Stopped here after searching on Yelp for a good PHO spot near where I was in VA. This one popped up with good reviews. They are clean and open for dining in and takeout currently. I got my food to go. The wings were flavorful and full of ginger and a sweet tangy sauce. the crispy spring rolls were bigger than I have ever received from a Vietnamese spot and I was pleased. Their fish sauce was plain (no carrots) but good with the rolls. And the Chicken Pho had an option of white meat which I ordered. They gave me extra bean sprouts when I asked for them at no extra charge. The hoisin and sriracha were combined in one sauce container. (So if you do not like your soup spicy, you may want to ask for them separately. ) Will definitely be stopping in again when I am out this way. read more

Pho is alive and well, ladies and gentlemen. And it is at Pho 102. This lovely shop on Metrotech Drive is a tasty reminder of the Pho glory days and why I fell in love with it all those years ago, before Toki Underground and the $12 ramen bowl. Hubs and I recently had the Nam Ve Don (#12) Pho with fried spring rolls. The soup is a knockout: silky, light, delicious broth with abundant lean cuts of brisket, well-done with beautiful marbling and great texture. It's true it's been years since I've had Pho but the Nam Ve Don could very well be the best I have ever had. The spring rolls were equally delicious - but be warned: these are not the delicate Vietnamese Nems you are used to. These suckers are HUGE, more similar (in size) to a Lumpia (but definitely not as greasy). It's also not wrapped in that crispy, bubbly rice paper that makes the Vietnamese egg roll oh-so-special. It is still delicious though and serves as a perfect companion to a hot bowl of beef pho. A note: the egg rolls aren't the only oversized dishes at Pho 102. Not only is the restaurant quite generous with their portions, but another Yelper recently wrote that they will only serve the large-sized bowl for takeout orders. The hubs and I both spread our bowls of pho over two meals (dinner one day; lunch the next) because finishing each in one sitting would have been a crime. read more

The Pho here wasn't bad and the spring rolls were serviceable but the reason this place is only getting two stars is due to the fact that the service and customer rapport were some of the worst I have experienced in a long time. Upon sitting down I was immediately rushed into ordering right away with an incredibly rude tone and was specifically asked to " hurry up and order" by the waiter. No water was offered to me the entire time I was at the restaurant. I had to ask for a water myself and by the time it came out I had already finished with my meal. Upon going to the cashier to pay for my order not only was I charged for the incorrect amount but when pointing out the incorrect receipt to the cashier I was immediately scoffed at for daring to question them. This place have about a dozen tables and it is packed during lunch. The service is prompt though not too much chit chat, very efficient. Cat's out of the bag; solid pho here's so good, they're even busy for early lunch!! ...so nicking a table wasn't looking easy but one serendipitously opened up just as we were, lucky us. Lots of sods milling about just after. Warmly welcomed with friendly well intentioned but overextended service, the sort that forgets things or comes late with refills or condiments or whatever. We had our own small issues as did others who weren't as good natured about it. Cha Gio, their take on crispy spring rolls was nothing short of awesome. Deliciously crispy with a special flaky way about it. And probably the largest ones I've seen that weren't egg rolls. Very Nice. Veggie pho's broth was wondefully rich, gloriously steeped. I found the food to be good but the server was very curt and quite rude. He didn't say any words to me even when I thanked him for bringing my food, napkins and tea to the table. He appeared to be focused on getting back to his phone. At first I thought there may have been a reason why I literally had to stop him to request anything before he rushed off as if dismissing me but I witnessed him stopping and speaking with 2 other customers and tending to them without the need to be beckoned. I blew all of his behavior off until I was ready to pay for my meal. I handed him my credit card and instead of him returning it to me he slides it to my left on the counter. I inquired as to why he didn't return the card to me 2 times. He never provided a response but then did the same with my receipt. THE BIG: Located in Sully Place shopping center. One of the cleaner pho places I've been to. Service is quick and the decor is really nice inside. Very fung shui-ish. Private parking lot outside. Does accept credit card and you pay at the cashier. THE BLACK AND WHITE: I was craving some pho since the weather is getting colder. I was shopping at Lotte plaza and this was the closest pho place. You seat yourself at this place. Usually I always order a large #1 (since most pho places place their pho at the top) but the #1 was spring rolls and #5 was when pho started. I wasn't terribly hungry so I ordered a small #5. The food came out fast (~5 mins upon ordering). The meat was freshly placed. It was nice and pink, so you had to wait a few minutes for the broth to finish cooking the meat. Broth was light and packed alot of flavor. Limes/mint/bean sprouts were fresh. Bathrooms seemed clean but smelled a lil funky. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall $8.58 for a small bowl of pho that filled me up pretty well. To be honest, the place didn't look appetizing from the outside. But it had good reviews, so my friend and I decided to try. Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted and sat. As time went on, the restaurant got fuller and fuller. Clearly a popular place! Decent amount of seating though, and service is quick so tables turn over quickly. The menu had plenty of options for myself who is vegan and my friend who eats meat. The fresh tofu spring rolls were absolutely delicious. The bahn mi with tofu also had great flavor. I've found that I've developed a reoccurring craving for the summer rolls. I went back just yesterday to pick up my favorite summer rolls and the number 12. I did forget to ask for extra sauce but I'm so happy with my order anyway! Koi once again helped me by bringing my order to my car while I waited in my vehicle. He was so kind since I walk with the assistance of a cane. The food is delicious! The broth is so rich and flavorful... this is what caught my attention in the first place. The variety of options, the fact that there are so many allergy friendly choices make it easy to feed my extended family, my grandsons have an extensive list of allergies! But back again to the pho... that broth is epic! The intensity of the flavor, the richness of the broth keeps me coming back! Yep I sound obsessed... cuz it's so GOOD! As you walk into this tiny establishment, you see the legendary bowl of pho award right in front of you -- this place must be super legit, right? Yes, it's legit alright. For what it's worth, the pho at Pho 102 is really really good. The broth is kind of sweet, which is a little unusual and maybe a little nontraditional (or so I think), but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've enjoyed pho tai nam, pho dac biet (not the giant one, a smaller bowl!), the bun bo hue, and the goi cuon. All are delicious and decently priced. As others have mentioned, is this the best pho place in NoVA? I'm not sure. But I can say, for the Centreville/Chantilly/Herndon area, this is pretty legit pho. I can only speak to the Pho as it seemed other patrons were also ordering a lot of the vermicelli dish. I had the summer roll and the meat was tough and leathery. Let's just say I regret getting the pho. Whoever reviewed this place as the best pho in the DMV just needs to do us all a favor and quit reviewing. The pho? smelled like a bowl of cinnamon with none of the bone broth flavor. Bland and watered down is the best I can describe it. Tasted just like bland Pho in South Korea. Stopped in to try this neighborhood Vietnamese joint while visiting my brother, who lives nearby. We were looking for a quick family meal for 6 people, no frills and something reliable that everyone could enjoy. We walked in at 5:30pm or so and there was only one other table occupied. By the time we finished our meal a little over an hour later, the restaurant was full (on a Wed night). There were also a lot of people stopping in for takeout as well. We started the meal with some spring rolls and fried egg rolls, which were both done well. Both items were thick and stuffed with goodness. It first I thought the price was a little steep ($2/roll) but the size made up for it. Everyone in my party ordered the famous pho broth for which they have won some local competitions. It was very good, strong in the cloves taste but otherwise the perfect depth and aroma and saltiness. My pho dac biet (combo) had a very very generous helping of meat, and for a small bowl was very filled to the brim. All the portions and the servings were very generous for everyone. I still like coming here because of their weekday lunch special but the moment I find another good lunch special, I'll probably stop coming here. Their spring rolls are like the size of your forearm. He wasn't wrong about those other places - just at a glance they seemed ridiculously overpriced. Maybe it's inflation but they made Pho 102 look like a promising option. Portion size - I was impressed. I've been ordering Large at every Pho place since childhood and always prided myself in how much food I can eat. Forget the 102 challenge, next time I come here I'll probably get a Regular because the Large was surprisingly generous. Meat & Noods- My dad's gauge of a good pho place is how much meat they give. I'm partial to the noodles (texture and amount). At first glance with a skeptical eye it didn't look like there was a lot but again, but my stomach proved that judgement