We had to try this place since cheesesteaks are one of our loves. This is a mom and pop shop with amazing service and good food. It was so packed inside, almost every table was filled! We sat outside since the weather was great. I got the 12" cheesesteak with provolone no onions please, with a side of fries, and a Dr. Pepper. The soda fountain must have been set up right, one of the best, sizzling, nose burning, bubbly sodas EVER. Ok, back the cheesesteak with provolone. It was GOOD beef flavor, melty cheese, and some mayo and BOOM.

A bit pricey for the quality and size of the sandwich. We went the morning of the Super Bowl so the wait was far longer than it probably normally is but was still very long. They prioritized phone orders to people waiting in the restaurant. The sandwich needed way more cheese because the meat wasn't very coated. Not a bad sandwich by any means, just not sure I'd visit regularly.

This place was amazing. Very clean and inviting. Not only was the food perfect but the woman working was lovely and the customer service was top notch. My husband had a cheesesteak with wiz that melted in your mouth and I had the tuna, which was real albacore (not a mix). Both were great and we can't wait to return and try new menu items.

Came here for the first time for the cars and cheesesteak show. What better than the 2 together!? It was a good turnout of people. This place is a cute mom and pop spot. The cashier helped me with recommendations, she was super sweet! I got the 12in cheesesteak meal with fries and a drink. It was delicious! Cheesesteak was perfect and fries were nice and crispy. I saw on their menu they even offered banh mi, which is a Vietnamese sandwich which I plan on trying on my next visit.

A great cheesesteak, good French fries and a nicely appointed Philadelphia-themed restaurant make for a great lunch. This is a small, mostly takeout spot. The woman behind the counter is super friendly, and her family own and operate the place. Definitely recommend. Great experience.

I have been looking for a GOOD Philly cheesesteak and I am happy to say, I have finally found one! So much so we have been back since we first went last week. I first wanted to address some of the concerns from other reviewers about "it went downhill" or "not liking the new owners". If the cheesesteak I had was "downhill" I'm not sure what uphill would I've been because this thing was GOOD. The meat was savory and delish. The cheese whiz. The onions. I mean, my mouth is watering now thinking about it. I also love that I can choose what cheese. White American, whiz, provolone, cheddar... but always stick with the classics kids. Also, the man I interacted with on both occasions was the most delightful human. Very kind, patient, informative, and remembered me a week later. We have had an OG cheesesteak, the Korean cheesesteak (which was delish), the Shazam, and the Banh Mi cold sandwich. Everything was great and it's our go to from now on. I would 100% recommend trying it!

Phila Deli is a small cheesesteak sandwich shop. You can dine inside at a few tables or outside at a few tables. Recently the ownership has changed and there are some new changes to the menu. Today the cheesesteak seemed the same as before. It's a good cheesesteak but I'm from Philadelphia so I expect cherry peppers and Philadelphia style bread. But still its a good sandwich. We tried the two Summer Specials The Albacore Tuna Hoagie and the Bulgogi fries. Both were VERY GOOD! The Tuna hoagie was very flavorful and delicious. I didn't mind it on that bread. I also really liked the bulgogi Fries. We got ours without the cheese and they were so tasty and the meat was very moist.....I think anyone would like them.....Maybe in the future they can add a bulgogi steak sandwich to the menu? I think it could be a hit! The old owners were very nice.......and we do miss them. And the new owners also seem nice so that is a win. The new additions to the menu really are very good! We wish the new owners best wishes!

Most of these reviews are from before the original owners, who were from Philadelphia, sold the place to Asian owners. The new owner has kept all the original Philadelphia artifacts, but has no connection to the city of Brotherly love. He doesn't use rolls from Philly, claims he uses ribeye, took a two week class on how to cook cheesesteaks and had added several Korean dishes to the menu. He has kept most of the original menu in order to fool previous customers that the food they are eating is being made by a guy from Philly. In my opinion, this is a classic example of a bait and switch situation. He has also accused me of being racist because I pointed out he was Asian or a variation of Asian. The definition of authentic can be twisted in many ways, but being from Philly and making a cheesesteak at least gives the feeling of being authentic. This situation is just fradulant, but wait the food could actually be good anyway right? Read original "racist" review below. Have never been here, but not sure how much things changed since the Korean owners took over. There are several Korean things on the menu. I just went for the traditional cheesesteak with white American cheese, which was almost $14 for a small and only onions are included. They claim they use ribeye. Nothing really special about the cheesesteak except it was a bit salty and didn't have alot of onions.. It didn't do much for me, but if you had a craving, this could help one time perhaps, if you want to pay $15 for a basic sandwich.

