Old school cash register versus the electronic touch screens that most restaurants and bars use.
    Richard H.

Stopped by on Mother's Day while waiting for some Thai take out located around the corner and wanted to cool my jets with a draft of Trumer Pils. Solid Austrian brew previously made in Berkeley but understand they moved the brewing and distribution to Paso Robles. Spotted the logo merchandise and purchased the cap pictured since I do a fair amount of traveling for work. Gotta mix up my merch since I seem to always promote Original Joes. Justin who I met previously when George was working greeted my son and I warmly and our 2 drafts were $7 each. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is definitely a "Neighborhood Bar" where like at Original Joes everyone will know your name.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

First and foremost, the bartenders and brothers are awesome. The people and company are big reasons why I would be a returning customer. They were super nice and treated everyone including newbies like myself with warm welcomes and even the ritual fare-the-well! I am pretty sure I replied with thanks and farewell too. It leaves me with a warm feeling in my tummy, just like pizza, or drinks. So I'm happy to return. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Oh, as for vibes, it was packed![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Local school teams were represented with the helmet display, so represent![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They're famous mural is also a must-see.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]No matter how much time passes this neighborhood bar always feels good to come back to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We don't live close by which is why we don't frequent it more often but this is the kind of bar you wish was in your neighborhood. Great selection of libations with locals that are friendly in an institution that's classy and timeless. Had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners/bartender, Justin, who was terrific. Just an all around good time with great drinks, and wonderful people.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place to catch a Niner game!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't think I've ever gone to a bar that cares more about their regulars/locals. The staff/team are so thoughtful and kind to everyone who stops in. They also have very cute merch. The pricing on drinks is definitely more than fair. Definitely a new favorite spot.

I like this spot. The bartenders are chill and let you bring in your own food. It is a quiet spot with regulars. They play the game on the big screen when it is on and there's a pool table at the back, as well as an outside patio at the back. It's a good spot to unwind and chill away for a bit

Beer and pool... what could be better.

Unless maybe if you're not a local regular customer. As a non-local, I came upon it as I was walking on Taraval all the way from Ocean Beach. The first time I visited, I was looking to wet my whistle without resorting to booze. The bartender happily complied by pouring me a Diet Coke. I felt badly I didn't order a proper stiff drink, so I tried to make up for it in the tip. Months later, I found myself returning on a rather nippy afternoon. As luck would have, just as I took a seat at the bar (and not the one shaped like a concave set of cheeks), I saw a hand drawn chalkboard advertising "Tito's Borghetti Espresso Martinis $12". Yep, that was it for me (Photo 7). The Tito's brand really made the difference, especially the Caffè Borghetti Espresso Liqueur. Very smooth with just the right amount of kick. Meanwhile, the true regulars were socializing with each other like an episode of "Cheers". I just need to take a long ride on the L-Taraval MUNI line to get here. Gee, maybe I could become a non-local regular. I was still a bit hungry and my bf ordered me the fried artichokes and the chicken basket but I think since it was such a madhouse, they forgot. Looking forward to trying them next time though! They were attentive with keeping our tables clear of empty glasses, plates etc. Everyone on staff seemed friendly and it was a cool place to hang with everyone and watch the game. At Foghorn, you have the option to go all flats or all drummettes but what makes this a 5 star business? * Open all day for those who eat at odd hours like at 3 pm. * Shout out to Mary Grace for the wonderful hospitality. She was friendly, warm, and attentive, anticipating our needs by providing takeout containers, bags, and even a small bag for our leftover sauces. She also offered my doggies water. * Over a dozen wing flavors: Buffalo, Nashville Hot, BBQ, Dry Spice, Ghost Glaze, Jamaican Jerk, Pineapple Basil, Honey Crunch, General Tso's, and more. Wings come in set of five for $9.50, +$1 if you want all flats or all drummettes. - We ordered Pineapple Basil, Nashville Hot, Jamaican Jerk, and General Tso's ($9.50 x4) - wings were hot, crunchy, and juicy with the pineapple basil (sweet, herbaceous) and nashville hot (a creeper) being the favs. - Don't sleep on the sides! The fries ($6) were golden and crunchy with a light, fluffy interior, and the coleslaw ($5) was fresh and crisp, tossed in a bright, tangy vinaigrette. * Wings Wednesdays (5 pm - 6 pm): 50 cent wings w/ purchase of a drink. Wings come as a set of five with 10 wings max per drink order. * Not a beer drinker? They have low abv cocktails made from low proof vodka, tequila, etc. Not the usual sweet wine, sherry, or vermouth. * TVs to watch the game with hip hop bumping in the background. * Dog-friendly!

Her service, attention, and friendliness are consistently stellar; it's the kind of hospitality that makes you feel genuinely welcomed every time you walk in. Kelley is fantastic at helping with recommendations, whether we're trying something new or just can't decide. She also has an incredible sense for timing, especially with kids at the table. She makes a point to get their orders in quickly, which helps ward off delays (and the occasional hangry moment), and that level of awareness does not go unnoticed. Above all, what really stands out, beyond the great dining experience, is that Kelley remembers us. In a busy neighborhood spot, that personal touch means a lot and keeps us coming back. Do you love double-layered tortillas around your super-meaty tacos? Well, then Underdogs Too is your kinda place! =). A Nick's Way Taco is a taco with a crispy corn tortilla wrapped in a soft corn tortilla with Monterey Jack cheese, pinto beans, pico de gallo & guacamole. I ordered two tacos "Nick's Way" . The first was a regular Pollo taco (grilled chicken) and the other was a Pollo Asado taco (shredded chicken raised by local provider Mary's Chicken). Both tacos came with a lot of pico de Gallo, and a HUGE dollop of Guacamole! After trying both of the tacos back to back, I think I'll go back for the regular Pollo (grilled chicken) version, as I found it more tasty.. PRO TIP: These little tacos are very filling! Next time, I'll just order just one for lunch - that's plenty, unless I was absolutely starving.... I first experienced these tacos when they had a booth at a local street fair, and was happy to happen upon this little corner of 46tj/Taraval way out here on the farthest Avenues in the Outer Sunset. Despite its proximity to the Ocean just a couple of blocks down the street, we visited here on a warm day to again savor this special style of taco. Worth coming back for sure. GETTING HERE: Easy transit access via the L Taraval Light Rail line which stops just across the street. Parking is relatively doable if you are willing to walk a block (worst case).
