When I visited this restaurant, as soon as you walk in the door someone is trying to direct you to a have a seat from the back of the restaurant. They were friendly and have 1 tv for guest to view while waiting. They give you a cup of water with a straw included. I ordered my food and someone dropped off a set of utensils. As I sat there I noticed some guys sitting at one of the dining tables rolling silverware. No problem I have seen this before in different places. At another table was 2 ladies hand rolling egg rolls. I noticed a guy brought out a bowl full of filling which they used to fill the egg rolls. They rolled the egg rolls by hand (no gloves) on the BARE dining room table. What I didn't understand was , "Why would you prepare the egg rolls on the same tables your customers eat on?" This is very unsanitary. Once they were rolled and stacked, the ladies would get up and leave them on the table unattended while customers walked back/forth past them. For these same unsanitary practices, I cannot recommend customers to your establishment. read more

This place really took a turn for the worst this past year. We've gotten the Bo kno to go twice now and both times it was ice cold. They clearly took it out of the freezer to defrost for a couple hours and just packaged it up. You can tell by the fat congealed on the lid. I just moved back to the DC area after living in SE Asia and Pho 24 definitely hit my Pho spot. Granted, the broth isn't my favorite broth but if you've eaten a lot of Pho you know each region has different flavor profiles. Pho 24 is the BEST five spice flavored broth I have ever had stateside (I just happen to like a bit more ginger in mine but thats a personal preference and should NOT take away from this fantastic broth). We had 2 bowls of the Pho 24, the Bun Cha (Crispy Pork over Vermicelli noodles) and the fresh spring rolls. Everything was perfectly flavored. I am so happy I live so close to this place. And at $35 for our meal that fed 3 people I have zero complaints about the price. read more

I begged and begged for him to take me to Pho Sate but as usual he insisted on going to his new favorite hot spot (he has a new one every week...if Yelp allowed reviews in Vietnamese he would be given a black badge in a heart beat). "Pho Sate is for amateurs," he laughed heartily as he drove the back roads to a non-descript shopping center I have never heard of in Annandale. I ordered my usual pho tai. He, the Bun Bo Hue (did I mention he also thinks eating pho in general is for amateurs?!?). It was about 11:00 in the morning and my broth was full of rich beef flavor and aromatic herbs. Not too different from of my other favorite places around town except for the the following caveats: 1) They accept credit cards (Mastercard/Visa only) 2) A bowl of pho is only $5.95 at lunch time, Monday through Friday. Pho is already one of the cheapest, heartiest deals around but at this price...they are practically giving it away! Dare I say it? Best Pho in the area. You can tell by the color of their broth that it's packed with aromatic, beefy flavor. I know some pho restaurants serve Northern style, but who in their right mind likes delicate and tasteless broth. They do not skimp on the beef either; my last visit I couldn't even finish all the meat. I felt like they should of charged me extra for all that meat! Average amount of noodles and only $8 for a large. Most people who have no tastebuds for pho will think it all tastes the same. So what do people with no tastebuds judge a restaurant on then? The service. Yes, I agree that the service here is comically bad, but in my opinion, the pho should speak more loudly than the person giving it to you. Most Viet servers have not adjusted to "Western mannerisms" so they come off down right rude. Not a lot of people know about Pho 24, but if they improved their service then surely more people will realize how good their Pho is! read more

