Bahn mi for me: the hunt continued. The rave reviews from fellow Yelpers Lyla D and Paul C and office mates brought me here. The big bowls used to serve the pho made our eyes go wide open. How big you ask? Well we had to stand up and take our photos, lol! Have ordered the lemongrass chicken banh mi, spring roll, combination pho, lemongrass tofu vermicelli (bun), Saigon beef noodle. Was jonesing for more spring roll (6 pcs/order, not 6 rolls), although this did leave more room to try more dishes. Staff and service are A+! During day, free covered parking in building. We've passed by here a few times and decided to try it. It's very small inside but there's also some seating outside. It wasn't crowded when we went so had no problem. We ordered at the register but then sat down inside to wait for our food. The soups came out in huge bowls. My boyfriend got the combination pho and said it was good. I got the Saigon beef noodle soup since I've never tried anything like that. It tasted like a watery beef stew. It bad at all but not my favorite. If I came again though, I would probably order pho. We also ordered summer rolls which were good. I love when people are nice too and they were. The bowls were huge and we ended up taking some of the summer rolls home. Very filling. This is a cute little place in the Kakaako district across from Salt. I really like the décor of the place and the easy going atmosphere. Staff seem really nice as well. They have a rather limited menu with nothing unique, just the classics. I ordered the Qing Mu Pho, but unfortunately was given the Ribeye & Meatball. Not sure if it was miscommunication on my part, but I did point to the Qing Mu Pho on the menu. Not a big deal as the the soup was still enjoyable despite not having all the meats that I had originally ordered. Their pho broth is good, but nothing unique from what I could tell. I did love the presentation of the Pho coming in an extra large bowl as well as the ladle style spoon over the typical Chinese style. With my pho, I got the Vietnamese coffee. It was nice and robust with just the right amount of sweetened condensed milk to balance it out. However, I ordered it iced and it came in such a small glass. Usually it is served with a tall glass of ice, but it came ready made and rather small. All in all, it was a good lunch and I'd give them another go if in the area. read more

Hands down -- these folks know what they are doing in town! My brother and I stopped by for lunch. We ordered a Qing Mu Pho (Oxtail, Ribeye, and Meatballs), a Seafood Mekong Noodles (Squid, Shrimp, and Fishballs), an order of Summer Rolls, Dripped Iced Coffee, and a Coconut Juice. The broth was fantastic and tasted very pure -- as in, MSG was absent in the chef's preparation. Noodles were cooked just right -- not too soggy and with the appropriate texture. Lunch in Kakaako, Honolulu, Hawaii... I should be a Secret Shopper for restaurants. I would identify a concern, present it, and report on the outcome. That's what I did at Qing Mu. I didn't know what kind of cuisine was served here until my friend, Lyla, pointed out the restaurant and suggested that I try it. After we had dinner next door at 1938 Indochine, I stepped inside Qing Mu, took a look at the menu, and made a note to return for some healthy Viet cuisine.! I found some time on the weekend and parked in the FREE parking lot. The entrance is on Keawe Street, between Qing Mu and Bluetree. Ordering was easy, especially since the gal ai the cash register was friendly efficient. I noticed the tables and chairs to the left of her and said that I wished I had known that dining in was available. She warmly invited me back! I took my order of Seafood Spring Rolls, Shrimp and Grilled Pork Vermicelli, Summer Rolls, and Pork Belly and Pate Bahn Mi home. Mmm hmmm! The packaging was very impressive for takeout. The container for the vermicelli kept the veggies separated! There was a stackable try inside of the container! The summer rolls container was sturdy enough to keep and use again! Everything was beautiful and tasty - especially the shrimp on the vermicelli! It's more than just garlic... something I can't figure out... There was only one concern that bothered me, so I went back the next day and asked some questions. The young man at the cash register wasn't sure about the answer, so he called the manager - which is the proper thing to do. The manager was able to resolve the issue. I ordered the Mekong Seafood Noodles and dined in. This experience was better because my food was the correct temperature and the veggies were fresh! The bowl was gigantic! The manager was attentive (refilled my glass of iced water without my asking) and suggested that I put my bean sprouts and jalapenos in my bowl - ohhh! I had forgotten! At the end of the meal, I decided to bring home an order of the House Special Bahn Mi. I told the cashier that I could warm up the bread and meat in the oven at home, so he packed the pickled veggies separately. It turned out great! My bread was warm, toasty, and crunchy at home! The owner was called to the front while i was at the restaurant. I happily reported to Mr. Aoki that he has great staff who listen to the customer. I would be glad to bring my mom to this clean, safe, and elegant environment for Vietnamese cuisine. It's better than Chinatown! The service and food quality are outstanding! 