Pho 510 is located on the top floor of the Castro Valley Marketplace, which is a food court/grocery similar to a mini version of Emeryville's Public Market. Its a good sized restaurant and has a bit of a modern sports bar feel, with decorative wall art and FIFA World Cup Playing. We came here for lunch and ordered: Pork Chop Rice (5 stars) - The pork was bone-in, thin, and packed with sweet-savory flavor. BBH - Wife seemed to enjoy this classic Vietnamese noodle dish with lemongrass broth and thinly-sliced beef shank. I tasted some of the broth and it was pretty good. Grilled Chicken Vermicelli (4 stars) - I liked this dish too but to be honest I was a bit nervous eating it. The chicken was skin-on and thick. The meat was juicy and seasoned but man it was on the verge of being undercooked, only it was not and had no pink spots. Kudos to the Chef but I'm actually okay with sacrificing some flavor and having a firmer texture next time. With such a big and busy restaurant you'll have to be proactive in flagging down the servers. Service was friendly though and they have clean restrooms in the back of the facility.
Never expected this, but this place has probably one of the best beef phoI've ever had in the Bay Area. I have been to the marketplace numerous times and new restaurant was on the second floor, but never had time to try. I'm glad I finally did. The rice noodle was chewy and the soup was flavorful, but the star was the rare rib eye beef and the brisket! They were both not only full of flavors but super tender! I could tell the beef was of high end grade and cut. Just for this I would go back again. We also got tasty egg rolls. The staff was friendly and there are plenty of tables to sit at. Being in the marketplace it also felt open and comfortable. Highly recommended!
Extremely solid pho place! I love the vibe and the servers and waitstaff were really friendly and very attentive as well (we had two servers drop by while we were waiting for our friend to check on us). I particularly loved the garlic fries and really enjoyed my beef ribeye and brisket pho. The beef was tender and slightly chewy (the way I like it)!
Pho-510 is a great Vietnamese place in the Castro Valley Marketplace. The staff were all wearing shirts with an "Eat Healthy Leave Happy" tagline. This summarizes a vibe the owners want to make obvious. The owner made certain that all parties felt loved for coming. Pho-510 is women owned and the owner we talked with has a Vietnamese heritage. We had one of the chicken soups to which we added a large portion of steamed vegetables. We had a mix but the owner volunteered to make a custom mix from her list of vegetables. We started with a shrimp spring roll as pictured. The sauce appeared to be a peanut sauce. It added nicely to the spring rolls. The Pho soup was nicely prepared and had a large portion of chicken. We really liked the combination of flavors. We need to get back there on our next visit to get you some more pictures. We visit the marketplace regularly to get bread from Seven Hills Baking, meat from Barrons and produce from Castro Valley Natural Grocery. So now we have a great place for lunch. We strongly recommend you give them a try.
Pho 510 was a surprisingly nice find for Vietnamese food in CV! I was in CV on a recent Saturday with my family for an event. My son in-law suggested Vietnamese food at this restaurant for lunch after finding it on a Google search. We arrived about 12:45pm and were immediately seated. We were lucky because a steady flow of patrons started to arrive. Their menu had a good variety which made it challenging to decide what to order. Upon finally deciding we placed our orders and they quickly arrived. We all really liked what we ordered: Crispy egg roll, Banh Mi chicken sandwich, Beef Brisket Pho noodles and Grilled Pork Bun Vermicelli bowl. Our consensus was all of the dishes we had were flavorful. Plus they had Vietnamese Egg Coffee really hit the spot! Very friendly service and the dining area was neat and clean. Nice atmosphere with large screen TVs (showing World Cup finals!). I usually go to Pho Play when I'm in CV, but next time I will have to come back here to Pho 510.

