Dropped by for lunch. First timer. Lots of open tables so I chose to be close to the window. The service was efficient. The server take my order right away. They have a very extensive menu but I do have my favorites. I had the spring rolls for appetizer but it came out the same time as my Pho. It was really crispy and tasty with the usual lettuce and fixings. Also had the Chicken Pho. The broth was just ok. It went well with some sriracha and plum sauce. Decided to give this place a try since not many places open at late hours. Should have stayed away when I saw the 3-star review on Yelp! We ordered some pho noodles, each costed almost $20 and should have come with romaine lettuce. Well, there was hardly any lettuce! I ordered a seafood flat noodle, the shrimp tasted old, the squid and shrimp balls were tasteless. The broth was blehh, tasteless also. And I love Vietnamese food. This has left me a bad taste in my mouth, don't think I want to eat pho again for a while!!! read more

I'm a sucker for pho and good spring rolls. I have tried many places but always come back to this one. My go to is their oxtail pho, and a order of spring rolls with cucumber. They by far have the best spring rolls I have ever had and is good size. I love how they aren't shy when is comes to the side veggies. Vincent was super welcoming and treated us like homies. We went on the first day from the mainland (California). The pho was authentic and the meat was fresh. The cha gio (eggroll) was on point it was good but might be too much pepper for other folks. Thai tea was also legit just the perfect amount of sweet and tea flavor. Food came out fast, Vincent the host kept checking in us to see how we were. 100% recommend!! We got the pho dac biet, and tai sach which wasn't on the menu but Vincent got it done. As we get refills on our drinks, we always say thank you, even if it's asking just for a straw. It's just in our nature for good manners. Well, the young server with the glasses took over for the elderly man. As he finished up topping off our waters he told my son (6 yrs old) before he could say anything, "YOU GOT NOTHING TO SAY?" Idk know what to say, but who does that ? Who speaks like that to a 6 year old ? This place is delicious!! I had a hankering for some breakfast pho and found this a convenient walk from my hotel. Some reviews below seem overly harsh about their style of service - the person who served me was no frills and efficient and totally polite. I got the mochi + eggs (basically fried rice cakes with eggs and a delicious soy sauce) and the vegetable and tofu pho. Managed to finish the pho and took the rest of the rice cakes for later. Pho 777 is located on the second floor in the plaza on the corner of Kapiolani Blvd. and McCully St. Since this place was open late we decided to go after a UH basketball game to feed our Pho craving. Mission accomplished! We ordered our usual rare steak pho and it totally hit the spot. The portion of the medium was a lot. I was happy to see so much noodles in my bowl! I was also hungry so I was even more happy when our food came so quickly too. We didn't try their summer rolls but will order it next time we come. I'm not sure why this place has only 3 stars but for me, my dining experience here was great. In and out within 35-40 mins, service was fine (and fast), and pho tasted good. Parking can be a challenge at this plaza. Certain times the lot can be full (with a lot of tight stalls too). There is additional parking under the building itself but I would always try the lot up top first. read more

I used to like this place a lot. It's never been the cleanest but the food was fine and service was good. First off, the chili sauce looked super disgusting like it was spoiled. Avoided that totally. Prices have gone up quite a bit. They also didn't give me the pho broth that comes with the rice plate initially so I had to ask for it. They overcharged me but I didn't realize until after leaving. When the bill first came out, it was around $18, but after swiping my card, I saw $19 was charged. Didn't think anything of it so it's really my fault, but sort of had an off feeling about the employee to begin with so I think it may have been intentional. Non friendly servers and multiple times I have witnessed the owner lady yelling and arguing with her workers from both in back and out in front where everyone can hear. Many times servers just stay in the back, nowhere to be seen so it can take a while.. BUT it's very convenient in the mccully shopping center upstairs and it's spacious so it's not always too busy. Portion size of pho is good and they give good meat portions. I like their Bahnmi although sometimes inconsistent and can be too salty for me. I also like their house special fried rice because it has lupcheong and it just has that different taste from Chinese fried rice.. Summer rolls and spring rolls are good, I've tried their BBQ rice plates and it's okay nothing unique. They have raised their prices quite a lot but if you're looking for a quick casual place for viet food than I'd recommend going here. read more

