    Cali Cheesesteak
    Willis N.

Very casual and friendly food truck. I ordered the Cali Cheesesteak and the staff were super friendly. Since it was my first time there she had me try some fries at no extra charge. The cheesesteak itself was solid. Lots of flavor and lots of contents. No skimping here. The red and cilantro sauces are bonus. Though next time I should try the hoagie, I woulda liked my bread crispier but that's not really anyones fault. Lastly I think this food truck can benefit from some portable chairs n tables. I lowkey had to look for a dining patio at OC County Hall nearby because there's no way I'm eatin this in my car lol. But yea I wouldve really loved to had sat n dined right then n there. Probably will come back for that hoagie

This food truck was at the OCSC game on 10/4/25 in Irvine. Fast and friendly service in a casual atmosphere. Simplest menu I've ever seen. Only options were either a cheesesteak, fries, or cheesesteak fries. Overpriced, but what food truck isn't? It was $15 before tax and tip for a decent sized sandwich. It was good, but most of the meat chunks were too large to take in one bite, and the sandwich was served so scalding hot that it made it that much more difficult to manage. I was asked if I wanted hot peppers, which I said I didn't want, but then the sandwich came with no peppers at all. To my knowledge, Philly cheesesteaks are supposed to come with regular red and green peppers (not "hot" at all), but maybe I'm wrong? Miscommunication? I enjoyed the flavor of the sandwich I got, but the aforementioned made me not absolutely love the experience.

Delicious! Had the original and fries. So tasty and lean beef. The fries were great too. Perfect crispness on the outside and soft inside with perfect seasoning. We had the best service from both the owner and Damien. Excellent family run business.

I'm one of very few Food Truck affectionados since I don't usually have time to drive around to a particular location and park and wait for the food to be cooked! However, I have had three occasions in not so distant past of getting the Korean BBQ Tacos, Thai Food, Syrian Food and Halal Brothers in NYC. So I'm not a newby or brand new customer for this particular culinary experience that everyone is raving about. I just recently received a marketing but very personal text via Yelp offering $3 off of $15 Phyllis Steak from Phyllis King Food Truck. At that particular point in time I had absolutely no desire for a sandwich, but I replied yes and took my wife and my father for lunch at the Santa Ana Downtown location where a nice, new food truck with QRS order sign and simple menu with everything from Pastrami French Fries, Cheese Burger, Reuben Sandwich, Phyllis Cheese Steak Sandwich, etc. Don't let the simple menu fool you. This Food Truck has Michelin Star Chef with immensely delicious and generous hot sandwiches with all the right ingredients. Also the cleanliness of the truck inside and out with hygienic blue medical grade gloves, hand sanitizer use, plenty of top quality to go boxes and sterile containers all speak volumes about the highest quality food truck ever. The husband and wife team are absolutely flawless and customer care top five stars. I took home five sandwiches with two large French Fries with pastrami cheese on top, six different sauces and extra red chili peppers. The cheeseburger was to die for. Once at home we dived into the sandwiches like the hungry pack of wolves even though we are all watching our weight. My youngest daughter is very strict with her diet but she broke her fast with the cheeseburger. I ate Phyllis CheeseSteak Sandwich smothered in onions, extra cheese and absolutely delicious hot au jus sauce-deep, savory yet light with slight salty flavors were absolutely amazing. My True Yelping Mukbang Friends: go and try everything they have. I guarantee you'll enjoy this gem of excellent hot sandwiches from the East Coast! You will not regret it.

Discovered The Philly King at woodbridge apartments. Love, love, love! Haven't had a cheesesteak in CA that tasted legit.. until now. High-quality meat, cheese blend, and the perfect bread. Service was A+. Definitely going back for more!

I really wanted to like them more than I did, and maybe cause I had been hunting them down and going out of my way I had higher expectations. Ever since I moved to the OC I have been looking for two things, a really bomb thai place and an awesome Philly cheesesteak. I am still on the lookout for both if y'all have any recommendations. I've made a few attempts and still haven't had a Philly cheesesteak from here... they ran out apparently... and then another time they had COVID so they didn't show up? And another time they just weren't there? Super flakey about locations and where they're gonna be so make sure to check on their Instagram or call? (I tried but they didn't pick up) I tried their shrimp po boy, it was okay... the shrimp was tasty, but just wasn't anything special. The pastrami fries were okay as well. The Hat is better (I don't even enjoy the Hat like that but theirs is better) I didn't enjoy the cut of their fries and they were limp and the sauce on top wasn't interesting or lending any flavor. I guess if I stumble upon them again at Chapman Crafted again I'll try and get a Philly cheesesteak if they aren't "sold out".

    So good!