This cute little restaurant is located upstairs in the CV Marketplace. There's a few parking spots on the street out front, but there's also a parking lot next to/behind the building. My mom brought me & my grandparents one night to check it out since it opened recently. She told us she's been there a couple times since they opened & there was a bit of a wait, but luckily when we came, we were seated right away. There's about 15-20 total tables to dine in. Once you arrive, there's a host stand where you check in & they'll get you seated. Once we were seated, we were greeted by one of the friendly servers & given the menus along with water. We noticed on the menu that Monday-Friday from 3-5pm is 15% off appetizers, so we got the shrimp spring rolls to share. I ordered the pho with brisket & enjoyed it - it was a good amount of noodles and meat & the broth was flavorful. I'd definitely come back again the next time I'm in Castro Valley :)
Came here with some friends. I ordered the Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl, and we shared the Banh Beo Chen (Vietnamese Steamed Rice Cakes). The Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl was good! Loved it. I would order it again. Portions were generous. It could possibly be two meals, but decided to just finish it since I mixed it all together with the fish sauce. The Banh Beo Chen was good as well! Never had those before, but would order it again! The owner came to our table to make sure everything was okay. Very sweet lady. So nice. Definitely would come back to order the same thing or to try other things as well. Hope this place stays around for a long time.
The rice pork plate is BEST thing we've tried here! The meat is perfectly flavored and cooked. The rice pork place also comes with some soup, and some pickled veggies so it's the perfect balance. The pho here is good as well, but I come here craving soup and noodles and end up getting the pork plate! Located upstairs inside the food market! There's also a parking lot in the back of the market that I've always been able to find parking in!
Friendly service and tasty food. Vietnamese coffee is strong and refreshing. Cherimoya shake was so yummy. Had the combination fried rice and it was a generous serving. Grilled pork rice plate was on point. Tender, flavorful pork slices with steamed rice, veggies and soup. I will go back to this place. I just dont get being charged 3% for using credit card.
This place is a keeper! I came here on a Friday for lunch and it was a packed house, almost every table was filled. Their menu looks pretty solid with standard Vietnamese dishes and then some. I ordered the grilled pork bun. I'm usually pretty picky about this dish but they did a good job. The ratio of the ingredients were good - including the meat. My friend had the chicken rice and it was a good amount of food too. I'd love to go back to try their pho and banh beo. Service was excellent. Super chill space upstairs at the marketplace. Will be back!
We have dined in the Castro Valley Marketplace many times, and I don't know how we missed Pho 5-10. It is such a gem. The staff were so friendly on our visit, and the food was really delicious with generous portions. The restaurant is on the second floor mezzanine level so there was an open floor plan. On one wall was a mural of the beautiful Halong Bay in Vietnam. Perhaps it is because the location is inside a market hall that we didn't have high expectations, and the extensive menu also gave us second thoughts on whether the kitchen can execute well on such broad offerings. Since this is our first time here, we ordered our usual standards- beef pho, grilled beef over rice, grilled pork chops over rice, grilled chicken over rice vermicelli, and shrimp salad. The beef pho came first. The broth tasted phenomenal, and the beef slices were thin and succulent. It came with fresh and delicate herbs and green chiles, which we quickly add to the broth. Next came the grilled meats, and both the grilled beef and pork chops had that smoky grilled flavor, and the marinade was sensational. The plates were huge and on it there were big mounds of rice, generous salads on the side, and a small bowl of clear broth. A small dish of fish sauce was provided if you want to add it to the rice and salad for more flavor. As we were waiting for the next dish, our server came out and apologetically informed us that they had just run out of the grilled chicken, and the chef is preparing a fresh batch, but we would need to wait around 25 minutes for the meat to be seasoned. We didn't want to wait so we opted for the grilled pork, and it was a good choice, as the grilled pork was just as good as the grilled beef and pork chops aforementioned. Our daughter had the shrimp salad, and the portion was large. We thought she wouldn't finish it, but to our surprise, she cleaned up the plate until there is nothing left. It was that good! We are glad that we finally discovered Pho5-10 and we will be back to explore more of the extensive menu.

