ahhhh mazing. easy parking, easy ordering and multiple seats. The weather is breezy and fabulous. cant complain! Came for breakfast and coffee with the dad. The bagel has a heat kick so don't get it if you can't handle it. i stop here before work for my morning coffee and service is pretty quick! even though their menu isn't extensive, i love that all of their lattes are creative flavors and tasteful, esp the seasonal ones :-) i especially love that they are flexible let you bring a reusable cup to reduce waste, and you get a bit of a discount if you use it! read more

We tried Philz Coffee's signature iced mint mojito, and it was light and refreshing. You can just barely taste the coffee as the cream and mint flavors overpower it. We also had the sweetness level adjusted from two tablespoons of brown sugar to one tablespoon. We had a medium-sized drink. The only downside with this Philz Coffee location is that the parking lot is so tiny. read more

Found this place on a whim since other restaurant wait lists were so long. The coffee was really good. We got the iced and warm Mocha Tesora, blueberry muffin, and a ham & egg burrito = $20. We were quite taken aback of how tiny the burrito was, especially being in a college like neighborhood. Service was standard. The tables weren't cleaned in between customers (we found our table with lots of crumbs, so we wiped the table after ourselves when we left for courtesy). Would recommend this place. read more

For many of our NorCal transplants, Philz is one place where you can get a small, trendy piece of the Bay in a cup. But having visited up north to compare myself, there a few subtle things that are a bit different, some for better and some for worse. Philz has become more franchised over the years, which has been made more evident in Southern California. Whereas one of the quintessential spots in SF has mellowed colors this location has open windowed walls on three sides that extenuate the SoCal weather and vibe. The menus above the baristas and around in key locations are also nicely manicured. Heck, even their own mobile app is touched up! None of these are inherently bad things. In fact, they're all smart improvements. It does take away from a more classic local coffee shop feel and pushing toward more a Starbucks corporate feel, but I'd be lying if I didn't say I enjoy the standardization of both product and shop front as well to ensure a more consistent experience. The luke warm review is more due to the uncovered seating on the sides as days as summer gets hotter each year and lack of inside seating during the rainy season. It may be just me, but the mint mojitos compared to the original at this Orange location seem sweeter than ones in the SF location, a sweetness that tends to under cut the mint. Can't wait to see the hate comments on that critique! There is a small parking lot in front with lots of side parking. If you don't mind a bit of a walk (Orange Circle is a great place to explore) there are other lots in the area as well. read more

This is my first time leaving a 1 star review. This was easily the worst Philz I've been to----and I've been going to Philz for over 10 years (at least 8 locations in NorCal and SoCal). What a disappointment because Philz usually is very good. We were there on 12/27/22. We ordered two Mint Mojitos (house special) and the same barista made it. One was super plain and the other was super bitter. What happened with this location? read more

Not sure what's happened to this location but I've been frequenting this Philz (and others, like Costa Mesa and Fullerton) the last 3 years, but lately this store has been off. I've seen new faces so I'm unsure if new employees are still being trained but the drinks have been bad the last 2 times I've been to this location. Last time, I got a Mocha Tesora and it just had huge clumps of cocoa powder. Undrinkable. They remade it and it was slightly better but still no where near the quality that I'm used to at Philz. We gave them another shot today. Same drink, house way, and it was not creamy or sweet, with little to no cocoa. This is the closest one to me but I don't think I'll be returning to this location unless things go back to normal. read more

There's small lots in the area, street parking, or metered parking in some areas in Orange and then you can walk over. This Philz location is so cute! I'd recommend ordering through the app ahead of time so it's ready when you arrive, but they can process payment in person too. Seating is limited on the side of the building but they have a few bistro tables that you can grab if they're free. Service is typical Philz so 10/10. :) read more

