I come for the EGGPLANT SANDWICH !!! (Yes that means no meat) & it was So freaking Good I could not believe an eggplant sandwich could be made like that! My friend had a chicken or steak sub & mine was absolutely better than hers -- she agreed! Patio seating is always a big Plus for me, fresh air while I eat

Philly Cheesesteak and a Mushroom Philly Cheesesteak
    Benjamin C.

I know Philly's is a Visalia staple, but I just can't get what the hype is with this place. I've tried their brick and mortar and today I tried the food truck. Food trucks that don't display any prices always trip me up. I know, without a doubt, I'm going to be taken advantage of. That's exactly what happened here. The wife wanted a Philly Cheesesteak and I wasn't going to say no. I go to order and I get told the total is $28. I ask if these are big sandwiches and the guy helping has the cook hold up a bun to show me the size. The look on my face had to be extremely unimpressed, because he quickly told me they stuff these full. No turning back now. When my name got called and I grabbed the to-go bag, I knew I messed up. It felt like the bag was full of napkins. I know the cost of things have gone up, but if I pay you nearly $30 for two sandwiches, it better feel like I have two "stuffed" sandwiches waiting for me in the bag. Instead of stuffed, I had slightly full sandwiches. I was hoping what was lacking in portion size would be made up for in quality. I was let down a second time. Since the sandwich wasn't stuffed and the filling was slightly dry, I got a DAS (Dry Ass Sandwich). That's not mentioning the fact that my Philly Cheesesteak seemed more like a Philly Steak with a sprinkling of cheese. Overall the whole experience was disappointing and I won't be visiting the shop or truck again. I'd rather eat the Philly Cheesesteak we have at home.

Mushroom cheesesteak with a hint of cheese

I really hate to do this because the service was great and the ladies were very nice but I probably won't be coming here again. I was baited by their Instagram videos. Ordered the mushroom Philly cheesesteak. I double checked and asked if cheese wiz comes with it and she said they were out. No big deal. Got the fries for the side. It came out to 21.60. Forgot to order a soda, so ordered that and that was 3.80(btw refills are not free) so basically paid 25$ for this meal. Got the food, bun was toasted very nice, warm, then I took a bite and, nothing! No flavor. It's just texture of a cheesesteak with absolutely no flavor. Fries were fine tho but man, that cheesesteak I will remember for the rest of my life as being the most bland, water flavored cheesesteak I've ever had. That just my experience though. Maybe I picked a bad day or they just forgot to season the meat.

Greek salad with Marinated chicken. $3.50 for the chicken Greek Salad

This place was recommended by a friend. Try the salad they said, so I did. I had the Greek Salad w/ marinated chicken. When I got my salad I was sad to see it in a To-go container when I decided to dine in. The place is small w/ 3 tables but there is plenty of outdoor seating. My salad was tasty w/ the Balsamic Vinegrette but A little skimpy on the cucumbers and olives and there was no feta cheese. I kinda feel ripped off for $17. Would I come back, well I'm in no hurry unless they plan on serving what they advertise on the menu

    Amazing. Philly's. Beans. Macaroni salad.

I have wanted to try this place for a very long time. It was delicious and hot. Cooked too order and the staff was great. Lacked a little salt with the salad, beans and meat but nothing we couldn't fix. Definitely will be back.

COVID-19 phase: My mother called in and ordered 2 mushroom cheese-steaks and 2 side salads. She said it would be ready in 10 minutes. We went to get it. The place was nice. They have outside seating. The worker was very nice too. The food was ready. The mushrooms Philly cheese-steak sandwich was delicious! Fresh and tasty! The side salad was really good too! Simple. Fresh. Great dressing! My mother said it all tasted really good too! Good service and great food! Highly recommended!