to be false. Broth was on point and I've never seen such plentiful bean sprouts, basil, etc plate. Summer Rolls - I used to think summer rolls were overpriced until I learned firsthand what a pain in the butt they are to make. At $6 for two, it was iffy but they were large (split between four people) and tightly packed with ingredients. The inside didn't have much seasoning or taste sadly but they do give plenty of sauce. Vietnamese Coffee with condensed milk - served in a glass and not with the drip filter. Size was ok, taste was a bit on the sweet side. The broth wasn't bad. Definitely not watered down and not salty. It was aromatic and had so much flavor. Personally, I prefer this than Pho Bac broth any day (for the chantilly area). They served a good portion of meat and vermicelli! The nice part, the noodles wasn't under-cooked and the meat wasn't overrrr-cooked. They served a good handful of bean sprouts, some jalapenos, basil and lime with your pho. On the table you have three sauce choices which was also nice. Sate, ground chili and I forgot the other one. Can't wait to try their Bun Bo Hue. My bestie and I will go above and beyond to find the best bun bo hue in the area. (Too bad our fave spot closed down over a decade ago...memories~). I stopped in at Pho 102 for a late lunch - was interested in trying out their Pho Ga. Pho 102 occupies the space that formerly housed Viet Crystal. Viet Crystal had the best Pho Ga chicken broth I've ever had. I was really disappointed when they closed down. So Pho 102 has some big shoes to fill IMHO. I ordered the Pho Ga - with white meat, in a small bowl - and a glass of water with lime. My food took longer to come out than it should have - apparently there was some ordering snafu with the kitchen, but they quickly rectified it. The Pho Ga was accompanied by a plate of aromatics (Thai Basil, lime wedge, Jalapeños, and Bean Sprouts). All were very fresh looking. The bowl was steaming away when it was brought out to me. I added all of the ingredients on the plate to the Pho and tasted the broth - it was very good! Not the same as what Viet Crystal made - but still very good. I wolfed the bowl down in short order and drank every drop of broth! Apparently the restaurant has been open for just over one week. They have a Wi-Fi network - which is password protected. I asked for, and was given, the password to get on their Wi-Fi network. Credit cards are accepted, I think there is a $10.00 minimum in order to use your credit card. The interior of the place has been remodeled from what it used to look like. More modern, airy, and brighter. Lots of staff bustling about - all wearing their signature black Pho 102 t-shirts. Clearly these reviews are slanted. How could this be the "best Pho in Nova"?? I can think of 3 places automatically without even second guessing that are better. So I drove from Fairfax to Chantilly and checked the place out for myself. As soon as you walked in you could smell the broth which made me think.."Oh man I'm in for a treat" Yeah..I spoke too soon. So we walk in and we see open seating, but the sign says "wait to be seated". So we wait..and wait..for about 3min we stood and waited. Finally we are seated..to a table that was half cleaned. I guess they thought the left over seasoning would be better the 2nd go around. We were served room temperature water, which I thought was normal, but then I looked around and everyone else had ice. So I thought "OHHH this must be water to wipe down the semi clean table!" Yea not a good look. Food: so I ordered the pho bo vein which is the meatball pho. The first thing you look for in a good pho is the color of the broth. It was too light so I knew I was about to be disappointed. And I was, it was too bland, I'm sure the water they served me had more flavor. I did like the noodles and meatballs, both were tender. The rolls we ordered were pretty good as well. A family owned restaurant that serves up delicious Vietnamese food. Very sweet owners, they walk around to each table to make sure everything is good. It's a small place, but I've never been there when it gets extremely busy. They offer pho, traditional rice entrees and appetizers like spring roll and egg roll. The egg rolls (the crispy ones) are my favorite, they give you 2 big pieces and the filling is very well seasoned with veggies and pork. Yum! My top favorites are the Bun Bo Hue, tons of flavor, refreshing broth with alot of meat (brisket, Vietnamese ham). A viet dish that you must try! My go though is the Com Thit Heo Nuong (#24), it's a rice dish with delicious marinated pork, fresh vegetables and my all time favorite thing is fish sauce. Yes I drown my rice in fish sauce, it's like soup. Not everyone likes fish sauce but you have to at least try it!! I have tried the pho here too, it's pretty good but I have not gotten it as my entree yet, just tried it from others. The other 2 dishes you have to get. Yummy and delicious! We were in the area and decided to try this nice pho place on a whim we were very happy with checking