Service dept review Have brought in our Acura many times and have always noted an attitude and general unpleasant experience but we always shrugged it off. Today they really showed their lack of quality and customer care. We came in for repair of a battery that was replaced 1 yr and 4 days ago with a new battery. our cars warranty ended in the interim therefore they state the battery is not covered. I questioned if they just put in a new battery 1 yr ago almost to the day why would it already be bad and not covered. They were very unhelpful and downright rude. Renee, whom I was not even dealing with, actually laughed at me while I was questioning this. She stated good luck you aren't getting anything out of us you might as well leave and continued to joke and laugh at me right in front of me while I spoke with another worker. I have never seen this behavior allowed in any business towards a customer. To belittle and laugh at someone who has spent a lot of money on fairly expensive cars with Acura is so far past the line. I have actually dealt with her in the past and she was fairly rude then as well. Getting away from the poor customer service I would like to say they do not stand behind their service repairs. A battery they replaced a year ago to date they told me failed and needed to be replaced and it was not covered. They tell me they stand behind their work and the service manager told me "in south Florida the expectant life of a battery is only about a year". I don't think so. To top it all off when I left and went to auto zone they also tested my battery and told me it was just at 0% and they charged it for free and it works just fine. Acura told me it had to be replaced, a lie! So to summarize they told me my 1 yr old battery had to be replaced and was not covered and turns out it did not even need to be replaced to start with. This place is a scam, they are rude, and they do not stand behind their product. Go elsewhere read more

I want to thank Mike Leyden for being a straight forward and personable sales rep! My husband and I went in to look at a Red 2017 certified TLX that I had researched. I called the day before and spoke with Mike. He checked the lot to be 100% sure that the vehicle was still on the lot and it was. We were coming from over 2 hours away to see some cars in that area. We set an appointment for the next day for us to test drive this particular vehicle. We arrived the next day and drove the car. I liked it very much but my husband still wanted to do our due diligence and look at a few other cars at other dealerships. Before we left, Mike got us the final cost of the vehicle and let us know what our financing options would be if we went through them. (We were preapproved with our own bank but wanted to see if we could do better.) My husband and I also had another vehicle in our sights at a competing dealership. We did not have a good experience at this other dealership but that is another review entirely. Anyway, after considering our options I really wanted the Red TLX at Phil Smith Acura. I called Mike and let him know that we were coming back to close the deal. When we arrived Mike set us up with Mark Isaia the financial Manager and we closed the deal. Everything went smoothly and I got to drive home in my new car the very same day! I want to thank Mike Leyden for being patient with us during this process and please if you go into Phil Smith Acura ask for Mike. I purchased a low mileage 2019 Acura under warranty. Found out the second remote delivered with the car does not belong to the 2019 Acura we purchased. We were told it was the battery. Now went to a different Acura Dealer can not be repaired as the remote belongs to a different Acura. Phil Smith does not return phone calls they are over 200 miles away. I went in last Friday night to purchase a truck and frustratingly their internet was down. But Sam (finance) and Mike Crzeda (sales) were great working with what they had. They weren't pushy with add ons and did everything they could to get me the vehicle that night, unfortunately even the card machine was down due to the internet issue. We got as much finished as possible and they offered to pick me up the following day to complete the transaction. The truck was gassed, detailed and ready to go early the next afternoon. We had minimal paperwork to complete and of course a down payment to make and I was out the door. Both gentlemen were great to deal with and shoot a little car s@$t with as we were waiting for the computers to work through the jerry rigged internet work around they had artfully created. I have been in and out of many car dealerships and this dealership did an amazing job for making my transaction so smooth. From the moment I called to let them know what car I was interested in, I spoke with Mike and Andrew in sales. Andrew made sure the negotiation was quick and easy on the phone since I advised that my work schedule was hectic. All the paperwork was already done and just needed my signature. When I arrived to the dealership I met with Dennis who was accommodating and made sure I knew the car well before I left the car lot. While I was in the finance office with Sam it was less than 30 minutes I had myself a brand new 2020 ILX. I came here today for an oil change, the door to the service mangers office was open, that man should be fired for how he treats people with his denning attitude and his treatment of service personal. Five months ago I made the unfortunate mistake of buying a used car here, and I've regretted it ever since. The car was allegedly certified, yet it was sitting on the lot with a glaringly obvious problem which they hadn't bothered to repair. I've spent the last four months trying to get Phil Smith's useless service department to fix my car, but because it requires them to special order a body part, it hasn't happened. The service manager, Don, never answers his phone or returns messages. I chose to buy a car here instead of Rick Case Acura because the reviews were better, and yet I now have nothing positive to say about this place myself. Had an extremely unpleasant experience with the service attendant today as he promised on the phone to have a loaner for me so i could make it to work and didnt release the information that a 21 year old with valid insurance and and no claim history cant be loaned a car then proceeded to laugh while saying not just anyone can rent a car and offered me a seat in the loby. I got angry as this was 2 years of them dancing around my alternator problem by changing the battery. He told me i wasnt allowed back because I told him to take care of his fucking customers. I work in customer service and kicking a customer from the property no matter how rowdy means you dont want their business. This is the best dealership I've ever purchased/leased a vehicle from. The salesman Robert Black communicates the exact terms, plain and simple. And when I arrive, no changes to terms he's communicated; no bait and switch. The finance manager had all of the paperwork printed out and ready for me to sign. Over the telephone, when I inquired about the 2012 Acura RL, they were very responsive and impressively accommodating. They even picked me up from the Fort Lauderdale airport after I flew from Connecticut. Initially, I asked the salesperson assigned to me about dents and scratches and he stated there were none on the car. Within 2 minutes of me looking at the car I saw minor body damage, left rear wheel well. After considering other options, I bought the car, although I began to understand that I was dealing with a typical dealership. On my way home from Pompano to Connecticut, while at a Whole Foods parking lot, I noticed that the satellite antenna was missing, although I hadn't heard it fall. Since Tuesday, March 23, 2021 I had been calling the dealership and leaving voicemails. As of today, March 26, 2021, no one has called me back, not the salesperson, not the used car sales manager, and not even the general manager. Car dealerships have not evolved since the 1980s when I bought my first car. Something about Phil Smith Acura tells me that I should have avoided this dealership to begin with, regardless of how much I wanted to buy the Acura RL. Until April 1, 2021 they hadn't responded. I spoke with Charles Myers (Charlie) regarding the misinformation about the vehicle experienced with Nicholas Watson, salesman. The salesman lied about the physical condition of the car, claiming he hadn't seen that there were minor damages to the exterior of the car. Joe Perez, the used car manager advised that I get a price for the antenna repair which he implied they might assist with. Charles Myers said absolutely no help would be provided by Phil Smith Acura. I leased 2 vehicles from Phil Smith Acura three years ago. 6 months prior to our lease end agreement we were frequently solicited by our sales rep and general manager. No issues typical in the industry. To make long story short. I was very pleased with Acura product but not so much the dealership. This is a small time dealership that doesn't understand basic customer service and will not return calls. I returned both leases on the return date with all appropriate information. The following month I was billed for both cars stating my car was dropped off 18 days later. The dealer has all the documentation but refuses to help me out. The dealership told me to contact Acura Financial and Acura Financial tells me to contact the dealer. I have left several messages to the lease return department at Phil Smith with no return phone calls. I went in person to try to resolve issue and nothing has been done. I was told there was a glitch in the system but now I am responsible since the dealership didn't log that both cars were dropped off on the due date. Stay away. Rick Case Acura has much better deals and much larger inventory. Put half the money down and saved $70 a month. Better deal, better model car, and less aggravation. read more

