I also love that they have a lot of greenery which makes it's nice especially during colder times. The staff are super friendly and accommodating with your request (I wanted my drink less sweet). They also have a wall there they are selling a few locally made crafts which is a nice touch. Definitely feels like a local staple now that they've had a few years to establish themselves. We came today and ordered the durian coffee, Viet latte, and durian basque cheesecake. The order did take a while to come out maybe 15 minutes. The coffees came out quite warm and the lattes were very foamy (felt more like a cappuccino). The durian coffee had real sweet durian in it so I enjoyed that one very much that the flavours just worked. The Viet latte was tasty and not too sweet. For the dessert, I could not appreciate the durian taste but the cheesecake itself wasn't too sweet and quite rich. I think we maybe came here on an off-day and would come by to try it again. The actual store is quite pretty and I love how they decorated everything Vietnam-themed. There is one washroom as well.

The store is small, with indoor seating for about 20-25 customers, which makes it difficult to find seating during peak times. They also have wifi there are well. I stopped by Cong Caphe on a Wed afternoon. The store was full and staff took up 2 tables at the back of the store as they were doing a photoshoot (perhaps on their drinks and menu items!). The menu is displayed above near the cashier (I didn't even see this until after ordering so I was confused why I didn't see the menu at first). Menu has a variety of Vietnamese drinks as well as sandwiches (banh mi) available. Moreover, there is a display of baked goods and other packaged drinks next to the cashier as well. Service wise, there was only 1-2 staff working and it took about 5 min for my order to be made. I opted to grab the $1 vina brew promo that the coffee shop was having, where it promoted their new brew. My order honestly didn't take much to prepare but 2 others ahead of me had drinks where the staff had to blend which took time. Service was friendly though. Overall, my vina brew tasted decent and strong. The coffee doesn't have any additional dairy or sugar so if you wanted to add anything the store has some milk and sugar near the back of the store. They also have a small patio out front however, no patio furniture yet. The washrooms are located downstairs though. Currently during their soft opening, everything is 10% off. The grand opening for this location is on June 20th! Expect the decor to be very similar to their Bay St. location downtown, although the space is a bit smaller. Entering the space, you are drawn to the many pastries and cakes available for purchase, as well as an extensive drink menu featuring Vietnamese coffee, matcha drinks, tea drinks, as well as your regular espresso based drinks as well. My friend and I stopped by La La Bakeshop during their opening day in the afternoon. The place was buzzing with excitement as many people came by to purchase their cakes as well as order drinks. There weren't a lot of baked goods left but there were still a lot of mini cakes. Staff were friendly and did their best with making drinks and calling out orders despite them being so busy! My friend and I both ordered a jasmine matcha latte (mine was cold while hers was hot). We were able to find a seat however, it was pretty loud at times so it was difficult to hold a conversation in the space. Our drinks were made in less than 10 min and my jasmine matcha latte tasted great - it had a strong matcha taste. There could be more jasmine flavour though. Butter garlic cream cheese bun was pretty good. It was very fragrant with a little crunch on the outside but with a fluffy crumb & rich cream. The cream was sweet-savoury not garlicky. Coconut cream croissant was good: a rich & buttery croissant with a rich coconut flavour in the cream inside & the crust on top. Taro, Triple Chocolate & Matcha Jasmine lava buns were bad. The cream & crumb were very light but the eponymous tastes were very very subtle: weak even. Chocolate was the weakest & good chocolate is often semi sweet or bitter sweet: this was just not sweet at all. Longan Jasmine milk tea was an unusual flavour & pretty good. The underlying tea was pretty good.

This eatery is located in a plaza and, according to my friend, Ulysses, occupied the store where Matcha Matcha was. I have always had an interest for what stores used to be where. Across the street is a KFC that has a bucket that no longer spins. Bummer. There was plenty of parking in the lot. We got there at noon, which was when this store was open on a Monday. I also came after work on a Wednesday. There was lots of parking then, too. Staff are friendly and nice. Ulysses had enjoyed his coconut coffee when we were here the first time. He loved it being iced and creamy with the coconut in it. I had to get one. I paid with a credit card. I tapped and was good. It didn't take long for my drink to be made. I was excited when I finally got it. I thanked the man and left. This drink was awesome. The coffee was strong, but the coconut flavour did a good job masking some of it and balancing everything out. It was cold and yummy on a warm, summery day. I've had these items in the past: - Lemongrass peach tea - Special rice rolls with pork rinds - Banh mi cut We got a buzzer to let us know when our food would be ready. Ulysses and I are on the tall side height-wise (5'10" and 6', respectively). These low tables and chairs that look like they are for preschoolers are not good for tall people. It had rice paper, jerky beef, shrimp salt, fried garlic, satay, fried shallot, quail eggs, green onions, pork rinds, and mint. It was super crispy and flavourful. It was filling for lunch. Yum!