A few weeks ago, we were back on the east coast visiting family. Hubby's family loves to get cheesesteaks on the Jersey Shore. We had them from two different places and were disappointed. They skimped on the meat and just really lacked flavor. Back in AZ, hubby was craving a cheesesteak, so I told him to do some research. He was checking Yelp and I told him to look for a place run by someone from Philly or look for reviews from people who used to live there. Anyone can make a steak & cheese sub, but there's something special about Philly cheesesteaks. He found Phila-Deli and between the reviews and the ownership, we decided this was the place we'd go. I'll say it right now - we'll be going back! Hubby got a regular cheesesteak and I decided on the one with sauce. First, there was no skimping on the meat. And it was flavorful. The veggies were a nice undertone, letting the meat shine. And the cheese and sauce blended so well. I was impressed that I wasn't getting a heavy tomato flavor but instead it enhanced the cheese flavor. And the roll was exactly what a cheesesteak roll should be. It was perfectly soft and cradled the filling beautifully. They are located just off the 101 at 59th Ave - not exactly in my neighborhood, but worth the drive. There's a small seating area inside, and black & white Philly photos adorn the walls. The owner is definitely from the Philly area and we had a nice chat with him. Very friendly and takes pride in his business.

This is a hidden gem!! Holy good cheesesteak! Everything is made to order, so they accommodate anything!! Rolls are soft, good seasoning on meat, good cheese pull, and they recommend adding marinara -- this was a first for me but I would do it again in a heart beat! Fries are crisp and delicious! Overall great lunch!! Can't wait to come back again!

Second time here. Both times it was consistently delicious. I had the regular cheesesteak once and then"bacon mushroom Swiss" once. The bacon was too smoky and overpowered the flavor of the meat and cheese. But still delicious. The fries are breaded in a unique way. Tasted like the were fried in very fresh oil. My husband had the "special" which includes the usual mushrooms, onions, & choice of cheese, and bell peppers, marinara, & pepperoni. He loved it! The bread was super light & perfectly toasted. If your looking for a great sandwich head over to Phila Deli. Being removed from the east coast for over 25 years it brought me home. Try the chicken Philly or an original Philly cheesesteak. I talked with the owner while I was there and learned that the local support was great but the pandemic has been costly. Give it a try you'll be glad you did and while waiting for your order talk to them and learn a little about Philly. read more

Tried this place out for the first time. Got a take home order. The owner took my phone order and was beyond accommodating. Super nice guy. Ordered the Large Special Cheesesteak and some fries. We ordered a variety for takeout online. I was given a time for pickup and showed up 5 minutes before, but I'm thinking it was made way earlier as by the time I got it the sandwich had completely soaked and fallen apart. The meat tasted good, but I really can't judge on the sandwich as that was impossible to eat. The salad was NOT anything like the pictures - the only lettuce in it was the same shredded lettuce from the sandwich. Maybe it would be better eating it there, so I'll likely try it again, but for now I was pretty disappointed. On a positive note, the workers there were super nice and the place was super clean! I found this place by accident just over a year ago and have been back at least a dozen times! Everything on their menu looks incredible (but I typically find one or two things at any restaurant) Having said that, their cheesesteaks and Italian subs are awesome! IMHO their cheesesteaks are the absolute best in the valley (maybe better than Gino's or Pat's... sac religious I know.) Stop by and say hi to owners Chris and Vickie. New to the area and dropped in because of the great rating. New owners as of Tuesday are wonderful people and provides excellent service. Now, for the food... they serve Philly style sandwiches (duh), so there are a few ingredients that are key. The bread, so soft on the inside with a light crisp to the crust, was delicious. I've never ordered from here before but I decided to get a special chicken cheesesteak with provolone. It might have been my mistake for ordering chicken at a steak place, but the meat or something else in the sandwich did not taste fresh and had a slight metallic flavor to it. Definitely didn't finish the sandwich. This is the way of Philadelphia cheesesteak supposed to be made. Everything was melted into the juicy beef and this was one complete sandwich. Wasn't just dry meat with a bunch of cheese poured on top. Even the cheese whiz was all melted and inside the sandwich itself. The cheese fries were nice and crunchy and the nacho cheese sauce was a very pleasant surprise as opposed to Bland cheese sauce. This is definitely a new go-to place for me and my compliments to the staff and management for letting me find a place in the valley for a really great Philadelphia cheesesteak read more

