Hmmm pretty good! The long line kind of scared me when I dropped by in the afternoon sun, so I came back another time when it was cooler and found out that it's only 1 customer inside at a time, which is why it looks so long outside. Wait time is about 20 mins including placing order and getting your drinks. Salt bread is always out when I get to the front, so haven't been able to comment on that. Appreciated that the base is all oat milk here though! Strawberry coffee (very faint taste of strawberry) Blueberry coffee (delicious blueberry compote) Blueberry matcha (pretty good!) Hojicha banana coffee (unexpectedly delicious!) Guava matcha (pretty good!) Would be back to try other options available and recommend others to try as well.
Come in knowing what you want to order! The setup is pretty unique. you walk in, tell the barista your order first, and then head over to the cash register to pay. I actually thought the system was pretty dope and efficient. That said, I can definitely see how it could be frustrating if you're indecisive or it's your first time visiting, so I'd recommend looking at the menu beforehand if you can. I ordered the Matcha #2, and my husband got the Saigon Drip. Once your drink is ready, they hand it directly to you, which keeps the process moving. As for the drinks, they were just okay. The matcha wasn't anything too special. It leaned more on the watery side and reminded me a lot of Junbi's matcha. Not much matcha flavor. Considering the line, I was expecting a little more. My husband liked the Saigon Drip, but we both thought it tasted pretty similar to Lee's Coffee. It had a slight salty note, which we actually enjoy, but the coffee flavor itself wasn't as bold as we were hoping for. Overall, I'm glad we gave it a try, and the staff was really friendly. It was a fun experience but I personally don't think it's worth waiting in a long line for. I'd maybe come back, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice.

I guess a lot of people had the same idea to get their matchas before work lol. I got the Matcha Two and it was sooo good. Strong matcha flavor and love the lil matcha powder detail on top! I could see myself coming here before work more often. There's a lot of workers working hard to hand whisk the matchas and they're all super friendly!!

Super vibrant and the banana foam and toppings was a perfect pairing. The Korean Salt Bread was a wonderful snack, and resembled a bread/butter roll with extra salt. The workers were super nice even with a huge line. Can't wait to come back!

Their fruit matchas are super refreshing & the purées are fresh & not superficial tasting at all. Really looking to explore more of their drinks since they all look super yummy.

Simple menu items and tasteful drinks. Came by on a Wednesday around noon time. There was a line by the time we found parking. Only waited maybe 10 minutes before we got to order. I got to try their black sesame matcha. I'll say, I appreciate their line system so that orders will flow from order, make, and serve. After payment, waited maybe 5 minutes or so after paying for my beverage. Black sesame was unique and paired well with the matcha. The base oat milk was a great choice to complement the matcha. I might give one of their fruit matcha's a chance next time. read more

Just have to order the right thing...Right now I'm loving the coconut water matcha, which has two of my favorite things, and the matcha one which, by default, comes with oat milk. Anything with ice cream is just too extra for me read more

The wait for this matcha spot was around an hour on a random weekday morning. After trying the matcha, I can understand why. We tried the mango and blueberry matcha and they were both phenomenal, with real fruit flavors. The salt bread was also yummy read more