10/10 Amazing!! This place had been in my bookmarks for quite a while and only recently I had realized how close it is to where I work! I went in for their happy hour special which is any banh mi + iced coffee for $13, Totally worth it in my opinion! I appreciate that their happy hour is a good time window for anyone on a lunch break in the area it's from 1-3pm. Both items exceeded my expectations, The Vietnamese ice coffee was one of the best I've had in a while! You could definitely taste the condensed milk but not extremely sweet or bitter & very smooth yet strong. One place to cross of my places to try list. I called during lunch for a take out order for the banh mi & soup combo. The employee had the hardest time trying to get my number correct which I found it quite odd as my number only uses 4 digits. So after seven-ish times of repeating my phone number and not getting a timeframe of when my food should be ready, I should have known that my restaurant selection for lunch was a bad idea. The location itself is cute and modern, with indoor and outdoor seating. They seem to also abide my COVID-19 guidelines which is a plus. Now on to the food. I ordered Banh Mi (lemon grass chicken) & soup (combination pho) combo for the price of $21.00 which left me a little kind of disappointed. Bad news first: combination pho. Before any additions such as the veggies, herbs, & sauces, the broth was way too salty for my liking. It seemed like the broth itself lacked a lot of flavor that I am accustomed to when it comes to pho; even using lemon did not cut the saltiness. The meats in the pho also lacked flavor. After putting in the veggies, herbs, and the sauces, it still didn't meet that "omgosh this is so good" standard. Thinking that the dish could be saved with some water to dilute the saltiness, didn't help. Good News: the saving grace came down to the lemongrass chicken banh mi. The flavors in the sandwich were on point down to the nice balance of the pickled vegetables. The chicken was not overly dry and the sauces didn't overwhelm the whole sandwich. One thing I wished they could have done is that they could have cut the sandwich in half. Overall I might give this place another try but definitely NOT for the pho. The new normal, eating out during COVID19. The new kid on the block in Kakaako! I have been meaning to try them since the opened about 2 months ago. Finally got around to it. I pre-ordered our food on their website. It was super quick and easy and the online order even has photos! Love that :D One thing I did not like about the online ordering, I could not request a specified pickup time. I wanted to order online and pickup in an hour or so, but it would not give me any options for that. It would just assign me a time about 30 minutes when I put in the order. The Grub. Unfortunately, you can't choose which pho or banh mi you want for your combo so you'll end up with the Pork Belly + Pate Banh Mi and the Meatball Pho When my food came out, I definitely was not expecting a GINORMOUS bowl of pho; it was basically two meals itself. I don't know how but I somehow prevailed and finished both the sandwich and the pho. The pho tastes lighter than what I'm used to but it wasn't bad, I just wish there was more meat in it. These are some really crazy times with folks out of work, businesses losing customers, and even reduced hours or curfew. So we're doing our small part to support our local restaurants who are struggling with sales. Being cognizant of social distance and precautionary for health efforts, we call in our order and pick it up to go. Executive chef is very humble and kind. He personally came out to ask us about our meal. The chef was happy to hear that I was Vietnamese and asked if I had any critiques. I gave him a suggestion for the phở broth and he was very grateful to learn. My friend and I both got the chef special with your choice of phở and bánh mì. we were very confused at first about whether or not this place was actually open. i went to their website, and the website said "temporarily closed check instagram for update". so i went to instagram....their latest post (3 days ago) talked about a new menu starting on 12/20 and it listed their hours of operation, however the info at the top of their IG still said "reopening soon!". and when checking yelp the hours had been updated recently and said they were open. but needless to say it was all very confusing and nothing seemed guaranteed. but we walked over anyway to chance it, and if it was in fact closed we would just eat someplace else in SALT. when we got there at 10:59 (IG and yelp said they opened at 11) the front door was open. but it was super empty inside, no visible staff, and it didnt even look like there was food being prepped, plus there were a ton of chairs stacked up outside like they were moving. (also, bluetree their sister restaurant definitely looked closed since there were a ton of boxes stacked at the door). but we poked our head inside and asked the 1 guy we saw if they were open, and he said yes! not too many items on their menu, but its a pretty good selection. we got pho and a bahn mi. had difficulty paying at first because the guy couldnt process any credit card payments because he said the manager hadnt come in yet to setup the system.....so we had to pay cash. and then that took some time as well and he had to call