The Pho is not as good as it use to be. The flavor is not there like before. I'm still amazed at their indifference to their customers. I used to find it insulting but now I find it amusing. Pho 24 is a great place if you are in Annandale and you want something quick for Vietnamese Food. I walked in and was sat right away. The place sports a lot of tables but I went on a slow afternoon with not many patrons. I already knew what I want so I just told the waiter what I wanted and after a few minutes my order came out. I got Com Thit Nuong which is basically Grilled Pork with Lemongrass w/ a side of rice and veggies. With fish sauce on the side, that's just umami flavors right there to dip the meat or pour over your rice; it's really good! This is a dish you can get and while it's not pho, definitely great for when the weather gets warmer! It was a quick meal; and I think for the prices it's cheaper compared to other Pho places. Enjoyed a late Thursday night here! Our pho came fast and had a great noodle to meat ratio. The coconut juice is really good too! Only complaints are the noodles break kind of easy, our server never came back around after we got our food, and the coconut juice container was sticky. Service was quick. This is a down to earth family style pho restaurant. I came here for the comfort of a hot bowl of pho on a cold windy day and it did not disappoint. In fact, it was the right thing to do. My large bowl of Pho 24 was generously filled with protein and delicious, soft-silky noodles. The broth had depth and flavor that satisfies the craving you get fulfilled with only pho. The goi cuon was neatly rolled and also packed with noodles, the usual veggies, and nicely sized shrimp lined in a row. The accompanying sauce was delicious and I let each bite swim in it before it disappeared. Went here with my friend, and the place was nice. It was clean and smelt great. I was hungry so I was ready to eat. The portion for the pho is large and is affordable. It's a smaller shop compared to pho 7 and others I've had. However I liked this neat small restaurant. I'm pretty sure it was a boba or tea place before but that doesn't matter it's a pho place and it's great. I ordered the seafood pho, and it was perfect. Gluten free of course, they use rice noodles. Great place for authentic Vietnamese food. I've eaten here many times and this review is overdue. Compared to other places, I noticed they put more meat and noodles in so that it's not mostly broth. I definitely felt like I got what I paid. The pho broth is clear and flavorful. They give you plenty of toppings! The egg roll was nice and crispy. The nuoc cham fish dipping sauce was spot on made right. The Bo Kho beef stew with carrots was very filling and steaming hot and perfectly spicy but mild. The broth was perfect! Some places make Bo Kho kind of sweet, which I don't like but they made it perfectly here. There are huge chunks of beef, and by the time you are done eating, you feel perfectly nourished. The ambiance is typical of most Vietnamese restaurants, mostly bare walls but some art and the focus is on the food, which I don't mind. You can feel free to seat yourself and pay at the front when you are ready. It is customary at most Vietnamese places because they do not want to rush you. read more

Amazing flavor in the pho broth but the portions were kind of small and service wasn't very friendly. It's a hole in the wall kind of feel but felt the prices did not reflect the ambiance as they were a little pricier than other pho places. I would definitely return for their pho but I would not get their egg rolls again as there was not much inside of them and were mainly just bread on the inside. The com suon nuong (grilled pork chop on rice) was very flavorful. It came with lettuce, a couple slices of tomato and cucumber as well. The bun cha gio also came in a large portion and was pretty good. The bo kho was ok. They don't do the bun bo hue justice here though. The broth was bland and lacking the authentic flavor of bun bo hue. Highly recommend their ca phe sua (drip coffee with condensed milk), which are made to order, so make sure to order that first because it can take sometime for the coffee to drip. Holy moly, their broth is so rich! This was our last spot to eat before my family headed back to the airport from a wedding weekend. I am SO glad my sister found this place on google maps. She literally typed in "pho" en route to DCA and we zoomed straight to their strip mall parking lot. It was Labor Day and they were open on Monday. Each of us (4 total) got a steaming bowl of pho. I had the #2 large. Their broth was so comforting, aromatic, and delicious. Their portions of meat were generous as well! I'd skip the iced coffee. We got two orders and one was really sweet (overboard with the condensed milk) and the other was fine, but it filled maybe a third of a styrofoam cup with ice already in a majority of the cup. It didn't suffice. I know the ice is supposed to dilute the coffee, but save your $4.00 (stick to pho) and then hop next door to BAMBU for some Vietnamese sweets/coffee. Pho 24 is definitely a no frills, family-owned spot. It's not fancy. I did not expect to be impressed. But I was surprised by how MARVELOUS their broth was, which made the pho amazing. Sleepy and unassuming from the outside, this restaurant was lively inside and served delicious food - that's all we needed before a flight back to the Midwest. Popped in here with the hubby last week. This was his introduction to pho. I wish it had been a better experience but it did the job. This is not a place for a pho introduction partly because there was communication barrier. I ended up giving an abbreviated introduction which thankfully got the job done. The pho itself was A-OK. Not the best but certainly not bad. The broth and noodles were fine, worth noting the noodles are thin (my previous pho experiences have involved thicker noodles). The jalapeno slices were lacking. The sprouts were fresh and added nice texture. Hubby stuck with what came in the bowl and was contented. One of the few pho places open after 9:30 in this stretch of NoVA. Plentiful parking in the shared lot of this strip set back from the main road, but they also deliver. Not much to choose from in the grab'n'go beverage fridge. Some printed specials taped to the wall. I did mean to come here for pho... but then I saw the goat curry on the regular menu. Service was friendly and polite, and open to adjusting the spice level of the dish. My only mistake was in opting for the French bread: slightly crusty, perhaps a day old. They packed the pickled cucumbers with a slightly thicker sauce in a separate container than the flavorful goat meat. Minimally fatty cuts tender enough to be falling off the bones. Second visit we tried the pho and bun bo hue. Garnishes for both are similar, with the difference being culantro with the pho and finely sliced cabbage with the other. Both broths are light (low star anise, moderate cinnamon), but the low-oil sate sauce on the tables and an offered mam ruoc jar help with doctoring. Latter had two pig knuckles, a wedge of congealed pig's blood, a couple slices of cha lua, and some slices of tender beef shank. Meat distribution with the house pho was well-balanced, with a squeaky meatball. I'd definitely come back for more curry with rice, and the lau thai hotpot offered after 5 pm. read more