Went on a Friday afternoon and there was a line so hesitated on waiting, but the line moved rather quickly so don't let it detour you! From waiting to getting my drink, it took 15 minutes. I got the matcha two and the hojicha latte and they were both really good. There's not many coffee shops where I actually enjoy their matcha but this place actually has good smooth matcha with the perfect blend of sweetness and matcha flavor. That goes the same with the hojicha, many places have it too milky or watered down that you can't taste the tea, but they did their hojicha well too. Will definitely come back and try their other more unique combinations and standard coffee too! Plenty of parking as it's in a plaza but only downside is there's no seating for you to hang out while having your drink. read more
Soo popular even during a weekday theres a line. I think the wait took around 30 minutes and voicing others the drink does come out fast. Its a grab and go place, but theres just one little plaza parking which can be hard to have available spots sometimes. They handwhisk the matcha. The matcha is okay, Its not astrigent and bitter, but not high quality enough to drink plain with water and definitely suits more sweet drinks, has that milky texture with some savoury notes (matcha part just soso) The guava milk part of the drink was soo delicious and creamy, not sure how to put it but it was definitely my first time having like a guava custard flavored drink. So I'd recommend their mixed flavor drinks. read more
Finally! I got to try this coffee place! I have tried at least 5 times and all the times the line is at the end of the shopping center where it's located. I took my chances today being a Friday at 10 am to see if I got lucky. I saw a line but it was only like 10 people deep. So I stayed. This place is basically you order your drink and stand outside and wait for it. It doesn't have seating tables . That's probably why the line moves kind of fast. The ladies at the counter and at the register are very friendly and keep the line going pretty good. I ordered the banana coffee with cream tools and it was delicious. I wish they had a bigger size of it. They only have one size. The drink was the perfect consistency of coffee and sweetness. It was so tasty. Definitely coming back but during the week. read more
Ok so I've heard a lot of good things about this place so I was really excited to try it! It was such a tough decision choosing which matcha to order since they have so many different flavors, including guava and black sesame which both sound incredible! First off, I want to say that the service was great! 10/10! The people taking my order were so nice and they even brought my drink outside for me. I opted for the banana matcha because I love banana matcha and I've seen people post about it online. To be completely honest I thought it was just okay. I mean the matcha was good, but I actually didn't really like the banana foam by itself. For example, I love Taty's banana cream and could eat that stuff by the spoonful. However, when I mixed it in the matcha it tasted much better for some reason. The toffee bits also add a nice crunch. Overall I'd give it a 6.5/10. I'd definitely be willing to give Ayer another try before forming a conclusive opinion on their matcha. Their matcha quality is good, so I think I just need to try a different drink. read more
If you see a line out the door, you're in the right place! Ayer can get pretty crowded on weekends, and the parking lot fills up fast. But the line moves pretty steadily! They only allow one party in the shop at a time. You order with one person, and then they send you to the cashier to pay. Once you place your order, the drinks come out pretty quickly. I love a good Blueberry Matcha, so I knew I had to try one. The matcha latte has oat milk and their house blueberry puree. I really enjoyed it! They also have their Matcha Lattes "One," "Two," and "Three." We opted for the Matcha Three which includes salted matcha vanilla ice cream and matcha sorbet, oat milk, and house vanilla syrup. It was pretty good! Lastly, we got the Coconut Pandan Green Rice drink which sounded unique! It's ice blended with coconut cream, pandan coconut rice, and condensed milk. It's a thicker drink with more texture from the rice. I'll be back! read more
The first time I tried to come here, there was a line out the door. I thought there was a promotion or something but it was just their line. Apparently it's small inside so they only allow 1 group in at a time. So this 2nd time, I decided to stay and wait out the line. I did time it and it took 15 from the time we waited in line to order to getting our drinks. So not bad. I got the blueberry latte less sweet-I enjoyed my drink, first time having blueberry. There was a good amount of blueberry syrup and I'm glad I got it less sweet. My friend go the banana matcha and she liked it. The toasted crunch added was a nice touch. Definitely a treat. Their matcha is high quality and delicious! The matcha 3 has basically 3 servings of matcha! It has a bitterness. The coconut pandan smoothie was ok. It sounds really good on the menu, especially reading the ingredients. But would not get it again. The service is efficient. There was a line and we waited about 25 minutes. And the drinks came out within 10 minutes. Ambiance is a small shop and they sell their own matcha powder and hojicha. read more

They were sweet, creamy, and had a rich matcha flavor without being overpowering. My favorite was the Strawberry Matcha--the flavors were incredibly well balanced. The fresh strawberry purée added a refreshing, natural sweetness that paired perfectly with the matcha and cream foam. I visited on a Sunday around 11 AM, and the line took about 30 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. The staff were super friendly, and once I ordered, the drinks came out quickly. Blueberry matcha. That is it. Long line!!! but it goes by surprisingly fast. One thing I love is that they make sure that only one group is inside ordering at a time. Once indoors, you can see how they prepare their matcha in a big batch. Love that!! Hence why the line goes by so quickly. I also appreciate the Dairy warning sign on their menu. The person checking me out was such a sweetie. They asked about my weekend plans and sounded genuinely interested, Glad to see they keep a good attitude despite being so busy. I stopped by Ayer on a Sunday around 3:30 PM and there was a line as expected. It only looks long because the line starts out the door, with the inside of the shop having two stations: one station is to place your order and the other is to pay for your drinks. It's a small coffee shop and is more of a grab-and-go place. Despite how busy they get, the workers are very friendly and efficient. A male worker (who I believe was the owner) who was regulating the line was very kind and apologized about the wait. Shows the care that they have for their customers. I ordered the mango matcha, which are two of my favorite things. The flavors compliment each other well with a good balance between the two rather than one flavor overpowering the other. It reminded me of a mango lassi with a hint of matcha. The drink is overall very refreshing and smooth, and I would recommend it if you're looking to try a more unique matcha drink. read more

[Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Mango Matcha, Salted Saigon, and Matcha Latte. They also sell Korean salt bread in limited quantity, so come early before it sells out. *** Signature Korean Salt Bread (Limited Daily - $4.50): A bit cold but tasted good. Mango Matcha (Made with oat milk & mango purée - $7.50): I see the appeal - the drink was quite good. Stopped by earlier today and there was a short line. Parking was easy since it's located in a plaza. Ordering and paying was nicely organized. Service was so friendly!!! I ordered the Matcha Two (less sweet + oat milk) and also purchased a 40 gram tin of their matcha. Once you're finished paying, you stand outside until they call you with your order. They called my name fairly quick and my drink was BEAUTIFUL. The color was a perfect shade of green. I have no notes (I'm a picky person when it comes to my matcha). 10/10! read more

FAVEEEEE matcha spot these days! so blessed that it's on my way to work i've been to Ayer multiple times now, and it NEVER disappoints. i usually try to arrive @ opening 8am or a little earlier because there WILL be a line - don't be scared off! the staff inside the little storefront is super friendly and they work hard, efficiently, and quickly, so if you have time and there's a line, i think it's 10000% worth it. my favorites: - mango matcha : this place has my absolute favorite mango matcha. the flavor is just chef's kiss!! it's literally made to perfection every time, and it's the perfect balance of quality-grade matcha and mango flavor. it's hard for me to not order this every time oops - blueberry matcha : sooo pleasantly surprised by this one bc i don't typically care for blueberry, but i had to try bc it looked yum! and it IS. it's so unique and the sweetness of the blueberry puree marries so nicely with the umami matcha - matcha two: the BEST standard matcha !! i usually like flavored/fruit matcha, but this one is just an explosion of deliciousness that gets me goin in the morning LOL - i still have to try the matcha three with the sorbet - salt bread: ALLLLWAYS get the salt bread! another reason i only like going during opening is to make sure i can get my hands on one of these bc it just pairs so perfectly with a yum lil bev all in all 20/10 easily! i'm already looking forward to my next visit haha thank you to the ayer team for a great matcha spot! read more
One of the best matcha spots in OC! I arrived around 1:30pm on a Friday afternoon. I was able to fine parking quickly which was nice because it's a tiny parking lot. There was a long line in front of the store and waited in line for about 10-15 minutes. I was looking through the window and saw they hand whisked all of the matcha, which is why it takes a long time. They also had one person taking the orders and one person in charge of payment. They don't do online orders. It's also the place you grab and go since it's small inside with one bench. I got my drink 10 minutes after ordering. I ordered the matcha one which is just matcha with oat milk and less sweetness. I like that all their drinks have oat milk since I don't like paying extra for it. It was so good! The matcha flavor was definitely strong and goes well with the oat milk. Would definitely come back and bring a friend to show this place! :-) read more

Definitely the best Vietnamese coffee I've had, and I've tried a lot. The Salted Saigon had the perfect balance of flavors. My friend got the Coconut Matcha and it was surprisingly delicious too. The line looks intimidating but moved pretty fast -- about 20 mins when we went and totally worth it. Parking can be rough. Amazing service too, the ladies working there were so sweet and welcoming. read more