This restaurant is located inside the marketplace Service and Staff: - There is a host stand that you can wait at to get seated - There is seating inside the restaurant and just outside of the restaurant Food: - Pho Tai: the bowl is quite large (which makes sense given the prices here). Bomb! And the Walking distance from my place makes Pho 510 my new go to Vietnamese spot! Beautiful location. Extra friendly staff! Cody was my server and he was welcoming, personable and attentive without being excessive. I ordered grilled chicken Bun and veggie fried spring rolls (to enjoy in the bowl), everything was cooked fresh to order, great quality, so well made absolutely delicious. Heavy emphasis on great quality. If you've frequented any Viet spots in Oakland then you know what I mean. The coffee is perfect and guaranteed to keep you wired! I will be returning! read more

Beautiful new space in the mezzanine of the Castro Valley Marketplace food hall. Owner is extremely friendly and kind. I saw her patiently explaining the menu to those unfamiliar with Vietnamese food and making recommendations, as well as hugging returning customers. The dac biet is $30, while the other pho options are $21. Coconut pandan waffle is a steal at $3, and the Vietnamese coffee was quite tasty, even if I will always be a hardcore Lee's Sandwiches devotee when it comes to this drink. read more

Castro Valley Marketplace is turning into a dining destination with a growing number of diverse eateries. One of the latest additions is Pho 5-10, a super friendly Vietnamese restaurant on the second floor with an extensive menu. We started with Banh Beo Chen, a plate of seven steamed rice & tapioca flour cakes topped with a crunchy mixture of shrimp, fried pork, and scallions, served with fish sauce on the side. The Banh Mi 5-10 Special was a creative take on a Vietnamese sandwich, filled with tender slow-cooked beef brisket (the same cut served in their pho), picked onions, pickled carrots/daikon, cucumber, jalapeño, cilantro, and mayo, served with pho broth on the side for dipping--just like a French dip sandwich! The Pho 5-10 Dac Biet was their house special pho made with a variety of beef cuts including flank, brisket, tripe, tendon, and meatballs, along with all the typical condiments of bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeño. The special also came with an extra side of soup with raw thinly-sliced Angus Prime Ribeye, which was cooked to a tender consistency right in the hot broth. Next, the Grilled Porkchop Combo Rice Plate came with a deliciously marinated and grilled bone-in pork chop, steamed egg cake, and sugarcane shrimp, served with rice, salad (lettuce, tomato, picked carrots/daikon), bone broth, and fish sauce. Finally, the Combination Stir Fry Noodle was a plate of yakisoba noodles stir-fried with chicken, shrimp, and mixed vegetables--a seemingly straight-forward but surprisingly tasty dish! Overall, the food here was fresh, vibrant, and delicious, and the service was super friendly too! The menu prices seemed a bit high but was still a fair value for the quality of dishes and the decent portion sizes. read more

It's nice to have another pho restaurant in castro valley. My husband and I dined in yesterday evening after I got off work. Parking: restaurant is located inside castro Valley marketplace so you can park in the designated parking lot. Spots are a bit tight though. Ambiance: completely remodeled prior to opening. It's a small spot located on the second floor of the marketplace. All table seating and tables were spaced perfectly apart. This is a great spot for a casual date or a family dinner. Service: 5/5. We were seated immediately and waters were provided as soon as we sat down. Food arrival time after ordering was short and they gave us the check immediately after we finished our food. Very efficient. Food: (3.5/5). I ordered the ribeye filet pho and the rice cakes. The star of the show is the rice cakes. The provided fish sauce was light. Portion sizes were generous given the price charged. The pho soup probably had MSG in it since both my husband and I ended up drinking a lot of water a few hours after the meal. This is nestled in the CV Marketplace that houses a grocery, butcher shop, bakery, and other restaurants. The place was busy, but we snagged a table for the five of us (four adults, one kid). Two appetizers, four main dishes, and three drinks came to about $130. Busy as it was, a few pauses to catch our server's eye, but I have to give them credit. Everyone pitched in to meet our needs, bring food, refills, etc. All very positive and friendly. Special props to our main waitress who graciously cleaned up a big water spill my kid managed early on. We all enjoyed our food. Egg rolls were crispy and savory. Curry was pleasant, but not overpowering or spicy hot. My kid scarfed everything we let him eat. Overall, well balanced flavors without any extremes, which I like. Baseline seems low spice, so look for spicier items or ask for more heat if you like that. read more