it out overall. It was a small place but it was very clean and the staff were nice. When we walked in it smelled delicious! On a windy Saturday afternoon we can tell you it sure hit the spot. Food was fresh and broth was delicious. The price for two small bowls was affordable and well worth the price you pay. They provide sauces you can throw in as well as some bean sprouts and other fresh vegetables. What was the most enjoyable part was that they brought out the food quickly, we didn't wait long which was great if your just stopping by for a quick bite to eat while running some errands. I've been to countless pho restaurants in DC/NOVA. It's become an obsession of mine to identify the best Vietnamese noodle shops in the area every time I pay a visit to these parts. I saw the great reviews for Pho 102 and thought - this must be serious. Fortunately the restaurant lived up to its stellar reputation. First off the pho here is pretty rockin'. The broth is killer good and doesn't feel as greasy as what I experienced lately at Pho 75 (which has seen some of its quality really diminish at some of its locations, most notably at Rosslyn). The noodles were also good, and the meat was pretty decent - though I still think Pho 75 is the gold standard for that. What's really good here is the copious selection of awesome sauces at your disposal. Aside from the usual Siriacha and oyster sauces, they also have a trio of fresh homemade sauces to choose from - including lemongrass, fresh chili and sate. All three were awesome and really added to the meal. I also really liked their appetizers. Their spring rolls were fresh, crispy and very tasty. They were also HUGE. Two spring rolls here are like the equivalent of four elsewhere. Their famous wings were also solid. The garlic sauce really kicked ass. Personally I thought the flavor was great, though it did get a bit too messy/saucy for my preference. However, there's no denying that the taste of the wings were top notch. It's kind of a schlep here if you're driving from DC, but it's worth the trip. This place is also kind of tucked away so make sure you check carefully on the map, as it's located in a separate section of the strip mall behind the big Lotte supermarket. My boyfriend and I just happened to be around this area and found this pho place has pretty good review so we decided to try. IT IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD! Seriously. We both got small bowl of Bun Bo Hue. Food was served quickly, it looked tasty. Later, a lady (maybe the owner) came to our table and suggested us to put a spoon of herself-made lemongrass sauce and spicy sauce. We both did. Then the first bite totally mesmerized me!!!! The soup was rich and flavorful, the noodle was special too I like the biting sensation--it was totally different from all noodles I had in the past. Most importantly, the portion was plenty for a small bowl AND tons of good meat in the bowl. We both felt "WOW"!!!!! $10 is the price for a small bowl of Bun Bo Hue. But we both confirm that it goes beyond our expectations. It is literally the best pho I have e we had in my life so far! Stopped by for lunch, ordered the pho tai bo vien (thin sliced beef with meatballs) with wings and spring rolls. The pho had that aroma of the five spices and cardamom, mmm i love it when it has that nice smell. There were plenty of meat in my bowl so I have no complaints except for the meatballs, they were too big and I think there were only two pieces. Spring rolls were rolled big and crunchy, love it when it comes out really hot but I didn't think the rolls had any flavor to it. Wings were tasty. I came here in hopes of ordering banh xeo-which they didn't have :( Though their menu is very limited, this place is definitely all about their pho. I ordered a small #19 Bo vien (meatball pho) and a Vietnamese iced coffee. The broth on its own was very flavorful & clean. Proportional meat to noodle ratio. Additionally, they offer 3 sate sauces at the table which were pretty tasty (chili garlic oil, chili garlic paste, and lemongrass oil). The coffee was a bit too creamy for me (I personally prefer my Vietnamese coffee on the strong/bitter side). Nonetheless, it was still delicious. I had summer rolls, chicken wings, and the grilled pork rice dish. And I ordered two iced coffees for myself (so good). That means I know where to go if I have my cravings near home!! The chicken wings are sooooo good, I recommend trying something them instead of the usual rolls! I will definitely be hitting up this place a lot more often now. Came because of the ratings. Wasn't impressed. Its ok. PRO: fast service, two servers were nice. Egg roll sauce was good. CON: my boyfriend got pho and I got bun bo hue. They probably focus more on volume though because of the foot traffic after the quick service water refill was slow. My stomach was just over all disappointed. Normally when you eat pho you get this feeling..didnt get it. I need to go back to my familiar grounds. No one can make bun bo hue good around here.
