another level. The atmosphere is slightly elevated compared to a typical burger spot, especially in the bar area, but still relaxed enough to feel comfortable. It is a place I will keep coming back to whenever I want a burger that feels worth it.

I think it is named after a local ranch so sorry if I butchered it. I asked what was on it... all I heard was grilled onions, jalapeños, and some sauce and I was all in!! The burger came on toast and is very similar to a patty melt if you like that style. Honestly it was a great burger. The wife and I shared some cheese and onion fries... I can't say enough about how delicious it was. My wife ended up getting the class burger which comes with cheese sauce to dip fries or your burger in....i wanted the cheese sauce on everything but I did my best to hold back. The smash burger was right on the money. Delicious pickles and a house sauce and thin patties with crisp edges , proper smash! I also got their salad and that was GREAT!