My bf ordered 2 entrees, a pho & chicken dish, (he eats a lot) and I had pho, extra meat. The pho had just a lil extra flavor of what he said was anise but none the less it was good. We both ordered extra meat in our pho and i really felt like i could tell the difference. He also ordered a steamed white rice and chicken dish. Came here because we had a coupon and felt like giving it a try. The pho is standard. I got the #7 Tai. Broth is lacking a bit in flavor but the meat was tender. The spring rolls were SO good, wish I ordered 2 plates instead of just 1. The reason this place gets 3 stars is because the service was atrocious. The lady stood looking at us for a good 5 minutes before she approached our table to ask what we wanted to drink. It's the right amount of sweetness that it should be, you could honestly get away with not putting in any hoisin or siracha sauce. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the staff/service but let's be real... have you ever gone to a pho restaurant and had superb service? Me and my family eat at different Pho places once a month. Our Vietnamese friend had recommended this place to us so we decided to stop by and check it out. My mom ordered a vegetarian Pho while me, my brother, and two sisters ordered beef pho. When we got there my first impressions that it is very clean and simple. Wide spaces to walk through. A counter in the back and a refrigerator with drinks. We were greeted and seated immediately. While ordering there was a little miscommunications since the person taking our order didn't seem to use English as his first language. After some repeating we finally got our order out. The food took very quick to come out. It was a 10 minute wait at the most. The Pho came out steaming hot. Once everything was set down my mother wanted me to try the broth and taste if there was anything in the broth. (Beef bones, chicken,etc) since she is a strict vegetarian. I took a sip and was surprised by the flavor it was a nice herby corn flavor that defiantly roped the other vegetarian Pho broths my mom has had before. The beef broth was kind of disappointing for me. I love the beef flavor in the broth but this broth had a faint beef flavor with a more spice, herby flavor. After dressing my broth up with hot sauce, limes, culantro, and basil it was tasting better. The beef balls had like a little anchovie in the middle which added a nice salty bite to it. After we ate we chatted for like 5 minutes, just enjoying our stay. While we were eating and chatting the people working there just stood there and watched us eat and talk. But the way they handled situation need to be improve for sure. We found a hair in our food, and it was definitely not our hair. They didn't say anything after we mentioned the hair. The broth here is strong and flavorful. I've always wondered why my mom would go all the way to Annandale for takeout pho even though we had places 10-20 minutes away from home. This was the first time I ate in here. They had sate on the table and I had to add it in. Probably one of the most unknown pho shops in the plethora of Asian owned restaurants in the Annandale/Falls Church area. It's tucked in behind Walgreens, and in the strip mall right next to Kogiya. Aside from the service (which, I mean, what do you expect..especially if you've grown used to the norms of Vietnamese-owned restaurants), this place is great. Their broth is very rich, more so than most places I've been to. Noodles are always cooked perfectly so that they don't get too soggy as you're eating. Meat cuts are great, and I'm super picky about mine. And all of the vegetables for toppings are always freshly washed when they reach the table. Overall, great bowl of pho. I love coming home to Northern Virginia during breaks and eating here. I've also tried their bun thit nuong (VERY good portion) and their goi cuon. Up until yesterday, I hated pho. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but every time I tried pho, I'd take a bite and then push the entire bowl away. I know that everything I'm saying is blasphemous as pho is one of those foods that has a cult-like following. I tried the pho ga (chicken pho) yesterday to cure a nasty hangover. i know chicken pho isn't quite as 'advanced' as the more commonly consumed beef phos, but I'm slowly working my way there, okay? I really enjoyed the pho ga. It was clean, refreshing, and very flavorful. Although I ordered a regular, the portion size was very generous - full of chicken and lots of noodles. It definitely helped me feel more human after a night of drunk debauchery. Anything that makes my hangover better gets a thumbs-up from me. We have been living in Annandale for a long time but have not tried or heard of this place until 3 weeks ago. We were actually impressed by the food quality and service . The place looks nice, clean and spacious. Their menu does not provide a great range of food but we think they are well known for bun bo hue so we went ahead and ordered bun bo hue for both. Standard Vietnamese establishment- nothing blew me away. I got a vermicelli bowl and my family got pho. Half my vermicelli bowl was lettuce. The meat was marinated well and that was the only great thing here. They don't offer a meat and egg roll vermicelli bowl surprisingly, you have to add the egg roll for $2. Pho broth was bland, nothing great. Good thing is food came out fast as at most pho places and it was a cold day when we had gone so it hit the spot. Service was mediocre. Would come back in a few months to see if anything is different but would go elsewhere for Vietnamese food. read more

The Ph ís always Fhesh and flavoful, The restaurant also offer variety of other Vietnamese foods such as grill pork with rice and other noodle soup "bún bò Hu" the price is under $10 and the service is great. Pho 24 is located in a strip mall off Little River Turnpike. Like all the other pho shops in strip malls I didn't expect much. Alexis's parents have pho once a week and their spot used to be Pho 75. Out of nowhere they started frequenting Pho 24 instead due to the convenience from their house. Recently I tagged along with them to get their weekly pho on. This pho restaurant also serves more then pho so it will also cater to those who don't like pho. I ordered a large Pho Tai Chin. Standard with all other pho shops they bring out a plate of garnish which includes bean sprouts, limes, basil, and jalapeños. Compared to other pho shops I frequent, they give you more bean sprouts and basil. The broth here is clean, not too greasy and very aromatic. Unfortunately my one small complaint is that portion size is below average here. The amount of noodles and beef I received were probably equivalent to a small bowl at Pho 75. With that being said, I still throughly enjoyed my pho here as it was flavorful and not watered down. I would definitely come back keeping in mind that portion size here is small. I will opt for extra noodles and meat the next time I visit. Standard with all other pho shops, they take your order up front and once the food comes out don't expect any further service. If you live in Annandale and don't want to trek to Falls Church this is the best Pho place in my opinion. read more

