Sandwich was so good, I forgot to take a picture. Had heard good things about Philly Gs previously so decided to try it out. This location is inside of the Chattahoochee Food works building so there is plenty parking and multiple indoor and outdoor seating areas. There are 2 sandwich choices, steak or chicken Phillies and they have a handful of the usual add ons (peppers, mushrooms, choice of cheese). I came during lunch hours and while there did not appear to be a lot of patrons waiting, there's definitely a lunch rush so plan accordingly. Waited about 20 minutes for my food. But it was totally worth it!! Got the steak Philly and was full for the majority of the day! Try it out! read more

Yes it's pricey, but the service is always A1, food is fresh, and even if I can't finish a whole cheesesteak it's still delish the next day. It's conveniently located near an amazing cookie stall, so I normally just head over there while I'm waiting for my food. I visited the works and decided to try Philly G Steaks this go-round. The line wasn't long, so I placed my order of a regular cheesesteak with peppers, onions, cheese, and mayo with a side of chips, and waited at the bar until it was ready, which didn't take long. I got home and opened my sandwich and was pleasantly surprised at the size of the sandwich and how much meat was inside. I will say the taste was lacking a bit; it wasn't as seasoned as I expected, but it was pretty solid once I added some salt and pepper from home. Not sure how to really feel but I don't appreciate the hidden fees. I placed my order for pickup and was charged $19xx with tax no tip. I see their prices in house $15.99 b4 tax so I asked the guy is there up charged and I was told it's a $0.50 up charge. Overall really yummy!! The meat was good quality! I wouldn't mind some more seasoning but maybe I'm just a salt lover. Some of the best in Atlanta! I waited until after our 3rd visit to write this review. Your choices here are the steak philly, chicken philly, and the salmon jawn ! I've had all 3 and the steak philly is the winner by far. I've only found one other place in Atlanta that makes great cheesesteak but this one is much more accessible than driving all the way to Stone Mountain. Most importantly they make a great Philly. You can customize it to your liking and they have steak, chicken, and salmon to choose from. Found about this place from my daughter who recently visited the Chat Market place. I've passed this location at least a dozen times and never knew it existed. Being a lover cheesesteaks it would only be right to give them a try. The 1st thing I would say is it's a little pricey for a cheesesteak which includes a bag of chips for $17. No drink I may add. Nonetheless it's worth trying. As far as the food goes, it's definitely good. Meat seasoned quite well and the amoroso roll is on point. They have unlimited add-ons so you can definitely switch it up. The only thing I'd like to see is lettuce and tomato, but they yet yo carry this 2 options. There is plenty of parking, seating is limited, service is great, and hands down better than another cheesesteak location in downtown Atlanta. This review is for "The Works" location. The food is excellent - the chicken cheesesteak is a a family favorite with both the bread and ingredients being fresh. The staff is always kind and make great recommendations to those who are first time patrons. However, they could do without the owner behind the counter. He went on a boisterous and unnecessary rant about him being the owner while his son was trying to help a customer- it was strange and uncomfortable to watch. Of note, of all the times we've frequented he's never been there so maybe he was just having a bad day. Located in the chattahoochee works good hall in the upper west side. Great ambiance, lots of food stalls around for the picking. The staff and cooks looked a hard working bunch. Taking pride in their cheesesteaks. Only tried the regular cheesesteak with cheese wiz. Bread was soft and absorbed the juices well. The meat was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Cheese wiz was a little too salty for my liking. The onions were thinly sliced and got lost after the cooking and location inside the sandwich. A pretty standard cheesesteak, would get again with another type of cheese when I am in the mood , however there are so many other places in that food hall. Fantastic! I've been looking for a good Philly in Atlanta and this is the new winner. Nice steak with juices flowing and great flavoring.
