This time I went to Philz to try the new Honey Hazy drink which is probably one of my most favorites on the coffee snob drink list I have created. The cashier was so kind and she was explaining to me about the drink and what was in it because I only heard about the drink but didn't know which coffee blend it had inside. One of my favorite Philz locations! Staff are always friendly, clean, good ambiance, has a parking lot, and my drink is always 10/10 and the taste is consistent, which is rare with coffee places. My go-to order is an iced oatmeal cookie (extra sweet extra creamy) and a plant based sandwich. Note that if you plan to come here to study or get work done, it might be challenging to find a table (seems to be busy at all times) and outlet, (I only noticed 4 in different parts of the shop). read more

Finally having Philz Coffee in the bay after 6 months of living here. I would get Philz Coffee back in SoCal and knew why it was so popular. After all this time, I forgot what it tasted like so was excited to be back. As I arrived, I was greeted. I was looking at the menu for a while trying to decide what to get and the cashier told me she can help me at the register. I was still looking at the menu and told her I've been here before but it's been a long time so I didn't know what to get. I was hoping she would help me decide and give maybe her suggestions but I was really stuck and quickly picked something as someone started to line up behind me. I got the mocha tesora which was actually very good and I now remember why everyone is obsessed with Philz Coffee!! The lady making drinks even said she can make adjustments after trying. But the way it came out was perfect and the taste was addicting. Lots of space to sit down and makes a good study spot. One of my go-to spots for coffee! I finally left a review because they finally have a new item off the menu - turkey pesto sandwich. The food came out piping hot which burned the roof of my mouth. Couple bites in, I noticed the bottom burnt and the bread on top was overly crunchy (to the point it was not edible). The flavors were kinda bland and I only had a couple bites before throwing it away. Again, it was over toasted to the point where the bread was NOT edible. I'll stick to the coffee. read more

Generally good coffee and nice staff at this location. Broader feedback is the cups they use at most locations which leak at the bottom which leave coffee rings everywhere. I'm guessing the cups are better for the environment but they are annoying to your customers and will end up using more resources to clean up (paper towels, water/cleaner). I would urge them to use regular cups that don't leak. read more

The most convoluted coffee order ever. Ordered a coffee and cookie and somehow had get in line twice at the counter to get my order. Staff had wonderful singing voice yet unfortunately not wonderfully helpful, could not find any info on the types of coffee served, which I remember Philz being famous for this. I like this particular location because it's close to my house but 20 minute wait for coffee and no outlets really turns me off about coming here. Not to mention some of the workers are really rude. There's one girl that makes me cringe when I see her because her attitude is terrible and the way she talks to customers is as if they've ruined her day. I walked in and ordered a Mocha Tesora with a brownie. I suddenly had a craving for a cup of Mocha Tesora. Just like other Philz Coffee locations I have been to, staff members are friendly and service is always good. One thing I always like about Philz? Came to this location with my boyfriend because we both needed a quick fix of energy after a long day of work and a dinner to look forward to celebrating my grandma's birthday right after. Unfortunately they were out of stuff for mint mojitos so we ended up trying new drinks. I got a cold brew (Philtered Soul) and my boyfriend tried the Chai for the first time (I used to get that as my hot drink alternative when I wasn't getting mint mojitos -- it wasn't new to me). Both drinks were made quickly as we were in and out of the shop in less than 5 minutes despite there being lots of people in the shop at the time (at least in my opinion since it was around 5:30PM). Surprise, surprise! A Philz magically popped onto the "Target parking lot". I'm always loving the vibes at any Philz, and here is no different. Everything is so clean and the furniture is so NEW. Ordered a iced mint mojito and a green chili breakfast burrito. Same great taste as all the other spots! There's a good amount of parking spots on this side of the lot. Theres also designated spots for mobile pick ups. The music is loud, but the playlist is a good one! Just be prepared to take your call outside if you need to make one. The staff is so friendly. When I ordered my breakfast burrito, the guy came outside to the patio to hand it to me. There's not too many outlets, but you can totally enjoy your coffee and charge your laptop for a bit inside then head outside to the side patio and get some fresh air. I'll be back! read more

