Why oh why do i always take so long to try good places! LOL Philly's Best has been in my bookmarks for so long that when I searched it up this morning - cobwebs were all up in the way. This location is in a cute but dangerous plaza (dangerous because it kills my wallet with target, daiso & trader joes LOL) walking into the establishment - there were a few tables outside and quite a few inside - including the counter, which i thought was cute. Im an eagles fan - my man is a HUGE EAGLES fanatic so this place immediately felt like home, lol. We got 2 phillycheesesteaks with cheese whiz, an order of fries (which i deeply covered with old bay) and a large soda. It was delicious. The bread is my favorite. Amorosos are so deliciously good and completes the sandwich. Definitely coming back - service was great as well. The 2 girls working were really nice and helpful. read more

I can't believe I trusted the reviews for this place. It seems like maybe the business has started to fall apart but I didn't expect it to be this bad. We ordered a Philly cheese steak with chicken. What we got was a soggy piece of bread with barely any chicken and cheese and no onions or peppers. We didn't know that when ordering a sandwich from this place that you had to say "hey add some peppers and onions on the Philly cheese steak" when that's exactly how it should be made in the first place. The sandwich was $14 which is actually absurd for soggy chicken and cheese. We were not asked if we wanted the onions and peppers or anything at all. I don't know how they're running this place it really felt like a scam. read more

January 21, 2020 3.5 stars. Pretty decent sandwiches. Like all of the other sandwich places nowadays, kind of expensive though. Ordered the most basic chicken and cheese Philly sandwich today. Was $8.49. $9.28 including tax. I'm more familiar with the Philly's Best location in Arcadia. I've been to that one a few times over the years but I think that one has since closed. Not sure if I've ever been to this San Dimas location before today. I'll come back here again sometime when I'm in the neighborhood though. Next time I need to remember to ask them not to put so much cheese in the sandwich. Damn, I love cheese but there was way too much of it. It was more like a cheese sandwich with some chicken. Yikes. I AM SO DISAPPOINTED!! I've been to a different Philly's Best location in Chino and that's what reeled me in! Their name literally has "best" and "philly" in it, take it how you want, this is by far the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had! But, not at this location... I was surprised to find out there's a chain of this delicious Philly cheesesteak restaurant but I guess different locations will have different taste? I was extremely happy I ordered the Chicken & Cheese (with onions-- this is a free topping) for $7.99 because this is what saved my dine-in dinner experience. It was delicious and I was salivating while eating. The chicken was so tender, literally fell apart, it was almost like shredded chicken. Who knew chicken would taste so good with white American cheese?? The ooey -gooey cheese was my favorite part! My bf ordered the norm, and what you'd get at a Philly cheesesteak place-- the Steak (AND PEPPERONI) for $7.99. Since we both like to try different things, we just split the two sandwiches so both of us can have half of the chicken and half of the steak. This was the disappointment, the cheesesteak with pepperoni wasn't as mouthwatering as I remembered it. The steak was thinly sliced but we agreed maybe the sauces or how the steak was marinated wasn't tasty. The guys working there are amazing. They both have huge smiles, they crack jokes and they complete the order in almost what it seems to be a minute! So I wanted to try this place but never had the chance till now. Why did I wait so long. This location is in a small strip mall with major department stores in the area. A health code in the window and plenty of space to park. A few handicap parking in the area. 45 tables and very clean. Three giant TV's for every kind of sports available and a nice atmosphere. Very easy to read and large menu. If your not sure on what to get just ask. Have a special thing you can't have tell them not to put it on. Food is cooked to ordered and tastes very fresh. Pretty good philly cheese steaks that are flavorful. I loved the bread used. The pepperoni cheese steak was delicious. I can't eat my cheese steaks without pepperoni now! Also, there's a deal on the 5th, 15th and 25th of every month. Who doesn't enjoy saving money on some sandwiches? They have catering too, which I found to be pretty awesome because you can have your guests assemble their own philly cheese steaks. When you walk inside Philly's Best you can almost imagine you are in Philly, with all the memorabilia. However this ain't Philly, it's Cali, and so far NO! Place in this state was able to please me when it comes to the Philly Cheese Steak. The story is that the ingredients to make a PCS are brought in from the city of brotherly love. That said my PCS with provolone, wiz, grilled onions and mushrooms tasted as following; Taking a bite the Wiz tasted extraordinary, with the provolone and the grilled onions and mushroom, lost memories form Philly came to the surface of my mind. The bun made it almost perfect, but the meat, the steak, the center and the heart of the PCS original......nah! Something was missing, some ingredient, a flavor, spice was not present. I had a great time there, but the PCS could not overwhelm me nor win me over, it was OK. If I could I would give 3.5 stars, but 4 is to high of a number. I must add, that I was so excited to try this PCS upon recommendation that I was not able to make a picture of it, and because I did not wait the steak was a bit too hot and I burned some of my precious taste buds. I Love eating the Phillys Best Cheesesteak But yesterday I got to have an entirely different experience. The Italian Hoagie. It was so delicious, after I finished eating it I wanted another one. Now that I have 2 favorites look out 5.99 on the 5's. This lady is going to have an extremely full belly. (I wont eat them at the same time, but I will savor the flavor for another day). I have eaten a cheese steak from here at least a handful of times. I order the best it has mushrooms and sweet peppers I also add grilled onions, provolone and American cheese. Although I always enjoyed it I knew that the bread, while good and satisfying, was not as soft or as good as some of the others like West Coast cheese steak. There was also something about the flavor that I didn't care for but I didn't know what it was. Now I know exactly what it is that tasted a little off to me I realize that they don't have bell peppers like any other I've tasted they use sweet peppers and I really don't like it because they're extremely sweet, not just a little bit. I personally don't care for that but anyone who likes or doesn't mind that is going to love the sandwich I think. The only other negative that I have to say about it is that there is no type of sauce to put on there except for pizza sauce. I would like cheese sauces, other sauces and peppers, jalapenos and pickles and things to be able to put on my cheese steak but they don't offer that stuff. I got their cheese fries. So so damn good to me. They have a different type of thickness not too thick but very satisfying and the flavor is special. I hate cheese whiz but dipping these fries into it was even good. I suggest getting the cheese on the side for your first time in case you want to just taste more fries and only dip into the cheese instead of poured on top. I also got the onion rings for the first time and they are good. A little bit sweet and it's also a beer batter that's on them. I would have liked to be able to dip into a sauce or something but again.. they don't have any type of dips or sauces or anything for sides or nothing. I will keep getting the sandwich but I won't put the sweet peppers on it that's all. If you guys are reading.. you guys need to get some sauces to put on the sandwich and use for side dips. read more