We actually weren't planning to eat here at all. We were just at the CV Marketplace to check out the building which I had the privilege of working on its renovation/retrofit design before the pandemic. While walking around, we spotted a "Grand Opening" sign upstairs, and curiosity got the better of us. So even without any dinner plans, we ended up trying a few appetizers. As soon as we sat down, we were warmly welcomed by Rayn, the friendliest server ever. He even gave us complimentary chopsticks and Thai Tea--such a nice touch! Out of the 4x2 Combo Appetizer, the Crispy Egg Roll was my favorite. I'll definitely come back to explore more from their massive menu. read more
Always nice to see a new restaurant pop up in Castro Valley, especially inside the marketplace. Stopped by at around 5:45pm on a Sunday and luckily beat the crowd that arrived closer to 6:15-6:45. As it is their grand opening weekend, service wasn't the best and could be improved. Lots of waiters running around trying to tend to all the tables. Our table also had no napkin dispenser, so we had to flag someone down for that. P31 Rare Steak/Ribeye: (4/5) fairly soft steak! Broth was good and clean tasting and salted well. There were a lot of noodles in the bowl, so you would be full if you ate the whole thing. Fairly expensive at $20.95, when compared to Pho Ha Noi where you can get a steak and boneless short rib for pretty much the same price (and more flavorful). A7 Fried Egg Roll: (3.8/5) came pre cut, which was nice. Tasted good but I wish it came with mint. I would say this was pretty standard! BM15 Banh Mi 5-10 Special: (4.5/5) surprised by this sandwich. Very soft slow cooked brisket inside. I wish it had pickled carrots and daikon inside, but it did have pickled onions and jalapeño. It became even softer and easier to eat when dipped in the pho au jus. Coconut Pandan Waffle: (4.5/5) I was surprised they had this as a dessert, and for $3, it was definitely worth it. We ordered this with the rest of our food, and it also came out at the same time (wish they had waited until after we were done with our entrees). By the time we got to it, it wasn't that hot and it was on the softer side (almost mochi-like which wasn't bad too). The taste was good - tasted a bit more coconut than pandan. read more

My Dr. brought us here as a work outing for lunch because it was a rainy cold day and boy was this place the hot spot! It was packed at lunch time and it's not the only place on the plaza but it was the only place that had a line to be seated so I knew it was gonna be good! It met my expectations and beyond! The service was fantastic and the food was chefs kiss amazing! The depth of flavor in the broth and the shrimp fried rice I got was so so good. I love how the restaurant is like an open dining concept since it's like in a food hall but you still feel like your have a quality meal in a sit down restaurant. This is a cute little spot on the mezzanine level of this location. There is an elevator up to that floor. We were greeted by a friendly server twice while they were working on clearing tables. My pho was hot and the broth was delicious. The kids meal included a kids size soda. They did forget to bring the soda but we got it before we left. Came here on a cold night and met some friends here for dinner. We put in our name as it was a Saturday night and it was busy. Took about 20-30 minutes for a table of 4. Service was friendly. Our friends ordered the pork chop and beef brisket pho while hubby had the combination stir fried noodles and I also had the pork chop. I tried some of hubby's noodles and it was tasty plus he gave me all his black mushrooms which he doesn't like. Loved it here. Our first time and we got there early since we knew it was a popular spot. We were seated right away and were able to relax and enjoy our food. The menu had so many options that we will definitely have to come back for more. We ordered the banh mi thit nuong (grilled pork) and the pho ga (chicken) plus we had pandan waffles for dessert. Everything was delicious. By the time we left there was a big line waiting to get in. I recommend going early so you don't have to wait too long. It's worth it. read more

