Finally get to dine here It's pretty lively and busy Orders and diners come and go Servers run from tables to kitchen constantly non stop That's a good sign The beef noodle soup is delicious and aromatic with herbs Pork chop is charred well and juicy love the sides of steam pork egg. The experience was great

This cute little restaurant is located upstairs in the CV Marketplace. There's a few parking spots on the street out front, but there's also a parking lot next to/behind the building. My mom brought me & my grandparents one night to check it out since it opened recently. She told us she's been there a couple times since they opened & there was a bit of a wait, but luckily when we came, we were seated right away. There's about 15-20 total tables to dine in. Once you arrive, there's a host stand where you check in & they'll get you seated. Once we were seated, we were greeted by one of the friendly servers & given the menus along with water. We noticed on the menu that Monday-Friday from 3-5pm is 15% off appetizers, so we got the shrimp spring rolls to share. I ordered the pho with brisket & enjoyed it - it was a good amount of noodles and meat & the broth was flavorful. I'd definitely come back again the next time I'm in Castro Valley :)

Came here with some friends. I ordered the Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl, and we shared the Banh Beo Chen (Vietnamese Steamed Rice Cakes). The Grilled Pork Vermicelli Bowl was good! Loved it. I would order it again. Portions were generous. It could possibly be two meals, but decided to just finish it since I mixed it all together with the fish sauce. The Banh Beo Chen was good as well! Never had those before, but would order it again! The owner came to our table to make sure everything was okay. Very sweet lady. So nice. Definitely would come back to order the same thing or to try other things as well. Hope this place stays around for a long time.

Friendly service and tasty food. Vietnamese coffee is strong and refreshing. Cherimoya shake was so yummy. Had the combination fried rice and it was a generous serving. Grilled pork rice plate was on point. Tender, flavorful pork slices with steamed rice, veggies and soup. I will go back to this place. I just dont get being charged 3% for using credit card.

The rice pork plate is BEST thing we've tried here! The meat is perfectly flavored and cooked. The rice pork place also comes with some soup, and some pickled veggies so it's the perfect balance. The pho here is good as well, but I come here craving soup and noodles and end up getting the pork plate! Located upstairs inside the food market! There's also a parking lot in the back of the market that I've always been able to find parking in!

Grilled pork bun. A good amount of meat!

This place is a keeper! I came here on a Friday for lunch and it was a packed house, almost every table was filled. Their menu looks pretty solid with standard Vietnamese dishes and then some. I ordered the grilled pork bun. I'm usually pretty picky about this dish but they did a good job. The ratio of the ingredients were good - including the meat. My friend had the chicken rice and it was a good amount of food too. I'd love to go back to try their pho and banh beo. Service was excellent. Super chill space upstairs at the marketplace. Will be back!

Came here with a friend on a Thursday evening around 6pm. This restaurant is located inside the marketplace Service and Staff: - There is a host stand that you can wait at to get seated - There is seating inside the restaurant and just outside of the restaurant Food: - Pho Tai: the bowl is quite large (which makes sense given the prices here). The chunks of beef were quite large (wish they were cut up a little smaller) - Sauces available at each table Miscellaneous: - Parking available via street parking and a parking lot connected to the marketplace - Stairs and elevators available to get to the restaurant (it's located on the second floor)

This place is my go-to for vietnamese comfort food in Castro Valley. If you are craving for rich, flavorful broth and generous portion pho, this is definitely one of the best options in the area. We also ordered their clay pot rice, even though it looked simple at first glance - the flavors are robust and comforting. My favorite part is the slightly crisp, burnt rice at the edge and bottom of the pot that adds great texture with every bite. Leave some room for dessert - their pandan waffle is a delightful and unexpected finish that's sweet, aromatic, and perfect after a big bowl of pho. Service is fast and efficient even when the restaurant is busy.

