Very surprised by my handful of visits here. At first i tried the Pho; thought it was decent, but nothing to rave about. Then i came back and i tried their Bo Ne (sizzling skillet) and I really enjoyed it. The bread was so crispy and airy at the same time... very attractive snap to it. I also tried their chicken goi cuon and it was so well made--gave me Nem Nuong summer roll vibes. Decently priced at around $13 for a large bowl with choice of 3 types of beef plus the pho noodles and the normal goodies for toppings (bean sprouts, sauces, basil, mint, lime, jalapeño). It was served hot and delicious! I wasn't feeling well so this really helped me to feel better. The beef was tender and delicious. Especially when I added the lime and spicy sauce. Would definitely recommend and would return. The only issue was the service. It was ok, but the servers were not friendly at all. We had the beef pho and it was rich and flavorful with plenty of tender meat and noodles. The chicken banh mi was fresh and well‑balanced with crisp veggies and savory meat, and the sauce tied it all together. I liked the bun/baguette as well. I don't come into a pho restaurant and expect "great service". But one of the workers giving us mouth for asking for a couple high chairs is truly unnecessary. Pho Towda is better than your average pho place with a price premium. We started with the garden roll with shrimp which had a sweet dipping sauce. I especially liked the rare ginger beef pho which had a nice soft texture with hints of ginger. Tasted the meats of the personalized pho with flank, steak and brisket which seemed similar to other pho places. However, the broth made a difference compared to other pho places. Love this modern pho restaurant! Decor and design is so beautiful. So many plants all over the whole restaurant making it feel so natural. The pho & summer rolls were super delicious and filling. The drinks we had (Ube Coconut Coffee iced & Thai Iced Tea) were not only very tasty but aesthetic as well! The service was quick as we were the first customers there when they opened at 11am. The few things I noticed that are super minor and may have been due to us being there early. They didn't serve bean sprouts, limes, and jalapeños with our pho. They also only gave one napkin each (I prefer to have plenty when eating spicy soup!) and no plates for us to share the summer rolls appetizer, just the small plate it was served on. Placing an order was easy via their touchscreen ordering POS in the dining room and service was friendly getting my order together for me. I ordered 3 chicken pho with an extra broth. If you want straight up pho, there are other places in the area that I think are better, and you'll have a wider selection elsewhere. The banh mi was pretty good, but maybe a bit expensive for what I got. We came for a late lunch (1pm) on a Saturday and the place was crowded. After we had been seated for a few minutes, there were a few groups of people waiting for tables. So, this place is popular and the food is pretty good, but I've had better pho and I'm guessing I can find a better banh mi as well. I had the Personal Palette Pho and Pork belly Banh Mi. My dining partner had the Chicken Pho. The personal palette pho came with a selection of 3 proteins (from among steak (which I think is eye round), meatballs, brisket, flank, and tendon). I choose steak/brisket/flank. The broth was very flavorful and the beef was meaty. All the noodles were of one type and thin. At other places, you'll find slightly larger/wider noodles and/or a mix of noodle sizes, but the thinness of the noodles here made them feel a bit too soft and soggy. Table condiments included Huy Fong Sriracha and an unknown brand of Hoisin sauce. As for the banh mi, the baguette was crispy on the outside with a soft interior. When biting into it, the outside easily collapsed and crumbled into innumerable crusty bits. The pork belly was tasty with the fat rendered to a sweet stickiness. While it was really good, I felt the filling portion was on the small side. There was too much bread to filling. We asked about the two different prices for the sandwiches and the server said they are for a smaller round bun vs. the larger baguette. The chicken pho was fine. It came in the same broth as the beef pho with large thin slices of white meat chicken. Unless you have something particular against having beef in your pho, I recommend just getting a beef one and skipping the chicken. As I mentioned at the beginning, the pho selection here is pretty limited. And for what you get, you're better off going to one of the other pho places in the Chantilly/western Fairfax area. You'll have just as good flavor, probably a slightly larger serving, and more meat selection. I'll probably seek out another banh mi place before coming back here as well. read more