I've been to quite a few Vietnamese restaurants before but pho 24 is the probably the most authentic one I've ever tried. Came soon after they were open so tables were available and we were able to get our food really quick. Whenever I go to Viet restaurants I always get the rice vermicelli dish (nothing new) so that's what I ordered. I believe it's the perfect dish cause its light and not too heavy to the point where you feel full and want to die. Lol. It comes with vermicelli noodles, marinated beef, a side of fish sauce and an assortment of veggies. You also have the option to throw in an egg roll for an extra 2$ which to me is always worth it cause that's what makes the dish better. The great thing about this place is that they don't skimp out on portions. They literally loaded my dish with everything compared to other places I've had before so you do get your moneys worth. Ever since I went back to Viet Nam and had Pho there, it's been hard to eat Pho anywhere because it can never be as good, sad to say. The usual places I use to frequent pretty often were Pho 75 and Pho 50, but recently I decided to give Pho 24 a try. What I liked about this place is they are open later than most Pho places, which gives me time to get here on a cold day, which I find is the appropriate weather to enjoy a hot bowl of Pho. This place is easy to find, it's in a Plaza with a few other shops like Haha Pink, Tikal Bakery, and etc. It was a pretty spacious restaurant with plenty of tables so you can sit anywhere you'd like. As usual they offer all the different types of Pho you would see on other menus. Except, I like that they do a different format where they put a list of toppings on the top and give you the option to add it. Since I'm Viet, I browse the menu but usually I don't need to look at the menu because I just order what I normally get, either Pho Tai Nam or Pho Bo Vien. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee that comes out with the filter and a cup of ice. I must say, the coffee did not disappoint. I'm impressed because some places, give you the coffee already made... Like what??! It's all about the experience, tbh, and I like to wait for the coffee to finish dripping, and then mix it to my liking as it can be too sweet if I mix it with all of the condensed milk. The coffee was dark and was perfect, not too sweet or too bitter. Anyways back to the Pho. It came out after a reasonable amount of time. My friend ordered the Bun Bo Hue. She said they make it pretty decent there. From the reviews, I saw that other people said the same. I tried some of hers and I thought it was okay haha, but nothing beats homemade! The pho was great! The broth was well done, and there was enough meat. Some places, I notice, do not give you enough meat, so by the time you get halfway done with your bowl, you're out of meat. I like my pho with a lime, and some Sriracha sauce, and of course it was available at the table. They also bring out the toppings like bean sprouts, leaves, and jalapeños. The service was great! The lady that took our order was very nice and helpful. She brought out the order too, and was consistent on checking to see if we were doing okay. Other than that, when they were about to close, I made another order to-go for some Bun Bo Hue for my mom, and the lady took my order and was totally cool about it. I really appreciated it, because I know how it can be when you want to just close up and go home. Well I'm glad that I've finally found a decent place to eat Pho in Annandale. The food is decent. However, to my horror, this place doesn't seems to clear about food safety or cleanliness issues. I got in around 9pm on a Friday and was served promptly. No biggie, people have to sneeze from time to time. Much to my dismay, he proceed to sit down and picked his nose multiple times. The hours listed in yelp and google, the place is open until 11 PM. We called ahead just to be sure and the lady who answered the phone confirmed that they are open until 11. Since I live close by we got there at 9:50, only to get refused. The owner was cleaning up and was pretty rude claiming they close at 10. The person who answered the phone remain silent since she was the only lady working there and likely answered the phone. Pointing towards the owner as he rules. I have been on a seemingly decade long quest searching the area for a Bun Bo Hue that resembles mother's. Dare I say, this comes close! Rich and spicy, all of the correct garnishes and exquisitely satisfying on a cold day. Very typical pho place. Service is terrible. But it's clean, and their food is good. This is definitely my frequent Pho place! If you want a simple beef noodle soup for this fall weather, this is totally your place! The shop setup can be deceiving (quite small and simple) but their Pho quality speaks for itself... there are so many selections for the meat cut which are quite limited if you go to Pho 75 or other Pho places in the neighborhood. My husband is a die-hard fan of brisket and they are typically more expensive than other cuts so there are not many Pho places allow you to order just brisket (normally there are fillers with beef round, meatballs which we don't like at all!). Pho 24 allows you to mmix and match whatever cuts you want! And they are delicious! The price tag is also the reason we come here AT LEAST once a week! Two of us with huge bowls of Pho and total bill is ~$20! You can't beat that at any other places :) One thing is parking is quite limited so be aware of busy times like dinner and maybe try for lunch. read more

My boyfriend ordered spring rolls as an appetizer; not knowing it had shrimp. The boyfriend is allergic to shrimp so naturally we asked if it could be taken off the bill since he would not be eating them. The manager told him he couldn't take them off the bill so we explained the situation and still he refused to give as a refund. He instead told him to take the shrimp out and eat it with out. We then asked if we could exchange it for something else and he said no. We told him that the customer service was horrible and he replied with , "I don't care!".
