I'm a single mom who has suffered from hair loss starting from the age of 13 and I have invested money in PRP injections and maintaining the integrity of my hair but even with that there was some thinning at the crown. For my birthday I wanted to get my hair done (I saved for this) and feel great below the pictures of the style that I have requested and she said it was doable. Discussed her experience and that I was a good candidate for mesh integration. I proceeded with the install which she did not show me, but I thought in my head she wanted to do a reveal so I went with it. It was my birthday and was excited about having a hair style without the exposed thinning crown. midway through she showed me and I saw the exposed hairline on the scalp. She said not to worry because the hair would cover it and she turned me back around and continue with the install as she was cutting the hair I mentioned there's a lot of hair being cut off and nothing. When she finished installing the hair and cutting it and showed me what it look like. my words exactly where that looks funny and she got offended and her energy had shifted at that point I said well I wait till it's fully styled but made a reference to looking like Stuart from Saturday Night Live and she got offended started cutting even more hair and put product in my hair and when she did that, it still looked short (and nothing like the cut I requested) , but I had to leave urgently - I was there from 9 AM to just after 4 PM. Right before I left she had offered to add additional.Wefts so that i could have longer pieces if I was interested which the next day I took her up on the offer. I went back she installed longer wefts. I was happier with longer wefts and left not 100% satisfied, but it looked better than the first appointment. She added the longer wefts on Saturday and come Sunday. I went to bed woke up in the middle of the night in pain. My scalp was tender, and I couldn't sleep. I tried to bear with it thinking maybe I just have to get used to it, but throughout the day, I couldn't focus because my scalp was irritated and tender. Upon lifting the hair I could see the redness and irritation all along where the beads were at, so I sent her a message to advise and of course receive pushback ultimately two days after and I paid over $1000 to have a hair installed for my birthday, I had to have the wefts and beads removed and visited a dermatologist that advised me that was traction alopecia. The natural hair I do have left the cut is uneven. There's a lot of breakage and it will take me years to regrow my hair to a decent length and the hundreds of dollars I spent on PRP injections and caring for my scalp has now gone out the window and I'm embarrassed to be out. I can't have a wig installed as now I have to seek medical treatment (now several hundred more dollars) to rebuild what was destroyed in less than a week. I asked for a refund and she offered to provide me with $360 but offered me that at 8 PM and told me that that offer expired at 8 AM the next morning which of course I did not see until after 8 AM and by the time, I saw the message typed up a response and sent it before noon she never responded back because it was after 8 AM which her timeline was outside of business hours. but respectfully, a haircut and style I didn't even get was priced on her website at $775 and after reviewing all the charges, I pay more than that which means she didn't apply my deposit to that so the hair cost me over 1000. To avoid providing a refund and being accountable, she claimed that I agree to the hairstyle that I got, which is not true and when you look at the picture that I provided and what I got, it is vastly different. Just don't understand how someone could charge more than what's published on their website, not give the person the haircut they want destroy their hair that I walked in with and then not even offered to even provide me a wig to wear to support the regrowth. Instead, I get accused of annihilating and destroying my own hair, which is absurd to say to someone who's already invested thousands of dollars in their hair prior to their appointment and several hundred after. I'm active duty military, this is a great find. She opens early, is quick and surprisingly efficient given the limitations of a small space and no assistant, and has a great eye for style. Often I'm a difficult person to please but I have to hand it to her, she did a good job on my hair. I don't get my hair done frequently so I don't know what is on the high or reasonable end of pricing, as I usually just get a wash (if at all), simple bob cut with light layers, and flat iron or curly style. My hair is usually cut to about or just above shoulder length. I guess if I can find a way to get my hair cut for cheaper I'd be ecstatic about the pricing, but that's a problem I notice no matter where I go. I would come back. My experience on Monday afternoon was excellent per usual! Tanesha has been my hair care specialist for the last two or three years. This visit I was the only customer in the salon during my appointment because Tanesha takes COVID safety precautions seriously. My hair is unrelaxed and kinda thick. She took her time and did not rake through my scalp or over heat my