Joana will let you know of the co-pays before you arrive and confirm the details of your appointment. She is also the most skilled dental hygienist I've encountered; she is very gentle and thorough in the cleaning process. Dr. Tchoi is both a two-in-one dentist and therapist. He's very knowledgeable and can get you the results you want and explains things to you with diagrams and 3D models, so you know what's wrong and how it's going to be fixed. He also asks you what's happened in life since the last time you stopped by. It's always a pleasant and casual conversation. What worked best for me was the location at 59th Street Columbus Circle was so ideal. It was steps away from the A and 1 train, so I could stop by during lunch or after work. It was so easy keeping on top of your dental care routine, because the location was perfect, especially if you worked in Midtown West. The office itself is very clean and well-kept. Pro tip: Dr. Tchoi does not upsell you on products and treatments you do not need! I've been to so many NYC dentists that are trying to sell you the next fad and things that you do not need just to make a buck off of you. These guys are quality and honest!

Bear with me because I describe my previous dentist at length to establish an illustrative contrast with Dr. Bruno. Our previous dentist at a swank 5th avenue location, who I had gone to for many years before I was married, and to whom my wife had gone to for a couple of years, was a technically a good dentist but as time went on I started to grow increasingly disillusioned with him and the practice. For various reasons I concluded that his good " dentist's chair-side manner" was more for show, and the practice was overly aggressive about x-rays including letting the hygienist take extra and unnecessary x-rays and threatening to throw me out of the practice if I didn't consent to x-rays which ad a physician I consider inappropriate. Finally during COVID two things happened. He made a series of errors with my wife's night guard that he blamed on us (as a physician I say don't blame the patient uness there is really compelling basis) and we felt uncomfortable about their level of  COVID precautions. To give you an idea of their attitude the office manager stated that it's only the staff that should be worried about catching COVID from the patients and not the other way around. This was part of what I perceived was an overall attitude amounting to "you're lucky to be one of our patients, we do no wrong, so don't complain".  The office manager also stated the hygienist and dentist do not use visors because they are wearing loupes, making it impossible to wear a visor. Enter Dr. Bruno. What a relief to have seen him. The contrast made me feel that we had been abused at the previous practice. Dr. Bruno's office was immaculate, his COVID precautions rigorous  (including visors even with loupes) and reassuring. His was very down-to-earth, genuinely affable and approachable , not aggressive about x-rays, responsive to our concerns about COVID without taking offense, and his hygienist was first-rate. He even reassured me about after hours emergencies. My previous dentist would never do that.  Although this was only our first visits, we came away feeling extremely grateful that our neighbor snd friend had recommended him in such glowing terms, because everything she said seems accurate, and we feel we now have a super dentist who is genuinely concerned about us and had the technical acumen to provide excellent care in the future.

Of course they blamed me for both of the failures even though I carefully adhered to their post care instructions. I was very unhappy with the appearance of my implant. Dr. Giglio insisted that he would do anything to make sure I was satisfied. Instead, he tried to charge me an additional $10,000 and still refused to adequately fix it. He screamed at me, berated me, stormed out of his office, and threatened me on multiple occasions. He is the least professional dentist I have ever interacted with. He is extraordinarily arrogant and will constantly reiterate that he is the best. He is not. Stay away.
