I had heard about this coffee from several people but they don't serve espresso drinks, which is usually a hard pass for this latte girl. Really good cold brew (this was my first time ever trying Philz even though I know they're a chain). Loved the honey haze with oat milk! I need to come back to try their lattes. Randomly stopped in to do some work and a nice chill cafe. I've never been to Philz but always wanted to check it out. Walking in it was super clean and everything was in place. They played the best music so I was totally vibing! Staff were so sweet and pleasant which added to the ambiance of this location. I'm not big on coffee anymore but they had really great selections to choose from. I opted to try the iced mint mojito coffee. I got the classic black coffee. The waiting line is super long that I waited over 10 mins. On top of that, I waited over 15 mins to get a simple black coffee. I have to ask the staff two times to check my order status. I understand they are busy but why it takes that long for a simple black coffee?? If you love coffee, definitely check out Philz. As others have mentioned, they do have a more limited menu. However, quality definitely beats quantity. I tried the Tesoro, which is a medium blend with a nice caramel undertone. My friends ordered the iced Rosé coffee, and it sounds (and looks!) good. There is also a limited food menu, but the breakfast burritos are yummy and filling! I definitely can't wait to go back and try other blends. Highly disgusted. My friend and I decided to try out there coffee for the first Time. To see what was the hype about yesterday morning. I've drunk it. An it was okay But I never thought to check the inside or swerl a spoon around it just to mixed the flavor like I normally would do. I drunk the coffee Half way thru I went to pour out the remaining of the coffee that was left I see this nasty piece of which looks like a sponge I called addressed the problem. You literally can NEVER go wrong with going to Philz. The service is pretty much always friendly, and the drink options they have are pretty unique and inclusive of most taste buds. If you knew the real story behind Philz and how they came to be, you'd be really appreciative of them expanding to Chicago recently. I'm from California so I've been used to Philz for quite a while now, but having Philz out here makes me happy. I recently ordered their Iced Mint Mojito and was very impressed with the taste. So happy that Philz Coffee made a move in the Midwest! I've craved the mint mojito iced coffee some the last time I was visiting California. The baristas were very kind and friendly. The cafe itself is located in a very walkable area, with that said there isn't much street parking so we did a quick run in and just put our hazards on in the little cul de sac. **This review is for the Thursday soft opening** I work in the area and decided to stop by to check out Philz for the soft opening. A roommate of mine gifted me some beans from Philz last year and I loved them but until today I had never been inside one of their locations. I didn't know what to expect but I was thoroughly impressed. Philz is a different kind of coffee shop experience. It's a coffee-forward, barista-forward place. Rather than serving espresso drinks, Philz has a variety of different coffee blends with recommended ways to drink (medium cream, add honey, etc.). You walk up to the barista counter to place your order instead of at the cash register. I have to say that I loved this aspect! The baristas here are incredibly warm and inviting. They are happy to discuss your tastes and preferences, giving recommendations for blends and styles. Not only is this super helpful but it encouraged warm interaction. I felt welcomed rather than like a coffee-illiterate nuisance (which other coffee shops have made me feel like!). After you speak with a barista to place your order, head over to the register to pay. It was packed, which is to be expected for a soft opening. The surprise, however, was how quick and friendly the service was before they're even open. I was expecting a long wait but I was up to the barista counter very quickly. I'm so thrilled this Philz is in the neighborhood and I'm excited to stop by again. read more

Literally my favorite coffee shop now. Not only is their space super nice with plenty of seating for doing work, but the coffee is absolutely delicious. I've gotten the mojito and rosé and both are so good. My favorite is the rosé so far. Definitely get both the house way- sweet and creamy is the way to go. I've also tried the Philz bagel which was pretty good. Cream cheese, cucumbers and tomatoes- a very filling breakfast. It comes on an everything bagel but you can substitute with another bagel type if you wish. They were also giving out samples of their avocado toast which has slices of hard boiled egg on it- also delicious. Ordering is a bit different- you order at the counter first where the baristas will make your drink. Then you go to the register to pay. Ive been here 2 times already and staff is always super friendly even at 7am on a Saturday. It definitely gets super crowded and loud during peak hours which just speaks to how popular this place is. Always a good experience at this location. I sometimes order in the app when I'm in a time crunch and need to grab and go; and I sometimes do work here when in between things. They have taken COVID precautions seriously, as well, which I appreciate. Dancing waters is my favorite coffee - hot or iced. They have great coffee in general, though. The breakfast items are also tasty. Customer service always friendly here. They do make each coffee to order, so if you're in a rush, I would order through the app. Otherwise, be sure to build in a few minutes to your wait time, as it can get busy at peak times and it's not just filling up a cup like most places. read more

The BEST Philz Coffee I had so far! I am from NYC so I am going to miss coming here. The interior design is so pretty. There is a wall mural near the back that is so beautiful. It can get really crowded during the day so it is a bit hard to find seats. I ordered the Iced Coffee Rosé and Chocolate Croissant and it was soooo delicious. We actually got the same items at another Philz Coffee location and it wasn't as good as this one! I definitely recommend making a stop here for breakfast if you are in the area. If we're driving, we'll pull into the little driveway next door and do a quick pick up. Once I arrive the drink is usually ready on time sitting on the table. You simply walk in and grab the one with your name. I love Philz! I'm not a big black coffee drinker, so my go to items are the Mocha (hot or iced) and the Mint Mojito (iced). Their drinks are always consistent and delicious. The experience and taste is high quality in my opinion. If I went more frequently I'd probably stick with a simple Tesora, but since I go about once a month or less I like to treat myself and get the speciality drinks -- creamy cream and medium sweet! To save money, if my husband and I are in a similar mood, we'll pick a drink we both like and share a large instead of getting 1 small & 1 medium; that makes it about half the cost! read more

I love how smooth the coffee is :) the iced mint mojito coffee was great! I got it less sweet but honestly I think it wouldn't be overly sweet without any adjustments. The wifi is good so you can definitely get work done, and there are a lot of seats. At the time I was there, it was a bit too cold (it's also hot outside so makes sense) but definitely a great place to get work done :) there is actually quite a bit of free 2-hour parking in the area too. I've heard of Philz Coffee because I have friends that live in San Francisco and they're all bragging about how good this place is. I finally checked it out and I must say it's delicious! I love coffee and I must say that Philz Coffee did not disappoint I mean from the name itself I already love it duh :-) I ordered the Philtered Soul which is a hazelnut flavored drink with chocolate and it was delicious and some chocolate croissant to add with it. Sometimes I like to sit at coffee shops to get some work done, I wanted to go to a different coffee shop that's not your big name coffee shops like "Starbucks" so that's one of the reasons why I have to check this place out. I already felt a nice calm feeling just by coming it has that "neighborhood" vibe. Comfortable seats and fast wifi as well.