We loved the Stone bowl pho (phở thố đá)! The broth was fragrant, flavorful and stayed pretty hot for a while in the stone bowl. I expected the beef to be a bit tough since I saw that they were sliced a bit thicker than normal hot pot brisket, but they were surprisingly very tender! The bun bo Hue (spicy noodle soup) was spicy and had the authentic spice and fragrant of the traditional dish that I grew up with. It also came with a good amount of meat and a big piece of pork knuckle. The iced ube coconut egg coffee was absolutely delicious! The coconut added a subtle nuttiness flavor to the creamy egg coffee! The service was prompt and friendly. Ambiance is casual. I loved all of the plant decorations! Was recommended this place by a friend who said it was the best Pho she's had in her life - she's Vietnamese so lots of trust there! Their menu is short which is good because it makes choosing what I want easier. I ended up with the stone bowl signature Pho she recommended and which seems to be their specialty. The bowl keeps the pho hot for a loooong time which is great for slower eaters like me. Everyone at my table finished our pho so that probably shows how delicious it was. The signature Pho has a small learning curve - the meat and add-ons are on a Separate plate and since the meat was pink I figured I could add it straight to the bowl - it cooked real fast so in hindsight I should have added it a little at a time just before I was going to eat it. Overall a great experience. They were a little confusing when we first entered the restaurant because no one came to help so we thought it was the type of restaurant where we have to find a seat but decided to wait it out, after two minutes someone came out and got us seated but I was a little bundle of anxiety off a minute there. The pho also came out with weird timing - like the signature Pho add ins were brought out 8 minutes before the boiling broth and the noodles had formed one huge clump that didn't really break up for the remainder of the meal even though I dunked it right in the broth. Also they might run out of their regular pho noodles early, so they have a backup flat noodle they serve you instead. I would definitely come back now that I know what to expect! read more

Nice upper scale pho place where the pho is genuinely good. Don't miss their banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) as they make it very well here. They also offer Vietnamese egg coffee (hot or cold) that's not available at any other pho places. Also, don't miss their signature stone bowl pho where the broth comes out in a steaming hot stone bowl and beef/fixings on the side. I stumbled across Pho Towda recently. First time I attempted to visit was a Tuesday afternoon - but discovered they are closed on Tuesdays. So I came back on a Saturday. The menu is pretty basic - mostly rolls and Pho. I ordered the Pho Ga - there is only one size offered. When they brought out the aromatics - they were all fresh - but the amount of bean sprouts was paltry - so I requested more bean sprouts - which they promptly brought out. The Pho came out shortly thereafter - steaming away. After tasting the chicken broth, which was light and tasty (I'd prefer a heartier chicken broth - but those are few and far between) - I added the aromatics. Pho Towda is located in the Fairfax Towne Center right across Regal Theatres. They replaced the Italian place that used to be here. I tried their signature spring roll and stone bowl pho. The spring rolls were some of the best I've had in NoVA. In terms of the stone bowl pho, I think the broth has a rich taste and it comes out boiling hot. Had to try this place after hearing about the concept of a "stone bowl pho"! Came here recently for Saturday lunch--restaurant is fairly small but there were available tables, so no wait. STONE BOWL SIGNATURE PHO (Phở Thố Đá)--that's what they are known for right, so had to try! The broth is served in a stone bowl and is still bubbling hot when it reaches you--a large plate of rare beef steak (tái) with noodles and veggies are served along with the bowl. The best part is that you can add everything at your own pace--the noodles don't get soggy and the meat doesn't overcook either, like in regular pho bowls, but beware the broth is piping hot for a while! The broth was flavorful but not enough, we still had to add in hoisin sauce and sriracha. Overall, the Stone Bowl Signature Bowl was good but the portion was unusually large for just one person and it's a bit expensive--$22.95. I wasn't able to finish all of it--they should offer a smaller portion so food doesn't get wasted, and charge less. They have some other food items on the menu as well--tried the Summer Roll (gỏi cuốn), it was okay! Don't pass on this one people. I went specifically for their Steak & Eggs = Bo Ne and Banh Mi = Vietnamese Sandwich. Incredible! The owner makes his own bread in house. It is so light and crisp yet soft inside. He is only 1 of 2 restaurants that I know of in the area that serves Bo Ne/Steak & Eggs in 4 different versions. Sausage, Lemongrass Beef, Steak or Pork Belly. Everything is so fresh. You should also try their signature rolls that are made with chicken or pork. I had the chicken, which was just delicious!
