Eric must've been having an asshole day! I was eager to proceed with this company's services. After reaching out to schedule service via the provided number, 1 (847) 852-6001, I was assured that I would receive a call back by 2 p.m. I even took the initiative to text a copy of the contract for reference. However, I was left waiting until approximately 5 p.m. the following day to hear back, long past the promised time. Disappointed by the delay and lack of communication, I decided to engage another company, RGP Tree Service (https://www.chicagotreeremovalcompany.com), who promptly completed the job. Unfortunately, when I informed the individual, I had initially spoken with about my decision, his response was, "Why did I waste his damn time?!". He then abruptly ending the call. Despite my attempts to reach out afterward, I was met with his voicemail. Left with no alternative, I left a message expressing my disappointment at his unprofessional conduct. His subsequent text instructing me to stop calling only added to my disappointment. Rather than addressing the issue at hand, it only served to further highlight the lack of professionalism displayed throughout this interaction. In response, I matched his energy in my response text. This company was hired by my HOA and did a complete butcher job on our tree, taking off some of the limbs that needed to be trimmed, but also leaving scraggly branches that should have come down. They also completely trampled through our plants, destroying many of them. A hydrangea that was in flower is now completely gone. They left sawdust all over everything, including tons in our a/c unit and dislodged paving stones. read more

We just had our trees serviced today and received Phenomenal service! From the phone call to the office and them telling the window of time to expect Eric to arrive and the number that would show up on my phone when he was calling. He called and arrived within the time he said, provided the estimate and provided the service the very next day. We had scheduled another tree service company to come that day and they never showed and it turned out positive for us that they didn't. Team arrived early, surveyed what need to be done , started at 8 AM and the job was completed by 1:30 and our yard was cleaner then when they came and they picked up what went into our neighbors yard also. I called the owner, he immediately came out to do the quote, was professional and talked through what needed to be done on a large hackberry tree providing too much shade and just too overgrown in my city yard. I wanted it paired back and cleaned up. He gave me a very fair price, the crew came the next day, the work is complete. This company destroyed the two main trees on my property, single handedly decreasing the value of my home. The curb appeal and general appearance of my house has been ruined because the trees that I asked be 'lightly cleaned' were comprehensively overhauled. After meeting with Eric for an initial quote and seemingly being in the same page for what we agreed the job would entail - he took a full page of notes and the appointment lasted nearly 20 minutes - his team ignored everything. I tried to express my displeasure but was met with nothing but hostility and disrespect as I was told I "didn't know what I was talking about" and the trees are "better this way". Point of the matter is: they did not do the job that I agreed to pay for. I was treated poorly by the on-site team and Eric who went from pleasant to work with to utterly disrespectful. They even tried to up charge me on the work because it was "more than what was agreed to" - the f*cking nerve of this company. Well I guess I hit a nerve and they took my review from this morning down. I witnessed two men doing a woodchip delivery and they had issues getting in the space first of all. Then after getting the box up and offloading the chips they started to drive away and almost tore down the power lines when they still had their truck box up. When they realized what was going on they tried all sorts of methods for 30 minutes to get the lines out of the way including hooking a rope up and trying to pull the lines out of the way. When that finally worked they left the rope up over the lines and just drove off. Also they snapped a few cable and internet lines and when they realized what they did they just threw those lines over the fence and drove away hoping no one would notice. Guess what everyone notices all nowadays. Since then I received a call from the company asking what I left a bad review hours ago when I was not the customer? Who cares if I am not the customer? If I witness bad customer service and destruction I am supposed to ignore it and let it go? Nope that is not how life works. If i could leave zero stars I would. read more

I contacted PTS to trim down a weed tree in my backyard that is shared with a neighbor. Eric came out the provide a quote and said a crew was available the next day. He texted me when they would arrive and they were right on time. I met with the crew to go over the project again and they completed the job with no issues. Well done job overall; I did a mass search of tree removal service companies on google for my zip code they was one of the companies that I ended up calling for a estimate. They beat my lowest price quoted at the time by $100 and was available to start the next week. They took down 4 larger trees and trimmed a 5th tree of my neighbors off my property. The team was cautious of my yard landscaping and moved around stuff as needed while putting stuff back into place at the end of job. Only two small cons overall but still very minor; I had one bush they slightly damaged by accident but they informed me right away, I gave them the ok to cut it down. Second it took them a extra week to come back and remove three stumps but honestly in all fairness it was a extremely rainy week. The woman in the office was downright cheerful and professional. I contacted Phenomenal through HomeAdvisor. Eric came by the next day to walk the property and make recommendations for trees to remove vs. trim and cautioned against trimming certain trees until they are dormant. We ended up having 8 trees removed--all were either dead or growing too close to the house foundation (one giant oak was growing a foot from the garage). Removing large trees and having the stumps ground out is expensive, but the quote was reasonable and Eric was knowledgeable. The crew came out the next day and cut down all the trees necessary. They removed small branches and other debris the same day, came out to grind out the stumps a few days later, and will be picking up the remaining logs this week. I've already recommended Phenomenal to friends, and I will be using their services again in the coming months. read more

We scheduled a meeting and he arrived early and very prepared with a proposal/contract ready to be completed. We agreed on the price and on a convenient day/time. I called this company in late January 2019 about removing 2 trees in the alley behind our condo building, one of which was destroying property. Eric answered right away, seemed eager to do the work, came by THAT DAY, and called me with a quote shortly afterward. Most contractors do not react so quickly, so he wins high praise for that alone. I ultimately received quotes from 5 other companies and when I later explained that his wasn't the lowest bid, Eric immediately matched it because he wanted the job. Another rarity! I therefore recommended to our association that he be awarded the contract and they agreed. Due to the cold weather, they couldn't do the work right away as planned, but when they did, Jaime (Eric's brother) and the others with him were as friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and hard-working as any crew that you will find. It was amazing to watch them. They had both trees down in a matter of 3-4 hours. Due to equipment problems and a metal obstacle, they couldn't remove the stumps that same day. I was worried about this, thinking they might not come back, but they honored their word and did the work 7 days later (last Saturday), nimbly working around the metal post growing in the tree. (Yes, I know how strange that sounds, but believe me it's true.) I cannot recommend this company highly enough for the way they handled our project from start to finish. Although this is the first time I've ever needed a tree removed, I couldn't have hoped to find a better group of people. These guys were absolutely phenomenal. Eric (the manager I believe) is extremely helpful, polite, and accommodating. We needed to clean up/ prune a big (4-5 stories tall) pine tree. It involved clearing a trunk of branches up to a height of 5-6 feet and then pruning/ cutting back the rest in girth. Eric was able to call me back and schedule a meeting for a free estimate the day right after my call. Then he followed up politely about what price would work for me. Great communication, great price. The next day he was in my area and a team of 4-5 guys helped do the job. They were very quick, but also did a great job.
