    American Omelette(~12)(03/26)
    Andrew Y.

Stumbled upon this neighborhood mom and pop cafe as I was finishing up some grocery shopping nearby in the morning. You order and pay at the counter and they'll bring you your dish if you want to dine in. There is metered street parking at the front, but you can find residential parking on the side streets. The ambiance of the cafe was simple, warming and welcoming; a quiet and relaxing vibe. Service overall was great and dish came out decently fast. They cleaned up pretty quickly as well when a table was finished. I wanted something a bit light so I opted for: 1) American Omelette(6.5/10)(~$12) - A decent and light breakfast plate. The omelette was a thin egg omelette a bit of a departure from your usual diner fare. The ham wasn't diced either, it was just 1-2 deli sliced ham placed in between with your choice of cheese(provolone, cheddar or swiss). For sides, you can either get a salad or potatoes. I went with the potatoes and they were grilled really well and seasoned just right. It also came with a sliced wheat bread. It was an okay dish, but if you want something more filling, I would try something else. 2) Drip Coffee(Small)(7/10)($2.75) - Just your usual house coffee. Overall, taste was good without it being overly bitter. A adequate cup of coffee that will wake you up in the morning. Price was very reasonable as well. 3) Pupusas(5.5/10)($4.50) - I ordered a pupusa to go as I wanted to give it a try for lunch. It was an okay pupusa; I ordered the chorizo one....but couldn't really find it in the pupusa when I got home. Just refried beans. It was freshly made though since it took awhile to get it. The pupusas aren't on the menu in the cafe, but it is written on the board outside. It came with a bag of mild salsa and a bag veggies on the side. Overall, I've had better pupusas on the Mission and would skip this. A decent neighborhood spot to grab a quick bite if in the area!

Had to move my car for street cleaning this morning and decided to get some avocado toast $6.50. Fog City Cafe's avocado toast doesn't come with an egg or house potatoes $4.50. I ordered the potatoes but forgot about the egg. This tasted OK while they didn't actually serve me "toast." It was white bread, untoasted, served with avocado slices, tomato and arugula lettuce. Avocado toast tastes better if the avocado was mashed or made into guacamole. Knowing I would be hungry later, I also got a grilled cheese sandwich $4. This was good. There's a choice of cheddar or Swiss cheese. This dish would be great with tomato soup but not available here. My food came out in 10 minutes after ordering at 10am on a Thursday.

The food is delicious, home made feel but up to par to any restaurant style breakfast! Service is great quick and friendly. Ambiance is homey yet modern café style. Clean and spacious. Overall great experience and surprising experience!

What a cute little cafe! Visited for the first time on a Friday morning, and it wasn't bustling as others have noted (could be due to not being the weekend?), so I was helped right away. Located in a rather dense part of Daly City, but with a little effort, you can find a spot to park. NOTE: There are meters on Mission Street that only take quarters! You order at the counter, then take a seat. Nice variety on the menu, both breakfast and lunch items (eggy thangs & goodness between bread). A couple of Latin items. A small choice of baked goods and a self-serve water station. Ordered "The Scrambled" w/ ham and cheddar, potatoes... no choice on toast, just straight unbuttered wheat, so you'll need to request butter if you want some. Also got a large latte which was delicious! Everything was brought to me, which was nice. Only saw one staffer up front (they weren't busy), and she was super friendly and upbeat. Can't believe I haven't been here before, but I will be back as I'd like to try the Baleada, which is egg, bean, and cheese in a tortilla... simple, but looks tasty. Also, prices were very reasonable! Go, go, GO!