the manager back to get a cash box and figure out how to startup the system. he was very apologetic about everything though and very friendly. he also ended up being the cook too! this 1 lone guy was left in charge of everything!! good thing we were the only people in there during our entire lunch. but mad props to this dude for doing it all! bahn mi came out first. bread was nicely toasted and crunchy. bbq chicken was pretty tender too. very tasty sandwich. pretty standard as far as ingredients go. french bread, mayo, cucumber, jalapeno, daikon & carrot slaw, bbq chicken thigh, parsley. the pho presentation was top notch, definitely loved the bowl and ramen style soup spoon. portion was on the smaller side though, and there were no options for different sizes, even though the bowl could've def accommodated a large portion. i would definitely go back if i was in the area and craving vietnamese! read more

Solid 4.5! This is the best vermicelli I've had maybe. They gave so much protein and I was so full! Their noodles were also cooked to the perfect texture. It also had lots of taste and the perfect amount of sides. I believe we were the only ones ordering and I felt like the food took a bit long to come out. I am being generous with the 2 stars (my bf really wanted me to give 1 star.) A few nights ago, we finally tried this place in our neighborhood. Growing up in a Vietnamese family, I was hesitant. In a nutshell: Food was OK, but take-out service was TERRIBLE. FOOD We got the grilled chicken salad and combo of house special banh mi + meatball pho for $27 total. *Banh mi- I liked that the bread was lightly toasted (so not too hard on the gums) but it barely had any pate and it was missing moisture like from some Mayo and/or sauce. They were pretty generous with the cha lua. The pickled veggies (predominantly carrots) were not as pickled as I'd like. *meatball pho- The pho broth was a bit bland (we used all the Siracha and oyster sauce provided), but there was a decent amount of meatballs (6). They were super skimpy on the toppings (more like a garnish), and surprisingly didn't use the typical wide flat noodle. *Grilled chicken salad- The grilled chicken was tasty with that nuoc mam sauce, but there was barely any "salad" (aka just shredded cabbage and carrots). SERVICE Staff was friendly at greeting and taking our order. My bf waited 7 ft from the cashier in plain view the whole time while I walked our dogs outside. 15 min passed when the customer that ordered 2 min after us got his order first. (I texted my bf when I saw that guy walk out). My bf waited 5 mins and then followed up with the staff on our order. They apparently were doing orders out of sequence and skipped our order. Even after we followed up, they did not then prioritize it. Even one of the workers (who we saw were giving a liquor tasting at a table) came over and started raising his voice to the other staff (it's an open kitchen right behind the cashier) at least 2x to tell them to, "Get this done", as they are supposed to do our order first and ignore all the other orders (which confirmed to us that they weren't prioritizing us even after we followed up). We waited 30+ minutes total for 3 food items without any real apology or effort from the staff to make up for the inconvenience. Instead, after my bf (who is not confrontational) received the food and asked them why it took so long, they gave some lame excuse about the orders printing on individual tickets?! We ordered Pho, Spring Rolls, Banh Mi Sanwich w/ Soup Combo, Grilled Pork & Shrimp Vermicilli for take-out with Curbside pick-up. The web confirmation noted the order would be ready at 6:19. I arrived at 6:21 and because I was unsure where the curb-side pick-up was located, I parked in the lot and called to ask. I was told to pull up on the street in front of the resaturant, put your hazards on, and call to let them know I arrived so a server could come out with the order. I informed the woman I was already there, in the parking lot and she told me my order wouldn't be ready for another 5 minutes. I said that was fine, and that I would wait a little bit before pulling out onto the street. Long story short, I pulled out into the street as instructed, called the restaurant again, got a different woman who informed me my order was still not going to be ready for another few minutes so I asked if I should circle around or park back in the lot because I felt like I was in the way waiting where the first woman told me to wait. I heard her ask another person and she informed me, "No, just stay right there. It's fine." Thinking they are advising me based on their past experiences, I listened when I should have gone back into the lot. Ultimately, my toddler & I waited 21 minutes with my hazards on, cars speeding past us with a few who either honked or gave me dirty looks and I finally got my order 31 minutes after the email time. Spoke with a Manager to express my concerns and he apologized & agreed the street is not the place to wait. He was quick to point out that their curbside pick-up is located in the nook where you come out of the parking lot. I informed him I asked the staff twice, and twice, there was no mention of the nook location. There is also no signage or communication to indicate where the curbside pick-up is located. Food was Ok. We didn't receive the Meatball soup that was