Average pho. The workers are really nice but they can be skimpy on the selection of toppings. They don't give cilantro or sprouts. It's mainly mint, lime, jalapeños which is fine but I want the whole spread! This place is a bit pricey, not surprising since it's located in the CV Marketplace. Ever since I've ate at Pho Auntie 7 nothing beats it. Thai tea is so expensive it's around $8 and the soup is almost $20 but that's this economy anyways... I don't know why I haven't come here before, but definitely changes this new year! This place is like a hidden gem in the Castro Valley Market Place, upstairs! If don't mind the extra noise, you have to visit here! I got their pho house special and no regrets. Like, look at the picture, that angus prime ribeye~ Their prices are a bit on the higher end, but what pho place isn't nowadays. The only difference is that this place is definitely worth the money! Everyone I ate with was satisfied with their meal and look forward to coming again! Went here 2 times and you can tell who runs the place, they know what they're doing, because great service and just very nice people in general. They have limited space and on the weekend, they are busy for suuure, but worth the wait, especially since you can just explore what the market has to offer. We enjoy the Castro Valley Marketplace and were excited to see a new Vietnamese option in there! We were even more excited when we found out that Pho 510 was connected to Le Cheval in Oakland! It always seems to be busy (which says good things) so we finally made it in for a lunch. The menu is pretty extensive, quite a good selection to choose from! My wife got the grilled pork rice plate and I got a pork stir fried noodle. Both dishes were good, both in quality and portion. The rice plate was very unique with the sugar cane shrimp and steam egg cake, items we don't always see on a menu at a Vietnamese place! Bonus points for the service, the host (owner?) was super friendly and welcoming. Our kid has a peanut allergy so we asked her about allergens as Vietnamese places aren't always the best for that. However, she assured us that with her having a relative with allergies, it is something that the restaurant takes seriously and can accommodate. Always good to know and great to have a peanut safe option! I've been back a couple times and it was good both times. I've gotten a pork chop rice plate which was really tasty and my brisket and ribeye pho was great too! Excellent broth, noodles had a nice consistency, and the meat was really tender. Overall Pho 510 is a little on the pricey side but the quality and service are great! read more

Very consistent! The service has vastly improved since they opened. I'm happy they've figured it out and got the system down. I'm glad! During this time of the year we always looking for a good hot soup for our tummy to satisfied our tastbuds, we accidentally saw this place while we were walking inside the building with so many small stores attached. We came by Friday night it was a lot of customers filling up their tables and we thought we won't be serve right away but we got a table for two. We ordered soup for two since we were starving and cold it was the best soup we had. I devoured it in no time lol. Plenty of meat, veggies and enough noodle it didn't overpowered the soup. This is our new place to go for hot soup will damned the another place we go there for years since their engredients getting less appealing. read more

The food here is fresh and authentic! Their Thai tea isn't too sweet so if you prefer tasting the tea this is the perfect Thai tea for you! The yellow curry isn't sweet like others I've tried but it still has a pleasant taste! The service is great the waiters are kind and make sure you enjoying your food. The design was very tasteful. The silver brick in the kitchen allowed the space to look larger than it really is with its brightness! The food itself was very enjoyable to me! Pho 510 opened recently in Hermanos Verdes' vacated space on the mezzanine in Castro Valley Marketplace. Semi-open kitchen. Seating, infrastructure similar. New murals on the walls . Subtle music. More vibrant music comes from La Perla next door. Quickly & courteously seated near entrance. Ordered promptly. pho came in 5 ish minutes. Pho was recommended by Hokkaido owner nearby. Offerings (traditional Vietnamese): Pho, appetizers, extras, vermicelli bowls, extra side items, sandwiches, salads, stir fried rice dishes/noodles, kid's menu, drinks & desserts, rice plates, fried rice, rice clay pots.. Slurps: Pho Tai Gan (20.95) one size-large? Bowl didn't have a shallow bottom as many Pho places. -broth steamy hot, full beef flava as expected from 24 hour bone broth. No noticeable sodium taste. Nuanced complex broth infused by star anise, cinnamon, charred onions, ginger & herbal spices. Good to the last drop! -toppings were basil, bean sprouts, jalepeno slices, lime wedges, spring onions. -noodles wasn't aplenty. Plenty of very tender rib eye slices thicker than usual which explains the tenderness. Many Medium tender tendons mostly hiding under the noodles at bottom. -unlike a well known chain in South Bay also touting 24 hour broth, there was no pressure to eat quick & leave. Better taste & value here. *only concern was the big wooden box holding the utensils, condiments, napkins. No room for a 2d entree if ordered. **Sriracha tasted weak, watery. Issue with packer who has quality control problems with sourced chilies. 5 Stars: Worthy! Quantity: plentiful, reasonable price. Quality: impeccable fresh, top level ingredients. Cody, the server, recommended the rice clay pot. I miss the Banh Beo I had in San Jose. read more