There is a lot of indoor and outdoor seating for people who like to chill and work on their laptops. I always order an ecstatic, iced, light - sweet and creamy. Coffee is usually almost always on point. But the food is always a miss.. I give 4 stars for the coffee and 1 star for the food I tried to give it another shot, the ancho chili burrito, and maybe it's just my order, coincidentally.. every-time.. but they're burrito seems to always have a part where the tortilla is hard as a rock.. I asked to have it extra toasted cause a few times I've gotten them it came out cold, but this burrito's tortilla was all around hard. So I asked if I can get another and I was told I shouldn't ask for extra toasted, but I let her know there's been times where the regular toast didn't cook my burrito all the way through.. seems like it's a toaster/timing kinda problem, or maybe it's just my specific burrito. i've been coming to this location since they first opened and the drinks are always a hit or miss. the environment is also not very welcoming. you won't be acknowledged by any of the baristas. when i order sweet sweetness, it's overpoweringly sweet. so i explained that to the cashier and she said we could do medium sweet + sugar, to which the drink turned out perfect. i've used "medium sweet + sugar" for the rest of my visits here. but 90% of the time, it ends up tasting so watered down. like water with a splash of milk/coffee. i don't know what it is. as a long time philz coffee goer, other locations and their baristas ask you to try your drink to see if any adjustments need to be made. i noticed that they've never asked at this colma location, so it makes me feel bad to have ask them to add more sugar. but i'm not paying $5+ just for my coffee to taste like water so i bought coffee through the app today. came to pick it up, but it wasn't ready yet. about 5 minutes later, i got and tried the drinks to make sure i wasn't leaving with watered down coffee. i had to ask for more sugar in one of them (my partner's drink, he normally just orders medium) and the barista seemed so annoyed. :-( i felt so bad just asking. she said "next time ask for medium + sugar." so passive aggressively! i really wanted to say that i do, but it usually ends up tasting like water so idk how to order anymore lol tl;dr just go to peet's or any other coffee shop... or make sure you always try your coffee before you leave philz read more

Was driving my wife to work and we decided to get some Philz coffee. Arrived 9:00am to order Silken Splendor and Julie's Ultimate. While waiting, my Wife called to check in and realized 20 mins had passed. So I checked in with the barista and they said they were just making my order. Once I received my drink, I immediately left because I was in a hurry and within my drive to her work; my wife said her drink was cold. Disappointed but shocked, I called and requested for a refund for the Julie's Ultimate and explained why. While they were processing the refund, the employee I spoke with on the phone said my name popped up from Walnut Creek branch. Confused, I clarified with her that my receipt says Colma-Philz. And it was less than an hour ago. In the end, she said my name appeared and she is processing my refund. Hopingmy refund goes through. read more

I miss the Mission location. For some reason, the Mission location is the only place that has made Mint Mojito the perfect tasting experience! This location in Daly City is close to my house, but their Mint Mojito is not always a hit. Drinks were made quickly, but make sure you order through their app to skip the wait. After a *very* disappointing experience yesterday at a different location (sign up at Chase Center location saying they would close at 12:30 when they normally close at 6pm, but still they wouldn't serve me when I went in at 12:05), today's trip to the Colma location made up for it. I strayed from my usual orders (Silken Splendor and Dancing Water) and decided today to try the Ambrosia, creamy and medium sweetness. Cashier with the cool tattoos was very kind, and my coffee was made freaking PERFECTLY by the guy working at the middle of the coffee bar (Tasche? Stache? I'm sorry, i meant to remember your name!). So much so that, my husband - who swore he didn't want a coffee - wouldn't stop taking sips out of it after I let him try it in the car. I think i'll be getting Ambrosia from now on, after years of being faithful to those other two kinds. I used to feel a little sad about Philz going the way of Blue Bottle and "selling out" and getting all popular. I was introduced to it at the original location in the Mission by SFFD when I was training as an EMT many moons ago. But after today's experience I can confidently say I am very glad that there's one next to my favorite Target. I'm glad that this shopping center keeps adding more and more reasons for me to visit more frequently. I've never encountered an unkind employee at any location thus far, so that's something.