Bun bo hue was good and the perfect amount of spice for me. Those who like it real spicy will need to add additional hot sauce. My boys both got small bowls of pho chin. Portions are very generous, too much meat for all three of us. Springs rolls were good too. Service was robotic but it's sad that I don't have any expectation when it comes to pho establishments anyways. I came here for the first time with my parents and boyfriend because my mom's coworker recommended this place for us. This place is actually in central Annandale and not far from a lot of other places. It is located in a small shopping mall center behind Chicken Pollo ( spelling might be off). Te parking is small but not crowded. I came here on a sunday around 12pm and wasn't crowded at all. The restaurant itself had like few customers but half empty, so the wait wasn't long at all. We were greeted by the servers and we were seated right away in the middle of the restaurant. The place is spacious between each table, so it isn't like every other asian restaurants where tables are literally next to each other. The place is big inside but outside looks really small. My dad and boyfriend ordered Pho 24 (which also known as pho dac biet), my mom and I ordered pho tai nam. The wait wasn't long for the food to come out, I was very pleased with the service. We ordered four large and it came out pretty big. The bowl wasn't fill with just broth but also a lot of noodles and beefs. The noodle was hot enough with the broth and the flavor was rich. The most impressive part is the meats, the meats were thin and they gave a lot for each bowl. I have never been to any pho that they give you decent amount of meats or noodle for large, they usually just fill the bowl with a lot of broth, My family, boyfriend and I were definitely really satisfied with the meals and the price for it. Large 7.95 and Regular is 6.95. Since this place has good quality for the food and so close to where I lived, I will definitely recommend this place to others that live around the area and I will definitely come back if I ever crave for pho (which I do almost every weekend). I came to Pho 24 because this is now my dad's go-to pho restaurant, and he is SERIOUS about his pho. The man can eat pho every single day of the week. He considers pho one of the best dishes in the world. He is also a very picky pho eater, and he will never settle for anything less than exceptional pho. The pho landscape in this area is rather sad. Most people will settle for mediocre pho, and there are more so-so and bad ones than good ones in the DC metropolitan area. Anyway, so what was I doing in a pho place if I don't eat meat? Well Tom N. does. And he said the Pho 24's pho was an "8/10." You're going to have to read his review for the full report. As for me, I got the vegetarian pho. Most of the time, the business cheats--same broth (beef bone-based) and no meat. Here they actually do use a vegetarian broth. My bowl had plenty of broccoli, some cabbage, and fat chunks of tofu. I'm glad that they were generous with the broccoli, though I wish they had added carrot for color and more interest. It was very soothing and delicious. Also would have liked a little more salt, but they managed to make good use of the vegetables' flavors. Besides the vegetarian pho, there really aren't many other options for people who don't eat meat. I think it's expected, as this is the norm in most pho restaurants. Now onto the service--I appreciated how the server asked me if I wanted raw or cooked bean sprouts. That's nice to consider. Most of the time you just have to ask for it, so it's nice that this woman thought of it. The owner/manager thanked us as we left; that's always nice. The restaurant is clean, comfortable, and spacious. They must like this Vietnamese singer, Minh Tuyet, because it was one Minh Tuyet song after another. I stopped by here yesterday to see if this place was any good, as it is in kind of a weird area in downtown Annandale. When we first entered the restaurant, it was empty at 6 PM, which is never a good sign for a restaurant (even though I know this is relatively new.) However, much to my surprise, this place was actually pretty good! I ordered a large pho and spring rolls, and the pho was massive, yet the broth was actually pretty well balanced and the meat was fresh (not having that rubbery feel which can be a huge problem for other pho restaurants.) The spring rolls were also pretty good and my brothers vermicelli noodle dishes also seemed quite good. The few demerits are that the service was on the slow side (despite us being the only people there) and it was just a bit pricey. Other then that though, this is a huge improvement over Pho Hot & Pho Hai Duong, so we'll definitely be back! One more good note: this place is actually open till 11 every night, so it gives Annandale some late night food options aside from fast food & korean bbq. read more

I came here a couple times while they had their grand opening special. As a Vietnamese and somewhat of a pho connoisseur by default d/t having a mother who cooks amaaaaaaazing pho, I would have to say that this place is one of the better places in the local Annandale area. I actually like their #1 on the menu (pho with everything in it and even meatballs). It's quite a deal, actually. Usually other pho places who have the special with everything, they don't include meatballs (bo vien). Oh and for the culantro lovers, they do include them in their dish of pho accompaniments (beans sprouts and basil). Culantro just takes pho up another notch----- it's a fact. So I've taken a liking to their pho. I may just have to stop at this place when I'm too lazy to drive out to falls church for my go to place. read more