supposed to be part of the Banh Mi Combo - Instead, there was a Combo Pho (I don't know if this was an intentional discrepancy or not). There were no sauces included for the Vermicilli, Spring Rolls or Pho. The soup for the Pho was cold. Grilled pork and Shrimp in the Vermicilli dish were Ok. Coffee was Ok. As Kaka'ako residents, we have been anxiously awaiting the opening of the Aoki Group's 2nd restaurant in retail space of Ala Moana's condominium complex called "The Collection". But, due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, we've been practicing social distancing and made sure to make our dine right at the start of their soft opening, 5PM. We were immediately greeted and given a short introduction to the Aoki Group's latest restaurant, Qing Mu and its menu. Mr. Kevin Aoki graciously spoke with us and provided more contact information that I could input onto this business page. Looking around, the décor pulls you into a Southeast Asian street, no, not quite like the traditional Hanoi open air market but you'll be comfortable sitting on slatted wood benches and at rough hewn wood tables. We immediately understood Qing Mu is a Pan Asian Noodle and Sandwich shop. There's a lot of seating in this space so you can place your order at the counter and take a seat while they prepare your food. FOOD: -Spring Rolls (chả giò): this appetizer consisted of 6 (halves) golden-fried, tight and evenly filled and rolled Spring Rolls. Served with lettuce leaves, sprigs of fresh basil and mint, cucumber slices, vermicelli and đồ chua (pickled carrots & daikon) to use as hand rolling the Spring roll in. Use the accompanying dipping sauce, which wasn't fish sauce strong, to enhance the seafood filled hand rolls. These rolls were delicious bites of flavors and textures to start our meal. $6.25 -Grilled Pork Belly Bánh Mì: the locally sourced (La Tour Bakery) baguette was an excellent "canvas" for the flavorful sandwich filling. The baguette's exterior crust was crisp but not palate-cutting or mouth-shredding when bit into... the bread had a very nice chew and pull to it as it supported the layers of pâté, tender and tasty pork belly slices garnished with more pickled carrots and daikon and sprigs of cilantro. I'll admit as a porkaholic, this bánh mì was MY Jam! $7.25 -Mekong Phở: we ordered this menu item and really didn't expect the huge portion size (not complaining). The humongous bowl was half-filled with narrow flat and slightly chewy rice noodles, shrimp, calamari, ground pork and tender-cooked pork ribs in a clear and clean-tasting pork-based (not the typical beef base) phở broth. We added in some Huy Fong's Sriracha and hoisin sauce as we usually do but certainly appreciated the clean, clear and non-greasy pork broth. The phở was not served with traditional vegetable condiments like at other Vietnamese restaurants so fortunately, we had leftover basil and mint from our Spring roll plate that we were able to add into the steaming hot noodle soup. This huge and delicious bowl of phở costs $13.95 which is quite comparable to other Vietnamese restaurants for large size. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Qing Mu as we got to meet Mr. Aoki, Chefs Dien and Mandy. We'll be back and we welcome this new restaurant to Our Kaka'ako. NOTE: I wondered about the restaurant name, Qing Mu, which appears to be Chinese. I looked around for any Chinese characters to convert and realized that Qīng Mù is 青木 pronounced in Mandarin or Chīng mùk in Cantonese. My first Yelp post!! Ordered online the Limited Special of 2 banh mi, 2 pho and spring rolls. Loved the lemon grass chicken banh mi and family enjoyed the BBQ chicken. Flavorful pho broth, meat was tender. Loved their take out packaging for the pho noodles and soup and vegetables and spring. I visited this place to do a take out order as I kept driving by and a new vietnamese restaurant caught my eye. Unfortunately my high Hope's for a new joint was meant with indifference and lackluster behavior from the cashier. I used Grubhub to secure and pay for my order. This was done through my trusty Yelp app. I secured a bbq chicken bahn min and the "house special" bahn min. I use the "house special" title loosely here, as that is how the sandwhich was advertised. But per the cashier, that is incorrect. So, the "house special" cost $8.95 and the chicken cost $7.25. I get there and I see a sign that said door is heavy and to pull hard. No matter how hard i pulled, the door wouldn't budge. No customers were inside and this cashier saw me struggling and made no attempt to come over and open the door. My dad tapped on the door and she finally sauntered over to open the door. After we left the business I noticed on the receipt that besides my chicken dish, I was given a pork belly and pate sandwhich. I went back in to speak to the cashier about my incorrect sandwhich and informed me that is their "house special". And I proceeded to tell her I was charged incorrectly and I want the difference refunded. She told me if I have a problem to take it up with Grubhub and she wasnt going to do anything about it. And her interaction with me, she behaved as she could care less. I contacted Grubhub which the employee put me on hold, contacted this business came back and told me that this restaurant will refund me the difference. Needless to say, based on the cashier's attitude, I