Philly's Best always hits, but this visit was especially good. First off--shoutout to John, the owner. Super chill, welcoming, and genuinely cares about the food and the experience. You can tell when a spot is run by someone who actually loves what they do. Delilah at the register/food running was SO sweet and friendly, and Reuben in the kitchen absolutely killed it--our order came out fast, hot, and with quality on point. We ordered our usual Philly's Best cheesesteak, but upgraded it with their new seeded roll and Cooper Sharp cheese and WOW. Huge difference. The roll had great texture, the cheese was sharp and melty in the best way, and honestly... it reminded me of Philly. If you're already a fan, do the upgrade. I've been coming here for a while and have always enjoyed my visits -- but today's experience was bad enough that I felt compelled to leave a review. I ordered my usual steak sandwich: light onions only, no cheese. Simple enough. When I got back to my office, I found cheese on it. Frustrated but understanding that mistakes happen, I called the store to get it sorted out. That's where things went from bad to worse. The employee who answered, Kevin, was immediately dismissive and insisted the mistake was my fault. When I calmly asked whether there was any chance an error had been made, he flatly said no and continued to argue with me. When I asked to speak with a manager, he told me to call back tomorrow. I've worked in customer service and I know a wrong order is not the end of the world -- it happens. But refusing to take any accountability and doubling down rather than offering any kind of solution is simply not acceptable. A simple "I'm sorry, let us make it right" would have gone a long way. Beware if Kevin is working. I hope management sees this and addresses it, because the food itself is good and the rest of the staff has always been fine. I've visited this place a number of times over the years, and the food is usually pretty decent (I did get a sandwich made totally wrong once, but it happens sometimes, no biggie). So why the 3-star review? The prices. The prices are a little out of control in my opinion. Today I started a takeout order of a veggie cheesesteak and cheese fries. The total was $18 (pre-tax). And then they ask for a tip in addition to that. So including tax and a small tip, the total was going to be over $21. For one person, buying about the cheapest sandwich on the menu plus some fries, with no drink. I don't know about you, but I just don't see the value for dollar there. This is the best hot sandwich shop I have been to! We are visiting from AZ and had a great experience at Philly's Best. Drew was super helpful and made excellent recommendations. Food was yummy, they were able to slice the sandwiches for the kids and the complementary pickles/peppers were so yummy! I placed an order over the phone for pick up at a specific time. The employee was courteous and the order was ready when it was supposed to be. All of the following was under $50 as of Jan 2023, and the sandwiches were pretty generous in portion size: 3 cheesesteaks (2 beef, 1 chicken), 1 order of onions rings, and 1 side of ranch. We weren't charged for added grilled onions onto our sandwiches. Not sure if that was lucky or if they don't charge extra. The new cook keeps taking to the cashier girl instead of doing my order right. There is no one else in the restaurant, there's nothing else on the grill - they even wrote the order down correctly, but just couldn't find the skill to prepare the meal as described. Very large sandwiches for a reasonable price. I had the chicken with peppers, which was virtually impossible to finish by myself. I stopped in there on a warm sunny afternoon and they did not have the air conditioning running, which made my visit somewhat uncomfortable. It was not clear if the air conditioning was just in need of repair that day, or they intentionally turned it off to save on their electric bill, as many places sometimes do. The absolute BEST. I highly recommend this place, go for all your meals. I had the cheesesteak yesterday at a Super Bowl party and it was so good I woke up this morning having already decided I wanted it for lunch today. I placed my order on Door Dash and asked for jalapeños. The restaurant sent a little cup of the peppers they do have with a HAND WRITTEN note saying they are sorry the don't have jalapeños! A message to this (and all) restaurants: please don't ever lose this level of customer service and customer attention, I cannot tell you how much we the customer appreciates it! I called and told the manager most restaurants would see the request and ignore it probably for a few reasons: they are busy, it's doordash so no customer right in front of you, etc. This place clearly goes above and beyond. I pulled-up to the shopping center parking lot 10 minutes before 9 looking for something to eat that would not be in the fast food category. I found saw this place and although hesitant to go in because I saw no customers - I still went in and for that I am so happy. They were about to close, they had just started cleaning-up, nevertheless the staff was friendly and eager to satisfy my hunger. I ordered the Philly's best with onions. It was perfect! Standard Philly cheesesteaks. Nothing special, but I suppose it's good enough to satisfy your craving. I think the bread to meat ratio is a bit unbalanced but it makes up for the cheap prices. I've only tried two of their menu items and neither have really impressed me. The cheesesteaks don't look too appetizing, but it's fine, I suppose cheesesteaks are supposed to be like that? But it makes sense since this is just a suuuuper quick lunch spot. Super fast service though, props to them for grilling the meat and cheese quickly and thoroughly even though there were more than 5 people in front of me. I was in and out of there in 7 minutes. I love coming to this place! I come here every Tuesday right after work around 1:30pm. It's one of the highlights of my week. I usually order the turkey sandwich with everything (including hoagie peppers). I like to add onion rings and a coke. The sandwich is delicious and it's more than I can eat at one sitting. I usually just eat half and take the other half. The cashiers are all young kids in their late teens or early twenties. They're polite and helpful. The orders come out quickly and are placed on a trey for pick up at the counter. I use a cane on a regular basis. And on various occasions, my food has been brought to my table so I don't have to get it myself. That's very kind. I really want to give this place five stars because it could be five stars but quite frankly I have to agree with other people on two things. Inside, there is no AC. I always eat outside because it is way too hot in there. I get it. Electricity isn't cheap. Although it isn't a huge deal to me personally, I'd prefer the gentlemen preparing the sandwiches to wear gloves and a proper kitchen hat for better food preparation higiene. Fix these two and it's a solid 5 stars! read more

Customer service was awesome and food was good but the reason I gave 3 stars is for the working conditions for their employees. It's sad to see that in the summer time there is no air conditioning for the store. It's terrible to have customers walk in there and not even feel comfortable enough to dine in but to have an employee do a full shift and cook while there is no air conditioning is deplorable. It doesn't look like the owner or managment looks at yelp reviews or they refuse to comment on them but I hope this gets to you and you learn how to treat your employees better with better working conditions. read more
