They sent me text remembers a few days before and the morning of so I made sure I was there. With my hectic schedule that came in super handy much appreciated. My hair cut was one of the best I have ever had and I get cut every 3 week so I have had a lot of cuts in my years. The products they use are all amazing and I ended up getting everything used on my hair. Joe was super professional diligent about my cut he explained everything and I am super happy about the level of service he provided. Phil's Barbershop is inside J Salon, which already has amazing reviews, and they are accurate. The location is great, tons of parking, and the Salon itself is very clean line and modern. The staff at J/Phil's are beautiful. I mean really you walk in and everyone is dressed impeccably, hair styed, makeup on fleek, and you can just tell this is where you'd want to come to have services for your hair. The decor in Phil's is a bit different from Jsalon, a bit old timey and hipstery and really goes with the feel of an italian-american's barbershop. There's a great view onto the lanai and some great atmospheric Sinatra playing. However you aren't coming here for the view, you're here to get faded up and that is what you'll get. I always come to Joe and he is an incredible stylist. He listens to my concerns every time and works with my wants and needs to give me a great cut. Joe is a professional and hires professionals. There is a 1 star review on here and I hate calling people out but really? Do you have such a weak personality you can't tell a barber who is there to do a service for you that you don't want a certain style? Barbers will work with you. I've sat next to Hunter before and heard him give a consult. He is a great barber and doesn't deserve to have his name drug through the mud by some shitty Yelp bully. Came in here because my usual barber was just a bit too far of a drive. I was able to make a same day appointment with the online platform, it was extremely easy. I opted for a cut and massage. Have not had my hair cut like this in a long time, Monet did an excellent job. He explained the purpose of each product he was using quite well; on top of giving me a stellar cut. I have been in search for a quality barber on the aina for years. After going to Phil's, the staff and lead barber Joe, were fantastic. Great location and easy to find. I highly recommend going here if you want a quality haircut at a fair price. It's definitely a little more on the pricy side, but you won't be disappointed. They offer straight razor shaves and massages as well. My cut came out exactly how I wanted, it's typically more difficult to cut my hair due to the thinness. My girlfriend booked me an appointment here after trying for months to get a haircut. I have been growing it out since I moved hear almost one year ago and it was in need for a cut. My appointment was with Monet who was new to the island as well. The shop itself has a great vibe to it and is very relaxing. I got there a little after 4pm and was seated right away for my appointment. After discussing how I wanted my hair cut and styled Monet did not disappoint. His skills are legit and my haircut was great! I asked about doing my beard and he said I only had a appointment for a haircut but did manage to trine the beard which was more than I expected! A friend needed a fade and trim on his beard . First you step into a very nice two seat room . Great music with very nice vintage wall photos . My friend barber not sure of his name . Was very knowledgeable he could even ten when he had his last cut and how he usually trims his beard ! I was like WOW so on point . Great attention to detail . I think you need an appointment but not too sure . Super nice tight fade on my homie . If I didn't just got a cut I would of asked if the had time for me . Lots of free parking as well . Amazing service and what a transformation! I gave a gentleman's shave and cut to my husband for Christmas (his hair was grown out nearly to his shoulder and untamed- not that I minded lol) however he wanted to clean up his look for the new year. Hunter was excellent! My husband spoke of how relaxing and nice the whole experience was, with the sented hot and cold towels, the straight edge shave and no pressure to hold up small talk if he wasn't feeling it. I would like to thank Joe and his staff for an awesome experience. I explained to Joe that I didn't have much knowledge as to how to achieve that perfect style for me. I did needed a more professional look. Prior to the hair cut my hair looked very thin all over the place with different lengths especially on top. Mainly from going to chain haircut places, I got a different cut every time but I wanted consistency. I explain that to Joe and he scheduled a planned time line with the right products to achieve that goal and style. He took his time to really educate me on what my particular hair will need and how to style it. When my haircut was finished I notice a significant difference and confidence.