Every time I go in they greet me with a smile and always are in a good mood. The owner Adina remembers me and my order and we have conversations every time I go in. The food itself is awesome. This place was a great find. The food was great. We ordered a meatball sub with mozzarella, a Italian sub warm and a chicken cheese steak with bacon and mushrooms. DELICIOUS! The sauce on the meat I sub wasn't sweet or salty. The Italian sub was flavorful, you tasted all the meats. And the cheese steak, I can't even find the words. The staff knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and attentive. I tried Phila Deli twice now, and was completely satisfied each time. Their Chicken Parm and Philly Cheesesteak were both delicious. The staff was friendly, the place looked clean. Not too many tables, so more of a pick up and go sandwich shop, which is fine with me. I recommend trying this place if you love East Coast Philly Cheesesteak's or other east coast sandwiches, try it! read more

We have been here three times now. This is probably the most authentic cheesesteak sandwich you can find in AZ. This is very close to Pat's in Philly. The cheesesteak has a lot of flavor. The bread is soft, the meat is tender and there is more than enough cheese wiz and onions to be almost perfect. My daughter likes extra cheese and onions but I think it's too much and will leave you with a soggy sandwich. We have also tried the Italian sandwich, which is good as well. Me and my boyfriend like to split the hogie and cheesesteak. The location is very small, clean and bright. I had one little error in our order once and the owner had our cheesesteak re-made right away. A small word of advice, they seem to get extremely busy at the dinner hour and I would recommend if you can, calling your order in. If busy it can take about 25 mins for your order to come up. My boyfriend is from Philly and he was very excited and approved this new place after the first try! It's delicious! If your looking for a mouth watering cheesesteak this is the place to go! read more

We just took over and want to continue the legacy of the authentic flavors of Philadelphia in Arizona. A husband and wife team whose dream has come true to own our place in our humble community here in Glendale, AZ. Outta Bronx - A Very Disappointing Visit and an Even Worse Follow‑Up…read more We've been customers of this spot for some time, and up until now, the food has always been solid. Unfortunately, our latest experience was far from what we've come to expect. Our order was wrong from the start -- something we caught before leaving -- and we were told our food had been handed to another customer, so it had to be remade. Annoying, but understandable. The real issues showed up once we got home. The mac and cheese tasted stale and simply wasn't edible. The Reuben was another disappointment: barely any meat, what little there was had been overcooked, and the sandwich had almost no sauerkraut. When I flipped it over, I could literally see more toppings through the meat than actual meat. The only thing that resembled their usual quality was the chicken fingers. What pushed this experience from disappointing to unacceptable was the phone call I received from the owner,after I emailed their website to share what happened. My intention was to give them a chance to address the situation privately rather than jumping straight to a negative review. Instead, I spent nearly half an hour listening to the owner defend the food, insist the items we ordered weren't their "best sellers," and tell us to choose different items next time. They claimed nothing could be wrong with the food and that we should have just eaten it. They also said the mac and cheese wasn't their responsibility and told us to complain to Krispy Krunchy Chicken because they "just microwave" what they receive. When asked whether a replacement would resolve the issue, I said yes -- only for the owner to then accuse me of taking money from their family and saying they personally wouldn't complain about food they didn't like. I was told to just eat it and avoid ordering those items again. I have this all recorded. If you're going to ask whether a replacement would make things right, why turn it into an argument afterward? This could have been handled quickly and respectfully. Instead, I was told I was bothering them by emailing on a Friday night, and the entire call felt unnecessary and unprofessional. Calling a customer on a Friday night to argue is not how you keep loyal customers. After enjoying this place for some time, it's disappointing to see how poorly concerns are handled when something goes wrong. Update: I believe the response to this shows what I outlined above. I do not know this owner personally. I met them twice at the restaurant when getting my orders and both were good yet brief experiences. I also do not understand how there is fraud in contacting a restaurant, via their contact us email address, to inform them of issues you had with an order. Their call to me, in response to the email, was not a personal call and entirely business related. This simply shows that this is the type of response one can expect if they have any issues with their order.