Came here on a Sunday evening and it was pretty busy, but we were seated fairly quickly. I ordered the shrimp pho (comes with chicken broth) and my husband got the chicken fried rice with a side of beef broth. Everything came out fast, which was great. Portion sizes were decent, and the shrimp pho had a generous amount of shrimp; they definitely didn't skimp. The broth was flavorful, though I personally would have preferred the rice noodles to be a bit more al dente. Still, overall the food was enjoyable. Service was quick, the restaurant was clean, and we noticed a lot of families dining here, which made it feel very kid-friendly. Solid spot overall, and we'd definitely come back again

Expensive Grilled pork banh mi 9/10 - sweet grilled pork but wish it was grilled more - bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - perfect! - not too dry which is great Appetizer sampler 7/10 - for $19 I feel like I expected more? - tofu spring roll was flavorless and lack luster peanut sauce had to carry it - shrimp spring rolls were good and decent - egg rolls were really good and my favorite part of this sampler! Wish it came w veggies and fish sauce instead of the sweet and spicy sauce - fried shrimp thing was okay but still better than that tofu spring roll Pho with Ribeye, brisket, flank, & tripe 8/10 - it's on the expensive side compared to nearby places - bowl is large but it's mostly soup so it's not like you're getting more noodles or toppings --but they do give a decent amount of meat! - soup is flavorful but not mind blowing or super unique (still a solid soup) Our food took a while to come out compared to others dining in. Service was lackluster, noticed that the serve checked on everyone else except us. I don't know why haha. We didn't get our waters refilled or extra plates for sharing. Overall, pricey for the pho but not the worst. I'd come back again in the future mainly for their banh mi though.

Pho 510 opens on the 2nd floor of the Castro Valley marketplace. The menu is the typical Pho restaurant plus 15% higher price. The combo pho $21 a bowl. The flavors are good. We had the following items: Combo Pho 4.5 stars large bowl. Not a lot of toppings good broth Combo appetizer 4 stars again 2 spring rolls 2 fried egg rolls , 2 fried rocket shrimp 2 fish cake spring rolls. $19 ( 15% off all appetizers fair happy hour after 3 pm) Garlic noodles 5 stars nice garlicky flavor egg noodles. Hard wooden benches. Table and chairs line the hallway of the 2nd floor of the marketplace. Service is good. Just like all pho joint to go container boxes adorn some of the unoccupied tables.

Came here last Saturday for a late lunch, was very excited to try this new pho place in Castro Valley! I'm a Pho Auntie loyalist, but since they had the fire we've been looking for a new pho place for those colder chilly days. Party of 2. Thankfully it was Thanksgiving break so the village parking lot wasn't super busy, but this area can get really crowded sometimes. We got two bowls of pho and an order of shrimp spring rolls to share. Pho tai is $20.95, which is definitely more expensive than the typical pho place that serves it for maybe $18 or less. Pros: - very solid pho. The noodles were good, broth was unproblematic, and the meat portions were generous. No complaints here on quality. I would say quantity is similar to a typical pho restaurant. - Really nice festive and bright ambiance, especially around the holidays you get to enjoy the Christmas decorations within the village. Pretty chill place for a date, friend hang, etc, with noise level not too quiet but you can still hear each other talk. - Easy seating for a party of 2, no wait when we went mid-afternoon. - I heard that they offered to feed people during the government shut down if their SNAP benefits weren't coming through, so that's super kind and I respect the business for doing that. - All the servers were welcoming and professional, very hospitable. Feels authentic - They have the nicer soup spoons that you can perch on your bowl without them falling easily into the soup Cons: - curiously they don't have bowl size options for the pho, like other places - the table we were at felt very small to fit 2 bowls of pho, our spring rolls, and the box that holds all the sauces and chopsticks etc. - While the service was kind and unproblematic, it did take more than 10 minutes after we were seated to have our order taken, but they genuinely looked really busy. The one thing that I think could be improved is that we got the impression that every employee was kind of responsible for everything? like each individual employee was somehow responsible or expected to be a host, take orders, and serve the food. I almost feel like streamlined roles might make it smoother and more efficient