Three campers stopped at Sequoia Brewing in Visalia during the drive home from Sequoia and Kings…read moreCanyon National Parks on June 3rd. The running water in the bathroom was well appreciated. The campers ordered three beers and the Gilroy pizza (chicken, feta, tomato, artichoke hearts). They rotated the three beers until each guest tried a sip of each beer and concluded all three beers were excellent! Then the plates arrived, one dirty with food residue. While the campers did not expect to have cleaner dishes at their campsite than at a restaurant with running water, they understood that sometimes automatic dishwashers don't get all food residue off 100% of the time, and sometimes waiters forget to visually inspect the plates they serve for foreign object debris. Next, the pizza arrived with chicken, feta, tomato, and mushrooms?! Now the campers specifically choose the Gilroy pizza for the artichoke hearts and avoided the Flame Grilled Pesto Pizza due to its mushrooms. Immediately upon serving the pie, one camper asked if the right pizza arrived. The half-conscious waiter lied, assuring the correct pizza was served. However, the campers were hungry and in a hurry to drive back home. Nevertheless one reviewed the menu and confirmed that the pizza order is wrong due to the mushroom for artichoke heart switcharoo. This camper told the waiter, who then kindly offered to make the correct pie to remedy the situation, without apologizing for gaslighting the campers earlier while displaying a total lack of awareness for the toppings on the Gilroy pizza. The campers politely declined due to the time required to bake another pizza, with a desire to arrive home quickly, and ate the pizza that was served. Normally, a waiter with a shred of emotional intelligence would offer a free dessert or waive the cost of one of the three beers the campers ordered to remedy the dishonesty, disgusting dishes, and disorganized delivery of delicious, but different than desired, edibles. Instead, the campers paid their full tab and generously compensated the waiter with an industry standard gratuity. The quality of the pizza was delicious: both the toppings and the crust. The owners and brewmasters did an excellent job providing delicious nourishments and liquids while the manager is failing them by not holding the staff accountable to the very basics: clean dishes and correct food orders. The campers had a simple order without substitutions, meaning only the most incompetent staff could find a way to screw it up. Five stars for taste but the service downgrades this review to four. Update (to the owner who replied) why would I go back when you haven't offered any remedy?

Having recently heard the news about the closure, I would like to recall the good and mostly the…read morebad. Sequoia Brewing was best for the affordable drinks and not for any food items. Drinks were always made strong and the servers were pleasant although the food always took forever to come out. The food always tasted frozen and oily. The health score should have deterred us and we were always met with sticky tables and glasses. *Three Rivers Mojito: could have used more mint but boy was the rum pour heavy. The lime taste was strong and I would have like more strawberry puree. *Pretty In Pink: fruity and sour with a strong alcoholic finish. I wanted more of a elderflower and hibiscus flavor but the prominent raspberry taste was still good. *Watermelon Vodka: slightly artificial but wow was the vodka heavy. Despite ordering this during happy hour, the pour was generous and the glass was massive. *Fried Pickles: the batter was incredibly thick and it wasn't cooked through. I literally had to peel off the doughy exterior to enjoy the classic pickle. This item needed more time in the fryer and the batter recipe should be revised. *Potstickers: the only decent food item. This was most likely frozen given the perfectly identical creases but it was steamed properly. The dipping sauce was flavorful and vinegary. *Fish and Chips: suffered from the same thick and flavorless batter. The fries were alright, salty and crispy. The cod was tough and rubbery. I mostly ate the fries with the tartar sauce and ranch and left the fish alone. Sequoia Brewing, your cheap drinks will be missed but pretty much nothing else.

Other than that; no complaints. Service I've heard is super nice and I can report that it still is. Super friendly mom and pop sandwich shop making some very good sandwiches. Can't discuss ambiance yet until I can make my way down to see it for myself. This sandwich took me by surprise. For $13 you get a ten inch sub. It was packaged nice, it looked big and full of meat. Bonus there cause alot of places get skimpy, they sure don't. The inclusion of mayo was different but not bad, It gave an added butteriness to the overall flavor which was nice. The meat itself was seasoned, maybe a little over salty at first, but again, this sandwich was one that really grows on you. The bread was soft, a little chewy but added to the texture to add another positive note. It was a sandwich so good, it was absolutely worth finishing. It's made me want to come back and try out a cold sandwich and even the Mexican food they have on the menu. I'm big on an Asada Burrito and they make one! So can't wait for the next time to come down and give them another try!