She should be embarrassed that she came to work that high.

So I started Yelping other pizza locations with delivery, so I saw a name I had had the pleasure of enjoying, and they had the Largest Pizza Pie I have ever seen with my eyes. So I took a gamble with Gus's Pizza. I was ready for anything but cooking, so I checked the yelp and found the flier with the website, so I loaded the site up on my tablet and read through the menu and prices were not out of this world so I called in a basic order at 7:22pm 24" Two Top Bacon, Pepperoni No Sauce $26.99 24 Wings (would have been fine with 12-nice and meaty more Medium or HOT, scary but still good) Nice work Gus's $25.99 and an order of garlic twists - amaingly tasty $5.99 (We found for my families g.i.r.d simplified and made almost any pizza anywhere a flavorful experience you we did not have to worry about. So laterally my guy sayse they should be there in about an hour. Sounded busy, and so I usually try to give them the benefit of the doubt. So I keep myself busy with some social media doom scrolling and already adding up the bill I was ok with not cooking and not having to clean up. So around 8:27pm p.m., oddly the same number I called went to voicemail. I figured they were busier than even I thought. I tried to brush away the thoughts that something was not right or the delivery driver may have got lost. So I I try to call again at 8:28pm and same response went to voicemail. So I chill a bit mor and wait 10 minutes and call at 8:39pm, speak to my guy he apologizes and says his guy will be there in 5-10 minutes and he will have the driver call me. So I hear my phone buzz and I figure this has to be the driver guy, so I answer, he asks again exactly what the address is and I say it slowly and clearly as I muted the tv when the phone rang. And he says the same, I will see you in 5 or so minutes, I tell him the street to go north on and make a left on our street and tell him what car is parked in the driveway. So I had my son sitting af the front door in an office chair watching for a car to pull up front. Well, we have waited some more, and then we saw lights on the camera, and I sent my son out of the garage to meet the driver in the driveway. And I clear the table as my son walks in with what my memory see is a largest pizza on the online menu at the middle of the menu on www.orderguss.com the 32" pizza that starts $11.00 more the then what I thought we ordered. The order was warm (curiouser how they kept all of hot for almost 2 hours) but I digress, because the last thing my son showed me was a pen with 3 pieces of paper and the total of $80.76...What in the Fuzzy Nuggets, and how did the bill get that much higher. It is now almost 9:00 pm, and my son needs to eat and start the nightly rituals before he goes to bed at 9:45 pm. So overall, now having enough food, I will need to freeze half because on a rip roaring day, I could have polished all 24 wings off. They were meaty enough. i think I got to wing 8. **Note** always confirm order whether it's loud or not, and confirm your sizes and totels before you give a card number. Sadly, there were no pictures - I could not touch my phone with wing sauce everywhere. We will see what happens next time

Phila Deli AZ is an absolute gem of a place! it has become my go-to spot for a quick bite. Great customer service and inviting atmosphere. The portions are great for the price & it's definitely worth supporting a small business!! (Not sure why there's negative reviews simply for the price...it's called taxes & inflation..) The cheesesteaks have perfectly grilled steak that's tender and flavorful. You can totally tell the cooks are passionate about their work! I recommend the Cheeseburger. They also offer a variety of cold and hot subs on Italian hoagie rolls. My favorite is the American Club. Comes with bacon!! I also tried one of their cheesecakes, that are made in the store. Next time I'll have to grab a homemade Ghirardelli chocolate Cookie or muffin... They also offer a nice selection of specialty bottled drinks that are hard to find elsewhere. I had to stopped there to order a sandwiches which has nice flavors. I takeout Steak Sandwich and Bacon Mushroom sandwich which taste fantastic and full of flavors. The buns were fresh and so tasty.