Both items were very good and filling. I like the fact that I can choose the size of my Bun Rieu as most places only offer one size and it's usually for Pho rather than Bun Rieu. Might try their Bun Bo Hue next time. The place gets pretty packed around lunch time so it's a good sign that it's a popular joint for lunch. We arrived just after 12pm. The staff greeted us with a smile, answered our questions, and were friendly throughout the visit. I ordered a bowl of pho with a side of spring rolls, and both were delicious. Everything tasted fresh, the flavors were well balanced, and the portions were satisfying without feeling overly heavy. One feature I really appreciated was the ability to choose from a small, medium, or large bowl. It's a nice option whether you're looking for a lighter lunch or a hearty meal. There are still several menu items I'd like to try, so I'll definitely be back. My only suggestion is to be patient if you're driving because parking can be a challenge during busy times. Vietnamese restaurants are ubiquitous in the Bay Area, making it difficult to find places that really hit the spot. No fancy castle or horse-drawn carriage here, but I like how casual the inside of the restaurant is. The Princess and the Pea walked so we could run because there are a handful of comfortable seating arrangements. The interior leans more modern while still paying homage to traditional Vietnamese decor. Pho is great and all, but the Three Little Bears have found a new dish that's neither too hot nor too cold -- Bo Ne. Bo Ne is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes, and it's hard to find places that serve it. Even fewer places do it just right, making me feel like Goldilocks. I love the banh mi that comes with the Bo Ne because it has a thin, crunchy, flaky crust with a fluffy, soft inside that absorbs the sauce perfectly. The steak was tender and paired perfectly with the pâté, giving you that satisfying flavor that constantly has you reaching for more. Once you place your order, the food comes out super fast. For example, the Cha Ca La Vong (a Hanoi specialty) was boneless pieces of lightly fried turmeric-coated white fish, served on a hot plate with onions, dill, peanuts, and fried shallots, along with a plate of lettuce leaves, herbs, cucumbers, pickled carrots/daikon, rice noodles, a crunchy rice cracker, and fish sauce, all for making individual lettuce wraps with the pieces of fish. Though I loved the presentation of this dish, the fish was surprisingly bland and flavorless. From central Vietnam, the Mi Quang was a noodle soup made with thick rice noodles in a savory broth, along with chicken drumstick, shrimp, quail eggs, a rice cracker, and greens/herbs/bean sprouts on the side. While this was a tasty dish, it was missing a core defining element: yellow turmeric rice noodles. Hailing from southern Vietnam, a highlight dish for me was the Xoi Ga Da Don, featuring a mound of green (pandan) sticky rice, surrounded by a plethora of savory toppings including fried chicken skin and shredded meat, pickled carrots/daikon, fried shallots, and Chinese sausage--a delicious combination of crunchy textures and umami goodness to pair with the chewy green rice! Finally, the Bun Tom Thit Nuong Va Cha Gio was a classic southern Vietnamese vermicelli bowl with rice noodles, greens, herbs, cucumbers, bean sprouts, picked carrots/daikon, peanuts, grilled pork, grilled shrimp, and an egg roll, served with nuoc cham (sweet fish sauce). This simple dish was executed nicely, and the meaty, seafoody, earthy flavors all came together with the rice noodles and fresh vegetables. As tasty as all the dishes were, there was one more surprise waiting at the end: a complimentary self-serve dessert bar. Granted, the selection wasn't huge, but they had a soft serve machine (which turned out thick, sweet ice cream), fruit cocktail, and freshly made pandan waffles. Not a bad way to finish off our meal!

Regarding the viet coffee, this one was particularly strong, with a definite higher proportion of coffee to condensed milk that doesn't offend but also risks being a bit TOO strong (wild to say that when all viet coffee at its core is strong). Also got egg…read morerolls and stuffed bitter melon from their deli Food - banh mi was excellent, one of the larger, if not, the largest sandwiches we've had. Bread was 5 stars, toasted and soft inside. 5 stars overall - egg rolls, wow, surprisingly good since it was on the deli and who knows how long it was sitting there. Still crunchy and very flavorful - stuffed bitter melon, wasn't sure if I wanted to try it since the color wasn't vibrant green, but a customer in front of me ordered one so what the heck, I love bitter melon. Wow, full of flavor, the pork filling was excellent, 5 stars Service - took 20 minutes to get our a simple order, not the most efficient, but one must accept this for the price point and quality, but still slow so only 3 stars I would average this out as 3 stars but the food far outweighs the service, just be prepared for a long wait.