Fog City Cafe is such a hidden gem in Daly City, a true hole in the wall that feels like your friendly neighborhood mom and pop spot. Definitely one of my favorite places to grab breakfast. Their coffee menu has all the usuals you expect from a good cafe, and everything I have tried has been solid. They also have fun specialty drinks like horchata frappes, but I usually stick to a latte, and it always hits the spot. I have made my way through a few things on the menu like the French toast, enchilada breakfast plate, California sandwich which are all really good. But my personal favorite is the egg panini. The ambience is warm and laid back, with a few tables for dining in. It's not too hard to grab a seat. Parking is street parking, but I have never had trouble finding a spot. Overall, a great local spot for breakfast or brunch, and one I keep coming back to. Highly recommend!

Hope its not a weird combo but I'm weird & hungry. I was searching a place that had avo toast & oatmeal. And I was scrolling on Doordash, being indecisive & i found a place that had what I was looking for.....(drumroll), Fog City Cafe! The picture provided for Oatmeal didnt look appetizing but I was hoping for the best. As for avocado toast, I need to have tomatoes on mine & egg. When it arrived, and opened it up a chorus was singing in my head w/ such glory. Oatmeal- hot, touch of sweetness w/honey provided & strawberries, banana, raisins. Avocado toast w/ shredded greens, sliced grape tomatoes and I ordered a side of egg that was perfectly cooked & i topped that on the toast. When i took a bite it was soo savory due to the runny yoke so satisfying!!! It kinda reminded me of that scene in Spanglish when Adam Sandler made a sandwich w/the runny egg yolk but he never got a chance to eat it, sad moment. But i will order this again, soo yum & comforting.

Stumbled across this place with my friend and it was a great spot to eat and do some work at. Theres a lot of seats with outlets and also a couch. The food was a good portion and definitely will be coming back. The servers also brought the food to our table which I thought was a really nice touch!

I have been here about 4 times since 2019. The food and coffee is great. I've tried the baleadas and enchiladas, and they've been really good. The staff are nice. However, it can get pretty busy.

It's just that good I felt the need to let everyone know again haha! The best parts of fog city are the service, they are always super nice and cool to everyone, the food has such good flavor and looks great, and its in a nice spot, my love and I usualy find parking pretty fast. The coffe is cool too, im not to picky myself but its not bad! :) Come eat here its yummy you wont be bummed on your experience!

Absolutely delicious food. Not only do they great customer service but their food is well seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Great spot for a quick breakfast! I order to go because we had a busy morning and the food was still warm when I picked it up. This was my first time trying a Baleada definitely worth your money if you're on a tighter budget. You get a bite of egg, bean, cheese that's really filling .

Once upon a time (give or take 2-3 years ago), this charming and cozy lil cafe with the cool artwork peppering the walls and the engaging tunes pumping from the speakers used to be a pleasant place to walk into early in the morning. not sure what happened between then and my most recent visit a few weeks ago but it was pretty disappointing in that tables were left unwiped and littered with food chunks and my go-to egg panini was rendered into something mid from its formerly lofty place of sublime breakfast sandwiches. the sauce in the panini wasn't as piquant, the bread less pillowy, my hot cocoa was barely lukewarm and the service was just as perfunctory. I'll have to re-visit and hope it all changes because it used to be such a local hidden gem.

Great place, mellow music, quiet happy vibe, lots of food choices. Fast service, nice to eat here.

Good service and ambiance. The space is modern, aesthetic, and clean. They also have a mocktail menu with lots of options. I ordered the Mango "A-Go-Go" Thai Tea, which was refreshing and not overly sweet. The food presentation was beautiful. I got the Hat Yai Fried Chicken & Waffles. I liked it, but I wish the chicken had been crispier and the waffle had been served hotter. We also ordered the Sweet Corn cake & Crab Benedict, which was creative and interesting. But I think I still prefer a more classic crab cake benedict. I did enjoy the subtle Thai-inspired touches on the brunch items, like the peanut-y sauce served beneath the vegetables with the benedict. While the food didn't quite live up to the hype I had in mind for a Michelin-recommended restaurant, I still really enjoyed brunch here. I'd give 4.3/5 stars if i could. I'd be open to coming back to try their dinner items, which seems pretty promising.