After having Ayer Coffee bookmarked for a while, I finally had the chance to try it out the other day. I pulled up around 9am and there was already a line of people waiting to order, which I thought meant their coffee/matcha drinks must be delicious and worth trying. And their matcha was worth it. The line went by fast, and the staff was so sweet. I got the Matcha One and a salt bread. The flavor of the matcha was so well-balanced. Not grainy at all and the color of the matcha was beautiful. Only thing is their drinks all include oat milk and there aren't alternative milk options, which I didn't realize until I was in line. I'm not the biggest fan of oat milk so that kinda affected my taste. However, the salt bread was really good! Buttery, soft, and not too salty. Because of my aversion to oat milk, I probably won't be back. But I will definitely recommend this spot to people that don't mind oat milk! read more
It's organized and run efficiently. The line wasn't too bad and imo moves quickly. Once you order and pay, the drinks come out fast. The cashier was super friendly and very cheery. I got Matcha Two and my sister got Mango Matcha. I was between Matcha Two and Strawberry Matcha but decided to go with Matcha Two. It was satisfactory, but I've had better. My sister really wanted to try their Signature Korean Salt Bread but they had already sold out. They probably had literally just sold out shortly before because we saw people eating it/ were able to purchase one. Parking was easy to find. I'm not the biggest fan of matcha cream tops as they tend to be overly sweet but this one had a perfect balance. Ayer Coffee was so yummy! Ordered the coconut water matcha cream and strawberry matcha and both were really good -- but the coconut water matcha was my personal favorite. Perfect balance of coconut water and matcha, not too sweet, just really well done. Easily my favorite version of this drink so far. The strawberry matcha was also good -- loved that they use fresh strawberry puree, it adds a natural sweetness that doesn't overpower the matcha. The matcha quality overall is solid. Heads up that it's a small spot with a line that goes outdoors, but on a weekday it moved pretty quickly. Staff is super friendly, and chats with you a bit. Can't wait to go back! read more

I always come at 8am when they open to TRY and beat the long lines. So at 8am, i'm standing in line to receiving my order, took 25 minutes. Imagine any other time during the day! But it's worth it. Anything here is absolutely perfect and delicious from their iced coffees to their iced Matcha seriously order anything and you'll love it! read more

Mango Matcha 4/5 I was hesitant to try the Mango Matcha, but I'm glad I did. Who knew mango and matcha was a good pairing? It's also one of their most popular drinks. The sweet mango purée and smooth matcha combination is worth trying. Matcha Two 4/5 My sister said hers was okay and that she has had better double matcha drinks in the Los Angeles area. The place is small. They only allow one party at a time, so there's always a line outside. The staff are always friendly and upbeat. Come early if you want to try their salt bread. I've missed it twice and this morning, the person in front of us got the last one. So sad. read more
Pretty efficient cafe. Though the line is long, it's a pretty quick in and out once you order. We got the matcha 2 which was a matcha latte with a vanilla cream foam on top. I had heard lots of thyme about Ayer but personally don't get it! The matcha itself was fine, could have been stronger and I wasn't a huge fan of the foam. I wish it was sweeter/more vanilla-y. I wouldn't write off this place though and would be down to come again and try another drink or maybe even the same one in case this was an off day. On another note, the baristas are very friendly and kind and make it a positive environment! read more
A long wait but kinda worth it! Long line in the little complex but it moved quicker than expected. Parking is a hassle but it's not like LA parking. From back of the line to getting our drinks in hand took about 45-50 minutes, it felt quicker than that though. Went on a Saturday afternoon about an hour before closing. Staff were very friendly and kind. Made our drinks beautifully. Inside is very small but it's meant to have more space for the kind staff to make as many drinks as possible. Banana Coffee - 9.5/10, the best in the county for sure, the fresh banana pieces are a nice touch and the banana cream and coffee tasted great. Mango Matcha - 6/10. Mango puree tasted AMAZING before mixing, after mixing it kinda got lost in the matcha. Matcha was slightly grainy but it still tasted good. I would wait in line for the coffee again 100%, but I would try the other matcha as well. read more

Comfortably the best matcha I've had in OC! Was pretty underwhelmed with the Vietnamese coffee. The strength was lacking and the condensed milk flavor felt more similar to a syrup than condensed milk. Lots of comments on the line here. The line moves incredibly quick! The staff does a great job inside, the line appears longer because guests are limited on entry. read more