The food is the best in town! My wife have visited their food truck in Irvine multiple times and they never disappoint. Mario and his wife go out of their way to treat every customer as part of their family. I recommend checking them out ASAP you won't regret it. Their bread is amazing and my wife would eat it alone if she could. However, if you want the full treatment I highly recommend Philly turkey my wife's go to and I love the Mr. Reuben. If you are a serious foodie you have to try their Philly Cheesesteak Fries!!!!

Told us everything is made in-house, even the sauces! That's really good to know and makes me feel better about the food. She even gave me a free delicious cookie for being a first timer! And she comes around from time to time to check on us to make sure we're enjoying our food. Really nice to receive this kind of attention from a fast-casual restaurant. The Santa Maria BBQ Salad looked good but I asked her if they could substitute the chicken with the Chimichurri steak and she said "sure!" And surprisingly they did not charge extra! I love restaurants that are flexible like this. My salad bowl was SO good and filling. Lots of good stuff in it: chopped salad mix, coleslaw mix, Applewood-smoked bacon, crumbled goat cheese, corn & black bean salsa, grape tomatoes. Served with chipotle ranch dressing and blackberry BBQ sauce on the side, and a fresh baked focaccia bread. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the cold meat. I was under the impression that the meat was going to be hot. My BF got the Southwestern Sandwich. It was delicious. All the Southwestern flavors were there but not overwhelming. The sandwich was hot and juicy. For a restaurant that makes everything from scratch, their prices are very affordable. Both our meals were only $27 total. Friendly service, great food and good prices - what not to love?

What made the stop even better was the service behind the bar. The employee taking our order and serving the sandwich was genuinely pleasant, attentive, and accommodating, offering great recommendations that made choosing easy and the experience even smoother. The sourdough was exactly how it should be: fresh, crisp, lightly toasted and sturdy enough to hold everything together. Inside, Calabrian deviled egg salad met a perfectly jammy egg, spicy mayo and peppers for a creamy, tangy kick with just the right amount of heat. Messy? A little. Worth it? Absolutely. This was a lip-smacking, reach-for-another-bite kind of sandwich. We didn't have time to dive into the beer selection, but there were plenty of tempting options. With its business-district location, this would be an easy stop after work for a cold brew and a seriously good sandwich. Quick stop. Great service. Killer sandwich. The Devil Made Me do it.

I ordered on a Saturday and it took about 30 minutes for the food to be ready, so you might want to order ahead if you're already hungry . I asked for the vegetables on the side and both sandwiches cut in half. I got the #1 Classic Dac Biet Banh Mi and the #6 Crispy Pork Belly Banh Mi. #1 Classic Dac Biet This was VERY good. I think I actually like their dac biet better than Banh Mi My Tho, and that was my favorite banh mi place coming in! There was something about their pate that was so savory and umami. Whatever it was actually dripped everywhere, but it was delicious . I say pate "sauce" because I always thought pate was more of a paste that gets smeared onto the bread, and I don't think the liquid was coming from the vegetables. Either way, I haven't really had anything quite like it before, and it went really well with all the meats. The vegetables were fresh, and they were very generous with them too. The only thing I really wish was better was the bread. It was toasted, but it was so hard that it actually cut my gums. I had to tug at the sandwich just to get a bite off . Unfortunately, the bread was the same on both sandwiches. #6 Crispy Pork Belly I had pretty high expectations for this one. The pork belly looked juicy and wasn't completely dry, but for some reason, the more I chewed it, the drier it tasted. I also thought the flavor was pretty mild. I really wanted to like this one, but honestly, I'd probably rather eat the roasted pork belly by itself and dip it in some hoisin sauce. Between the two, #1 is definitely the one I'd come back for. I'd skip #6 next time and try another sandwich instead. The dac biet alone is enough to bring me back!

Orders are placed at the counter and they call your number once your food is ready. The dining room consists of mostly booth seating with one "communal" table, and counter seating with 5ish chairs. There are also a handful of tables set outside. I've really been enjoying banh mi and their Bulgogi beef sandwich sounded great. I also happen to have a thing for popcorn chicken, so I got an order of that to round out my lunch. Oh, and based on the rave reviews I've read about their peach & lychee green tea, I ordered one of those as well. Let me just say, lunch was very satisfying! The sandwich was generously filled the fresh ingredients and the meat to veggie ratio was perfect. I'm not sure what the green sauce was that they finished the sammie off with but it was SO tasty!! I requested the popcorn chicken with medium heat and it was just spicy enough to leave my tongue tingling slightly. My friend saved an egg roll for me and it was also really good. (The tea by the way was very refreshing.) Now, this was my first time here but I never saw anyone come out to check the dining room or wipe down the tables after the lunch rush. This was especially concerning to me because they had a guy doing work on the windows who put his feet/ shoes on the tables right under said windows. Ewww. But aside from the parking challenge and the table hygiene/cleanliness, our visit was quite enjoyable and the food was very good. We would definitely return, but we'll have to plan around the lunch rush!