hair with the blow dryer. I received an exfoliating scalp treatment, a deep conditioning and a trim. My scalp feels amazing and my hair feels moisturized but not greasy. She maintains the length with my trim while making sure that my Afro maintains a consistent shape. Don't want to get long winded but apparently I've been blocked on IG unbeknownst to me for no apparent reason or for a an alleged "no show" so I decided to share my feelings w you guys. Please don't copy and paste this in attempts to slander me. And I don't want to turn this into an argument so this will be my final comment. Your time is valuable so I assume we won't be combatting on Yelp. Found Ms Hines on IG looking for ppl who do micro links. She also has other specialties where she deals w "hair loss" Clients. Had little interaction w her but Immediately I thought she was cool and funny. I got a good vibe from her. Her work is really good. However I think she needs a little more patience. Especially referring to herself as the "Hair Dr" dealing w Clients who have Alopecia and different blood disorders. You never know how you make a person feel if you're not considerate of other ppls feelings. But I was supposed to do a "free 15 minute virtual consultation" w her on a particular day and time through Zoom. At the time of the consultation I immediately contacted her Via email and on IG Messenger (even sent her screenshots proving my problem) to inform her I couldn't download zoom. It was giving me problems on my phone. There's was no reason to lie, it was a hair consultation NOT an interview for a job so it wasn't like I was gonna be fired. If I didn't want to do it I wouldn't have said anything at all. But she immediately responded and we wound up interacting AND chatting through IG messenger but the whole time she was uncaring saying I was basically a "no show" and that her time was valuable and I wouldn't be allowed to reschedule. She was very upset and I offered multiple times to pay her for the inconvenience but now I'm thinking to myself she was kind of rude to me. Now mind you the entire 15 minutes we went bk n Forth about "Zoom" malfunctions. She still considered this a "no show" as far, as I'm concerned the consultation was conducted... Via IG messenger. Now we didn't get to the meat and potatoes of my hair bc her Professional side decided to matter of fact me about her valuable time and how I was a "no show" Her attitude was very cold towards me. I explained that it was my first time doing zoom anything. She was semi-apologetic but if she really was about her paper she would have turned that IG messenger conversation into the consultation. Instead she wanted to make me feel bad for allegedly "not showing." A no show is when you don't show at all. Again we chatted the whole 15 mins on IG messenger. Her work is amazing but she has zero patience. It probably wasn't a good fit for her and I or this wouldn't have happened. I appreciate the opportunity but again she needs alot more patience. All she kept saying is she was "transitioning" Perhaps so that we could have patience w her? I know the irony. As I understood her clearly about the transition and again multiple times offered to pay her for those free 15 minutes but she declined. Even told her I had Zelle. I would have sent her a payment. Still declined. Maybe Ms Hines needs a little help if she feels she's that big. Stylist whose time is that precious typically hire staff to assist them bc they cannot do everything themselves. Or how about transition first then start taking consultations and new clients bc some cannot do things simultaneously. She asked that we be patient w her when she was setting up the consultations bc one platform wouldn't allow her to set up the consultations so she moved on to another platform which was Zoom but she has zero patience for the client. Again idc what she says the consultation was conducted via IG messenger as far as I'm concerned. God forbid I would have had an in person consultation coming from out of town and my plane arrived late. She would have cancelled the entire thing. Not going to discredit her work but my Customer Service experience was humiliating. Inconsiderate and impatient. Do better Ms. Hines. read more

I decided to get my permed hair cut out and wanted it cut into a short hair style. So before committing I showed her the style I wanted. She told me she was capable of doing it, so I was confident in her abilities and got it done the next day. I was appalled at the way she cut my hair. It looked nothing like the pics I brought. My mom spent $155 and gave her a dozen donuts for the worst haircut I have ever seen. I ended up having to go to another hair salon to get it fixed. I found Tanesha in the summer of 2015. I was searching for a new primary stylist to have the following: close to home, extensive/years of experience, cares about healthy hair, a great eye for styling hair, and last but not least, excellent time management. For a while, I was wearing simple braid styles and Havana twist, and Tanesha was able to do those styles for me. Earlier this month I finally decided to have a weave installed. This is my first weave with someone other than the stylist I had been seeing for numerous years. Tanesha was totally on queue.