went be stopping by for future dining out as this experience left a sour taste in my mouth. They were very accommodating! I had an 11:30 lunch meeting and had to pick up a larger bánh mì order the day of. I had taken a poll for my office to place their pre-orders ahead of time. I had originally intended to call in the morning to give the restaurant some notice. Only after checking their hours did I realize Qing Mu opened at 11:00 and it would be cutting it close. I called at around 10:45 to see if they could get my order through as close to 11:00 as possible. When I got to the restaurant, they had my sandwiches all bagged up by 11:05! A MUST TRY!! The owner of this place also owns Doraku Sushi and Blue Tree Cafe. We really loved the ambience here. It's clean and it also has outdoor seatings. The food was VERY good. It was clean and refreshing. We got Pho Combination, Banh Mi Lemon Grass Chicken and Spring Rolls. The workers there were making sure we were well taken care of since it was their soft opening. It's nice that they added a Vietnamese restaurant in the area and it's very close to SALT kakaako. Parking: We were unsure about the parking. We went to the buildings parking structure but there were only 5-6 stalls and they were all occupied by other businesses. The parking structure is also under construction. We ended up parking on the street parking right across the restaurant. There's also more parking available at SALT KAKAAKO. We can't wait to come back during their grand opening to try out more of their food! read more

I went here to pick up take out. I ordered their Saigon beef stew with French bread. You could also opt for noodles instead of French bread. The beef stew was amazingly good! Wow probably one of the best! I definitely want to come back and try out other dishes from here. Their sister restaurant inside called Indochine is opening up soon which is more finer dining South East Asian fusion. I want to come back here when Indochine opens up. read more

Hmm, modernized Vietnamese... Do I take the risk...? Yes! Me and my boyfriend were looking for a place for dinner, and this place popped up that piqued my interest. It's located next to a modernized Vietnamese/Laotian restaurant, 1938 Indochine, connected to a structure in Kaka'ako. There's free parking in the structure (whoohoo!) for customers dining in at Qing Mu, 1938 Indochine or Bluetree. It's a relatively small place with really nice interior. It's definitely a hipster, modern style restaurant to match Kaka'ako's image. When we came, there was a small band playing live music (score!) but because there were so many parties outside, we decided to eat indoors where it was empty. We ordered their house special banh mi and ribeye/meatball pho, paid, and then sat at a table. We weren't too sure if that's the normal dining experience here... but that's what we did. The food took a while because they were super backed up and busy with take out orders. Our banh mi came out first, and it looked really yummy. We tried waiting for the pho (so that I could take a pic of both of them), but it took really long... so we ended up taking a bite before our pho came out. The banh mi was super flavorful! The meat was super tender and the sauce (blend of mayo and their special sauce) with the pate brought out the delicious flavor. The single pepper was actually really spicy too (not the fake ones!), so I had to remove it. The pho came out and the bowl was HUGE. It was twice the size of my hands. I took a sip of the broth before adding pepper and condiments, and it was just okay with a semi-bland taste and kind of too salty. Perk is that they weren't stingy with the meats! The pho wasn't too memorable compared to their banh mi. Because they're located in Kaka'ako, the pho price is a just a bit pricier but their banh mi prices weren't bad. I do definitely want to try their other banh mi the next time I'm around! read more

Went to eat here on a Wednesday for lunch. We were the only ones dining in and loved that there's an option to sit outside. I had the Qing Mu Pho which was delicious & came with a good amount of every meat. Service was great & very quick. I would come here again but definitely want to come back and try 1938 Indochine next door. Parking is free right next door & had a lot of open stalls, so convenient! read more

The Saigon beef noodle soup is actually Vietnamese beef stew. Their version is watered down yet extremely salty. It's also more of a broth rather than the usual thicker stew base to dip your French bread into. It was not cooked; the carrots and potatoes were crunchy and hard and the beef was tough. My hubs likes salty foods so I let him gnaw through it. We also ordered a pho with steak only. It came with a whole bunch of rare steak slices stuck together at the top of the bowl. It was such a generous portion that the broth cooled way down and the blood from the rare beef made the soup reddish. As far as the broth goes (the most important part of pho!), it's below average. I'd much prefer eating authentic and way better tasting Vietnamese food in Chinatown, just a few minutes away. read more

