    SPRING ROLLS (SHRIMP AND PORK)
    Ryan T.

Pho 1 was an interesting experience overall. An out of the way place that has a deep local vibe. One of those gotta know it to really know it places. The owner was working when we stopped by, and she was happy to get us served and seated. The spring roll was standard, and the pho was pretty good. I would give the pho a separate 4/5 rating. The bun bo was a bit watered down and needed fish sauce to bring some flavor out and the noodles were cooked a little too long making them melt in your mouth rather than chewable. Overall, I was neither blown away by the meal or mad at the meal. Definitely an average spot and experience.

I tried the grilled pork vermicelli rice noodles with egg roll. The description from their menu: served with bean sprouts, lettuce, cucumber, pickled carrots, daikon's crushed peanuts, and house sweet chili sauce. I'm not a fan. I expected the dish to be hot hot, like Thai noodles, but it was cold. The small egg roll was hot. There was a large clump of noodles stuck together. I won't be back

This is really more of a 3.5 but I'm being generous. More of a fast food vibe. Counter service which is fine. There were a few patrons coming in and out as I dined in. The Vietnamese pho special broth is a bit more ginger and star anise than I prefer. But again that's a preference. The meat was definitely tough but still edible. The spring rolls had a lot of greenery but again with the sauces they have on the table to include chili sauce it was good. What I venture out of my way to come back here again? Probably not but if you're in the area it's decent.

Pho 1 offers excellent Vietnamese cuisine in a casual setting. It's a small shop in a strip mall anchored by Publix. There are about 10 tables, and on this Saturday night it was packed. Service was a little strained because there was a large party. Food is served quickly. We started with Goi Cuon (spring rolls) - beautifully rolled shrimp and pork rolls lettuce, cucumber, bean sprouts, basil, cilantro wrapped in rice paper, accompanied by traditional peanut dipping sauce. All of the ingredients are fresh and crisp, and the flavors well balanced. The sauce is on the thin side, which means you have to dip more often. A minor nit - if the appetizer is to be shared, plates are needed. It's impossible to eat one of these without spillage! Next is the special beef pho. A traditional size (BIG) bowl of flavorful beef broth, brimming with sliced beef, halved meat balls, tendon, tripe and brisket, a ball of thin rice noodles, topped with scallions and sliced onions. Bean sprouts, cilantro, basil and sliced jalepenos are served on the side. The pho was very good, though the noodles were a little soggy. We also tried the Banh Mi Chay. A beautifully prepared sandwich stuffed with seasoned tofu, cucumbers, pickled carrots and cilantro and a house made mayo. The bread is just ok, but the rest of the ingredients are spot-on and tasty. Pho 1 is a great choice to satisfy that Pho craving. Recommended.

Very plain inside. Pho was typical and good. Rare beef was very clean and surprisingly generous portion. The plastic Chinese spoon is jokingly small Menu photos on Yelp prices very out of date. .

I have been here at least two more times since my initial review for food, and several times for boba smoothies. The food has been fantastic, staff friendly, and taro smoothies delicious !!

Well I finally found a Pho place near my new job in Pinellas Park. I had not had Pho for a month, since I stopped working in Tampa and going to Fusion Bowl almost weekly so it was time to check out the Pinellas spots within driving distance of the new job. I checked out the menu in advance, and when I walked in I just went up to the counter and ordered. Normally, you sit and they bring a menu out to you. I knew I wanted the beef pho. Mmmmmm, it is good. I like that they have a spice tray on each table so you can add the right amount of spice to your bowl of goodness. The one complaint I had is that there was some cleaner or air freshener they were using and I could basically taste it every time I opened my mouth. In the future, I might order it to go and not eat in the restaurant because it was pretty strong. Other things I saw that I would want to try in the future is the pho burrito and some of their blended fruit drinks. I love fruity beverages and they make smoothies and slushies and other items as well.

3.5 stars restaurant. However, they carry a dish that I haven't have before. Round up to 4 stars. This restaurant have sit down and serve. It carry some traditional dish. I have order their special beef pho. It has all the beef ingredients including tripe and tendon. A few things can be improved. The beef need to slice thinner. The pho base soup is at clear and light pho flavor. It may need a bit stronger. But if you like light pho taste, this is the one you can order. I have the crispy flat noodle. This dish I have not try before. The angels hair rice noodle was deep fried and flatten. It top with stir fry mixed of meat and seafood. The chef has good wok skill. This dish cook at high BTU flame. It bring out the good flavor. I also has a to go special Vietnamese sandwich. It is assorted cold cut meat assemble. The homemade sweet paste make this sandwich stand out from other sandwich. Service is good. Food come out quick.

Very small portion, NO CARROTS NOR DAIKON

This is the worst Vermicelli Rice Noodles I've ever had, and I've had a lot across New York City and Pinellas Park. I got the Grilled Pork & Egg Roll one with no cucumber. Despite adding the whole little tub of house sweet chili sauce, the food still had no flavor, which is very weird because the sauce is usually TOO full of flavor. I felt like I was eating the La Croix version of what Vermicelli Rice Noodles are supposed to taste like. For the price (~$9) and the great quality of all the other Vietnamese restaurants nearby, I was very disappointed by Pho 1. I do have to say that this lack of flavor may have been due to their withholding of my pickled carrots and daikon, even though I only said no cucumber. I was very frustrated because the carrots and daikon are my favorite parts of this dish, so I called them to let them know. The lady on the phone very rudely insisted that she had personally added the carrots and daikon in herself, and only stopped when I told her I could take a picture and send it to her as proof that she didn't. She then offered no solution other than to make sure to give me carrots and daikon on my next visit. I'm worried that I need an advance promise in order to get what my dish is supposed to have at this restaurant. There will be no next visit.

The wife enjoyed a small roast quail for $5 and a serving of 5 garnished clams in the shells for $10. She did not like the $15 garnished bowl of beef slices/pig elbow/cheap canned luncheon meat/and pig blood noodle soup as she says it lacked flavor and she was not thrilled with the cook wiping down the countertop and handling her food with the same gloved hands. I only had a skewer of 4 large chunks of grilled pork belly at $7 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll come back just for the pork belly. The vendors all were very polite and patient as we had many questions about prices and portion sizes. There was a DJ kicking out several nice tunes with his mixer. Nice job whoever you are! You do need to be vigilant when it comes to product prices. For example, a vendor was selling grilled wieners on a skewer for $7 each without bun, or typical condiments. I instead opted for a huge Sam's club polish dog in a bun with large 30 oz. drink with napkins and all the condiments I needed, and I topped it off with a rotisserie chicken, all, for a total of $6.81. There are some vendors with already cooked food for sale before opening. Parking gets challenging after opening so I would recommend arriving 15-20 minutes before opening for a better chance for a parking space. Overall, I had a nice time at Saigon Summer Nights this winter with its fun lively atmosphere and tasty food, for the most part. We will be back for sure!