Convenient place to get your pho fix They're open from early to late and probably on holidays and such when other restaurants tend to be closed. I usually go for brunch after a long night out or on a rainy day. I've only increased the rating by one star and that's because of their take-out. In all honesty, I believe it's better to take-out from Pho 777 than actually dinning in their. It might be pricey than actually eating at the restaurant, but worth it. The only thing I have to say is, they might not add as much meat as if you were actually eating there. I've had very bad experiences here out of all the times I've dined here. Mainly because of the service. The first time I came here, I was completely ignored. They didn't have anyone in there except two tables with customers. The waitress/owner was just talking story with one table while I waited to get a menu, water and for someone to take my order. Initially I was gonna just walk out after 20 minutes of waiting but I stayed to see how long bad this place is. The waitress/owner person saw me but never came to service me and when she did, she was like "oh I didn't see you there!" Come on, the place was empty and we made eye contact! Overall, this meal took about 2 hours or so. Shame on me to go back right? Well I figured that maybe they were ironing out the kinks so give them another chance. Second time I came, I was with friends. The lunch took almost 3 hours with the horrible service we got again. My friends wanted to leave but I convinced them to stay so that I can compare to my first experience here. If they weren't there, I think I personally would have left. After the meal, we all agreed this place wasn't that good and that service was probably one of the worst we've ever had. I had to come back again for client meetings because my clients suggested the place. They were still slow but at least we got service somewhat quicker. It did take them forever to bring our orders of coffee though. You think that I've had enough of this place right? Well I had to come back once more but with my lunch buddy. By far, this time was the best experience I had here but it was still slow. The condiments and utensils on the table were all sticky too! They need to clean them asap! The pho here isn't special or even that good as I previously mentioned in my first review. Veggies were a decent portion but I had to ask for more on every visit. My lunch buddy let me try their Banh Mi and the flavors for me were lacking. The bread wasn't toasted or that crunchy on the outside and tasted like it could be old. I had such a bad pho experience one day that I NEEDED to have a better pho to erase that memory! My Lunch Buddy came to my rescue! We agreed on Pho 777 in the McCully Shopping Center. I liked the 777 number and the fact that McCully Shopping Center has free parking, a covered lower level of parking, and has a convenient elevator to the upper levels. The only disadvantage is that the restroom is down the hallway and a key is needed. We arrived at the restaurant on the second floor of the building and were seated right away. I ordered the Special Meat Combo Pho (#17) with brisket, tendon, meat balls, rare steak, and tripe. It was better than the bad memory, but not as good as Pho King in Wahiawa. I also got the Bahn Mi "to go" - it also wasn't as good as Pho King's bread. This bread didn't pop back up after being pressed down. The veggies weren't as plump either. Service was adequate and the environment was bright and spacious. It didn't start off too well because we were seated by the big screen television and they were playing some audio version of firecrackers (for Chinese New Year) - haha! Then it switched to a Vietnamese conversation - we only understood the English words such as "cell phone". LOL! I think I would return since it stays open until midnight. My absolute favorite restaurant for Pho. Being a transplant, it's hard to find the authenticity, proximity, and connection of what makes your favorite spot, your favorite. But I can always count on these folks for consistency. I tried their vegetarian spring/egg rolls, both are super good! And I try their pho with beef flank and steak. I believe the #13. I stopped in to this quaint, Vietnamese "hole in the wall" spot for lunch Sunday afternoon and liked it. I love to try all kinds of Asian food, and there is no better place to sample nearly all of it than in Honolulu! The service was great and the food was served fresh and hot. They even accommodate my request for the egg on top, which I believe they customarily serve "sunny side up," to be done over easy. I used to love this place and would often come to eat pho, sometimes two or three times a week! Since COVID hit, I've been ordering delivery and it just hasn't been the same. I think eating noodles at the actual restaurant tastes way better so this past week I went in person for the first time in almost a year. I kind of wish I hadn't gone in person because my past visit has kind of turned me off from this restaurant. I just want to point out that because of COVID, you should probably not just leave your sauces and utensils out on the tables for people to just touch (you don't know who's touched what and whether or not they're clean!!). Also, there is only one guy running the restaurant while the older guy sits behind the register with his mask off. The poor guy running around serving all the tables doesn't have anyone helping him and even though half the restaurant was empty, there were used bowls and utensils un-bussed everywhere. They also don't rinse their towels and I saw them use a towel on several different tables.. yuck.. When we were finally sat after 30 minutes of staring at un-bussed tables (while silently cheering on the lone server busting his ass doing his job), I noticed there was a long strand of hair sticking out of the chili sauce container. Yikes. Definitely not using that. All in all, this place needs to step up their cleanliness especially during these unprecedented times. I want to still say it's still my favorite pho restaurant but this past experience has me thinking otherwise. read more

The place gets an extra star for great customer service!! After spending more time than I care to admit look for some where to eat near the blaidsell center, we finally landed on this complex area. Pho 77 had what seemed like offputting reviews but we really didn't have much of a choice. I am glad we landed on this restaurant the service was phenomenal! PHO, can be a little overwhelming at times especially when you get a really big bowl but for me this medium was just the size I needed and was cook very well because we were kind of in a rush I didn't get to add all the things I like to add to my phone. But it was still really good the ox tail was cooked really well it was smaller than I thought it would be but I have come to learn that somethings you just can't get upset or really worry too much over. Our server who's name I didn't catch unfortunately was really awesome. We told him that we were kind of in a rush because we had to get to the Kevin Hart show and he took great care of us. read more

This is your typical Vietnamese Pho restaurant. They have all the usual popular dishes and an extensive menu that can satisfy just about any craving you might have for popular Vietnamese dishes. The location can be a bit challenging with parking. I recommend instead of fighting for front street level parking in the strip mall's parking lot, I recommend using the mall's underground parking that is accessed from a side street. It is quick and easy to get in and out and you don't have to let you car bake in the sun. The atmosphere is typical. The décor is your usual kitschy Vietnamese restaurant ambience, but it is clean and well maintained. The staff were nice and friendly with quick service. I ordered the crabmeat soup and it was very good. Loaded with lots of yummy treats and they didn't skip on anything. Their green papaya salad was loaded as well, but I wasn't sure if I liked the dressing preparation or not. It was a little different then other Vietnamese places I have gone to. Just couldn't put my finger on it, but I am not going to say that it was bad. The prices weren't as cheap as other places, but not that bad as well. They make up for it in the portion sizes and overall quality of the food. I will check them out again if in the area, but I don't think I will go out of my way just to return. read more