Located in old town orange it may be hard to find parking. However they have a pick up spot where you can place your online order and quickly grab your coffee and move on with your day. My favorite drink to get here is the Mint Mojito. It is different from other places that offer a similar drink. I do have to say that lately the quality of the drink has gone down and it is not as good as I remember it. It feels more watered down and has been disappointing lately which makes me hesitant to swing by for it again. read more

I really really loved my drink! I like to get the "oatmeal cookie" drink which is perfectly sweet while still getting the solid coffee taste. This location had my drink ready for me early which was really nice considering I had a long day ahead. I didn't know there was a Philz coffee in the area until my friend suggested it. When we stopped by to grab the famous mint mojito coffees, it was pretty busy but luckily most people were socially distancing. Parking was definitely hard to find. The lot in front of the store is ten minute parking for mobile orders. My friend was able to find some street parking but it took a while to find it. The inside and outside of the shop is super cute! I appreciated all the decorations they had. The staff was super friendly. They had a table where they put the drink orders on. There were labels on the table from A-Z, so it was easy to find the drinks. Even though it was a little busy, the wait for the coffee wasn't long at all. The coffees were just as good as I remembered them being. I definitely recommending ordering on the app and placing a mobile order beforehand to get parking faster. read more

I happened to be in the area for the Yelp Elite Perk at The Pie Hole in old towne Orange; I was so happy to see a Philz Coffee across the street. I stopped by during my lunch break before heading over to the Yelp Elite Perk Event. I hadn't had my daily dose of caffeine yet so I was pretty excited about ordering a cup of Joe at Philz :) I was first introduced to Philz years ago while visiting a friend in San Francisco. The hype was real! Soon after, I learned there was a location in Huntington Beach where I'd grab a drink whenever I was in the area. According to their website, Philz Coffee has 60 locations spread throughout the San Francisco Bay Area, greater Los Angeles, San Diego, Washington, D.C., Sacramento, Maryland, Arlington, Virginia, and most recently in Chicago. This location in old towne Orange recently opened a few months ago (August 2020). Due to COVID, masks are required; the shop is set up as a hybrid indoor/outdoor operations. There is plexiglass at the cashier. The young woman who took my order was friendly and professional. You won't be picking up your drink from the counter as that area is blocked off - instead they'll bring it to the front table and your drink will be ready alphabetically by name. I ordered a small Tesora with almond milk. It was perfectly sweetened. If you've never been to Philz, the Tesora is usually recommended for first timers. AROMAS: Caramel, Nuts, Butter. ACIDITY: Medium. Tesora is not only the first blend made by Philz, but it is their quintessential blend. There were a few orders ahead but the wait wasn't too long. If you're in a hurry, I suggest ordering via the mobile app or phoning in your order. Everyone who knows me knows I'm a loyal fan of Starbucks but what I love about Philz is they have a process of personalizing the coffee. That means a visit to Philz Coffee is not like a quick stop at Starbucks. Each cup of coffee can take up to five minutes to brew. Prior to COVID, you would wait in line until you get to take your turn with one of the Philz baristas. It would be like going up to a personalized coffee window, tasting your drink, ask for suggestions, and make modifications - an extra shot, add cream, etc.. Due to COVID, this personalized process has been paused. With over 30 different roasts, Philz gives customers a reason to go back and try something new. They also offer an array of food items, desserts and baked goods. Parking is a limited as there are only a few spots in front of the shop. Prices are reasonable and service is personalized + exceptional. I definitely want to come back for more Philz and check out more of old towne Orange. read more