Called in a pickup order for a Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl. Didn't realize it was on the second floor of the Castro Valley Marketplace until I went to go pick it up. The cashier was friendly. Nice dining area. When I got back to my car to eat, I found it difficult to mix and eat from the takeout container it was in. It wasn't my favorite vermicelli bowl, I felt it lacked herbs. It just had lettuce, some pickled carrots and daikon, along with the pork and vermicelli noodles. I might have to come back to try their pho. read more

First time here. Server was very nice. They also comped our 12 year old daughter's pho soup as a giveback program they're doing for the month of November. Overall, the atmosphere is decent. Comfortable seating. I will say they could improve on the timing of when they bring the food out. My wife's meal came after we were done eating. Also the chicken wing appetizer came probably 10 minutes after we're done eating our main meal. Regarding the food. Everything was decent. We got spring rolls, their special chicken wings, crispy egg rolls, the grilled pork combo rice plate and the chicken and shrimp vermicelli bowl. Food was fairly priced. We'd come back mainly because the staff were super polite and helpful. read more
It's a really nice addition to CV. Women owned business by 3 partners. One of them is the front of the house manager but she does it all and is the main server. Super friendly and easy to talk to. However, I am really not impressed by their food. I've twice to ensure I can make an informed review. Here's what I've tried: - pandan waffle: we we're practically done with our meal and we still haven't received this waffle yet so we told the owner/server and she said the machine had to warm up so it's taking longer than expected. We were already full so we didn't want it anymore. She was kind enough to take it out of the bill and still gave it to us. Though it didn't taste horrible. It's not a the waffle that I had expected. It wasn't crispy and it wasn't marketed as mochi waffle. - pho - we wanted to go big or go home and got the house special for $29.95. The meat provided was quality, however the soup was very underwhelming and lacked in aromas. I want to be able to smell and taste the star anise, coriander, fennel, cardamon and cloves. I wasn't satisfied. I didn't want to finish the bowl. - appetizer sampler : comes with 2 of each egg roll, spring roll, tofu roll, and rocket shrimp. Came with peanut sauce for the spring rolls and a sweet and the sour sauce that tasted like it was poured from a bottle. In my opinion, Vietnamese egg rolls should be served with pieces of lettuce and fish sauce like how most traditional Vietnamese restaurants serve it. - combination stir fried noodles : who's tasted very mediocre is literally just some noodles sautéed with some meat - rice plate with pork - banh beo : the owner told us that they had just made it and it's fresh or something but when we got it, everything was cold. And I could've sworn it every time I tried that other Vietnamese restaurants this was served warm. And now I'm starting to doubt myself ?! As you can see, I feel like everything was just very mediocre. Nothing tasted extraordinary. Nothing stood out. I hate to say this, but nothing makes me wanna come back a third time. read more

Pho 510 is such a lovely addition to Castro Valley! It's on the second floor of the CV marketplace. The pho here is very high quality. The broth tastes light/clean but still very flavorful and the ingredients of the pho were very fresh. However, there was quite a wait to be seated/served on the weekend. Since it's in the marketplace, it can also be a little loud/overstimulating at times. Prices are also on the higher end. read more

Had dinner here for the first time last night. We had the pho dac biet, shrimp spring rolls, chicken banh mi and a vietnamese iced coffee. Everything was really good, including the service! Their iced coffee was surprisingly good too. And I say that as a coffee nerd. They're on the second floor, which makes the ambiance fantastic. Depending on where you sit, you have a view of the whole building and bottom floor. read more