Ive never written a negative review... but I was so disappointed by the service/management of this restaurant that I feel obligated to let others know. We placed a dinner order here for Mother's Day at 11 am for a pickup at 5:30 p.m. (paid for fully online with tip) When we arrived 5 minutes before the pickup time, we were shocked to find the restaurant closed and locked. We went next door to the adjoining restaurant to ask what was going and we were told we could speak to the manager. When the manager came out he told us that their chef had walked out on them a few hours ago and they were going to close for the night. WE WERE NOT NOTIFIED AT ALL. No phone call, no notification email, nothing. And we were now stuck with no Mother's Day dinner at 6 pm. When I asked why we weren't notified the manager told me "we shut down our system a few hours ago when we decided to close. I'll restart now it to give you a refund" It would be one thing if the chef had walked out an hour before and the staff was super apologetic, but this was not the case. They did not directly apologize to us and they knew for hours prior to our pickup time that they would not be able to complete our order. I'm hoping this review will provide some insight to the owners as to how inconsiderate their employees were to customers. Maybe then the issue can be addressed and fixed for the future. read more

This place was good. I wouldn't say it was anything out of this world but we definitely enjoyed a nice meal here. We started with the summer roll which was tasty and very similar to any other summer roll we have ever had. We then split the house special bahn mi, now this was really tasty! My husband and I really really liked this, we will definitely be back for it! The bread was cooked to perfection, the flavor combos went perfectly together! It was a hit for sure! The pho was meh, nothing crazy special about it no amazing flavors just a standard dish of pho! This is the third time we showed up during their regular business hours and they were closed. The first time they claimed the cook did not show up. The second time the door was closed with no explanation. The third time they claimed the cashier did not show up. They already reduced the hours to close at 6pm. But when we showed up at 5pm, they were already closed. My suggestion to the owner is to close the business down completely and stop misleading the Layla customers, and expand the 1938 Indochine next door to its space, which seems to be always fully staffed. Qing Mu...it's a name that is hard to pronounce, at least for me. But, they have great food. I never in my life liked Vietnamese food, until NOW. Their food is undoubtedly FRESH and well prepared and seasoned. Everything is served hot if the dish is required to be cooked so you may not get all your food at once but you can definitely enjoy the food before you. We ordered the Crazy Fried Rice and Citironell chicken. It was the best fried rice I have ever tasted. Loved the chicken because it is so bite sized and kind blends in with whatever else you may be eating at the same time. My son loves the ban mi sandwich and there is also a pastrami sandwich. Their pho appears to be great according to my son but I have not yet had the chance to sample. Oh, there is a beer cooler there with several different types of selection if you prefer. Next to the beer selection is a small array of tapiola pudding and it's GREAT. The place is super clean, hand sanitizer is provided for you on the ordering counter if you need. There is outside eating which is good for this covid days. The hut like features like a gazebo Thailand and Vietnamese style. Always good to eat in the breeze nowadays. This restaurant has super cute interior! I love a good Bahn Mi and this place hits the spot! During this time they are doing only takeout on yelp/grubhub. I wanted to support local businesses therefore I decided to check out Qing Mu and I am super impressed with the food and the service. I had a couple questions about the sandwiches therefore I called and the girl who picked up was super patient and helpful. When I went in to pick up my order, the cashier was really sweet and made sure that we got everything we ordered. I will be back for the good service and bomb food!! We live in the Kaka'ako area, so naturally when there is a new restaurant open, we need to try it out. The initial impression when I walk in the restaurant is a very nice and unique interior design. Since it is their soft opening, the menu is limited. The staff are very friendly, we ordered the meatball and beef combo pho. They serve the pho in a every big black bowl. We love pho and we try a lot of pho restaurants around town. My wife think the broth is a little too salty but I think it is fine. The broth taste fresh and not overpowering, the owner Joyce is very nice and chat with us during our visit and make us feel welcome. We need to go back try the sandwich and try other items when they have the full menu ready. The restaurant next store is not ready to open yet, the owner told me they will serve difference food which we can't wait to to try it when they open. For those who don't know, they have their own parking which is right next to the restaurant. The parking entrance is between this restaurant and Bluetree. Happy dinning. read more

Nah. Waited too long, paid too much, and they underdelivered. Pho was without depth of flavor, watery and just not all that good. Maybe it gets better as they settle in. Location though is spot on. As is the outdoor seating. Might check in later and give them a chance to change my mind. read more