We had such an amazing experience here yesterday that I had to write about it. We shopped all day and the day before for a new luxury SUV. We met many salesmen and drove many cars. Coincidentally, Acura was our last stop. All the cars we drove were beautiful and any would probably have made us happy. However, upon entering the Acura dealership, we started to feel we were in the right place. We were immediately greeted and introduced to Michael Leyden. We could tell that he was a professional salesperson by the way he talked to us, making sure he knew what we wanted and needed before showing us cars. Once he had an idea of what we were looking for, he efficiently took us on a test ride in the car we eventually took home. He began by driving us off the lot and introducing us to some of the finer points about the car. Since he knew that our other choice was an Infiniti, he talked about features that the Acura had which the Infiniti didn't. He never said anything negative about the Infiniti, which we respected. He simply helped us fall happily in love with the Acura. When it came time for making the deal, he sharpened his pencil and made the process short and painless. He saved us the usual posturing and bargaining by offering us a fair deal that we felt comfortable with. After agreeing, he came back to us when something wasn't exactly as he had expected and made adjustments without us even having to ask. The mileage was over what we discussed so he made us a slightly better deal. The entire staff then went on to efficiently close the deal in the least amount of time. We appreciate that kind of service and would highly recommend this dealership and salesperson to anyone looking for a gorgeous car at a fair price with top notch service. read more

Back in February, I began the miserable business of looking for a new car. I finally decided on an Acura and looked online for the specific one I wanted. There it was, located at Phil smith. Messaged them and received a call back right away. Drive there the next day and met with the salesman. I have to say this man was not pushy or arrogant in the least. The experience was actually painless. Well... my wallet felt a little stabbing pain but nothing time won't heal. We went through the usual rigmarole of negotiations with the manager but in the end we met in the middle. So now I'm back today for my first service and everything was great except for the price. And that stabbing pain in my wallet had just gone away! Got a coupon for checking in on yelp though. My service advisor Renee was great and also Louis. The mechanic took me seriously and let me drive the car with him until he heard that pesky noise that needed a fix. I know I will be back in the future for service but that price is kinda ridiculous. I drive an 2007 Acura RDX, i had the issue with the warnings that i got the following warning on my dashboard 1.Check Braking System 2.Check VSA System 3.Check ABS System 4.Gear shifter got locked So i went to the dealer to diagnose the problem (i was charged $89.99), after the diagnosis the mechanic has come back saying that break switch needs to be replaced, battery and differential fluid (optional), with a total around $400. As it is expensive i asked for little time and during this time i went to a local mechanic who checked the car figured out that a fuse got blown OFF (15A fuse) which costed $2, which brought the car normal. Phil Smith Acura completely mislead me for unwanted $398 and $89.99 for the check up. I lost the faith in these dealers. read more