Excited that this location opened up closer to me! I was so used to driving to Fullerton so it's nice to have Philz closer. I usually order the mint mojito house sweet and creamy! I usually get less mint because too much of it gets my stomach upset. The drink itself is iced and super creamy with lots of ice. It is a minty iced coffee. Something about Philz that is cool is that all of their coffees are pour overs! Today I tried the mocha Tesora and it was really good! Look no more!! Never once have I been asked by a coffee employer if I wanted more coffee in my drink as I was taking out the ice. (Had a lot of ice) Every drink place now a days always puts a lot of ice so you have less of the drink itself. This place is different. They want the best when it comes to your drink and I noticed that the first time I came. Not only was I impressed with that but their customer service is amazing!! Wow. First timer to Philz Coffee and pour over coffee. A LIFE changing event! Seriously, this is probably one of the best coffee houses that I have ever visited and I highly recommend it to everyone. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is fast paced and business is good. The noise level is moderate, but you can still have a conversation at the table. If you are look for a quiet place to read or study, this probably isn't the one for you, but get a cup of coffee to go. You won't regret stopping. The only downside is they do not have a location is Las Vegas. read more

Excited to be first!! Great coffee, interesting and unique flavors. One free in the app today! You can edit the drinks in the app, and you have to order in the app today, in fact. The lines go fast and you wait until your time is called so it doesn't really matter if you are first in line. I think they screwed up from the time somehow because my pick up said 11:45 and I didn't get it until 11:53. I ordered at 11:30 so you need patience to come here today. ;) My Philharmonic came with medium cream and sugar and seemed to be on the darker roast which is not my fave but how can you complain when you get one free? It was also a bit too sweet. My mocha was smaller, rich and again a bit too sweet but I really liked the darker bitter mocha flavor so I would definitely order that again. There were a lot of people so it was difficult to get a photo without getting people in it. It's also the hottest day of the year thus far, it seems. The staff and customers were all really nice. I will try again on a less busy day! I was joy impressed when I tried this place in HB, but the design for this one is cool and the coffee is great. I've probably been to more coffee shops further and further from my home as work from home progresses and finally made it to Philz Coffee all the way in Orange. I love how convenient it is from ordering on the app to just showing up at the location and picking up the drink and driving off. My go-tos used to be the Mint Mojito, but ever since they came out with the Philtered Soul Cold Brew, this has been the only drink that I've gotten. I do want to explore more drinks on the menu, but I don't visit very often so I tend to stick with the same drinks. Price wise, Philz is definitely one of the more expensive spots so that limits how many times I visit as well. Hoping they can develop a reward system on their app soon which would incentivize me to visit more often! Will be back though. read more

I don't usually leave reviews, but the coffee here was so exceptionally terrible on multiple occasions, so I have to. Philz is one of the coffee spots I frequent the most, so I know what their coffee tastes like. It's usually great. I came in about a month ago and my coffee was SO acidic. I thought it must have been a fluke because I have had it so many times and it was always great. I go to other Philz locations and it's great. But the next two times I come to this spot and it's rancid. Beyond acidic. Usually, acidic coffee is a sign the beans are old. Totally inedible. I don't know what's going with this shop but I would avoid it. I've had acidic coffee here three-too-many times. read more

I had never been to a Philz before but had heard great things. Maybe one of the best drinks I have had in a while. I loved that they put lots of fresh mint leaves into the mint mojito coffee. Great service, great location! Right next to Chapman University in the Orange circle plaza. Fairly busy (8 customers waiting) but ordering ahead via mobile was super quick & easy. Came at the pickup time, unfortunately they dropped my drinks and they had to remake them. The people in front were very diligent & professional with the service. They apologized, gave me a new estimated time, and had small talk which made the wait a lot shorter. They even refunded the drinks they dropped (when I didn't even ask!). They definitely went above and beyond my expectations and I would recommend this location if anyone is around. Great job and keep up the good work!! read more

I like Philz but this location is difficult. I wouldn't frequent this place or recommend it. I wouldn't recommend to grab a coffee there specifically, you have to be wandering the area already. They have tiny parking lot like 6 spots that's supposed to be for mobile orders only yet I couldn't get parking there. I was able to circle the street, look and wait for other parking elsewhere, park, walk in and grab my drink and walk back out and all the same cars still sitting there! Obviously they were NOT MOBILE ORDERS! I WAS a mobile order, that had to search and park elsewhere and walk to pick up my order that's been ready sitting there all that time waiting for my to find parking. read more
